Great little Thai place located on the south side of Bethlehem. My husband and I went on a Saturday night for dinner around 6:30. I had made reservations, but there were still a number of open tables (the owner came out later and noted that business has been slow recently). BYOB - which is nice. Small place, seats about 35ish. Menu has a nice variety of offerings. I had the pork pad thai and my husband had a dish with coconut milk and cucumber (I can't remember the name!), which smelled delish, but I did not try. He said it was good. The pad thai was very good, decent portion size. We also ordered spring rolls, which were very tasty, but a little bit greasy. Later in the evening, the owner came out and introduced herself and her 4 year-old granddaughter. They were very sweet. A nice welcoming touch. We would eat here again! Though it's a bit of a drive for us.

A small place, but the food, prices, and service are good. When it is crowded the food can take a while to appear, but the kitchen appears to be about the size of a small walk-in closet, so that's understandable. We once had to send our satay chicken strips back to get heated some more as it was still frozen in the middle, but they came back out nice and hot and were delicious. I adore their curries, even the time I made a mistake and said "medium" for the spice level I couldn't stop eating even though it hurt to eat it (so stick to "mild" until you are familiar with their seasoning heat) .

I don't understand the negative one, two star reviews. I went to Thai Kitchen today for lunch. Disclaimer: It isn't in the best section of town, but it's really not that bad. The restaurant itself is tiny, but looks like a small green jewel on the outside in the midst of a rundown area. It's small, but quite functional inside. I got there at 11 am and was the only one there, but I imagine it can be crowded on a weekend night. The restaurant seats about 30 people, from 2-4 seats per table, though some tables can be put together. I passed on the very nice looking $10 seven-item lunch buffet, because I wanted to try several of the menu dishes. The papaya salad was in the top third of the approximately 20 Thai restaurants I've been to over the years. The (optional) crushed peanuts were a welcomed addition. Also, I'm not a huge fan of presentation as many foodies are, but I did notice the carefully prepared presentation of the papaya salad. The sweet and sour fish soup was filled with nice chunks of fish, well balanced, very tasty, and seasoned appropriately. I asked for it to be served Thai hot, which they did. The Thai beef salad was my favorite dish. It was really terrific. A very nice London Broil placed on a traditional green salad with lime juice, chilies, etc. Incidently, the server was very friendly, attentive and helpful in making suggestions since it was my first time. I will definitely return soon to Thai Kitchen. Four stars.

The food is excellent. The three flavor deep fried fish is to die for. It is out of this world. The owner, Lek, is extremely courteous. I highly recommend eating at this wonderful restaurant.

My mouth is watering just thinking about what to write in this review. I think that says enough.

There are better Thai restaurants (Thai Thai II and White Orchid, though the latter is overpriced) and there are cheaper (Charly's), but Thai Kitchen serves a solid meal. The decor is homely. The tables and chairs almost cafeteria style, though dressed up well. There was an odd smell that was off putting, but I stopped noticing it after my food arrived. My waitress was friendly and attentive, although I was the only customer, so I can not comment on the experience when its busy. The entire menu seemed very reasonably priced, I settled on the #31, which was spicy pork over pad thai noodles with a coconut milk sauce. My portion was fair and easily enough to fill me, the flavor sweet, spicy and satisfying. Will I come again? Yes Is it my first choice? No

Authentic! New owner who puts her heart into the food. Very fresh. Must try. I've been to Thailand and her crispy duck beats it! Love this place. Give them business!

Remains one of the best Thai restaurants that I've been to...exceptionally fresh and well seasoned. The price is really reasonable and located in south Bethlehem near Lehigh.

First timer - loved the food and the atmosphere. Everything was great - got a lemon grass soup (i think #8) on the menu with jumbo shrimp, yummy - spring rolls were fantastic and i got the pork pad thai. Yummy. Portions are smaller but enough to get satisfied. BYO here as well which is great. Recommend making reservations as they can busy for the weekend!

I tried it, and honestly did not see what was so special about this place. Granted, i went during a restaurant week, the staff was overwhelmed, and they ran out of stuff. Even still, nothing stood out to me. The people around me didn't seem that moved either. It's in a bad neighborhood, there is like no parking in that section, and it is a little tight in there. Overall there really are not many good thai choices in the valley if you ask me. Maybe I will give it another chance.

The Thai Kitchen is my favorite Thai Restaurant in the Valley. It is not the best Thai I have ever had but it is the best in valley. The menu is what you expect and the decor is so so. The dishes are well flavored and usually mild to medium in spice. The portions are quite ample. The seating area is very small and sometimes you may have to wait to seat. The staff is friendly but the food is sometimes the food is a little slow coming out. The drinks are good and it is BYOB. I would recommend this over more-pricey less flavorful alternatives like White Orchids. Overall Best Thai Food in the Lehigh Valley

One of the best kept secrets in South Bethlehem! This place is easy to miss -- it's a tiny little place on Broadway Ave that I hadn't ever noticed or heard of until I looked up Thai places in the area and found it after reading good reviews. Once you get inside, it's beautifully-decorated and welcoming. The food is probably the best Thai food I've ever had. It's moderately priced: 8-12 dollars or so per dish, but well worth it. I reccommend the noodle dish that has green curry/coconut milk in it (sorry, I can't recall the name of it right now), and of course the Pad Thai. My parents both love the red curry, although I haven't tried it yet myself. BYOB. And you might want to call ahead just to make sure they're open since they tend to have weird hours and be closed for vacation randomly every so often.

Absolutely the best authentic Thai restaurant in the Lehigh Valley. No one else comes close.

If for some reason you can't get to the north side then eat here, otherwise go to Thai Thai!

Overpriced, bland food and unfriendly service comes to mind when I think of this place. My only experience here was for lunch and I had some sticker shock when I saw the prices on the lunch men. The basic pad Thai was $8.95 -$9.95 and this was for lunch! I ordered the vegetarian Pad Thai and it arrived lukewarm. It had no taste-it was VERY bland and the portion was small. Service was unfriendly and the waiter had the nerve to sweep the floor by where we were sitting-a move that I thought was a bit rude. I didn't get that warm cozy feeling like other posters said they experienced. Overall, lunch set me back close to $30.00 for two people (for LUNCH?) I have had much better Thai food in NYC for a lot less money. Maybe the owners think that Bethlehem is NYC or because they are close to the Sands Casino that they can charge such high prices and serve poorly prepared food in small portions. Honestly, I didn't experience all the alleged greatness of this place. Then again, many posters will give 5 stars no matter what.

I don't know how I lived here for so long, and didn't learn about this place sooner! My husband and I LOVE Thai food. I ordered the classic Pad Thai, and my husband had a beef and curry dish. Both were good, although not nearly as good as the food we used to enjoy in York. Service was slow. But the tiny place was cozy. We will most likely return.

Got a Thai restaurant closer to us compared with Thai Thai II. Their drunken noodles tastes as good as Thai Thai one. And price is decent.

I ate here once and food was very good. The decor was really out dated however.

We can comment on the phone call, delivery time, and food quality. We ordered delivery from a local hotel. First, placing the telephone order would have been a chore for most people. There was a clear difficulty for the lady taking the order to understand what I was saying/asking and somewhat of a difficulty for me to understand her. I have somewhat of a knack for understanding broken English or different dialects, but most customers may have had to simply hang up and order elsewhere. After we got the order straight, she said delivery would be about a 40 minute wait...(normal wait I think). Total cost for a dinner and appetizer was a little over $30...Kinda high I think, but the food was pretty good. Food came around 40 minutes later like the lady said. "Medium" heat here was very hot. I like hot food, but Thai food is hotter than most hot foods. Mild, medium, hot, and Thai hot were available. I ordered the medium and told the lady to put some hot sauce on the side....Glad I ordered it on the side, because medium was HOT! Thai hot would have been unbearable. Food portions were somewhat small for the cost, but not tiny. I would order from here again without question, but maybe get the mild sauce!

Thai Kitchen is the place if your in South Bethlehem and are craving some Thai Food. The place is very small, but the decor is nice. It is a nice decor and it makes you forget your in South Bethlehem. I have not personally eaten inside, I have just bought take out from there so I cannot comment on the full experience. As for the food, the food is decent. It's not the best, but it's editable if you want Thai food. I have had a few dishes from time to time and each one was decent enough to come back if I am craving Thai. That said the dinner menu is reasonably priced, but the Lunch menu is a bit expensive. While they charge $9-10 for a lunch meal which isn't bad, but they give you such a large portion for Lunch it's too much to finish. I wish they had a cheaper $5-6 option with less food.

A small place but really a good place to have some authentic Thai food. Its Thai hot is really hot, and is exactly what I expect!

The decor leaves alot to be desired here. If it seems like you're eating in someone's house, you probably are. The food is very underwhelming, barely warm, and dry. The selection is typical Thai fare. The location is terrible and the parking is almost non-existant. I wouldn't mind driving around forever trying to find a place to park if the food was worth the trouble. Unfortunately, it isn't. There are MUCH BETTER Thai restaurants nearby like Thai Thai ll or Touch on Main St. Bethlehem. Avoid this place and go there!

i've since had a bad experience here, one that will turn me off for a while. As it's basically someones house, the night i went for dinner i had to sit through about 8 of the family/servers/cooks there gabbing and carrying on. It coincided with the pad thai having that wet dog smell...you know what i mean? there's like an unpleasant odor that sometime accompanies chinese food. I liken to my mother's dog when it's gotten wet, i gives off an odor that you may quite be content not having around your nose and mouth. I mean i love a good pad thai but this is twice (see my Kuki review) that i've been repulsed by the smell. Through research i believe it's the meat that's gone bad, makes sense as i was the only one in the place and maybe they didnt serve a ton of it that day/week? results may vary but i'm downgrading this to a 2-star, as i probably wont be back but know it has potential.

Ugh ..... my husband and I both got food poisoning after take-out from Thai Kitchen. Since we live in the Historic District of Bethlehem, we usually go to Thai Thai II; but one night we had a craving for Thai food and our usual joint was closed, so we decided to give Thai Kitchen a try. While I can't say with 100% certainty that it was our takeout, we were both pretty queasy and had some intestinal issues (won't go into any more detail than that), and it was the only food we had in common over the previous 24hours. We had the same dishes we always get from Thai restaurants, so it wasn't from having something new... it just didn't agree with us. While I'm sure it was just bad luck, and it looks like many other people have had good experiences, we definitely won't be trying it again.
