We visited on Sunday, January 4th and the gal (who's name escapes me) serving pizza up front was a real treat. Friendly and respectful. She greeted everyone coming and going like family. Give her a raise. This is the kind of person you want working for you. We usually stop in here for a quick slice when visiting my partner's family. He grew up on their pizza. Love the thick crust, very soft texture and I love their garlicky red sauce!

While walking in the mall you may only think that cafe riviera serves pizza, although they serve a mean pizza and always have multiple varieties on hand they also have great eggplant, chicken parm, manicotti, salad etc in the back! The staff is always so nice as they scream at you ciao come stai? A there is always someone there wiping down the tables and picking up left overs so that there is no mess and clutter.

Great food, but rather confusing service. As a newcomer to Bensalem area, I happened upon this restaurant in the mall. It appeared to be a nice Italian family style restaurant. As it was around lunch time, I waited for a hostess to greet me. After several minutes, I decided it might be a "seat yourself" establishment, and settled into a booth. Within two seconds, a waiter appears and rudely tells me it is cafeteria style, and I cannot sit there until my food is ready. I must stand at the counter and wait for my food. I go to the counter and ask for a chicken parm on a long roll. The guy nods, and asks if I want a platter with roasted potatoes instead. I say "sure", and he puts a chicken Parm with pasta on the counter. I am confused, as this is not what I ordered. The guy shouts at me that I did order this, and that is what the platter is. Not explained very well, and I WAS disappointed, but took it anyway as I was starving. The food was pretty good, but rather rude service. If they can improve on that, and actually listen to their customers requests, I may return again.

Can't believe a restaurant this good is in a mall. All employees extremely friendly and helpful, especially the cook. Extra attention to detail. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Extremely average mall food served cafeteria style. What on earth is all the fuss about??

This place is so good that you'd never expect it to be in a mall. Huge portions, hilarious staff, and awesome prices. Get the chicken cacciatore--the chicken is moist and the sauce is loaded with veggies. The soups and salads are quality, and the everything breadsticks are truly a treat. Pizza here is average, but almost every one of the other pasta entrees I have tried have been great.

This is one of the only things I really loved about working at Neshaminy Mall. If I was ever stuck working an open to close shift (especially around the holidays), I knew I could always rely on this place place for a good meal. The pizza is is delicious, as well as the sandwiches. If you opt for dinner, be prepared to get A LOT of food. I believe the prices are fair for the amount of food you get. There's ample seating. I enjoyed it being dimly lit since I was usually stuck under sickeningly bright florescent lights all day. I would grab a seat in the corner on my lunch break and be perfectly content. It's clean, quick, and the staff is super friendly. If you're at Neshaminy and hungry, this is the place to go.

Wow, just a little shocked - always loved Cafe Riviera for definitely the best pizza and fabulous entrees also. However, last night we ordered a Sicilian pie with extra cheese and there was virtually no taste at all ! I don't know if they changed the real cheese to some kind of blend or something but not happy. Everyone in the household said the same exact thing, "No taste ". We did have leftovers and I was not going to waste that as the original bill was like $25., so in heating up the leftovers, we added salt, pepper, oregano and some real whole milk mozzarella/ provolone mixture and oh Thank goodness, now had Some ! Flavor ! My husband had a frozen Celeste Pizza the next day before work that he said was great until I realized he did not have the leftovers and I told him hey there is real pizza in there from Cafe riviera ,which he tried next and also said this has no taste ! Not good if frozen pizza is great and theirs is "not good because it has no taste ". What is going on Cafe Riviera?

Such a nice change from the typical fast food crap at the mall. Homemade Italian food with friendly staff. Love it

Great food in a pleasant setting. In front they have a pizza counter with a wide variety but if you order 2 slices and a soda you're gonna pay 9 bucks. In back of that, you push your tray along for your choice of delicious Italian entrees which come with a nice salad and these awesome homemade breadsticks. Again, a little expensive considering you're eating in a cafeteria, but food is pretty awesome and freshly made. In a perfect world they would have free drink refills, considering how much you're paying for the food. But I've been going for years and will keep going back.

The food is always good and fresh. With the salad, entree and breadsticks my husband and I always get 2 meals out of 1. You can't go wrong with their coupons or groupon deals either.

Damn good pizza here. I even had the Italian good in the back but I would give that around 3-4 stars so that drops it down a notch. I have eaten with groupons or without. The tomato pie with basil and garlic is my absolute favorite. Most people see the price per slice and feel that a pie is over priced but it is not. Get one and take it home but save your money on the Italian dishes I don't believe they are worth the price.

Cafe Riviera has been a staple for my family during trips to Neshaminy Mall. I usually stick with the pizza, but on a more recent trip I went with the salmon. It was surprisingly delicious. Get a salad, so you can get the spicy breadsticks on the side, they are my favorite.

So I have walk by this place many times in neshaminy and I never felt the urge to wanna try it b/c all I saw was pizza as you walk by. I thought thats all they sold. Man, was I wrong! I bought a groupon for this place and thought I should finally check this place out and I can happily say this place is great! the portions are HUGE! I ordered the lasagna and veal parm for take out one night, both excellent! I had to freeze over half of each entree as I said the portions are HUGE! Cant finish it. Its cafeteria style, you pick out what you want and they get it for you. This past wknd I went w/a friend before heading to the movies. I got the chix cacciatore this time and this was tasty as well! As a matter of fact Ill be eating the leftovers tonite for dinner :) If you havent tried this place out, I highly recommend it. Dont just walk by it like I did for many years!

When I was a kid my mother and grandmother would go shopping every Saturday with me in tow. Sure enough Saturdays included lunch at Cafe Riviera. I'm happy to report that 25 years later the food is still as good as it was when I was little. I think some of the employees are the same too! Pizza is great, but they make seriously good cheesesteaks. I know you wouldn't expect it from this place, but if you are in the Neshaminy Mall and want a cheesesteak go here instead of the food court. You can thank me later.

I have four kids. The Buffet style keeps them busy and there is no wait. The food is great. I have been going to Cafe Riviera for years and our whole family loves this place.

A really well-appointed cafeteria-style eatery. Dining room is pretty nice, considering that there is no table service and one carries one's own food to the table (they bus the trays when the meal is over). Food itself is credible and pretty good tasting, without being super delicious. Portions are a respectable size an the quality of the veal I had was good. If I was at the mall and wanted a real meal instead of fast food I would consider returning. Not, as far as this reviewer is concerned, food tasty enough to be worth seeking out.

My husband and I love the tomato and basil pie. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the groupon was a steal. My kids love this place as well. They enjoy their cheese steak stromboli. We are going to have to try the Italian dishes on a night that we don't have the kids.

If you like Italian food, try the Cafe. They make authentic home-made pasta dishes, for a resonable price. I love the atmosphere, I believe it's family owned. For a cafeteria-style meal, pretty nice.

I keep going back. That is, whenever I am at the Neshaminy Mall and hungry. The food is good even if the prices are rather expensive considering it's cafeteria-style. Ordered two dishes, no soda and the bill was almost 30 bucks! Still, I enjoy the salad and the breadsticks and the people there are so nice.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
