Wow is this place is great but in a slightly empty location, sitting on hill on Rt. 512, between Bath & Bushkill. Came here for a late breakfast & glad I did. Had the Humberto wrap, a bit spicy but awesome, coffee too. Looks like I found the best spot in the Valley. They also do dinners on Friday & Saturday only, BYOB. If they put a bed in here I won't leave, that good.

My wife and I are not necessarily breakfast lovers, but the variety of brunch options was a treat. We reviewed the menu online and are glad to announce that what arrives to your table is much more than expected. Delicious and definitely worth the short drive from Bethlehem. Jumbars, Blue Sky, and Billy's Diner be ware... there is a better place with more bang for your buck and much better service.

Bean Bath is a hidden gem. Tucked in a strip mall, you can tell it is a family owned business by a family who cares. The specialty coffees are delicious and the food is even better. Reasonable prices and friendly service.

Quite a cute cafe with a standout menu. Something about it reminded me of a beach vibe, maybe the music or the colors of the nicely appointed interior. Coffee was hot, they had raw sugar (my favorite). I tried the smoked salmon eggs benedict and enjoyed every bite. Service was great. I appreciate their website too, which I browsed before I went in to eat. You can check out the menus and all of the business info is there. It's a gem in an unexpected location. I look fwd to my next visit!

Update: did not have a very good experience here today. This is maybe the 9th or 10th time I've been here. I understand it's a Sunday and it's busy. I know there will be a wait for a table, even for 2. I stood behind a positive review of this place even after having mixed up meals in the past. They were short-staffed that day. Today, however, they appeared to have a normal staff level for a Sunday. After a 20 minute wait we were seated around the same time as another table of 2. 6 minutes later the waitress came over to take our drink order. We ordered drinks and meals. 2 plain coffees and 2 omelets. We set a timer to see how long the coffee took. 10 minutes: nada. The couple seated right after us had been served specialty coffees already. Same waitress. Hmm. 15 minutes: nada. Same waitress was delivering take out containers and checks to the other tables. At this point there was 1 couple waiting for a table, not a big rush to clear people out. A couple more minutes...nothing. We walked out. Sorry, guys, but that was not acceptable. 2 cups of coffee poured out of the pot should not take over 15 minutes to serve.

Pricey and service was below average. Young girl was not very attentive. Coffee was burnt. Food was good but not great for an $8 breakfast. Go south on 512 to the diners

Ordered a chicken Cesar wrap to take out. It was disgusting. Chicken was SO dry and the croutons were stale and there was hardly any dressing. The only good part were the fries which probably weren't made there.

I visited the wonderful hidden spot during the summer and have gone back repeatedly due to the service, great breakfast choices and the views. My mom and I chose the spot due to the memories it stirs of our old times in St. Croix which we miss desperately. We have had great conversations with others who came when we did which gave us something to appreciate also.

I want to give the Beanbath Cafe a 5-star review because it deserves it, but Yelp has some program that randomly takes some of five stars off. It's happened before when I really thought a place deserved it. The food here is excellent. The first time I had eggs benedict with smoked salmon, the next time breakfast quesadilla. They brewed my ice tea fresh for me. The decor also wants to make me go over and over. Nice leather sofas, one with a large Buddha picture over it. Cute salt and pepper shakers, art in the hallway.

Fantastic food & wide selection of coffees, tea & smoothies. Breakfast was superb especially the eggs Benedict. I love the atmosphere & attentive staff. Fun tropical music. A breath of fresh air in our area. Look at the beautiful view or big screen TV.

The wait staff was very friendly. Our server was very friendly and engaging and made us feel very comfortable here. Samantha was really nice. You'll be happy if she is your server. It was the first time I visited this place, but certainly not the last. I always get simple food. Over medium eggs, ham, toast, OJ, coffee. It came in a reasonable amount of time even though the place was full. The atmosphere, despite the capacity being filled, was quiet and casual. Not hectic. Prices are reasonable and the portions are appropriate. Found this place on Yelp! Was impressed by all of the reviews. It truly does live up to the expectations I had based on what Yelp reviewers had to say.

I had really high hopes for the little spot after reading the reviews. We drove about 25 mins to have breakfast here. The inside is super cute and cozy, and they have a nice sized breakfast menu. On a Thursday morning there was a out 5 tables and one server. As you know, a server can make or break your dining experience. Unfortunately, our server just wasn't good. If you are solo then you must be a strong experienced server and able to keep up. She lacked the ability to know how to multitask. I asked for lemon with my water 3x and waited 25 mins until she finally remembered to bring it. We arrived before another party of two and ordered yet she placed their order to the kitchen before ours so they were literally leaving when we finally got our food. It appeared that they were regulars and got special treatment. There was a gentleman who came out once to clear and wipe some tables, I'm not sure his role but I later saw him sitting on the sofa down the hall having coffee and doing paperwork, so I presume he was the owner r manager. It would have been nice if he helped out the solo server a bit more. On a bright note, the food was pretty tasty. My verde breakfast burrito was very yummy and my mom enjoyed her frittata. But as I said, service counts a lot for the overall experience and it left a lot to be desired.

Really good food. I came here for breakfast the bacon is amazing. I would highly recommend this place for anyone to eat at. Very hip place in a random spot in Bath, PA. Great job Bean Bath Cafe! I will come again.

Love this place. Had breakfast here and it was awesome. Lots of interesting menu choices and portions or very nice. Priced on the higher side for breakfast but jot expensive. Small place so it can fill up. Service was on the slow side but we were there during a peak time, every table was fully. Can't wait to go back and try the lunch menu. Definitely a hidden gem!

We were hankering for a good breakfast that didn't have any of us in the kitchen - we had a rough night the night before. We drove the 20 mins to Bath on a foggy and rainy day and happened upon BeanBath Cafe. We walked in and were transported to an exotic locale. They have a huge beach mural, African art, eclectic decor, bamboo facades, the works. The music was tranquil and matched the setting. Walking in you could definitely look past the dreary outside. My husband and I ate from their breakfast menu and were delighted by the quality and quantity. I had a Santa Barbara bagel sandwich - which is normally not my go to choice of bread, but it was delectable. My husband ordered a Napa valley Greek frittata and licked his plate clean. We also imbibed their freshly made coffee and it was spot on. We will definitely be back, rain or shine!

Came here for breakfast, ordered the Serrano Panini and San Diego French toast. So delish. Also ordered their caramel macchiato.. I love coffee and am a stickler for flavor and I really enjoyed my iced caramel macchiato. Would def come Back here again. Casual ambiance, seems like a place that would have limited menu but it's actually quite extensive , def a lot of choices.

I live in a rural area where there isn't much of anything and certainly no outstanding restaurants (especially breakfast joints). Then I found this place online! Don't be turned off by the fact it's in a little strip mall in the nowhere's land. It's adorable and the food is soooo on point. I sat at a surfboard table with my mom and got the tex mex omelette with a soy cappuccino. She got California scramble. Both dishes were meticulous and served very quickly despite it being very crowded. The hash browns were perfectly crunchy and the omelette was generously stuffed. Will 100% return and order lunch!

This little place in an out of the way mini strip of stores is a hidden gem. First of it has a great view and is nicely decorated. Coffees are big and beautifully foamy. The breakfast menu is extensive and the cook is no stranger to bold flavors, lots of chorizo and chili with eggs on the menu. My son had an excellent hot chocolate with 4 inches of whipped cream. There are some creative eggs Benedict on the menu, burritos and scrambles. The cowboy killer is very popular. I haven't been in here for lunch yet but I hear the turkey club is the best anywhere. Well worth the drive on a Saturday morning.

While my kids were at a function, I looked up places in the area. Now that I have eaten here, I am not sure why this place doesn't have a plane flying overhead for people to find. Talk about diamond in the rough! The food here is nothing short of spectacular and it came out quickly. What was even better was it was accommodating. The staff was super nice and my 2 yr old felt comfortable. They had high chairs and a kids' menu. Wifi is available, as well as a tv to watch if you are eating solo. There was plenty to choose from, menu wise, and an even more impressive drink/cafe selection. There is room to spread out, but overall about 15 tables, so moderate groups could fit. For the future, I am going to frequent this place even though it's off my beaten path.

Good food! I had some kind of scrambler with sausage, mushrooms, spinach, etc. I would totally come back! Service was a little disappointing and I feel like we were slightly ignored, possibly because I'm in my 20s and I was with my teenage brother. Maybe the waitress didn't expect us to tip her? Oh well, I always tip 20%+. Other than lackluster service, I'd say this place is pretty awesome and the prices are reasonable. There aren't many restaurants in the area, so it definitely should do well.

This is a great little gem for breakfast, lunch, or coffee talk. So far, I've enjoyed their customizable scrambles and burritos, as well as their mint cappuccino. Everything tastes fresh and and they've put a lot of thought into their preparation and menu. Lots of excellent choices, though the prices seem slightly high for the area. They're also dog friendly! There's only a couple outdoor tables, so be prepared for a possible wait in case you bring the pooch. As far as service goes, I've been here twice over the past couple weeks and the first time it was wonderful (attentive, helpful, and friendly), and the second time service was pleasant but a tad disorganized and slow. Nothing that would keep me from returning, however. It's definitely worth checking this place out!

Eh it was ok. Bland potato cubes, and over priced. Ordered a side of pork roll for 3 dollars and got one slice. Probably won't be returning. Once you've been to griddle 145 you kinda know what breakfast is supposed to be.

A very disappointing experience when we stopped in for breakfast on 1/31/15 to celebrate my birthday. Server asked us if we were in a hurry because the cook was running a little late, so we ordered our beverages and thought, so what's a few minutes. She then took our breakfast order and 35 minutes later we're still sitting there. We will never trust you again. No explanation or apology as to why the cook wasn't showing up, since the weather was clear and sunny. We asked for the beverage bill ($8!!) and left to find a place interested in being ready for customers, the Wind Gap Diner. Thanks for putting a damper on the start of my birthday weekend, Bean Bath. You suck.

Definitely quality food, innovative combinations, prompt and friendly service. To earn five stars, a few minor tweaks would mean ensuring the salmon in the Bodega Bay Benedict was at least room temperature (and not refrigerator cold), providing better quality jellies, and dancing the chopped tomatoes across the grill so that they're not (again) refrigerator cold on a delightfully steamy, tasty Greek frittata. The strip mall location fits culturally with the Bath aesthetic--old world, industrial tiredness meets unpretentious, unrestrained commercialization. The interior is comfortable, noisy, goofball eclectic. The front entry provides no relief for diners from the cold weather, a particularly irksome situation when clueless customers stand with the door open while they carry on a conversation. Despite having given our name to the wait staff for a table, guests seated themselves before us with the help of the host; thus, there seems to be a disconnect in their seating procedure. Nonetheless, once inside and seated, the food and wait staff were worth the wait.

Delicious. They have tofu scramble and non-dairy milk for lattes. Portions are large and service is excellent.

Good portions sizes for the price, good selection of coffee & tea drinks (their iced tea is fresh-brewed tea poured over ice - Delicious!), & a very pleasant atmosphere to grab & go or sit & relax. They even offer a drive-thru, however everything is made FRESH, so expect to wait a bit. They have a great variety of menu items for a coffeehouse/cafe (smoked salmon omelet, eggs benedict, french toast, salads, wraps, paninis, etc.). I love having BeanBath Cafe as a meal option instead of the standard diner fare.

I really wanted to like this place. It's in a little strip mall, but the decor is nice, the view is amazing, there aren't a lot of options in this area, and people seem to like it. The first time we ate here, about a month previous to our bad experience, was for lunch. Our 4-top was underwhelmed with the paninis. We decided to give it another try with our kids, and between the overpriced bill, mediocre food, and bad service we definitely won't be trying this place again. The only thing that was really good about the visit was the espresso. I am very certain that the apple cider on the specials board was a pre-mix. It was sickeningly sweet, and didn't taste like fresh cider. In fall, when there are excellent local options such as Scholl's Orchard, WHY would you serve anything else? The food was very underwhelming, and in in my opinion, overpriced for the quality/quantity. $7.00 for 2 thin pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar? Really? The chocolate chips on the pancakes were either fake chocolate or rancid, because they didn't taste right. And, there was a strange spice combo on the roasted nuts. What really put us over the edge, though, was the service. We were the ONLY table in the restaurant. The waitress was more interested in closing up (an hour before they closed), than providing us with great service. She cleaned while we waited for her to take our order, she cleaned while our order was sitting in the window, she had a full conversation with someone from the kitchen while standing next to our table holding our hot drinks, and she swept the floor towards us (YUCK!) after I asked for the bill! You could literally see the dust flying through the air in the sunlight. I was ready to chalk this up to just a bad experience, and emailed the owners afterwards asking them to call me for honest feedback. Had I received a call back about our experience, I wouldn't have written this public review. If others are happy with the food and prices (we certainly weren't), methinks the owners should be reevaluating their wait staff. $45 (pre-tip) for 2 milks, 2 capps, 3 pancake dishes and a muffin.

I miss BeanBath sooooooo much! Now living all the way in Colorado, I constantly dream of coming back here for an aloha latte and a pico rivera quesadilla, yuuuuum. Lyn, the owner's wife and lead chef is AMAZING - you will NEVER be disappointed in her cooking. That freakin lady is a BEAST!

This place has the most delicious coffee concoctions in the Lehigh Valley! (Or anywhere for that matter) The breakfasts are superb! The benedicts are great, as well as the omelets. You won't be disappointed.

We've been here many times for breakfast, once for lunch and once for dinner. Each meal has been excellent, and the service always great. Their dinners were fantastic! We need to go back more often. Their portions are always generous, the ingredients fresh and wonderfully combined. They're also very good with kids. My son once left a few of his action figures behind. The next time we came in, the owner approached him and told him she kept his guys safe - he was so happy! They do a delightful job with everything - I recommend this establishment to everyone!

I drove 30 minutes just for breakfast here. Past by about 10 diners on the way. Why? Because the Bodega Bay Benedict is close-your-eyes-and-savor-the-taste-good. The rest of the menu is just as amazing. Be careful eating here if you don't live close because you might become a commuter. This place is excellent.

Very eclectic crowd for Sunday morning breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our coffee and food. I haven't come across too many places that have excelled at making a breakfast burrito such as the one I just enjoyed here. Most places add salsa to the eggs making the burrito itself soggy and unappetizing. Not this place, I had the Humberto Burrito and it was absolutely fantastic, though next time I may forego the hot sauce it was even a little spicy for me. We will definitely be back!

I will definitely amend my review if I go back and try again because I know there are extenuating circumstances that factor into a bad experience. I went in and every table was seated...which is fine; it's the holidays, people are off work and kids aren't in school. Both servers looked at us and never acknowledged us or said there would be any type of wait. We stood there for a few minutes before a waitress said the only seats open where facing a window to which we said was fine. We waited 25 minutes and neither server came to apologize or bring us a water even. I watched as they continuously walked by tables without clearing plates. After 25 minutes a girl came over and apologized and said it would be a while before our food came out. We asked how long and she said about half an hour. Now, there was a 12 top who was there when we arrived and I knew it would be much longer than 30 minutes for our food. This really isn't a place capable of handling a party of 12. If anything they should make larger groups call ahead so they're staffed better. From what I could see there was one cook and two servers and both of them looked a bit flustered. I really want to come back and try the food so I can amend my one star but first impressions are important. I really hope my next experience is better if I decide to go back!

Can't add much to the plaudits this joint has earned. It is as good as the reviews state, right there in the middle of an open field north of throbbing downtown Bath,PA. One strategy to consider: order one savory dish (eggs Benedict anything) and one sweet one (any of the wonderful french toasts) and split with a dining companion. Best of BeanBath, right there. Then hike it off on the Appalachian Trail, just a few miles to the north.

I'm in the Bethlehem area every Sunday, and have been trying out the various diners for lunch. I haven't encountered anything to write about, so this week I decided to check Yelp to see if there were any really highly recommended places for a casual (solo) lunch. The review for the Bean Bath Cafe looked great, so I gave it a try. I'm glad that I did. I arrived just before 1 PM on Sunday, and the place was packed. The menu was very interesting, and I had a difficult time choosing just what to have - I finally chose a San Bruno Club (ham, turkey, bacon, cheese and the rest). It was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten! The waitress was attentive and very pleasant, as were the rest of the staff. Goodbye to local diners; I know where I'm going for lunch from now on!

Hands down, best breakfast in the valley. It blows Billy's diner out if the water. The eggs Benedict is amazing and always cooked perfectly. The breakfast nachos are out of this world too. The atmosphere is comfortable and the staff is always super friendly. I'm do glad I live close by!

We took my wife here for Mother's Day breakfast. The front of house staff was very inexperienced and it showed. After sitting for 20 minutes we were asked to move to another table. Both our orders came out wrong. I ordered a simple cheese omelet which came out with ham in it. My wife is a vegetarian and her frittata had pieces of bacon in it. We both left still hungry and agreed not to go back.

This is an unusually good restaurant in a very unusual location. Its placement in a small strip mall in the outskirts of the tiny borough of Bath would suggest a typical greasy spoon cafe, but the stylish decor and the eclectic menu dispel this notion rather quickly. The service was friendly and enthusiastic and the food fresh and reasonably priced. For lunch I had a half tuna salad sandwich on a delicious sourdough bread and a cup of rich, slightly sweet onion soup. We were so impressed that we returned the next morning for the $5 breakfast special, which included coffee and was an amazing value even for this area. Although the posted hours indicate a breakfast and lunch only place, the table menu shows a dinner menu as well; we will return to BeanBath for dinner real soon.

Great place all around....a real hidden gem....delectable dishes, great friendly staff, nice place and nice view. I'm addicted to their flank steak wrap....I could have it for lunch every day. And a drive thru...pretty cool

This place is a rip. I paid $16 for a Caesar salad and chicken salad sandwich. They try to make a trendy atmosphere which they kinda pull off but this place is really not worth your time or money. No surprise they changed the menu completely already. I'd be surprised if this place makes it to June 2012. You're better off going to My Place or The Daily Grind if you're in Bath. Anyone who gave this place a good review probably works there or has friends or family there...don't let them fool you.

I stop here every day for coffee. It's fresh, fragrant, flavorful...not bitter. The prices are very fair and some breakfast choices are cheaper than the local diners! I have only heard positive things about the food but I will post a review of it once I eat some. Also, the Cafe is full of interesting pieces of art, international music, and even games hidden in nooks and crannies...the hallway to the back is an art gallery.

This is my first YELP review, this nicely funky lil place deserves every praise it gets!! Yeah a bit outta the way but very much worth the 5-10 minutes effort. The food is inspired, fresh and excellent. The waitstaff is young; but vibrant and buzzing meaning that they are attentive but not obnoxious. The menu is balanced and again- inspired- the owners and CHEFS know what they are doing. I am an aspring home chef and this place makes me want to reach higher. If you watch CHOPPED and think- I wish I could eat stuff like that - Bean Bath is for you - the flavors are familiar but elevated !! Easy 5 stars and I will be back as often as I can!!!

This was my first time at beanbathcafe. My wife had breakfast with her running team and thought the world of this place so we went back for lunch. The place is tucked in a sparsely populated strip of stores off of RT 512 just a touch north of southmore golf course. They featured a nice selection of special entrees and soup along with a nice menu of daily fare. I ordered a pesto, chicken and roasted red pepper panini. It was awesome. Served with perfectly cooked and season French fries. The panini was cooked perfectly and the grilled chicken was clearly prepared with intelligence and care. Meaning it had great flavor and texture. The decor matches the food. A touch upscale but friendly and comfortable. Not standoffish in any manor. It is not a large cafe but comfortable.

My family and I have been eating breakfast at BeanBath since the early summer...we only wish we had found it sooner! We also wish we could get there more often... We have sampled most of their breakfast options, with our favorites being the awesome King Kong Breakfast Nachos (I can only manage a half of the little kong, they are huge!), the Cowboy Killer, the California Scramble, and the super yummy pancakes. I'm pretty sure these are the best pancakes I have ever tasted. I wish I could get the recipe...they are that good. The cafe is clean and the decor is refreshing. The large mugs of coffee and tea are welcoming on an early Sunday morning. We never feel rushed and the staff are always very warm and friendly when we dine there. We will be trying their dinner service this weekend and hope that it's as good as everything else we have enjoyed there. A true gem we only wish was just a little closer to Bethlehem. :)

Excellent hidden gem!!! Read about this place online and decided to go for a drive. Well worth it. We've been several times now and have yet to have a bad item. The fries are to die for. The sandwiches and wraps were fabulous. Pancakes were superb. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual yet attentive. The staff all work together and help each other out waiting on tables, clearing tables, etc., and in between are personable and friendly. The red velvet latte is probably the best drink I've ever had. Even their "plain old" coffee is a step above of everyone else. Definitely worth the trip from wherever you are

I have been here about a total of five times and everything has been pretty good up until this last time. The food is good, although the breakfast burrito is unbearably spicy and the Santa Barbara bagel sandwich gets a little soggy. However my major complaint is the service. First of all, when you come in there is no hostess to seat you but there are servers so this can cause a little confusion and I am sure stresses the servers out. Its like a half coffee shop half restaurant that can't decide, so it leaves everything a little miffed at what to do. Same goes for paying the check, Does the server take it or do I go up to the register? My final complaint is in regards to who I am assuming is the owner, A few friends and I went for breakfast this Sunday. While we may look like rowdy "kids" to the owner, I assure you we are all well employed, young professionals, who can definitely pay for our checks and tip well on top of it. So next time please don't judge a book by its cover, Sir. We had already paid and were deciding what we were doing next when he barges up to us and demands, " What are we doing here? Did you need the check? What's going on?" We had been at the restaurant less than an hour, with jackets in hand, and were about to leave. I assured him we had paid and were on our way out. He continued to rush us. I had no intentions of camping out all day although the atmosphere of coffee shop would suggest you could if you needed to get work done on your laptop etc. I was so upset by what he said and his tone. I've never been treated so rudely and I am really sad this experience ruined the entire place for me. I honestly made a yelp specifically for this purpose and I've lived in Philadelphia for around 6 years and have been to some really great and some really awful restaurants and this is the first complaint I have ever written about any restaurant.

How is it that I did not know about this little gem before? Possibly the best coffee I have ever had. Pleasant environment, attractive furniture, good food. Prices very reasonable. Wonderful alternative to my many workdays at Panera and Starbucks.

Try this place for the first time last week end. It was amazing and we will be back!! We both ordered omlettes which were cooked perfect and delious! The coffee was amazing! (what happened to the coffee in the LV?!) I am really glad to see funky little places like this popping up and we will frequent so they stay!!

Amazing food, atmosphere, and service. Love stopping by whenever I'm in town to visit family. Wish they were open in the evenings.

This place was a little out of the way in a tiny plaza in the middle of nowhere, but totally worth the trip! They have amazing breakfast options that are served all day, ranging from the "normal" stuff, to a selection of fritatta and breakfast burritos. I noticed they do dinner on Friday and Saturday and definitely plan on checking it out, the dinner options looked pretty upscale for a coffee shop.
