Upon walking in I thought this place had everything wrong going for it: No hostess to great us when we first walked in...Check Tacky, dated decor.....Check Opened the menu and thought they have way too many things on the menu...Check Looked at their wing menu (yes a separate menu just for wings...see picture) and thought way too many things (and a few WTF?!?!? again view pic).....Check But... Our server was very nice. I witnessed someone going through and cleaning up/sweeping the floor a few time. And most importantly, despite my fears, the food was actually good! It happened to be wing night so we ordered 6 Chili Garlic and 6 Horseradish. The wings were plump and crispy. Both were very good flavor wise (mild heat) the chili garlic had Asian flavor too it. (Since this is a BBQ place why no smoked wings?!?!) We were able to weed through the expansive menu fairly easily. We immediately ruled out Salads,Surf and Turf, and Pasta (they have a pasta night?!?! it's a BBQ joint....why do you need a pasta night?!?!?) With all the options on the menu (and again there are too many) might I suggest a BBQ platter for two?!?!? Maybe it was on the menu and I missed it? I would have liked a brisket, pulled pork, and rib combo but the only thing that would have worked was a 4 person meal...there were only two of us. We ended up ordering the brisket sandwich and a smoked turkey sandwich. The sandwiches were identical (same bread, swiss, slaw.) The brisket and smoked turkey were both very juicy, tender, and flavorful. My girlfriend thought the flavor of the turkey was overpowered by the swiss (I didn't believe so but I'll add this to the review). My only complaint would be the bread was grilled but it wasn't grilled long enough. As such, it had a greasy feel and left oil on your fingers...if it cooked a little longer it might have been better. The sandwiches came with "chips" which we both thought would be no frills potato chips....not the case! These were hand cut fried potato coins. Some were fried longer than others but once salt and pepper were added these were delicious. We asked for our bill and were shocked that the two sandwiches, 12 wings, and a 22 oz draft beer came to Drum Roll Please.......$28.00 WWWHHHHATTTTTT?!?!? I walked in thinking a 2 stars maybe less. Finished at 3 1/2 stars. If I'm ever in the area I'll be back and hopefully they'll take my advice and scale back that menu.

My mom and I were heading back home to Long Island after our stay in upstate New York, particularly Ithaca. After quite a long drive, we needed to refuel and I didn't think I was able to survive on organic trail mix as my lunch and dinner substitute. Luckily, we spotted this restaurant which wasn't hard to find at all. I mean, this establishment was quite capacious with plenty of parking space as well. bit.ly/171YEdV While my mother went inside to ask for a table, I explored the rest of Big Daddy's with my pup, Hammy. bit.ly/18hZMFq Going through the side entrance ( bit.ly/16NM4MG ), the things that stuck out to me were an assortment of arcade games and an air hockey table arranged in a hallway that led to an open lounge area with a full bar. bit.ly/19K9JyJ I was utterly bewildered by the sheer size of this restaurant/game room/bar room conglomerate. I walked back outside and sat down on one of the sleek mahogany tables overlooking...the highway. bit.ly/GSexbf Lol! They even had these hooks attached to the walls to tether dog leashes. :) This was only the left side of the entrance! We sat on the other side. bit.ly/19D5IsF Our waiter was some teenager who seemed pretty frazzled and distracted. I ordered the codfish burger with chips, a crunchy pickle and tartar sauce on the side. bit.ly/1c66AKT The codfish was overly battered, bland, and a bit greasy. I also barely ate my chips. (2/5) My parents ordered the something moo burger ( bit.ly/1c677ML ) and pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw ( bit.ly/1hGeM53 ). They were definitely not impressed. (3/5) We ate some lackluster burgers and grew even more disgruntled when we had to ask our waiter for condiments, glasses of water, and the check. Delayed response? NO!! He never gave us ANY of the things we needed the entire time! We were so fed up that we went to the front desk and just asked for the check when we were done. In a huge yet absolutely barren restaurant, the waiter tended to one family inside the building. Wow. We paid for the tab and simply left with no tip! This franchise has an aesthetically lovely construction that is simply a facade for its crap food and crappier service.

We had a very nice dinner here, the food was very good and the service was great! The ribs were delicious, the cornbread was average but the sweet potato fries with marshmallow dipping sauce made up for It! We'll be back the next time we come up to the outlets

Great sauces and appetizers. Pulled pork sandwich was very good also. My only complaint would be that there were no healthy meals to choose from. Don't recall seeing any vegetables on the menu either.

I've been here a few times so have had a few of the items on the menu. It's a very easy place to stop as we have a couple of young children and it's always clean. As mentioned we have been here a few times; the first shortly after it opened and then on occasion since then. Everything has improved since they opened. The service has gotten better, the food has improved and it has still stayed clean. Our visit this time was no exception to the improvement, our server was very good and she was attentive to us and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was solid; I had the French Dip which was tender and their home made fries which were tasty. If you are looking for a solid place and have kiddos give this place a try.

where to begin...filthy carpet through out, bathroom floor strewn with debris and filth, pot roast dinner looked gray and poorly reheated, brown gravy had no flavor and texas toast was hard and dry....my husbands pork bbq not much better. Wait staff repeatedly walked right past dirty tables and floor from previous costumers...apparently not their job since the bus boy that came on shift immediately cleaned them, pushing his floor sweeper practically right up to our feet while we were eating! Obviously not going back there again!!

I would give zero stars for the Fernwood Resort location in Bushkill. I was excited to try this new restaurant after seeing the brochure at the check-in desk. But I never got to try the food. Our group of eight was greeted politely by the hostess and led to the big back room. It was a Monday evening around 6:30 and the place had about four tables with guests. She then tells us she has to ask the server if she can put the tables together. There were two other large groups already. We asked if we could just have two tables instead if she couldn't move the tables. At that point, the server comes out and says he can't serve us. The hostess apologized and said she could put us on the wait list. We asked how long would it be and she replied "I don't know." I have never been taken to a table to be told I wouldn't be served. Then, to be told I could choose to wait indefinitely for a table in an uncrowded restaurant. Needless to say, we left!

Great wings!! Tons of flavors and great service! I don't care for the atmosphere it looks much nicer on the outside. Inside it's 100% diner. I haven't tried anything but their wings, but I would recommend it for any wing lover :)

Ribs are good. Burgers are good. But it's managed by teenagers. Did not see one adult in sight all 3 times we went. With that, service not so great. Otherwise, food was ok. We will most likely go back, but would really like to see the level of service to improve.

Well, this was another one of my favorite local restaurants that went in the shitter. Back when it was in its old location, I went here at least once a week. My daughter used to have field hockey games at the high school and afterwards all the girls would pile in my Oldsmobile and we'd go to Big Daddy's for sandwiches and ginger ale. I did that for the better part of a decade, or at least until the field hockey coach told me "Harold, your daughter graduated 7 years ago. Please stop inviting my players in your vehicle." Anyway, I used to sit in that weird section to the right that looked like a combination of New Mexico and outer space. I would always order two Italian Dips and a ginger ale. The staff was always responsive and would never charge me extra for requesting a mix of ranch dressing and Alfredo sauce instead of the normal marinara. After an incident where I got a little too comfortable and went into the kitchen pretending I was a rodeo bull, I laid low for a few weeks. When I felt like i gave it enough time to blow over, I went back only to find an empty plot of land. I ended up blowing my horn for nearly 20 minutes in the parking lot, half in disgust, half in optimism that someone would show to take my order. I probably would have continued if the manager of the nearby Travelodge motel didn't come over and rudely inform me that he called the cops. He also told me that Big Daddy's had moved down 611 towards Bartonsville. I'll tell ya what, I see no resemblance between the new Big Daddy's and the Big Daddy's i came to know and love. When I walked in the place, I thought I walked into a damn Texas Roadhouse, minus the unlimited free peanuts and periodic song and dance. What pissed me off the most is that I didn't see any familiar faces, especially the open face of my beautiful Italian Dip. I reluctantly ordered a pulled pork sandwich and was a little encouraged that they still served ginger ale. Well, my encouragement turned to near demonic possession when I took a sip and learned they had switched from Seagram's to Canada Dry, the Daewoo of ginger ale. I started foaming at the mouth a bit and got some strange looks from a table of children in cowboy hats. Their pulled pork was terrible and I ended taking it out on their cute little bathroom. I paid with my Trout Unlimited Visa and wrote in a $2.00 tip, making the zeros look like a pair of boobs. After a few more strange looks, I backed my car up to the building and used it to climb on the metal bull they had outside. After the first few verses of 'Save a horse, ride a Cowboy' I was asked to stop singing and leave. No Seagram's ginger ale, no Italian dip, and its in the parking lot of some dumpy hotel, this new Big Daddy's is a far cry from its glory days.

If no starts was an option that's what this place would have gotten ... We used to come here every trip and where looking foward to coming today .. The food was awful and the drinks we are used to where not available .. The sever didn't care that we where concerned about our food or drinks he just didn't care .. Never offered refills and my dads food came out wrong 2 times .. The check came and nothing was comped he also refused to get a manager ,. We finally said what is going on because we are about to walk out on the check .. He said well if you do I will straighten your check out tomorrow no harm ... Umm what ?!?! .. The whole management staff was missing and at a party he said ?!? .. So he left made a phone call and came back and took some money off the check and gave a coupon for next time lol .. As if we will go back .... This kid was lucky we are in the food industry and where concerned for HIS job .. Bc we should have walked out ..

Good family environ. Good service. BBQ was a bit short of expectations. Ribs a little heavy on sauce and not as much on the tense side. Good chowder and burgers.

Service was outstanding. Food quality and taste was poor. Ran out of fries so they brought us soggy microwaved baked potatoes. Had 3 kids in tow and was told they also ran out of crayons. Neat setting just don't order the food

We have been coming to Big Daddy's for years. it had become an annual part of our Poconos vacations. But I think its best days are gone. I miss the old place. It was small, quaint, and you felt like you were in on something special, something unique, that maybe was a "locals'" favorite. They had the same waitstaff year after year. Andre was an annual regular who we would always ask for (our kids loved him). Even last year, after they moved to their new location, the food was still good and Andre still there. But we went a few weeks ago and something has changed and not at all for the good. The ribs were still decent, which is why it gets 2 stars. But that's all. Andre is gone, the food was otherwise poor (an $11.00 appetizer was tiny), my kid's hot dog looked like it was the most overprocessed meat product (no way it was beef). The nearly $20 rib platter used to look like a spectacle. Now, they lazily dump beans and slaw into tiny little plastic cups. Just not appetizing. Even my beer tasted off. The service was meh. Nothing awful, but not great. Needed to ask for napkins multiple times. Sadly, I do not anticipate this being a continuing tradition when visiting the Casino or any other Poconos destinations.

Most of our party of six ordered pulled pork and while the flavor was decent, the food temperature was luke warm at best. Drinks were not kept filled and just felt like the place is average at best. Would not recommend and we won't be back.

We arrived at 10 of 10 on a Saturday night so we decided to just get take out. I wish the place was open later. We had just got done snow tubing and it would have been nice to sit down to eat. The food took less than 5 minutes to come out and was still hot when I ordered corn bread but it was not with my order. However, the food melted in your mouth. The BBQ pork sandwich was to die for and the Aujus sandwich was so tender it was criminal. I would definitely recommend this establishment and I cant wait to go back again.

I ate at this restaurant on Columbus Day weekend with 3 friends. The restaurant was clean and spacious. It took a few minutes for our waiter to come to our table and take our drink order. By the time our waiter came we all had chosen what we wanted for dinner. Our drinks came but I did not recieve a straw. When our waiter finally passed by, I asked him for a straw and it took about 15 minutes for me to get one. When our apps came out they were brought to us by the manager and he had mistakenly given us the apps that belonged to another table (ours were exactly the same). After our apps while we were waiting for our entrees, my friend needed a refill, she did not get it for about 15 minutes. The waiters excuse was that they were refilling the coke dispenser. Finally our dinners came out but only 3 of us got ours. While we waited about 5 minutes for our friend to get hers our waiter finally came and informed us that my friends pulled pork sandwich was not made because (in his words) "the kitchen made the pork but they didn't pull it so they had to 86 it". We were all upset by this because he waited to tell us about her order not being made when the rest of us got our food. The waiter said he would give us desert on him for the mistake. We informed him that we don't want desert. Our friend ordered something else and the rest of us ate our dinners. Her dinner didn't come out until we finished our meals. Two of us ordered ribs and they were tasteless and the bacon on the bacon wrapped shrimp that the other ordered was all fat. When our other friend finally got her meal she said her philly cheese steak was ok. After all of us finally ate we asked for the check and we saw that the philly cheese was on our bill. I went up to the hostess and asked for the manager and showed her what table we were at. She said she'd send him over right away. We waited 15 minutes and he never came so I went back to the hostess and told her I need to see the manager now because I've been waiting for him. He came about 5 minutes later and we explained that we were not happy that my friends dinner was on the bill when the waiter or kitchen didn't complete her original order. He explained to us that they ran out of pulled pork. This was news to us as the waiter said "they didn't pull" the pork. The manager went back to the waiter and had the dinner taken off our bill and when he came back he stated that the reason it was on the bill was because the waiter offered us dessert. Again we didn't want desert and we told the manager thats what we told the waiter. We had been there long enough waiting for our drinks and all of our food and we were very disappointed. All in all, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will not be going back myself. I felt very unappreciated as a patron and felt very under valued.

How can u go wrong with bbq? You can't, right? This place is really good. The smoked sausage was excellent, pulled pork was tasty, ribs were succulent. The mashed potato was ok, baked beans were nice n sweet, coleslaw was fresh, and the cinnamon apple was delish. Staff were awesome, excellent service. Clean. Friendly atmosphere. Good for kids and families. It's cheap too, dinners start at about $10 for a main dish and two sides. I recommend!!

after having a guy's day out.. a girl we know recommended that we go to big daddy's. we drove a good hour out of our way to check it out and weren't disappointed at all. as we were led to our seat, we noticed the family atmosphere, cleanliness, and huge portions of food -- no wonder everyone in there is heavy. the items on the menu were cheap -- maybe because we're all from new york and used to higher prices. the portions were large, and the food was pretty good. when it came to drinks, they have a pretty good selection for a family place. my friends and i ordered several different appetizers to start and were so happy with everything, we ordered even more as our entrees came. we ordered a ton of different entrees - steak, ribs, and brisket. everything was great except the brisket was dry. the staff that works there is very friendly and helpful. they've made a couple of mistakes with the orders but the rest of the service and food made up for it to where it was hard to realize that there was problems with our orders. we think that the place was so awesome on our first visit that everytime we're in PA, we always make a stop for dinner big daddy's.

Just opened 2/6/11. Drove by and liked the looks of the place so I decided this would be a good place for my gang of pals to pig out. The place was hopping for a Thursday night and for good reason, everything was delicious! Plenty of elbow room and very friendly service. Price was very reasonable, 5 guys ate real good for $85 including beverages. You must try the sausage sandwich. Best sausage I ever had. Melts in your mouth and perfect seasoning. The owner stopped by our table just to get our input on our meals. I highly recommend this place for families or any group, even a group of two. Great relaxed atmosphere and food. We will return.

We arrived at the Fernwood location for dinner to blaring rap music from a radio at the open doorway. I asked the hostess if the music was going to be turned down but she said it wont be because its for the hair braiding expo in the lobby. She said it isnt that loud if we sit in the back of the restaurant. I told her this might be why the restaurant is empy. We didnt want to sit through blaring rap music with two children so we left. Apparently the customer comes last at this place, we wont be back.

Nothing like the original before the fire. Now Big Daddy's is just another Pocono Tourist trap. Food was good but expensive for what you get and no better then any of the chains (eg Chilis across 611). Hostess ignored us at the entrance while she argued with another staff member. Waiter was good while he was around but he disappeared for about 30 mins, I guess for a break. We really wanted to like this place but it just has too many reasons to go somewhere else.

  • Mike A.

The BBQ was pretty good. The portions were solid and the prices good. But, a few of us got food that essentially cold and a couple of sides we asked for didn't make their way to the table. Funny to say, but the biggest problem we had with the restaurant was the lighting. It's such an important component of setting the atmosphere of a restaurant, but it doesn't seem to have gotten much consideration here. The result is that some of my dinner companions were sitting in a strangely bright spotlight, like we were in a cafeteria. If they were to just turn the lights down by 30% in the whole restaurant, the whole mood of the place would be so much more awesome.

New location, new management, terrible service and food. Our waitress seemed extremely preoccupied when she took our order. Three of the four appetizers came out but we had to ask for utensils. My onion soup was changed to chili. By the time I did get the soup, everyone else was finished with their appetizers. Three meals were delivered. Mine was lost in the kitchen again. Now, the menu states something to the effect of a Big Daddy's favorite brought back. You would assume by that, that the rancherito would be similar to the old style. Nothing like it. The old was a crispy wrap with hot chicken and melted cheese. This was ice cold, which was funny as I was warned about the hot plate. The plate was hot, the food was cold. I had to ask for the sour cream and didn't push my luck for the salsa. We were obviously bothersome to our waitress. I did notice that ours wasn't the only table having problems. Big Daddy's was always a fun place with good food and service. We always made it a point to stop in on our visits to the Poconos. NEVER again!

This place is good, but it just opened up so the quality of the food is at its best, i don't know how it will go down the line in a few months. Hopefully the food stays the way i had it. I ordered the pulled pork which was great, wasn't over done with the BBQ. The prices are very reasonable, its like going to a neighborhood chilies. One of the moments i didn't like was the feeling of awkwardness when i walked in, the 16 year old kids at the counter gave me a dumb look when i said "table for 2". it was very unprofessional. our waitress was great and she made it a very comfortable feeling after the fact!

07/1/2011 Had a prim rib sandwich with cheese. Sandwich had no flavor and the juice that came with it also had no flavor. The french fries were strange. I asked it they were supposed to be hot. I was told yes and they brought me another serving, that was even colder. My wife's meal was fair. Doubt we would ever go back again.

This place has good BBQ if you can tolerate the slow service! The staff was hardly insight pretty much hanging out in the kitchen one can assume because when you need them there was no one to be found. The woman's bathroom looks like a bad bar fight night took place the night before. Nice huge space it must be fun on a weekend evening but when I went was on a Saturday afternoon and there were only two other tables with patrons...hmm I wonder why?! If your in a rush don't bother coming in, it took 20min to place an order...sorry I wouldn't come back due to the lacking in customer service.

Beware. This place looks ok from the outside but inside it is tacky and the carpet is filthy despite the busboy sweeping with a broom whike we were eating. We ordered both tyoes of ribs. They were pre cooked and barely warmed up. The st louis ribs were terrible. tough. chewy. not heated thru. The other type was edible but not heated thru either. Cornbread was dry. Cole slaw and beans ok. Although the management, if you can call it that, chose to critiise the employees in front of the guest

This doesn't even deserve one star. Basically this restaurant is based on getting the one time customer traveling on 80 west to most likely camelback. Gross and nothing like real BBQ. You can't fool us all ertle family. But good try:)

  • Jordan D.

Like countless people who visit nearby Camelback, I stopped into Big Daddy's to get my meat on after a long day of skiing. While Big Daddy's won't be winning any BBQ recognition awards, it's a solid place to grab some ribs, some sides and a cocktail and give those sore limbs a rest while fueling up that empty belly. Service was solid. Decor was definitely lacking. For the gf and I, a rack of ribs, some sides, an appetizer and a few beers for around $60 is a good deal. Again, have your expectations in check - don't expect some gourmet BBQ with some amazing decor; if you're looking for a no frills BBQ place with solid BBQ and a lot of bang for your buck, you come to the right place.

Barbecue food the way it should be. My family and I went for dinner while visiting great wolf lodge which is right down the road. We enjoyed the baby back ribs (full rack of course) brisket and the Combination starter appetizer. Great experience. Tip for everyone staying at great wolf you receive a free appetizer if show your wristband.

I think inconsistent is a good way to describe Big Daddy's. Ive been here twice now and the first time was by far the best. Good enough that I returned for the 2nd time within a month. My first trip the pulled pork was not too dry and not too wet. Just perfect where I was able to add a little more sauce to make it to my liking. The meat was juicy, tender and had a nice flavor. The sweet potato casserole were also excellent on the first trip. The other person in my party had the bbq quarter chicken which was very good. The second trip things were different. This time I went back with a larger group and a variety of things were ordered. I once again ordered the pulled pork which this time I was very wet and mushy. It just did not have the same taste. It wasnt awful, wasnt great. Just different. It had a "left over" flavor to it. The sweet potato casserole was also different. This time they failed to put brown suger on the top which to me made a world of difference. Again, it wasnt awful nor great. Just different. The chicken was ordered again and was same as last time. Juicy and very flavorful. Another member of my party ordered the ribs which I sampled that night and ate as left overs the following day. They were just "meh". No real flavor. The sauce is sweet so it basically just tasted like sweet meat. There was no real distinct smoke or dry rub flavor to the ribs. The kids ate the mac and cheese as well as beans. They were both a big hit with the kids. Prices. To me that is a HUGE concern for me with this place. Most BBQ places for the prices at Big Daddy's you have a choice of what side you want. Sometimes one, sometimes 2 sides. Not at Big Daddy's. They give you beans and cole slaw. Thats it. If you want fries, mashed potato, sweet potato etc..its extra and not cheap. If I am paying $20 for a full rack of ribs or $13.79 for a pulled pork platter atleast give me some sort of option. I would go back and give it another go round. I would not recommend going out of your way for Big Daddy's but if you are in the area, its definetely worth a try.

Average place and experience. Bartender was friendly. Food was good but nothing spectacular or memorable. Atmosphere was kind of dull but that could of been because the day and time we went. I personally wouldn't recommend people to this place.

Worst dining experience of my vacation! Upon sitting, our server told us about half the menu was unavailable: nearly all the ribs and half the steaks. Also the shrimp and scallops. We ordered two kids meals, an entree, soup, salad, and some appetizers. We also requested that the kids food (and salad and soup) be brought out asap and not wait for the rest of the food. 30 minutes later still no food. Then they bring out a few sides. No kids meal. No soup or salad. We ask for the kids meals again. A few minutes later they come. Then I'm told they ran our of my steak. We complain that this was ridiculous and ask for the filet mignon at the steak price I ordered, and are told the manager wouldn't do that and it would take a long time to cook. So we get the sliders, and ask for the soup and salad again. Salad comes last but no soup. And it would never arrive. What a train wreck! This is for the one on rt209, which I will not be returning to.

We were here for dinner, ordered the St Louis ribs & the sirloin steak. Both came with a corn bread. The steak came with soup of the day. The ribs also came with baked beans & cole slaw. Our host & waitress were very friendly & polite. The steak were dry, hard, & bland. The soup of the day was a tomato soup. The soup was okay, As for the ribs, it was flavorful but the meat was hard & chewy. It took forever for the food to come out. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. All total, we spent about $38 before tip.

New ownership made such a huge difference!! Great staff, delicious food and the owner is very involved! All the charity events there says something! Wasn't a fan of the restaurant when other owners had it but the new owner won me over! Give it a shot and you won't be sorry!!!

  • JAG G.

What a waste of time, ribs tasted like they had been sitting under the heat lamp all day, then covered-up with BBQ sauce, my wife had some of mine because neither of us was hungry enough to eat an entire meal each, so the staff was so kind to add a extra $3.00 charge to the bill for doing so, and "forgot" to tell us of this hidden "share" rule until after the fact! Wait staff needs a lot of work as well, inattentive at best, and just fell far below any "average" expectation!

Bib Daddy's BBQ, was driving around town and ran across this place and it sounded like it would hit the spot. The restaurant has a southern country theme to it, a mix of log cabin and the facade of a barn at the back of the restaurant. It's a very spacious restaurant with plenty of seating, a game room, etc. The menu is your typical BBQ restaurant similar to Famous Daves although I will mention it's family feasts must be huge since the most expensive one is pushing like $200 bucks and that's got to be pretty damn expensive in PA. Anyways, I came here after a day outside and ordered a sandwich consisting of prime rib, cheese, au jous, and Big Daddy's special sauce. It also came with fries, a small melon ball scoop of cole slaw, and a pickle. First thing I noticed, my fries were different from the fries someone else at my table ordered, they were more like super thick cut potato chips rather than fries. That made me kind of suspicious, like they were trying to unload off some of the post lunch extras on my plate. My sandwich was pretty boring, the cheese was flavorless and the prime rib lacked any kind of flavor that I'm used to. Also there was no special sauce to be had. The jous, also lacked any semblance of flavor. Was it edible? Yes, but mind you I hadn't eaten in 9 hours so I was pretty hungry at that point. Would I pay 10 bucks again for that sandwich? Hell no.

My wife and I had a great dinner there. We shared a combination plate of 3 different lunch portions with beans, coleslaw and a piece of cornbread for $24.99. We each had mixed drinks and the tab came out to $40 (before tip). The waiter was very personable and the food came out fast (after all, the bbq has been smoking for hours). We will definitely go back.

Driving down 611 it's kind of hard to miss a giant red barn with the huge sign with a bull inviting you in to enjoy a meal at Big Daddy's Family BBQ. This joint knows whats up, we were greeted with homemade pickles & down south hospitality. While we looked over the menu we agreed to start off with an order of their pulled pork nachos. I ate them with the same love that was put into the pulled pork. These nachos were the best pulled pork nachos I have ever eaten, in fact, they were the best appetizer we had on our whole vacation. The chicken tenders were crispy and delicious, served with fries and ranch. The order was huge and could easily be shared. I also enjoyed their take on corn chowder, roasted corn and creamy goodness seasoned to perfection. My son really enjoyed his brisket that he ordered with coleslaw. The service was great, very helpful in describing the menu and with recommendations on what to order. Bid Daddy's looks like it might have a huge bar crowd at night with the huge dance floor, collection of pool tables and I must say the tools and tractor themes on the wall were funny to say the least. The people at Great Wolf Lodge should recommend this place to all families looking to go out and eat something besides pizza. Plenty of food for the price!!!!! We need a Big Daddys in the D!!!

This is average food with average service. I was surprised at the small portions. I give it a 3 instead of a 2 because I like the building and it seemed clean. Chili's has better ribs.

4 stars for food, 2 stars for decor, 1 star for service. Great food. Lackluster service. We came here on day after labor day. We arrived at 8p and saw a large group of people leaving as we were arriving. The restaurant only has a few tables left, yet, we waited almost 5 mins and no one greeted us, not even acknowledge us. There was a person sweeping the floor, saw us and went about her business. There was a cashier at the far corner, again saw us and didn't do anything, I finally flagged someone down and asked to be seated. We ordered ribs, both st Louis and baby back ribs, both were good. Pulled pork sandwich was great also. Waitress didn't know anything about beer, and it took a while to get our drinks. Overall, don't expect to get good service, just enjoy the food.

Service almost too fast. Sides weren't correct for my wife. Ribs were good. Almost fall off the bone. We didn't get a good vibe while we were here....

"Excellent brisket. The smoked wings are great too! We get them all the time. Would recommend this place. Consistently great food and service. I edited my review on 3/23/13. The new ownership shows. it is well run and the food and service got better. The new owner Anthony knows how to run a restaurant. Hats off to him and Big Daddy's!

UGH! Baby back ribs were dry dry dry overcooked and gross. They absolutely smothered them in lukewarm sauce just to make them appear juicy. NOT. My mashed potatoes were ICE COLD, seriously, I am not one to complain about little things, but they were literally ice cold all the way through. Fried chicken had a weird "sweet" taste like they were battered with maple syrup or something and it made for a nasty aftertaste. The veggies were unseasoned and seemed to come from a big bag of frozen vegetables. It was very brightly lit which made the place look ugly. Carpet was dirty. Not going back.

I've eaten here twice with my wife. The first time we both enjoyed the meal and the server. I came back for a rerun on the BBQ beef rib which wasn't as good as BBQ's in manhattan but was tasty none the less. You are served one big beef rib which I don't think is much of a portion but with the cornbread and baked beans and cole slaw could be adequate. I opted for an extra cornbread instead of the beans. Last nights beef was so fat and greasy I couldn't eat it and was glad we had an appetizer of nachos. I don't think we'll be returning despite my wife enjoying her steak . I rated it 3 * because I really enjoyed our first outing but think Longhorn's has a better menu even if a little more expensive.

I did not care for their ribs however boyfriend enjoyed his prime rib. I will comment it was very fatty. Yuck not for me. Their corn bread is yummy though. I would say its worth a stop, over all these chain restaurants you can find anywhere!

3 star meal, 1 star service. Went as a party of 8. Dinner took more than 45 min to arrive. 3 of 8 dishes came out with at least 1 error. My meal had to be sent back, as it was completely wrong (ordered a turkey burger, grilled chicken arrived). The waiter tried to pass it off as a turkey burger and when I pointed out that it was chicken, he said "Oh I thought you said chicken" even though when I ordered, I specifically asked if I could swap beef for a turkey burger and he said "yes" and read my order back to me. Everyone at the table, even the 83 yo grandma in the group who does not speak fluent English, confirmed to him that I ordered a turkey burger. I had to wait another 15 min for my meal. When it finally arrived, it was pretty good (good quality meat, well seasoned) but I still wouldn't ever go back. I felt like at a minimum, my turkey burger should have been comped, given I had to wait an hour for it to come out correctly, but it was not. Most in my party thought their food was ok to good, but they all felt the same way about not returning. Additional comments on the food: I tried a baby back rib, which was pretty good, but the portion was a bit small for the price. The fries weren't great & they were lukewarm. The pulled pork did not seem freshly made & it too was not hot when it came out. 1 person in my party ordered the pork chop special, which we all agreed looked old, tough and tasteless. I didn't like the lack of substitutions for sides, given the limited options that came with entrees (e.g., cole slaw & baked beans, which were both good + cornbread that was ice cold with gummy texture and no taste - you could not have paid me to eat more than the 1 bite I tried). Go to TX Roadhouse instead, where there is some regard for service.

I order the pulled pork sandwich every time I come here and it's been delicious every time. Coleslaw is tasty and their potato chip-like fries are my favorite. My only complaint is that the food isn't always served hot, it's almost like its been waiting for me under a heat lamp.

Right on route 611, this is a very busy road. But I am glad to have found Big Daddy's restaurant - never knew this place existed until I saw a huge sign on I-80. The atmosphere is very vibrant and the wait can be long depending on the time and weekend. Other than that, they'd give you the usual buzzer gadget to hold on to. We did not have to wait that long since it was around 7pm or so. However, for a bbq place, this restaurant closes early at 10pm (ah, being a city slicker, it is too early for me! hahah) Other than that, the food was pretty cool, the beer selections were good. We tried the pumpkin spice beer - very interesting!!! For food - we ordered appetizers like the fried green beans (surprising that it turned out good). For the ribs, the most important determinant of the entire restaurant - it was soft and tender. There were the st. louis style or the baby back ribs...both were yummy but I prefer the baby back ribs since they're slightly more tender (and fattier..hehe). Best of all, the prices were reasonable. We were able to share the beef brisket and two types of ribs. Not bad at all!
