Had my first experience here and must say it is awesome. They can make a mean hoagie. There is no space to sit inside and eat so you'll have to go take out. Ended up getting a large 18inch down under pie which is basically a red top. It was excellent. Loaded with sauce on top speckled with parm cheese. Flavorful sweet garlicky sauce. The crust was super thin and flaky at the ends almost like a flat bred which worked really well with the pie. For $14 this was really reasonably priced. We also got two cold hoagies. The 9th street italian was the meatiest hoagie I've eaten that containing prosciutto. Normally it is a thin amount and the meat is meager but not so on this one. This sandwich was filling. The provalone on the sandwich was super sharp. Kudos to the cheese brand selection. Also when I walked in I saw they use Licios rolls which are top of the line. The original eagle hoagie with roast beef and turkey is an awesome combo with slaw and special sauce.

Been a local fan for over 10 years, but recently I was disappointed - but in 10 years that's a lot of good, well prepared, good tasting, fair priced, fill-my-belly food! My one bad experience - ordered Stromboli just cheese and sauce - they offered choices of toppings (they thought is was odd to not have other stuff in it) I told them no I just want cheese and sauce. When got home it was gross, for me uneatable! They added raw onion to the sauce - it was overpowering - i spent 6 or 7 minutes picking it all out then re-heated it. it was better but that flavor still permeated everything, pissed-off, why would they assume everyone likes ONION? On my next visit I asked when some one asks for just cheese and sauce why did you add all that onion? they said, "oh thats how we do it. WHAT? what if a costumer doesn't like onion? They said oh you could just tell us - but if I don't know you're doing it how could I tell you not too? Why would you assume everyone likes onion? Some times owners can be so dumb. Oh and for god sake fix your stupid pizza size options. humm lets see there's Small (ok) and then there's Large (ok) so if I want the biggest pizza they make I say Large right? Nope I have to say Extra Large (what?) Do you actually not understand your "large" is then actually a Medium Remember English class: Big bigger biggest, good better best, small smaller smallest, great greater greatest and then of course Small Medium Large? But Noooo you're trying to reinvent the wheel with: Small Large xLarge - Its just dumb ok done ranting - here's What we love - xLarge flat crust veggie pizza (ask for a little extra sauce). OMG! awesome!

I've tried many of the pizza shops in the area (there's 5 or 6!), and am now a loyal customer of eagle pizza. For the past two years, they have hands down made the best, most consistent food. I order lunch the night before work and I love there lunch combos (club sandwiches especially!) and there Italian hogies are full of flavor. For dinner, I love there steak strombolis and large upside downs. There strombolis are real strombolis. They pack them with food (so u get more bang with ur buck), and the upside down tastes incredible! I asked the owner and he said they make the sauce themselves - it shows. If ur indifferent to ur current pizza shop, try eagle pizza. You'll be hooked. They're a family owned and operated establishelment so they care about customer service and have worked with me on pricing for catering events. All in all, they deserve all five stars. Try them out!

Eagle Pizza has gone downhill. This use to be a go to for me. Ordered here last night and the order was ice cold by the time I got it. My order: Cheese steak: Good roll, good amount of meat, cooked perfect - barely any cheese. I actually put a slice of american in it and micowaved it and it was good Curley Fries - Horrible. Tossed 80% on the bag. White Pizza - It was a good white pizza no complaints but not great. Got better with micowave. Down Under Special Great - best pizza on the menu very very good Cheese Pizza - not a very good plain pizza. Micowaved it and still pretty bad. I have gotten Italian Hoagies from here reciently and they were good. Stick with cold saldwiches, Cheese steaks but ask for extra cheese, and the down under special (upside down pizza)

Vegetarians DO NOT READ! I was in the mood for a vegetarian's nightmare. The carnivore in me was craving a Meat Lover's Stromboli (Meatball, Sausage, Ham, Bacon & Pepperoni, $10.50). Cue the music from that classic Clint Eastwood spaghetti western The Good the Bad & the Ugly. The Good- * The guy behind the counter was friendly. * My order was ready quickly. * It smelled amazing. One whiff and my cholesterol went up twenty points! * It looked great. Nicely browned. The Bad- * The dough was very thin and was lacking in taste. * Ditto for the sauce. Below average. The Ugly- * When I have sausage in a Stromboli I expect slices of the same Italian sausage I would get if I ordered a sausage & peppers sandwich. Instead I received this weird stuff that looked like slices of a hot dog! It may be sausage in name only but it had no business in a decent Stromboli. The theme song for The Good the Bad & the Ugly made it to #2 on the Billboard Charts in 1968. On my chart of decent pizza joints these guys get two stars.

I got the white pizza with spinach and chicken and a 2nd pizza that had tomato sauce, cheese, sausage and peppers. I really liked both.

Sooooo disappointed!!! I have been eating and ordering from this pizza place for a long time. :( For a long time the quality and dependability was always reliable. Then the started to get my orders wrong. Say one thing, get something else. I chalked it up to perhaps me slurring my words. It happens, right? Now I've had my last order from Eagle Pizza. The flavors are flat. The salad I ordered was close to disgusting. It was supposed to be turkey and cheese. When I got it home and opened the bag there was three slices of cheese and three slices of turkey laying on the bottom if the container. Like an after thought. The Stromboli had so little flavor. It's like the person making it had no idea what they were doing. Good by Eagle Pizza.

I moved close to this little gem. Reasonable prices, nice staff, great tasting pizza! I have only ever picked up but they do deliver. toppings are generous, the Eagle supreme is COVERED in toppings. My new favorite is there upsidown pizza. It's like a white pizza with red sauce on top, garlicy, cheesy, tomatoy and oh so delicious!

Hoagies are great, fries are amazing, pizza is meh. Don't get me wrong, the pizza is fine, but you aren't going to call home about it.. It is just standard Philly area pizza. The fries are the best thing here (get 'em extra crispy).

I was shopping at the Headnut on Haverford ave and I was hungry and I asked the cashier if there was a spot nearby to get something to eat and she replied "go across the street to Eagle Pizza, it's a nice place for a quick bite". Eagle Pizza was about a half block down and across the street. I don't think people who live in the suburbs walk around too much. All the drivers were looking at me like I was an axe murderer. I went inside the spot and the cashier asked me what I wanted and he looked so familiar to me . He was a short chunky white kid and I'm staring and I finally asked him if his name was Andy. He goes, Bruce? Then he ran around the counter and gave me a big hug. A long time ago, I used to work for Andy's Dad in his Center City shop. Andy's dad was the kind of boss that considered you family if you worked for him. Therefore I baby sat his 3 boys a lot and I used to take them to the Mall and get Pizza and toys. I even sat through a Kiss concert while Andy was wearing Peter Criss make-up and Adam was Ace Freely and big brother Neal was Gene Simmons and in truth I enjoyed them more than they could ever enjoy me. Anyway, being an EX-YELP ELITE writer makes me want to pursue better and more creative meals and even though Eagle Pizza has a big menu, there was hardly anything listed that I haven't tried before. So after catching the past up with Andy, I asked him if they served any food that was unique to his restaurant while I was staring at the 3 Mexican workers in the kitchen(hint, hint). He caught on and asked the guys about the special pizza they made for themselves and guess what? They hooked me up! The Pizza had a thin, crisp crust topped with tamarillo's and serano peppers dashed with black beans and anchovies. At first I said what did I get myself into, but it was very tasty and it made me want to find out what the 3 Mexican cooks were eating tomorrow.

I must be a glutton for punishment. Today was the second time I went there since the new owners took over. Last time I got fries. They were like cardboard. Today, I got a cheesesteak. This place used to be a good place to get them. But the new place either changed food distributors or hired new cooks or both. The cheesesteak was so salty, if I wasn't so hungry I would've just thrown it away. And although the texture of the meat was OK, pretty tender, with all that salt, it tasted more like an extra salty roast beef sandwich. And another thing while I'm here, a good CHEESE steak cook, melts the cheese into the meat not on the roll. And doesn't use so much salt! Did I mention the steak meat was too salty. I miss the old owners. They did a better job. I gave it two stars instead of one because the owners seem friendly.

Used to be good pizza, different from most of the other places. The last few times I've ordered, the dough has seemed like it was pre-made, like something you'd buy frozen at the supermarket. I'm sad to say I've really cut back on ordering from Original Eagle Pizza because of this.

I never eat the coleslaw that comes with sandwiches. Nick's is a different story and can stand alone! I will be asking for extra next time. OH, the Turkey Club is awesome!

After departing South Philly - where great steaks and decent pizza shops could be hit by a blind bastard throwing stones - I spent a good year searching my suburban woods (them of Wynne) for something approximating "not bad", but more often than not, settling for "eh". But let it be known - Original Eagle Pizza is the area's diamond amongst many "roughs" / hell, I'll even through down the gauntlet and deem their "Pepperoni Heaven" pie the best meat pie in the region. REGION! Sorry Marra's, you'll always have my heart...but this suburban take out has my buds. That said, considering the quality of that specific ode to Italian meats, I haven't ventured far from that specific line listing on the menu...although any place that bags their fries has my attention at "may I take your order".

Everything is so fresh here. Steaks, hoagies, pizza...all made with finest ingredients. You won't be disappointed.

The crust was barely cooked. What else can be said? It was soft and gloppy, not characteristics of a cooked crust. We could only eat the very outer ring. The majority of the interior was disgusting.

The 1st time I went I got the Eagle Burger with a side of fries. I have a gluten allergy so I don't eat traditional bread so I got the burger without bread and they said I could have extra fries since I don't eat cole slaw. They actually forgot my fries and I had to go back to the store to get them. The burger was great - the fries weren't great. Then tonight I ordered the crab cake to try something different - of course without bread and it came with chips and cole slaw. Again, no bread, no cole slaw. I asked if I could get fries instead of cole slaw and chips but they said I'd have to pay extra for fries. I literally received a flat tiny crab cake on two pieces of lettuce and a half ounce kiddie bag of chips all to the tune of $6!!!! They even took off things from the order that I didn't even ask to be taken out. It just felt like a rip-off. I called back and the reply to my disappointment was 'next time' we'll give you extra chips. Well I'm not sure there will be a next time. If you have a food allergy don't look here. If you decide to order from here don't order the lunch specials - total rip-off - unless you love cole slaw.
