The Kabob & Grill just opened today. The place was very busy. I ordered take out. It took a little longer than expected, which is not really a surprise on opening day. The food was very good. We had the lamb curry and onion kulcha. Both were very tasty. We will definitely be back. It's great have a place with such tasty food so close to home.

This place is in a friendly neighborhood. The place is very small but it feels very homey, if that makes sense. I went there with a friend because we heard great things about the place from few of our mutual friends. Here is what we ended up ordering: Beef seikh kabobs - cooked perfectly, juicy and not over cooked. Chicken tikkah botis - very tender Nihari - it was good but not great Naan - The naan here is amazing! Probably the best thing we ordered, I would recommend the garlic naan, better than regular naan. The owners were nice enough to let us try one of their desserts, kheer, it was really good and very authentic. I plan on going back to this place with my family. Food is very authentic and the owners are friendly. The only complaint I have is that the spice level was a little lacking but I also didn't specify that I wanted everything spicy when ordering.

This place deserves 5 stars because it is unquestionably the best Pakistani food in the city. Growing up in a Pakistani home and knowing the difference between home (food cooked with soul) food, and restaurant food (mass produced / buffet), this place is as close to home cooked food as you can get. So this is the real deal, from the Chef to the amazing Nan, to the simple and comfortable, and clean setting. This is the quality of food you will find in Pakistan. So for the Pakistani/Indian experience, go here! The sizzling kabobs are waiting for you! You can also special order Chicken Karahi a day in advance. Ask him to spice it up as the chef has toned it down for some of the neighborhood crowd. Having said that, its still very flavorful if you don't like it so spicy. Enjoy!

Excellent food! What this place lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for in great service and delicious food. I basically had to stop myself from licking the sauce off my plate multiple times. Loved the sesame naan and chicken tikka kabob with Marsala sauce. We also got this awesome yogurt based veggie salad that was sooo good. Will definitely be back!

Have never left anything but completely sated. Great, family run vibe and a huge blow to the Tiffin empire! Viva la corner Indian awesomeness!

I ordered chicken tikka masala and fish curry for dinner. They didn't taste as fresh and good as I have expected. However, the owner of restaurant called back right away and apologized. I was impressed by the restaurant's candor and diligence in customer satisfaction. Thus, I think I am going to go back and try it again in a few weeks to see whether there is any improvement in the quality of food.

Finally not another chain Indian. Kabob and grill has that homey hole in the wall look that makes it authentic. Great dosats and try tvt chef specials! Won't regret it

First visit and food was amazing. And service was 5 star. Best Indian in the area and our new local favorite.

I am a huge fan of Indian food and the food here was awesome. I like EKTA better, but I still loved my meal here. The waiter also doubled as the receptionist and took over the phone take out orders which means we had a long wait between the end of our meal and getting our check. I also feel like the spice level was not there in my Kadai Paneer. I love a little kick and this version was almost sweet. Still good and would recommend.

Very Good. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I love that it is a BYOB. I don't have a great knowledge of Indian food and I thought out server was really helpful.

We love Indian food. Tonight we tried Kabob and Grill because they delivered and they had a good Yelp reputation. It arrived far ahead of the 45 minutes they told us it would take. We tried old favorites this time and will be trying some of the things we have never seen in previous restaurants we have frequented. The entrees were hot, appropriately spicy, and VERY good! The Nan was exceptional! Peshwari Naan 1 Medium Lamb Banjara 1 Medium Aloo Mutter 1 Medium Sesame Chicken Naan 1 Medium We were very happy with this place and will be patronizing them very often!

This isn't even the best Indian food on the Main Line, and it is certainly below standard for the Philly area. I ordered Mattar Paneer and Gulab Jamun. The basmati rice was mushy, wet, and overcooked. The sauce for the Mattar Paneer was bland, lacking any spice. The Gulab Jamun was all right, but a bit too heavy on the cardamom. Cardamom overwhelmed all the other flavors. I expected better, especially for the price.

The food is amazing!! We have tried almost every dish in the menu. Highly recommend it. The service is also great.

The first time I got food here I really liked it. I have ordered from here 3-4 times since then but its never as good. It is also kind of expensive.

Outstanding South Indian food. Not at all fancy and very little seating inside although we've never had a problem when we go there for dinner. My sense is that many people do takeout. Try the delicious dosa which are hard to find in the suburbs. The food is halal and also great for those who are vegetarians and gluten-free. Friendly service.

Hands down best Indian food around. I have ran past this tiny storefront dozens of time and the name always threw me off. When I yelped looking for Indian food, this place came up. I am so happy we found our new go-to Indian restaurant. We have gotten food from here a few times, and I have never been unhappy. Pro's -Food is amazing -BYOB -Excellent take-out and portion sizes Con's -super tiny inside and limited seating. Do not walk in and expect a seat. You can make a reservation, or call ahead to see if any spots are available. But best for take-out.

Always enjoy my meal here as eat in or takeout. Small casual place with just about 6 tables. I enjoy their selection of naan. Their raita is delicious. My girlfriend always orders samosas "to go" to stock up in her freezer as a snack.

I've had three meals there over the past few months and never been disappointed. The food is excellent and service very good. On my last meal, I brought a friend who had lived in Pakistan for decades to get his reaction. He loved it. I've stayed with curries of various degrees of spice, all were excellent. Parking is easy.

This place is awesome. Delicious food--some of the best Indian food I've had and certainly the best on the mainline. Incredibly friendly host/waiter who seems to know every person who walks in. It is so kid friendly--the host cleaned the high chair before we used it. I've never experienced that elsewhere. It's small but we've never had a wait. It's a great little gem. I highly recommend it.

The food is fresh but overpriced for what you are eating. The staff is mediocre at best.

  • Charlene L.

Incredible! Until now I have had to travel into the city to find food this good. It's a small place but we got a table right away. Prices, service, and selection were all great. But the quality of the food was absolutely superb! They have takeout and delivery. BYOB Totally worth the trip to try it out. The food is so good, I hope they do ridiculously well so they can expand and eventually do a buffet.

Well - Second time even better than the first. I am extremely picky when it comes to authenticity. This place has it! The Bhindi Masala was very good again with very fresh okra, just like I had picked it from my own garden and cooked it, and as I mentioned I was going to in the first review, I tried some meat this time as well... The Lamb Kadai was just plain excellent. It was spiced perfectly. Bursting with flavor and just enough heat. Lamb was very fresh, and I presume Halal as it seemed to have that very clean flavor which only Halal meat would have. This is the best Pakistani/Indian food I have had in or out of the city...period. The guys working were also very nice and gracious. I don't rave about food easily. This place deserves it. Really glad to have this so close to home.

Great takeout (and sort-of eat in) addition to the Main Line. Pakistani owned with lots of sub-continent options from kebobs to curries. Prices are reasonable. They have a few tables if you want to eat in, but most of their business is take away.

Tried the Kabob and Grill on County Line in Ardmore for lunch. As it was my first time, Tandoori Chicken was my test dish. It was VERY well seasoned, and kissed by the flame. The wife ordered lamb vindaloo (spicy) and was not disappointed. They did not "dumb down" the heat for gringos. Daughter had her standard unadventuresome Tikka Masala and it was leagues above the bland stuff served elsewhere. Aloo Kulcha was a great (and cheap) appetizer. Lunch menu is not served on weekends (not specified on the menu) but dinner portions are just $2.00 more, so no biggie. CASH ONLY and no ATM nearby so be prepared. Certainly, IMO better food than either Tiffin, Saffron, or most of the West Philly Indian. We will certainly be back. It was quite empty at 1:30 on this Sunday. I hope they do a lot of takeout / dinner biz, as they deserve more business.

This place is in an unassuming location with but a few tables and nothing remarkable as far as wall hangings or decorations. My wife and I showed up at around five on a Saturday. We were the only ones there for about half an hour. Not knowing much about Indian food, we guessed through the menu, but each of our guesses turned out to be fantastic hits. The naan is perfectly crafted, we has some great chaak as an appetizer, and I had some sizzling lamb kabob, which was definitely the highlight of the meal. Even if you have no experience with Indian food, this restaurant is a must if you live in the area. It's my understanding that this place is relatively new. As a plus, the wait staff was very pleasant. My wife and I definitely plan to go again soon.

Just had my first meal there, and it won't be my last! It was started by a chef and some servers who left the nearly Saffron restaurant to start their own, and the food is at least as good, though the restaurant itself is much smaller. Here's hoping their great food will net them enough to expand, before word gets out and they start getting more customers than they can seat!

This place is fantastic! The service is friendly and incredibly thoughtful. We usually pick I food to-go. The balance of spices and layers of flavor that the chef achieves is like nothing else I have had in this country.

Wow, we just had such an unexpectedly 5 star meal here. This is a relatively new Indian/Pakistani restaurant located inside a perpetually vacant shop (sometimes restuarant, sometimes bodega) across the street from Marrone's in Ardmore. The kabobs are competitive with Kabobeesh in West Philadelphia (something I never thought I'd say about any restaurant anywhere) and the Chicken Makhani is the best I've had outside of India. Definitely try the grilled Resham Chicken (I think on the menu they are Seekh Kabobs). The bread is a bit drier than ideal I think, but the seasoning and flavor of the food is spot on. The mint sauce is spectacular. Service was terrific and they comp'd a small mango lassi for my 3 year old. Nice guys and great food.

Had a great meal here. Plentiful choices for vegetarians. Four of us shared all dishes and everything was spiced really well, with no overpowering heat. BYO. Owners/Chefs were super nice. Its a small space, so good to call ahead to check on table availability.

My family went here the other day for my mom's birthday - we love Indian food and this place is great! Could be a little spicier - that is my only criticism. The owners are awesome, funny guys and are enthusiastic about their food. We will be sure to go back again!

Excellent biryani, the best i have had. Good and friendly service. I have been to india and dined at many indian restaurants in the philadelphia area; this is the best. Keep in mind very casual /small inside.

Seriously delicious! Everything tasted authentic and service was great. This place was is a bit far for us but it was so good that I will be back! I will be dreaming about their palak paneer, lamb vindaloo and garlic naan until I return.

I'm in town visiting family and we decide to try a new place, it's not much to look at from the outside... But looks can be deceiving. Inside is clean, the food is well priced... I travel to India on business ...so I can be a bit snobby on my Tandoori and Saag.... This place is great, fantastic and a treat!!!! The Chicken Dosas were heaven and gluten free....... U must have warm rice pudding for dessert........

We were not planning on going to Kabob and Grill tonight but we passed it on our way to our destination restaurant that ended up being closed for Labor Day, so we reluctantly gave it a try. We are SO HAPPY that we did!!! Best Indian food around! Tiffin and Ekta were our go to places for Indian when we lived in the city, but this place is WAY better!!! Service was friendly and fantastic, food was delicious, prices were unbelievably reasonable and it came out so quickly....which was great because we had a baby and toddler in tow :) Our waiter even surprised our daughter with a mango drink! You don't find too many restaurants like this one anymore. The only downside is that it's a very tiny place to eat-in, but I would suggest giving it a try because you won't understand how wonderfully nice the people are unless you do so! Also, it's cash only so be prepared. We can not wait to eat here again! One of our new favorite finds after moving to the burbs!

When it comes to Indian cuisine I am a novice most eager to learn. My daughter gave me Neela Batra's "1,000 Indian Recipes." That book was my introduction to Indian food. While I cannot confirm that my attempts at her wonderful recipes are in any way an accurate representation of Indian food, her dishes are a wonderful delight of texture, taste and spice. My other experiences with Indian food have been at lunchtime buffets at local chain restaurants. For lunch, at ten dollars per person, you cannot complain. Such restaurants provide a most satisfying mid-day fare. Where else can you go for lunch at that price? Even a hoagie and drink at Wawa is almost that price. But then there appeared on the Main Line in Ardmore a new little establishment "Kabob and Grill." "Kabob and Grill" is just across from the old Ardmore red sauce Italian main stay, "Maronne's" on County Line Road. More humorous is that the location of "Kabob and Grill" was once the location of a dog training site where some fifteen years ago I took my wonderful and award winning Golden Retriever, Brunhilde. We were three for dinner and if you've read any of my other reviews, you know that we are big on sharing and experiencing as many tastes as possible. Since we knew nothing, we put ourselves in the hands of our handsome, neatly dressed and most hospitable server: a type not often found among today's tattooed, nose pierced, grunge servers. Under his guidance we ordered Chicken Vindaloo, Coconut Shrimp Curry and Lamb Curry. For bread sides we had an order of Onion Kulcha and Tandoori Roti. You could not ask for a more delightful dinner. Some of the spices were very strong but not strangling. (My wife told me that my face was bright red but I was not uncomfortable.) Kabob and Grill is a wonderful little gem hidden in the center of Ardmore. The ambiance is far from exotic or luxurious but the food and service is excellent. I do have one question for them. Since the door opens directly on the dining area, what are they going to do in winter without some kind of anteroom or wind guard?

Finally! Good indian food on the main line. I had veggie samosas and chana masala, and both were great. The chana masala was so flavorful. I eat a lot of indian food, and this is truly outstanding. There are only a few tables, but I didn't have to wait to be seated. It's cute and quiet inside. Everyone was really friendly -- great service. Next time I think I will go there for lunch. The lunch menu is very reasonably priced and has some great looking options.

Don't be discouraged by the hole-in-the-wall nature of this place! We have walked past it several times and discounted it (unfairly) due to it's small nature. Because of Yelp reviews, we decided to give it a try (and have now had it three times in the past week!). It's delicious, affordable, and super convenient being that you can order online. Be warned, the medium spice is still very spicy (but delicious!). We've always taken our food to go since we live close and the seating at the restaurant is limited, but every time I've gone to pick food up, there have been people sitting as well as a steady stream of people picking up.

AMAZING! This restaurant is a great place to eat! Unbelievable food! Not expensive like most Indian Restaurants! Sure, it's a hole in the wall but the best place I've been too! MAKE SURE YOU TRY IT!

Great food. Small place. But they trust in food more than anything else. I like their samosa chat also. Spicy here means actual masala spicy and not just adding chilli powder like many other restaurants. They should have exclusive parking. But not a big problem as I found place for parking by the street everytime I went to this place. As said, they trust in food than anything else. Worth trying!
