Our favorite take out sushi joint. I think Vic's has the best balance between cost and quality. Nigiri combo, oceans brother, rainbow, green dragon, shrimp shumai, and seaweed salad are our favorite. Highly recommend.

Really really great sushi!!!! good service! even though the shopping center is a little off putting you NEED to give it a shot!!

This place is a bit hard to find, as it's not right on the pike, but it's worth it once you get there. The service is very friendly, and the sushi delicious & very fresh. It's BYO as well. My only suggestion to the owners is that on Fri & Sat nights they should get rid of the harsh ceiling lights and add some dim table lights. The food here is so good that the ambiance deserves a little attention. I highly recommend this place for food quality & service.

Vic's has become my favorite Sushi place. I have been there numerous times now and have yet to be disappointed. Great selection and amazing quality. You CANNOT GO WRONG HERE! I have probably tried almost half the items on the menu! Make sure you try the special - "Dancing Ebi"! It is unique and amazing. The presentation of their sushi is really good for the size of the restaurant. I haven't eaten there as I always get take out but I always see the place have people sitting there. They have a pretty good selection of vegetarian sushi too (if you are vegetarian) If you want sushi and you are in the Ambler/Lower Gwynedd/Blue Bell area - go to Vic's!!!

Maybe I picked the wrong day to eat at Vic's, but my experience was just okay...nothing to write about. After reading all the Yelp reviews, my expectations were sky high. I went there for lunch with my better half and we ordered number of rolls and Sashimi between two people. And we were trying to convince ourselves that it were good when they were just okay. Amongst all the Japanese restaurants in the area I have tried, I have zeroed in on two Ooka and Kumo and they are both consistently great with great ambience. Vic with its 5 tables feels like a take out Chinese joint with just okay Sushi!!!

I've always went to the Sansom location in center city but decided to go a little closer to home. I can now enjoy Vic's sushi without having to worry about parking or traffic! Sushi, amazing. Service, great. Price, reasonable. Will I be back? Definitely :)

Blink and you may miss this little sushi restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. Friday night is hoppin and come early for a table. Sushi was fresh and there were several creative items on the menu that I have never seen anywhere else. The sushi pizza and tuna bombs (or tuna dumplings) are definitely unique and a must try. Ordered the fresh oyster special and they were my favorite. Also went out on a limb and tried the army roll. Not sure that fried cheese stick belongs in a sushi roll but Vic's gets props for going for it!!

Our favorite sushi place! They have 3 rolls for 10$ and it's amazing. They have super nice servers and its byob! It's the best!!

  • Linda S.

The real Vic team sold this restaurant and let them keep his menu and name. They tell the patrons that they are closely related to him. The fact is that he has no involvement with the Spring House restaurant and the quality of the food has gone down since the sale. It took us a while to figure this out, but now that we've found the real Vic in Willow Grove, we'll be going there from now on.

Our favorite place! Great food! Great people! I recommend the Tiger Roll, but all the food is awesome! And it's a BYOB!

Wow worlds best place for sushi. A little slow but worth the wait times ten because of the food. The staff is nice and the building is inviting. Also, 3 rolls for $10 is a great deal I would pay more if I had to. I think the best thing there is the I-roll. it is amazing

  • Courtney A.

Went here for dinner. Their special rolls are even better than their regular rolls. The fish was so deliciously fresh. We order the Sansom roll and marly roll, both sleet very good! My only complaint would be that, while they did have a ton of special rolls to choose from, the majority of them contained shell fish (shrimp, lobster, crab). When I'm getting sushi, I want tuna, salmon and yellowtail and there wasn't as much selection to chose from as I'd hoped there would be. Otherwise, will definitely be retuning bc the sushi was delicious and cheap.

  • Janice J.

Decent sushi for a very reasonable price. Miso soup was not too salty which is definitely a plus and a rarity these days. The tuna sundae is a must-try! Only downsides are the slightly hidden location and the disappointingly lackluster interior design.

  • Ann N.

My go to sushi venue every week! The staff is always welcoming and friendly and the sushi is beyond amazing. Nothing beats the 3 roll special. I highly recommend the sansom roll or happy roll as a specialty roll choice. Nothing short of savory and delicious every time.

I think a 4.5 rating is a little overboard for Vic Sushi. I prefer Cho Cho San in Montgomeryville any day (especially their Rock & Roll and Spicy Lobster!). Don't get me wrong, Vic is a decent sushi spot with a variety on their menu. I ordered the $10.95 three roll lunch special (Shrimp Tempura, Boston, and Futomaki). The rolls were okay but I was hoping for more flavor. They were also very small- two pieces would be the size of a regular sushi roll, but it was filling enough for lunch. I also ordered a specialty roll (Dancing Ebi) that tasted much better and was a normal sized roll which I expected for $13.95. Overall, this is a great place to get sushi at a reasonable price if you want a quick fix.

The five star rating is for Vic Sushi when it was owned by Vic. Vic sold it a year ago, and has moved his operation to Willow Grove.

After moving here form California I have had a tough time finding decent sushi. Every roll we had here was huge and delicious. The staff was fast and friendly even though they were busy. On top of that it's a byob and right next to a beer distributor. Honestly what more could you ask for.

    (5)
  • Evan W.

Absolutely my go to spot for some sushi. Everything from the service to the food is 5 star in my opinion. Everything I get there is delicious and the prices are right. You can't beat the 3 roll special. Love this place and the food is awesome!!!

  • Chris H.

So I've back here twice now and have been quite happy both times. The place is small, cozy one might say, so it can get crowded depending on when you go. But I've found the prices to be pretty dirt cheap. Three rolls for $10.95, yeah, sign me up. I haven't tried any of the fancy rolls besides their rainbow roll, which was good but not the best rainbow roll I've had. Staff has always been friendly and attentive and overall a great place to grab a bite to eat. They are about 20 miles from the hotel where I'm staying now for work, but if I was closer I'd frequent them again before I leave town. Good food, good prices, friendly staff in an unpretentious atmosphere. Yeah, get on that.

Took out a late lunch order. The fish was all perfectly fresh. The sashimi cuts were VERY generous. The rolls were well done, nicely seasoned and served with well proportioned rice. I am not a big fan of sushi takeout, so I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness, quality and portion sizes of our rolls. I would highly recommend Vic's!!

  • Amy K.

My fiancé and i found Vic by chance and have been coming back frequently ever since! The sushi is so delicious! They do not use too much rice and the combination of flavors in their special rolls is just so good! Also the three rolls for 11 dollars combo cannot be beat. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. They remember us by our first names! The service is consistently good every time we have been there. If you are looking for good sushi, Vic Is the place to go! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

Well, I just found my new sushi place. When you find this place in the strip mall, you will walk into a small and spartan looking restaurant. But the sushi and service are excellent. The rolls we ordered tonight were fantastic. The fish was extremely fresh and the rolls were done beautifully. They have a 3 non-specialty rolls for $10.95. When I see a price like that, I am usually very skeptical at the quality I will receive. However, the rolls were excellent. We also ordered a rainbow roll and their "Tiger" roll. Both were also terrific. Further, the presentation was artistic and beautiful. My son ordered the shrimp teriyaki and he thoroughly enjoyed it. His order came with a plentiful supply of shrimp and the teriyaki sauce was flavorful. I will be bringing some co-workers here for lunch and I know they will love it. I highly recommend this place.

Vic is the best sushi I have ever had. Period. I stumbled upon Vic by accident about a year ago. My go-to spot was randomly closed and my mind was already set on sushi. Out came the phone, and after a yelp surf and about a half an hour, I was sitting in the Vic parking lot. Vic takes their menu beyond the norm. Yes you can get any run of the mill you're accustomed to getting anywhere else, in fact, they run a special. You can have 3 regular rolls for $9.99, and by regular we're talking California, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, Philadelphia, sweet potato, etc. I'm more interested in their special rolls. Vic's special rolls are amazing. Take for instance the Eye roll. Vic combines the spice of spicy tuna and spicy mayo with the sweetness of pineapple. Or the Protein roll that combines tuna with apple. These are just two examples of how they think outside the box. The bottom line is Vic has very good sushi, for reasonable prices. If you're looking to eat in, be warned there are only 5 tables.

Great sushi for the area. We come here specifically for the tuna dumplings, they are AMAZING.

  • Rachel F.

Wonderful sushi for a very reasonable price. Presentation is always beautiful! Also BYOB! Does it get any better?! Only down side is very little seating...so make reservations :)

  • Trisha G.

Great assortment of specialty rolls and a large menu. Fresh fish, great prices, BYOB. The environment could use some TLC though. Good for the price, but when compared to other top sushi restaurants, they're not my go-to. For its price bracket however, you can't get much better!

Wow, I was blown away with how good Vic Sushi is when I visited yesterday. I think it rivals the best places I've been to for sushi in Philadelphia--Zama, Umai Umai, etc. The fish is super fresh (not SuperFresh), and the cuts of fish you get in the rolls is very generous. We came in on the late end of a Friday night for a friend's birthday and were seated right away. The decor is spartan, and there are only a handful of tables. But the sushi they turn out here is top tier. We started with the spicy tuna pizza as an appetizer: just awesome. And beautiful. They really take presentation seriously here. From there we ordered the 60-piece sushi party platter and a few additional rolls, including the iRoll (awesome name) and of course (given the occasion) the Birthday Roll. The Birthday Roll was just humungous. I seriously think you could eat just that and be full. The iRoll was super creative (as are lots of their rolls), and included fresh pineapple and coconut jam! My wife doesn't eat seafood, so she got the avocado mango roll, and on the advice of another yelp review, added cream cheese to it--it was awesome. She also tried the chicken tempura roll (also good), and an amazing special called the beef negiyaki, which is like a sushi roll, except it's thinly sliced beef used as the wrapper around some scallions. It's hard to describe, but it was unique and one of the best things we tried. The wait staff here is very pleasant and kept our water glasses full. Vic is BYOB, so they also opened up the bottles of wine we brought and provided proper glassware. We really enjoyed chatting with them and they made the experience even better. I will definitely be back. I recommend checking out Vic Sushi.

Although Vic has a 4.5 star rating I think most people are going a bit overboard. Don't get me wrong I think this place is solid 3 maybe 3.5 but not 4.5 stars. I would still choose Umai or Bluefin over Vic anytime. I really like the diverse menu and vast selection of special rolls. I think this sushi place is perfect for sushi lovers that don't want to spend a ton of money. I say this because there generic rolls are cheap. The reason they are cheap is because the generic rolls are minuscule. It would take 2 or maybe 3 pieces of a Vic spicy tuna roll to get 1 of Umai's spicy tuna monsters. All in all I will be back to Vic's for a quick local sushi fix.

  • Bob W.

The sushi was great , plentiful and had lots of wasabi and pickled ginger. The special udon noodle soup was yummy. The wait staff was more than happy to make sure nothing had avocado in it. We ate like kings for under $50. Bob W Elkins Park, PA

Best sushi around! So fresh! It's in a small little pocket of a shopping center and the place is tiny! But if you dont get take out see if you can grab one of the 5 tables or sit at the bar. Three roll special deal for $10.95 is awesome. Their pad tai is amazing too

Although the shumai and sushi tasted great at the time, it made my husband and I horribly sick. Do not go here.

  • Nicole L.

Very yummy, and well worth the (considerable) expense. If you like eel, I highly recommend the black dragon. The sushi rice was delicious (and of good quality), and the balance of the rolls were all very good. The salmon pieces were thickly cut, and from the good parts of the salmon. They had some combo specials, which were reasonable, but given how hungry we were, and how good the food was, it ended up being a REALLY expensive meal for us 3 adults ($50+ per person before tax/tip). I wish they had some coupons, or discounts available, but it was a very yummy and satisfying meal, so I really have no cause for complaint. I will definitely go back, but maybe I'll make sure that I'm not so hungry when I visit next time? Be warned, it's a small place and there are only a few tables, and all of them pretty small. Still, they were happy to make room, and it was (fortunately) not very busy that evening. A lot of take-out customers.

I had heard and read a lot of good things about Vic Sushi, so I decided to go try it for myself. When I walked into the restaurant I was surprised about it's size -- it's pretty small. They do a good job of fitting in the maximum number of tables without it feeling cramped. They also have a small sushi bar with a few additional seats. With that said, it's bright and colorful. We ordered green salad with the sesame dressing. I love that dressing and found Vic's to be superior. It was a much deeper orange than some places and it had a lot of great flavors. Our server also brought us complimentary edamame, which was a nice touch. We got a little overzealous when it came to ordering our sushi rolls (we like sashimi, but primarily order rolls) so the few that I'm mentioning here don't cover it totally, but our favorites were Ocean Brother, Sansom, and a special that day, avocado mango. While the last one lacked any fish, it was a great flavor combo and as our server recommended it, it's nice to know it was solid advice. It was a fun casual atmosphere with great service and delicious and beautiful sushi. Plus a BYOB, all in the 'burbs! Check it out!

Oh my GOODNESS. I thought I had tried the best sushi in my small area, but I was so wrong. Thank you friends for introducing me to Vic's! I've heard of it for while, but didn't understand the hype until I visited. My two friends and I came on a Wednesday at 1:30PM and were seated immediately (we were the only ones there). I was surprised to see basically no one in the small restaurant and really was not expecting much. There was a lunch special that was 3 rolls for $10 which I was very happy about. I ordered a spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, and a mango avocado roll. The kind waitress brought us miso soup to start with and brought out our sushi dishes a short time after that. The sushi itself was amazing. Unlike other sushi restaurants, they gave a substantial amount of fish compared to rice which is what we technically pay for! I could tell the ingredients were fresh. The mango avocado roll was new to me, but I loved it. Sweet yet still savory. If you're in the area and looking for some good sushi at a great price, I highly recommend Vic's!

We've tried Vic twice now. Each time we pickup and eat at home. Sushi - A-ok! It's been good, great, enjoy it. 3 rolls special for $10 is great for penny-pinching. Teriyaki (which is what one of my kids eats) is eh. Just 'eh. The sauce isn't great and there's way too many onions. For sure will be back, just wish their teriyaki was better.

Lunch! Sashimi special for $9.95! This is a nice place for a quick lunch. I was unimpressed with the size of the sashimi lunch. I substituted scallop and cooked shrimp for the tuna and salmon, and got 1 scallop, 2 shrimp (cooked not amaebi), and 2 pieces of yellowtail. For $10. There are at least 3 other sushi places in the area with bigger sashimi lunch plates that cost less per piece. The tea was nice, $2 for a pot of green tea. The ginger dressing for the salad was really tasty too, minced ginger, sesame oil, it tasted like someone put some thought into the recipe and made it in-house. Don't know if I'd go back, but it was a nice spot for lunch and the hostess didn't mind me bringing my laptop in to get some work done. (They have WiFi)

  • Jay Q.

Best place in the area to get Sushi! Vicky and Sofia are awesome and very friendly! Then you have Benny always offering the complimentary saki. Always fresh and always something new to try. I just wish they had live scallops all the time because when they do, they are the best! Tuna dumplings all the way. A regular place for my girlfriend and I!

I stopped in for some Sushi and the staff did not appear to want to wait on me. I was ignored until I got tired of waiting and left. I guess Japanese people are racist too!

  • George A.

Small out of the way sushi place for me, but we'll worth the trip for the quality and price. I cant speak for the dine in service, but can tell you that seating is limited here and it doesnt seem too inviting to dine-in. Sushi is fresh, tasty, prepared to your liking (extra spicy for me please), and all done with care. Don't believe me? Watch the guys work at their art. Their 3 roll special is a good value and even their Thai menu is worth trying. My only complaint is they need to be much closer to my house so I can get my sushi fix in more often. A Groupon deal would be nice as well.

    (4)
  • Jim S.

This place is nice. Very small inside, not unlike most sushi spots. The sushi is always fresh and tasty. If you like special rolls, they don't have a ton of variety but you'll definitely find a couple you like. I've had the change to eat here twice and both times I was impressed!

  • Tue T.

If you have not yet tried their tuna dumplings, go do it now! Its a bit pricey at 5$ a piece but its one of those things that you have to try at least once. One of the best sushi I've had in a long time! Volcano, Sansom, and Vic roll were all amazing. The salmon and tuna sashimi I ordered were very fresh. Great and friendly services. Only downside is that its a bit pricey but the quality of the food greatly out weighs and deserves this kind of pricing!

  • Bill W.

Vic is the best Sushi within a 30 minute drive. Way better than Bluefin, and honestly on par with or superior to most places in the city. Fresh fish, creative specialty rolls, and a Thai menu that would stand on its own. But it's also the little things here - the friendly and accommodating staff, including Vic himself, who is the hardest working man in sushi I know, yet always looks up to wish you a good night. The hundreds of pictures of satisfied customers on the walls tell you all you need to know about where this restaurant's priorities are. Great for take-out or dining in (though there are only 6-8 tables and a few spots at the bar, so don't show up at 7:30 on a Friday evening expecting a quick seat). It would take too long to list all the menu highlights, but do yourself a favor and try the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles)...it'll blow your hair back!

  • Lan H.

For a non-buffet, totally worth the 3 rolls for $10.95! It was hard to distinguish which rolls were which as the stomach got fuller and fuller, but I generally enjoyed the dining experience from the tom yum soup to the pear sake that we had bought ourselves to accompany our meal. I wish I could say that the sushi themselves beat the ones at Fat Salmon and even a buffet like Noboro. But although the deal was fantastic, the sushi wasn't memorable. Though I've gotta hand it to Vic Sushi for keeping good business around 19002 :-) Thanks!

  • John M.

Fantastic sushi. Came highly recommended by a friend and was well worth the trip. Service was outstanding. Fish was really fresh and flavorful. We had the tuna dumplings (absolutely fantastic and the highlight of the meal!) and 6 hand rolls for $30 - can't beat the value and the service here.

  • Joe C.

Solid sushi tucked in a strip mall. Prices were average and the rolls I get were just fine. Spicy Tuna roll was tasty and the Black Eel roll was well done. Atmosphere is meh, but I don't care about that. It took a solid 10 mins after we were seated to get someone to take our order, but what can you do. We were early (11:45) so maybe they weren't ready for customers yet. Bottom line, if I'm in Springhouse and wanting sushi, I will definitely go back.

  • Joe C.

This place is in crappy strip mall in a semi-industrial area but for some reason, they have best sushi I've had in the area (including Philadelphia). Better than Blue Fin in East Norriton, better than Morimoto and Fat Salmon in Philly (Washington Square). It's fresh and the salmon literally melts on your tongue. I've been a few times and it was great each time. And for under $15 for lunch , it's a pretty good deal too. I lived in NYC for a couple years and ate tons of sushi there. When I moved back here, most sushi tasted like soy and protein. This place lights up the taste buds like Gary Busey on a Tuesday night. If you don't believe me, try it yourself. If you don't agree, you're wrong. If you know of a better place around here, please let me know.

Just moved to Maple Glen. Dying for good sushi. We found Vic's. Micro small place with spartan surroundings. But the staff is what provides the character. Vic and his brother-in-law are the chef's. Watching them work during the peak Friday night rush hour was amazing. They are so in sync with each other. The rest of the family...who also are the staff...are jamming at every beat. Now for the food. The only marginal piece of sushi I had was tako. I'm guessing this far inland it is had to get. Not to worry, the salmon, hamachi, and spicy tuna rolls rock the house. Ask for extra spicy. Vic is used to delivery to the local tasty buds, ie. bland. The rolls are really nice. The Tiger Roll was a nice combination. Everything is fresh and relatively fast. Oh, yeah. The have Thai food too. BYOB. Vic's does a tremendous take-out business, so keep that in mind. Bottom line...We'll be back!

We liked their 3 roll special to pick any 3 rolls from the list for $10.95. We got the spicy tuna (delicious, good texture, small pieces of tuna, slightly too spicy for one person in the group but I thought it was great), the california roll (good, standard roll), spicy salmon (also delicious), and the mango and avacado roll (at some other yelp suggestions, we asked to add cream cheese to it and i loved it!). We got one specialty roll but i forget which one it was. It arrived very beautifully arranged and was quite large. The only downside to the entire meal was having to pay for the green tea, but it was rich and earthy and came in a pot with the leaves in a filter. We will be back for fresh, delicious sushi at a decent price.

A tiny tiny restaurant with a mix of Japanese and Thai food. But the sushi quality was excellent! Others in our party had the teriyaki and Pad Thai and these were excellent too. Hope they can enlarge their seating area because we will be coming back! I had the Tuna Combo dinner and while the portions were not huge, the quality of the tuna and the price were very reasonable. Service was fine, although we went early. Five stars for the food, not so much for the atmosphere!

We were so happy with Vic sushi! They even created an entree for us that wasn't on the menu. Their sushi prices are great, as is the quality and service. Can't wait to go back.

Delicious. Got the avocado mango roll and added cream cheese. So good! The fried tofu was ok. But I'll def come back for te other! It'a hard to find good vegetarian sushi in the suburbs!

I found this place on Yelp maybe a year ago and told a friend of mine, who is also a local sushi fan, that we need to check this place out. Well we finally went last night. Wow this place has some good food! My standard sushi involves seaweed salad, and three maki selections based on my mood. The seaweed salad was right on, just as good as my favorite sushi place (which won't be named in this review). I then had the volcano roll, spicy tuna roll, and the Ocean Brother roll. The volcano roll was so nice and tasty and soft; it hit the spot really well. And the spicy tuna was good too; not quite spicy, but that's what wasabi is for, right? :-) I wasn't entirely fond of the Ocean Brother roll, but it had more of a seafood taste than I liked, so please take note of my bias; you may love this roll for yourself. The only downside to this place is it's awfully small, so you may find it hard to get seating during typical dining hours. We had to wait for 30 min for a party of five. But then again they do a lot of takeout food, so that can make for a good alternative. Check this place out.... the positive reviews of this place have been right on.

The protein roll is great and the apple really adds a nice twist. The holiday roll is also a must-try if you like mango and scallop. It sounds like a strange combination but it is delicious. Service is pleasant and the fish fresh. A great suburban sushi place. The apps aren't as fantastic as Bluefin's though, and nothing beats the eel at Ajihei. However, this is good place for creative, fresh rolls.

  • Lee Ann R.

This is a really cute sushi bar. The 3 rolls for $10.95 is a pretty good deal averaging about $4 a roll. Although the sushi is decent it isn't amazing. This is my first sushi experience in Philly and there was more to be desired. I was surprised at how tiny each piece of sushi was and how carelessly my roll was put together. The fish is fresh but it was missing that strong flavor I love. Great miso though that was the best I've had. Very clean. Too small for parties over 3-4. I will eat here again though.

  • Michael G.

There's nothing better than finding an A+ sushi joint just minutes from where you live, and Vic is that. Really excellent and fresh sushi, and lots of creative rolls beautifully constructed by the friendly chefs. I had a Thai curry dish the first time I came here, and it was fine, but I've since learned to come for the sushi -- the 3-(basic)rolls-for-$10 deal is a steal (I typically get the spicy tuna, Eel roll, shrimp tempura roll, etc. -- all excellent), but the larger, more elaborate rolls (e.g. Green Dragon) are well worth the very reasonable prices. Service is excellent. The place is low-key, unfancy but very clean and simple, a bit on the smaller side so getting a table can be tough after 5pm. And one crucial note: If you're ordering takeout (as we have once), it's imperative you call well ahead of time because it'll probably take more than an hour, maybe 90 minutes on a Friday or Saturday. It's a busy place due to the quality of the food. If you just show up and place your order you're going to be waiting a LONG time. So glad we discovered Vic for our sushi fix!

There's no better sushi you'll find in the Philadelphia region. And that's just the half of it... The other half is a humble yet engaging owner/chef who takes such pride in pleasing his customers, he buys the freshest possible ingredients, chats with you about cuisine, service, life and gastro-theories, and even displays the photos of satisfied diners across his wall. (Now, he's got to go to 5x7's due to the sheer volume) I won't bore you with details on which rolls to try because quite frankly, they're all divine and it's up to personal preference. They're always trying new ones too, so check the board by the front door. If there's any possible way Vic can maintain this level of flavor and quality while adding another location or two, I'd invest without blinking an eye. (And I'm not a wealthy man.) And although I'd pay a little more for his work, the prices are right on the money.

I'll qualify this review with the fact that I do not eat fish (or crustaceans, mollusks, or anything that swims). My review will be on their vegetable sushi. I never really ate sushi until I made some sushi-friends and was dragged to many restaurants. Vic's is the only place that I can go and know that I will be just as happy with my sushi as a normal fish lover would be. Their oshinko roll is pickled perfection - the slices are not too thick and the taste is just delightful. One of those plus two sweet potato rolls make up my "usual" meal there. I don't know a lot about sushi, but I hear that their 3 roll special is very reasonable. I am pleased with it considering the awful veggie sushi I have had at other area establishments. The staff is great, but the service is spotty at times. If you show up on a busy night (read - completely full) you are liable to wait quite a while. However, if you show up at an off time the staff really treats you well. I think they would be well served with a bigger restaurant. Seeing the positive reviews here for their non-sushi items, I may stray from my usual and try the pad thai soemtime.

This place is a great little neighborhood sushi place. T and I both opted for the 3 rolls for $10.95 deal and it was fantastic! The rolls are smaller but there are eight pieces to each and I actually prefer small pieces so I don't look like I'm chewing cud. I had the Philly roll, shrimp tempura and spicy salmon roll. All the fish was really fresh and flavorful. The spicy tuna (T got it) was amazing and I'll be getting this roll next time. The only problems I had were the salmon in the Philly roll wasn't smoked and the shrimp tempura didn't taste fresh. It tasted like it was cooked ahead of time. But no matter. For this deal, we'll go back and I'll try something different!

When scrolling over the number of stars to rate this restaurant, 2 stars gives the statement "Meh, I've experienced better." My sentiments exactly. While I agree, the cleanliness, friendly staff, and prices were rave-able - the food left MUCH to be desired. Perhaps my husband and I went a little too safe, splitting 3 rolls - avocado, spicy tuna, and yellow tail with scallion - thus resulting in a very underwhelming meal. The rolls were falling apart and hardly had any fish in them at all. If you're looking for a quick, cheap snack - this is your place. If you're looking for good sushi, head to Bluefin.

Been here twice (so far!); found it through a coupon mailer, and very glad I did! The food is great, and the family that owns it is very friendly! Vic and his wife La apparently had a place down in Philly for three years or so, and recently moved to this location (though that place is still open with someone else behind the counter). Critics might (and did- see below) wonder if we really need another sushi place in the area, but this one has quickly earned a spot on my top tier. First trip, I had shumai, my wife had tom yum soup, and we each had the three roll special (hers actually fish, mine shrimp tempura and avocado) (24pc/$10.95). Everything was great, except that after trying her soup, I wished I had gotten another for myself- that is some good stuff. :-). Second time around, we both had tom yum soup, the wife went with the three roll special again, and I decided to try a Thai dish (La is from Laos). I was initially going for the Lad Na, but our server called La over and she steered me to the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) w/ shrimp. Again, everything was very good. We also ordered gyoza, but they somehow got lost in the shuffle (we weren't billed for them). Next time... The decor is simple, overall space is a bit cramped and noisy (though the tables are good-sized), and the service can be spotty at the end of the night. Also, Vic seems to be the only person making the rolls, so it could be a bit of a wait if they are busy. However, the tasty food, casually friendly owners/staff, and good value push it to five stars (actually 4.5, if I could - this is my first published review, but trust I don't give stars up easily). (Neat aside-- The food critic for the community newspaper "the Trend" gave it a 4/5 and a very nice write-up (that also questioned and then affirmed the need for this place) - La actually showed us the review, as the critic and his LDC, as he calls her, were actually just leaving from a third visit as we settled in for our second time.) [Local frame of reference: Bluefin, Ooka, Kumo, Umai, Eastern Dragon]

Somehow, we never knew this place was near us until recently. I mean, we passed it numerous times, but since it sits back off the main road, we kind of missed it. Anyway, it is good. Solid good. It gets us our Thai cravings without going into the city. We have had take out and have eaten in. The staff is super friendly and the food good-- go!

OMG...I am sooo hooked on the "LUCKY ROLL!" This is my absolute favorite roll of all! It melts in your mouth as you eat Evey bite! The salmon is sooo fresh and succulent! When I get to my last bite I am already thinking when I can get it again!!!

I really like this place. So glad it is up in the suburb now. The sashimi was very fresh. The sushi rolls are pretty good, Very very creative. I will be back Vic's!

3 rolls for $10.95???? AWESOME! We get the 3 roll special about every week for take out and have NEVER been disappointed. Vic's is always delicious, fresh, and just downright tasty!

I took a gal pal here last Saturday night. We showed at 6:30pm and the (very small) dining room was about half full. By the time we ordered, it was full. Friendly employees and the place was very clean. The menu is fantastic -- lots of different kinds of sushi rolls that I've never seen before, and the ones we tried were delish. The fish was very fresh and the plate arrangements of the rolls was incredibly elaborate and beautifully placed. They get an A++ for plate display. Our table neighbors oooed and awed over our plate, and we did the same to theirs. My friend and I did notice they had a very consistent stream of take-out orders and our food took almost an hour to come out. We ordered a few more rolls and that took another 45 minutes. The place is very small so that was disappointing -- I'm assuming the food was slow due to all the take-out orders. It was Saturday night, and it was worth the wait but, if I decide I want Vic's again on a Saturday night, I will be ordering take-out instead of waiting an hour in the dining room. The Ocean Brother roll was my favorite and I can't stop thinking about it two days later...I must go back soon!

Absolutely the best hands down!!! I have been far and wide and I have eaten gobs of sushi. I love this stuff! used to go in the one in town... hard to park but still worth it. Found out about this one and I made the time to go last night and YES....score ... Goal...!! I ADORE the Ocean Brother!! Will be back!!! If you cannot make it to any sushi spot make it a point to go to Vic's!

I really liked their sushi - delicious and fresh. Service wasn't very fast, but they did say they were short a waitress and chef. 3 great rolls for $10.95 was totally worth the slower service. Definitely will get take-out from here.

This was a really nice little place. I went with my brother and gent for dinner. They opted for Thai, and I went for the sushi. The only real reason I'm giving it three stars is my boyfriend and brother were almost done their meals before I finally got my Sushi tray. I understand good rolls are hard to make, but it just seemed a bit long, and I had to eat them fast because my dining companions were already finished. Eating them fast was hardly a problem, however. They were delicious. The Miso was perfect, and the atmosphere was indie and clean. Good food, comfy, small digs (probably seating about 30 people at bursting). They're obviously not a Sushi-come-lately- place as the chef was very well schooled, and all the dishes looked just lovely on their way out. Perfect for a lunch date, or an intimate dinner. I'd go again.

Holy moly! Super tasty. I had the Pad se-ew with shrimp. It was by far one of the best Thai dishes I've ever had. Great mix of veggies and delicious shrimp with fresh and wide rice noodles. Delicious flavors and a great portion size. Also split the 3-roll combo and added another roll because they all sounded so delicious. Shrimp tempura, asparagus, spicy salmon, and mango avocado rolls. The asparagus roll was a little boring, I was hoping for an asparagus tempura roll but it was just asparagus and rice. The other rolls were excellent, especially the spicy salmon.

I came here for lunch one Monday afternoon. What a little gem buried within the suburbs ! This tiny place probably seats only about 35. Great staff and SUPER clean . Their 3 rolls for $10.95 is super amazing. Great variety to choose from and comes with miso soup ! My daughter had the thai pan fried wide noodles. And the waitress was kind enough to offer regular broccoli in it rather then the Chinese broccoli . So nice. The noodles wer FANTASTIC ! Hold wide noodles ! It was perfectly seasoned, with tons of "woc hay" . A Tom Yum soup accompanied the dish, and that was also delicious. Just spicy enough , but not so spicy you choked with every sip. I can't wait to come back and also try their location in the city !

Charming and tasty for a secluded new Sushi/Thai spot. Everyone was quick to make us comfortable. The menu was typical and reasonable. If Sushi is your thing and you happen to be on a budget, this is the spot. Get 3 rolls for under $11.

I came here a while back with a friend. We ordered a selection of Thai dishes and sushi. The Thai dishes were tasty, but I felt the sushi was a bit lackluster and nothing special to write home about. I remember having one roll which had tuna, but appears to be out of a can and definitely not raw. If you want Thai, its a good local spot, but I'd recommend elsewhere if you're looking for high grade sushi.

Vic's is amazing! I thought I had reviewed it before but double checked and NO! I am glad I read the other reviews because now I can offer a different take. I really love the Ocean Brother roll but I am a sashimi girl and I have never had anything other than spectacularly fresh, tasty sashimi and sushi. If you like sashimi, get the live scallop when they have it. Still a little briny (in a very good way) but Vic slices is so thin and then places it between very thin sliced of lemon. It is to die for! I almost cried at the hamachi I had the other night. It was so excellent. On the app side, Vic makes a tuna dumpling that is heaven. He pounds tuna (maguro) very, very thin then makes a filling out of avocado, tempura flakes, and I have no clue what else and I do not care. He wraps the filling with the tuna to look like a dumpling, tops it with roe and adds some spicy sauce to the plate. Every time I go I am sad that I must share and vow to get my own the next time. The other apps are also excellent. We always get the shumai and seaweed salad when the weather is warm, miso when it is cold. Both perfect. Wish I could bottle the sauce for the shumai. My husband is a roll guy and has tried almost all the rolls. I am not sure that he has a fave because they are all so good. If he had to pick maybe one of the dragon rolls because he really likes the eel. I had to pick the 'spendy' icon only b/c it is sushi and that is usually what we spend when we go. It is a very, very good deal, though. Best quality and not overpriced. We do spend a long time there when we go but it is ALWAYS worth it. My advice, plan for a long dinner and bring friends to pass the time. :)

This is the type of place that you want to keep all to yourself.... a secret. It is so good, you don't want others to find it because you might not be able to get in again. There are only about 5-6 tables and maybe 4 spots at the sushi bar. BYOB. The sushi is outstanding. I ordered mine with soy paper rather than seaweed. My wife really enjoyed her Thai dish. My son loved his chicken teriyaki dish. We have been back numerous times and have always had an excellent meal, from the miso soup, ginger salad, sushi rolls to japanese/thai dinners. The staff/owners are friendly and the whole restaurant radiates a pleasant aura. The place is a gem. I hope you only get take-out, so I can still sit and enjoy.

Hard place to find unless you are looking for it. I tried it based on the reviews here and wasn't disappointed. My wife and I had the 39 piece sushi platter for $32 and it was a great deal! The only drawback to the place is its size and the # of tables in it. Its tiny - definitely not the place to go if your claustraphobic. I highly recommend it!

Very good sushi. Quality of fish and serving temperature were perfect. Wide variety of interesting rolls. I'm impressed. I'm a fan of Blue Fin and Sagamis in Pennsauken and I have no hesitation recommending this place. It's small and probably gets backed up on the weekends.

Don't let the decor fool you--in my opinion, Vic is hands down one of the best local sushi spots in the Philly suburbs! Plus they offer takeout if you'd rather eat elsewhere :) The spicy tuna (and spicy salmon) pizza is definitely a favorite (check the "specials" board). I'm obsessed with the tuna dumplings, yellow dragon roll and the sansom roll, but I've pretty much tried the entire menu at this point and have never been disappointed. Consistency and freshness are key for me when it comes to sushi, and Vic always hits the spot!
