Was just here a few days ago and was impressed to see that the Ladies room was just recently renovated. Loved walking in to an extra girly bathroom. It's the little things in life, right?? :) Looks great and of course, once again, we had a fabulous time!!

This is a great dive bar, and my favorite in the area. I'd give it 5 stars immediately if it wasn't for the heavy smoking. It's small, but the U-shaped bar is large and the decor is interesting and updated. The craft beer on tap is incredible and very well-priced, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I haven't tried the food, which seems like typical bar fare. If you appreciate good beer and can stand the excessive smoke, this is 100% the place to go in Ambler.

The bar is small but OK. Beer selection is great. People that go here are very creepy.

I really like this place and would come more often, but will admit that the heavy smoke and ineffective filtering system take away from the recent upgrades. My friends that smoke even agree that they would like this place better if they did not come home completely smelling of smoke. I know the place is considered a Hookah Bar, but in the 20 or so times I have been there, I have yet to see anyone using the hookah. With "On Tap" taking over Finn McCools, I hope B31 reconsiders it's smoking policy so it can remain the top craft beer purveyor in Ambler! Not a hater of the bar at all...just a hater of the heavy smoke!

I had never been to 31 Main before Saturday night and while I didn't hate it, it wasn't what I was expecting. First off, it may be the hands down smokiest bar in which I have ever been. It could just be that I've gotten used to most bars being non-smoking, but it was insanity in there as far as smoke goes in my opinion. Also, I'll have to assume that people are bringing in their own ciggies, because they don't have a machine and charge $12 for a pack of Marlboros according to a sign on the wall. I don't smoke, but I know that's a huge markup. The beer selection was surprisingly good with a lot of craft brews as well as the standards. The prices on the craft beer were a little on the high side, but no worse than anyone else who carries specialty beers. The bartenders were also really friendly as were the other patrons around us, so that was another positive. The other point of the bar that I found disconcerting was a list of rules up on the wall, including a mandate to take any altercations outside. I'm surprised that such a sign is needed and it kind of made me feel a little less safe than I would prefer. Between that and the smokiness, I gave it a two. I would go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

Great little bar with a friendly crowd of regulars. Their wings are amazing and they have a large selction of craft beers. My favorite on tap was the Woodchuck Fall Cider. Prices were reasonable, they had a super friendly staff and the cutest and very clean women's restroom. What more could a girl ask for? I will definitely return on my next visit to Ambler.

If fun, stiff drinks and good beers is your priority over a sit-down dinner, 31 Main (or Bar 31) is a good spot to go. It is always crowded and the bartenders are very friendly, as well as the owner. They have a great beer selection on tap and the mixed drinks and always about 70/30 in favor of the alcohol. Warning: It is a smoking bar, and full of it, so if that's not your cup of tea. Go elsewhere in Ambler.

Great little town bar. Great prices and the bar tenders are very friendly. Would give five stars, but parking is a problem.

I was just at 31 for a bar crawl and what a difference it was since my last visit. They have the best draft selection in Ambler and have made some changes to the interior of the bar. The crowd was drastically different and the bartenders were great. Good Job 31! I really would hang out here a lot of they would just ban smoking. During my last visit there were several people smoking cigars and it was a bit much for such a small place.

I lasted all of 1 minute in this Venus fly trap . Looks OK from the outside, amazing tap lineup. But as soon as you walk in you are bombarded by cigarette smoke. Very interesting clientele to say the least. If it weren't for the smoke and awful music I may have stayed to try one of their delicious beers...

This is my favorite dive bar to go to in Ambler. The drinks are cheap and stiff and the bartenders are super friendly unless you give them a reason to kick you out. Also! They have a huge craft list for their 18 rotating taps, and I can be quite the beer snob, but they always have something I'll like whether it be bottled or on tap.

Buzzing, happening place even at 10 on a Sunday night, which is when I wandered in. Great beer, great vibe. Lots of locals but this out of towner felt right at home. Maybe because it was a lot more like the upstate NY bars of my youth than anything in DC. Go for it.

Probably the best craft beer selection in Ambler, which is saying a lot. They serve most of the beers in half-sizes, something I discovered in Europe and which I think we need desperately more of in the US, since it expands the amount of beer I can try in an evening! It's your typical dive bar, just with a craft beer bent. Big, horseshoe-shaped bar, plus 2 large corner booths and a chair rail with stools along both walls. Clientele is so-so. I had a guy almost nail me in the head with a dart, and of all the bars in Ambler, this is the one that seems most likely to have a fight break out. Loses one star for allowing smoking, which means I can really only stay for 1-2 beers at a time. I guess smoking is the hallmark of a dive bar in PA. Also, because of the smoking, I've never tried the food. But the beer is enough.

Best craft beers I vote it the best bar/ dive bar in 19002 area code. The bar tenders know their beers. It is safe, lots of TV screens and again a lot of craft beers. The patrons are friendly and it's open until 2am. They have growlers you can buy and take home. This place is awesome.

I was lured in here after dinner at From The Boot by a sign outside listing the various craft beers on tap. Stepping over a girl who was obviously high just outside the door should have been my first indication that this place was not going to be the diamond in the rough I was hoping for. The decent beer selection is an anomaly considering the clientele, who chain smoke and do not seem to appreciate your presence if you're not a townie. My advice is to turn around and head back towards KC's Alley on the main drag.

Nice after theatre dinner. Place looks like a hopping bar but never got too loud. Comfortable to stay and relax. Good food. The only problem being half the olives in my salad had pits. Overall a nice experience. Will return.

Great beer selection, great people, great deal of cigarette smoke. I always have fun there but, it's always my last stop because of the smoke. You leave there smelling like an ashtray. My wife won't even go in after walking past it when the door was open. But, like I said, the beer selection is fantastic and I always have a good time with the people there. Some times too good of a time.

Good selection of beers but in attentive bartenders set in a smoking atmosphere. Better off going up the street to Main and Forest MicroBrew!

I work in Ambler and pass by this dive every day. I was so curious to see what was going on inside so one day after seeing a movie at the ambler theater, I went in with a friend. 31 Main is your go to dive bar in Ambler. If you want to be anonymous, introverted and have no expectations, this is a good place to come for a beer or another choice of beverage. I did go in because the beer list is on the sophisticated side and was well priced. Did not try any food. I got the impression that it was a hard drinking crowd or maybe it's just because they allow smoking that they look that way. I do believe it would be a much better place without the smoking and I won't be frequenting it often for that reason but I do like what they offer in terms of beer both the bar and takeout... growlers, 6 packs, etc.

31 Main is always full of fun people! Everytime I go in, either the bartender or a customer has me laughing. They have a great selection of beer and they do have a hookah! The owner, Sam, has really renovated the place into something wonderful. It is a quaint little place with lots of character!
