I usually have my go-to places when I'm in the Altoona area but I took a gamble on this place since it was convenient to get to at the time and it's hard for me to pass by the words "Pizza" and "Italian." I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was exceptional. The service could have been a little better--it wasn't terrible, just inattentive towards the end of the meal.

Pit stop pizza! this Italian hangout is in the middle of Altoona's glitzy retail district. the crust was well-baked with a good blend of toppings (we had the veggie pie), decent service and restaurant-level pricing. glad to have it around on the way --

I have mixed feelings about this place. The pasta is good but the pizza and bread has no flavor. The Italian dressing is the worst tasting ever. If you want a good Italian restaurant go to Lena's or Villa Capri.

This place has the absolute worst customer service. We were welcomed, seated, and say for 25 minutes or more while watching the waitress dance around the dining room trying to figure out whether or not she should clear a table or seat other customers, while several were waiting for checks, others for refills... Never once did she acknowledge our existence once we were seated... The woman cooking eventually pulled what looked to be a zombie from the back to "help". This ball of enthusiasm made it clear by her attitude that she was happy to be there and proud to serve... Couldn't take the suspense of wondering what the food would be like so we left... Family Pizza in Greenwood had AWESOME, speedy service & great food!!!

Service was prompt, but with no emotion or personality. When asked about their specialty, the waitress had no input. The special Cheesesteak was mediocre at beat. The staff was lazily seated at tables and looked bored. One and done!

My husband and I ate here this past Friday night for dinner. The place was packed but our server was pretty good about refilling our drinks, taking our order in a timely manner and getting the check to us right when we asked. For dinner, we ordered motzarella sticks to start, I ordered the 3 cheese raviolis with vodka sauce and my husband had the seafood linguine. Our motzarella sticks ended up never coming but the waiter apologized many times and made sure it didn't show up on our bill. Not a huge deal since our food came so quickly and also had salads with it that came out right away for us to munch on. My raviolis were awesome and the vodka sauce was done right with a good amount of flavor. My husband did not really care for his meal as he said it was pretty bland and ended up having to add a lot of pepper and Parmesan cheese. The bread that was served with our meal was very good as well. I would definitely go back here for dinner, it was a nice atmosphere with quality and fast service.

Food is outstanding, prices are fair and service is great. What more can you want?

My boyfriend and I ate at Milillos while we were in town visiting friends for the 4th of July. I had an Italian sub and my boyfriend had a Chicken Parmesan sub. We shared an order of fries. The sandwiches were nothing spectacular, but they were good. The service was good as the employees were friendly. The fries were soggy, but that may have been due to the fact that we ordered carry out and a little time passed before we got to the fries. Given the options in Altoona, I would definitely go back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
