Disgusting! People that like this food must have no taste buds. The cheese they use is 100% american processed cheese product, there is no cheese in this food. I even asked the waitress what type of cheese they use, so I could get the fajitas in case they said american. She said it was 'el pecodilo', which i know she made up because I know spanish and mexican cheeses, this was neither. I had a bean burrito, which tasted like nothing and the flour tortilla was soaking wet covered in their salsa, which also tastes like just canned tomatoes. I also had a cheese enchilada. They are my favorite things to eat out in a mexican restaurant. This "cheese" they use is atrocious! Are you kidding me? No "authentic" mexican restaurant uses american cheese EVER! I'm sure Monterey Jack or cheddar isn't that much more expensive, cheapos! Oh and the enchilada sauce was brown and tasted of NOTHING. Then I tried the Chile Relleno, which is something I really enjoy when it is prepared properly. Nope, no enjoyment here, just that crappy cheese again, that's all I could taste. What a waste of money. I will NEVER go here again.

Great food, excellent service and fantastic margaritas; What more can you ask for in Altoona, Pennsylvania? Fish tacos are amazing...

I came to restaurant expecting to find a different Mexican restaurant but the one that was in this location had moved and Casa Valadez was there Instead. I went in noticing the sign for "Authentic Mexican Food" and expected not to find any such food. But to my surprise, the first thing that I noticed were signs for Mexican breakfasts. Then in the menu, I noticed a listing of tortas, Mexican sandwiches. No Mexican restaurant in Western Pennsylvania that I know of serves tortas. I was please with what I had found on the menu and decided to have Chile Colorado, slices of steak covered in a chili sauce. It was good and very, very spicy. This dish was not "altered" for American tastes. I was very pleased with my dinner, the service, and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The only drawback was Mexican music playing and a flat screen television on with CNN. If the television were turned off, that would have been much better.

I recently went here for lunch. Three customers, including myself were the only ones for over an hour. I was there for over an hour even though I only ordered an appetizer. Then to top it all off, my appetizer came out at two different times because they only cooked taquitos at a time (the appetizer was four). Plus I had to ask for the guacamole that was supposed to come with the order. The waitress did apologize and took off my soda from my bill but after waiting an hour for four subpar taquitos I should u e had the entire thing comped.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
