Two stars because of pleasant staff. My wife ordered a salad. I ordered the fried haddock (fish & chips). The salad was inedible. If one had to list ingredients the top of the list would be salt. Chicken was tasteless. The crispy chicken skin garnish was almost charcoal black. The haddock was not the best. Bread crumbs were hard as a rock. Covered small haddock pieces. I presume they were fresh fish but you could have fooled me. Frozen fish & chips at cheap franchises looked and tasted the same. The fries were really the seasoning for the main ingredient--salt. The beer was very good and reasonably priced. The wine was way overpriced especially for lunch. The staff was friendly but needs more experience to have food flow smoothly. The pub was nice except the food prep area looked like a diner with pots and pans on top that made it look like a diner! Hopefully, these are growing pains. Maybe, we will try again in 6 months or so. Soon as my blood pressure goes down as my blood loses its salt content. In the meantime, I will stick to the selections outside the pub and the $8 meals as I shop in a great grocery store. A true disappointment!

Just finished our lunch at The Pub...underwhelmed to say the least....I had the fish tacos and I was hard pressed to find the really small sliver of fish, it was all filler....my recommendation is to use Tilapia and actually offer the customer an amount of fish per taco that makes a difference. Wontons were soggy and had a not so great flavor of shrimp...asked for Sriracha sauce to help out...which it did because everything is better with Sriracha...was glad I asked about tipping as my first experience with the Pub was at the Collegeville/Phoenixville store and they have a steadfast philosophy of no tipping, and I might add much better food...the red flag went up when our server asked if we needed change...she then went on to say how different Wegman's have different philosophies and pay their serves differently...get it together Wegman's....you are raking in a ton of money from your snooty little store....pay your servers and don't rely on customers to compensate....glad I tried it as I won't be back but a little upset as I could have gone to the Elevation burger down the street...more satisfying, all organic meats and would have cost way less than the $40.00 plus I had to pay for lunch...

Stick to grocery stores Mr. Wegman! What a disappointment, if all the money hadn't already been sunk into this place I could guarantee this place would be closed in less than a year. I, like many of the folks, am a big fan of Wegmans as a store, but in the restaurant business they are a DISASTER. Place was nice enough but seating was just odd, no food served outside, no real booths to speak of, entire staff seemed confused at best, food selection was interesting but quality of food was average and prices are too high for average, beer selection is TERRIBLE (I thought this was supposed to be a craft beer bar?), and the hours are bad. I hate to say it but don't waste your time, the whole place makes no sense, will quickly become a lunch and soccer mom hangout.

Located inside the Allentown Wegman's grocery store. This is an upscale bar with unusual list of wines and beers. A different menu for lunch and dinner. Mostly high top bar tables, but there is a room in the back, with regular tables. Open to views of the store buffet diners and the kitchen. Food was a mix of pub fare and upscale dining. A bit more pricey than most pubs. Kids may not like the offerings, so you might want to take them to the store section to pick from the buffet foods and dine outside the pub. There are times when they have live music. Only 3 stars, because the food is a bit too pretentious and I'm too short to always want to jump up to sit a high top table.

Updated, after 3 visits for dinner and 1 lunch, I think lunch offers the better value proposition. Dinner portions and options a mixed bag. Mussels last night excellent. Great steak tip wrap for lunch (only on lunch menu). I asked for a burger last night , which is not on the dinner menu, and they do offer it. Ironically, only 1 cheese option. Disappointing considering the awesome offerings of exotic cheeses in the store. C'mon people, let's tantalize the taste buds a bit. Once again, no bread was offered pre-dinner (a pretty consistent oversight). Staff try very hard, and they do remember what frequent guests like. We'll continue to give it time to evolve.

Worst service ever! Waited 10 minutes to order drinks. Didn't have the beer I wanted even though it was in the store next to us! Forgot my appetizer order, asked me after another 5 minutes. Drinks took another 10 minutes to get. It was so bad, my appetizer came before my beer! Extremely disappointed, didn't order dinner. Best part of the night, bread came out 30 minutes later. Order arrived with cheese on burgers; kids were thrilled about that!!! Ok, not that it excuses their service, but they are covering my check. I still will not come back.

Love Wegmans but the pub stinks. Ate here for the first time tonight. Slow slow service even though it was not busy. Wait staff was indifferent. The Wegmans winter ale tasted like soap. Had a beef or steak wrap that smelled like a dirty sock and tasted worse. Other members or our party had average (at best) food. The average dive diner (there are many in the area) has better/more upscale food. A bit shocked considering how great the grocery store is. Forgot to add that the bread they served at the start was terrible. Which is odd considering the great bread they have 100 feet away in the bakery.

Went for lunch yesterday and had a crab cake sandwich which came with french fries. Both were very good but I thought a little pricey -- $14. For myself, the portions were adequate. They do try to class it up a little by putting the ketchup in little metal cups rather than plopping a bottle on the table. Overall, I liked it but won't be rushing to return.

My wife and I thought this would be a great idea and have been waiting to try it out. Now I wish I would have continued to wait...sort of like the wait I had in line!!! We got there around 6:30 on a Sunday. We saw a one man band playing guitar and thought this would be a great night out. We stood in line for about 15 min with three other small parties (less than 3 per group) There were TWO hostesses and a ton of waitresses. I counted over 16 available seats and both the bar and dining areas...and that was only being able to see half of the facility. We were told we would have to wait since there were people with reservations in front of us. NO ONE occupied most of the seats I saw empty through out the entire 1 1/2 hrs I was there!!! I saw numerous employees with empty hands walk by tables that needed to be cleaned up and no one touched a single table. There was one chef busting his butt while the other THREE stood around and chatted. There was one bartender who handled ALL of the seated guests at the bar. I ordered a hamburger that looked great when others were ordering it. Turns out it was mostly bun and you get one thin piece of cheese on it. I asked for it cooked well and it tasted like the burnt materials left on the grill. The only decent thing was the beer. Don't recommend this place unless you're going for just beers

Most surreal dining experience ever! Dining while watching others grocery shop?!? Someone tell Wegman's that if they have a "pub" that you don't need to try to be "classy" The "classiness" became a joke at our table, because everything they did they got close but tragically and hysterically wrong. 1. When ordering a glass of wine, do not bring the screw top bottle with label to the table to pour in front of us. 2. Do not make a huge deal out of the cold champagne bread 3A. When people ordered a hamburger and fish tacos with nothing before it, there is no need to remove the salad forks on a separate tray. 3B. When removing said salad forks do not put them on the same tray as the clean forks. 4. What is the 2 lady's at the front job title as they did not host? They just stood there, not taking you to your table 5. I was going to help myself to refills on my soda as there was a machine right in front of the entrance 6. They have a thing called "runners" there but no one seemed to be in a hurry for anything. 7. If my waitress was going to smash her boobs into me once more, I was going to file a restraining order. Not rushing back anytime soon.

I, like several other reviewers, am a great lover of Wegman's as a rule. So I was very disappointed with our trip to their pub. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive enough, but the food was the main problem. I ordered the pasta with tomatoes and feta, and got exactly that... some cheap boiled pasta with some chopped up tomatoes and crumbles of feta. Sorry, but I was expecting perhaps some seasoning. Some flavor. Not a meal that took four minutes and cost $2.50 to prepare, which I paid $11.00 for. It tasted like something I would make for dinner if I didn't feel like cooking. My boyfriend got a sandwich and fries, both of which were quite tasty. The price was just rather off for the portion size. We weren't expecting to drop fifty bucks on dinner in a grocery store. I realize it's Wegman's, but they are catering to a very narrow clientele. I definitely wouldn't go back for at least a year so that they can iron out the kinks and hopefully adjust their prices.

I am one of those Wegmans fanatics, so it pains me to write a 1 star review, even though it's well deserved. We expected a wait - were quoted 20 minutes. Ok, so that's 20-30 in my book. 40 minutes later, still waiting. Went to ask the girl how much longer, and she tells us we didn't answer her page so she gave away our table. Really? We'd been sitting right in the seating area next to the pub - pager never went off. She rang it again. Thing was dead. No apology. Told us we'd have to wait some more. Lovely. When we finally got a table 10 minutes later, there were piles of empty tables in the back and only 1 set of customers had walked out. They could have seated us & chose not to. On the way back, got splattered by food being carried by (that place is tight - like most pubs). Yes, stuff happens at restaurants. But restaurants should handle it well. Had to ask someone to bring me a napkin to try to clean it up. She comes back with a spray bottle & paper towels to clean the floor, but nothing for me. A server saw me looking pretty pissed and finally brought me a napkin with some club soda. Still, no apologies. Seated. We each ordered a drink and an entree. Prices are on par with a mid-range restaurant. No big deal if the food & service meets it. I will say that the beer they are having made for the pub is good. My mixed drink was putrid - a $10+ cocktail should be a lovely treat, not something that reminds you of college bars. Some bread showed up...tasted like their cheap prewrapped bread...and stale. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Server stopped by to apologize about the wait. And we waited. Entrees show up. The mahi mahi is passable, but is not worthy of the price tag they've bestowed on it. My fish & chips were literally inedible. If I wanted to eat crunchy oil, I would have ordered it. Flavorless fish, coated in flavorless dried bread crumbs, soaked in oil. I sent it back - told her she could pitch it. This should get you a manager to handle the situation at the table - which did happen - but the manager should know how to handle. No one ever checked on us until after my husband was done eating, so there was no way I wanted something else. You don't go to restaurants to make your partner wait another 15 minutes for them to bring you what you should have gotten to start with. I tell the manager that the fish was no good. Her words are "can I buy you something else?" I don't know - maybe I'm being sensitive - but I think this is the WORST response a manager can give you. But she said it to me more than once, and I heard it being used with other customers, so apparently it's the new Wegmans catch phrase. No, nothing else. Just a check. "Are you sure? I'd be happy to get you something off the prepared food line." Really? That's the best you got, Wegmans. Though, sadly enough, I saw two people take her up on that (the guy next to us got two things of sushi when his pub meal was bad). However, they took his dinner of his bill, and comped his sushi. I got a bill with everything. Really, Wegmans? When someone sends something back, after dealing with all of your crap, you give them a bill including the item they sent back? Flag down the manager again, and tell her I'm not paying for the fish. She fixes it (we still paid for everything else), and asks again, "can I buy you something else?" I very nicely (which took every bone in my body) told her that after waiting an hour, to have my clothes ruined by your staff, to be served bad food, and then be asked to pay for it, no, I don't want any more of your food. The right response was to apologize for the bad food. And the horrible service. To offer to pay for the dry cleaning on my pants. I would have even been okay with paying for the full bill, had they sent me home with a gift card to try them again (don't they want people with bad experiences to come back and try them again and love them?). Good going, Wegmans. So let's round up my evening. I paid Wegmans still nearly $45 for a crappy dinner - spent $10 on dry cleaning to find out that I'd lost a $150 pair of pants - and I've literally not been back to Wegmans since. Too honked off. I'm sure I'll make it back to my standard grocery runs, but for now, I'll spend my $100 a week in grocery money elsewhere until I've cooled off.

First off our device was just fine. Prompt courteous and pleasant. The Calamari appetizer was good. My lobster roll was sort of tasteless unless you count celery. And there were just tiny bits of lobster like they get the cheap frozen kind. The fries were good and nice to find garlic cloves mixed in. Nice touch fried garlic. Food priced right. I am short and didn't care for the high table with tall seats. My feet dangled.

Drove 20 minutes to pick up a 6-pack but was turned away because the area closes at 10pm on the weekends. Kind of arrogant to have the product out in the open but shooed away by a rude employee a few minutes after "close". Took my business elsewhere.

I've been to the Pub twice and loved it both times! Their burgers and fries are hot, fresh and delicious.

This is an update form a previous review. Again, Wegman's as a grocer, you cannot beat it-five stars. As a pub and restaurant - 2 stars and continues to be 2 stars. The menu is still very pedestrian and overpriced for what it is. The tap selection this time around was pitiful. It was the most uninspired tap selection that I have seen in a long time. Their idea of happy hour is quite frankly a joke. $3 drafts are great but only 2 of the 8 taps are eligible. Appetizer specials only apply to very select ones. Wegamns Allentown needs to realize that there are an amazing selections of bars and restaurants in the area that offer superior taps, food and prices to include Happy Hour. Why go to Wegman's Pub versus other places- there is really no reason unless you just happen to be there shopping. I would not recommend this as a go-to place for anyone. I know Wegman's can do better. They just need to stop thinking like a corporate giant and start thinking like a neighbor.

If I could give the Pub a 2 1/2 I would. We didn't get any drinks per se but we tried two things for dinner. My wife got this amazing BBQ Steak Salad (Mixed Greens tossed in Ranch Dressing, topped with roasted corn, tomatoes, cornbread croutons, green onions, cucumbers & BBQ sliced sirloin) This was a monster of a salad and could definitely been eaten as a meal, my wife couldn't finish it. I tasted the steak and it was delicious. If we ever eat there again that's what I am getting. I on the other hand tried the Lemon Garlic Chicken Sandwich (Cheddar Cheese, Avocado, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Parmesian Aioli, leaf lettuce, vine ripened tomato) served with Tuscan Fries (Rosemary/Sage/Italian Parsley/Garlic) Let's start with my bland sandwich..with all of those flavor notes mentioned in the menu how was it bland ? I didn't taste ANY LEMON OR GARLIC FIRST OFF..if the chicken was seasoned in that..I honestly think they forgot it ? Second the aoli probably shoulda been spread on both the top & bottom bun, because the lettuce wiped out the aioli completely. As for my fries ..i think the only herb i tasted?! was the parsley which was toasted. So for what I thought would be an amazing meal was horrendously boring. They say their food is prepared by the same chef's that do the food in the market cafe..i think they use the lackey sous chefs for the pub. The service was eh..took kinda long to get out food and it wasn't that busy. Clean and has a weird ambiance to it because it's not it's own area, the "walls" are draperies within the market.

  • Jennifer P.

If it's marginally busy, service won't be good. Also, if you go at happy hour and order off the happy hour menu at 4:27, you'll be charged full price. Lame.

So the Wegmans in MD does not have a pub, nor do they sell any kind of alcohol, due to our laws. So needless to say whenever I see a good store that sells beer I get overly excited. When I see that it's a Wegmans that sells beer AND has a pub? It's like I found Jesus or something. My mom and I decided to have dinner here because seriously, we don't have this magical thing in MD. Service was great! We were seated quickly and our server was fast, polite, and not overbearing. Mom got a salad, and I got a chicken quesadilla and fries. The food was good. I mean, I've never had a bad meal at any Wegmans so I'm not surprised. My blueberry beer was also good. All in all we spent $20, not bad at all! I wish there was one closer to me in MD!

Good beer selection and it's usually not crowded on Sundays; so, you can watch the game you want. The service is pretty awful. It took me 10 minutes to get the beer I ordered, and the restaurant was maybe half full. I'll keep coming back to watch the game, but that's about it.

The bad - Our server seemed very overworked. She was always unavailable and never around when we wanted additional drinks or when we needed some extra help. The ugly - Someone in my group ordered the soup of the day, which was supposed to be a bean/chorizo soup. When it was dropped off at the table, it was nothing as expected and turned out to be some kind of beer/cheese soup. We tried to find our server, but once again, she was not around. The good - We were seated next to the hostess stand. Whenever we needed something, the hostess seemed to be more than willing to help us out and get us the right soup or answer our questions. The hostess was definitely the star of the evening. The meh - The food was so-so. Nothing amazing. I had a turkey burger and it was just what I would expect, but nothing completely amazing. Other thoughts - There was a guy with a guitar playing music, but I felt bad for him, because he was stuffed in a corner far away from where anyone could actually hang out and listen to him. It would have been nice if he was featured more prominently, since he was pretty decent.

Great food. We did the buffalo shrimp appetizer and it was terrific! The shrimp were so plump, golden brown and crispie, ladeled in a mild buffalo sauce....mild with a KICK! :) We fell in love with our entress -- fish tacos and my guest did a turkey burger. Oh my oh my. The fish tacos were so flavorful and delish. Delicate white fish, with a zany, zesty fresh pico degallo, and some fresh cliantro, with a big squeeze of some sort of a chipotle rannnch sauce that just pulled it all together. Also a fresh lime on the side ! Omg so good! So fresh and refresshing! and decently priced. The fries are truffle fries. So crispie and well seasoned, and perfectly cooked and plentiful, but me and my guests could not finish our fries! My guests turkey burget was succulent, moist, flavorful, and not too fatty or greasy. It has fresh grill marks on it and it was very pleasing to the eye. The bun was a crusty, rustic, chiabatti roll, and it was so fantastic. I took a bite and I moaned ! LOL Service was great. I took off one star for price. While the entrees seem afforable, the drinks are expensize, almost 3 bucks for a coke? Please! Other than the put off of the soft drinks prices, we were pleased and will be back. Hey, and I am from Rochester NY, grown up with Wegmans my entire 35 years on this planet, Rochester does not have a PUB like this Wegmans does. They did it right!

I would not recommend coming to this place. Wegmans is great but they should stick to being a grocery store. Or rather, they should bring over the friendly cashiers to work at the restaurant instead of the people who they have working at the Pub. Food was OK but the service was mediocre at best.

I was surpised to read everyone killing The Pub. I had a great visit... how could anything be bad when you combine the best supermarket ever with a bar? We sat at the bar, and took advantage of the great Happy Hour specials. The beer was nice and cold, and my wife enjoyed the Pino Grio they offered on tap. We each had three drinks and the total was $25. Score. I also enjoyed watching everyone cook in the open kitchen.

Sadly I have to write a bad review.. We started eating here back when they had their" burger week" we had such a great experience we kept coming back.. The last couple times, not so much.. Last night my wife and I stopped in for a burger.. It was late.. But we are pretty easy customer's.. The first issue came with our drinks my wife ordered sweet ice tea.. That's not what we got.. No big deal.. Just add sugar.. Then we were asked if we wanted bread.. We said yes!. Never got it.. Ok.. Late night our waitress might have forgot.. Disappointing but I can cut some slack.. Then our food came.. I rarely send food back.. But we heard our waitress say medium.. Mind was burnt, over cooked, and so dry when I cut it it crumbled...I couldn't eat it.. And our waitress had her back to us for about 15 minutes till my wife went to the bar to get her attention.. She halfheartedly apologized and came back saying" they don't understand how it happened they pulled the burgers off at the same time." well my wife's were slightly better in the middle but horrible on the edges.. She didn't realize till the end and she didn't want to go through having it remade.. My second one still was burnt in the bottom but at least medium inside.. At that point I just sucked it up and ate it.. Add the fact there is NO season on the burgers.. And the fries on both plates completely over friend and hard.. I'm pretty sure that is the last time we eat there.. The place has that gastropub feel.. A decent menu.. But the execution is terrible.. All around.. Skip this place and just order a sub from the grocery store

Greg and I went here last Friday for dinner. Upon arriving to Wegmans we both decided we did not want to food shop hungry and was pretty shocked to see how packed the place was. We were seated promptly at the bar which was full. However it took our waitress quite a bit to get to us to get our drink order. We ordered drinks and our meal at the same time. (lemonade and soda) The food was fantastic, I had the turkey burger and I loved it. Service needs to improve, the manager was looking at all the waitresses tips when he was helping clean. I don't know why he would do that, but its not his business.

At first I was like - lunch in a grocery store? But it was a really nice meal at a decent price. It was a business lunch for six people and we all had different items from the menu. We all had some sort of sandwich from vegetarian to a really good looking pub burger. The service was friendly and prompt and the server knew a lot about the menu, specials and ingredients.

The quality is generally good and the wait staff works to please, but I'll no longer becoming here because I had wings with amazing sauce once that made me think "this place is great" only to find now that they have curtailed anything bot mild or spicy humdrum wings. Me? Coming to a joint just because the wings were great when I generally don't even like wings? Yep! They were that good, and now they are gone. Sorry Wegmans. The rest of the food is ok fast food stuff I like other places like Mint better for if I'm going out to eat. I hate when something is special, then gone.finis

I was excited to dine at The Pub because I love shopping at Wegmans! However, the service at the restaurant was terrible!! The wait staff and manager seemed inexperienced and clueless. It took about 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. The waitress went to get the manager (because she felt so bad about the delay...it wasn't even busy). The manager came along and apologized profusely. When the food finally arrived, my friend's food was very hot, while my dish was cold. She told us the entrees would be taken off our bill because they took so long, which was fine...but we were so disappointed anyway because the food wasn't that great for the price. I got the salmon. The worst I've had in the Lehigh Valley!! Not worth the money.

The food was much better when they first opened. It still takes FOREVER to get your food!!! And it always seems no one is happy to work here and it definitely shows in the service and the food and I am a Wegmans grocery shopper every week but I will stick to the buffet the food is always great from the buffet, last try for the pub!!!

Lunch at Wegmans usually means the food bar, not a bad choice, but we opted for the Pub. First time in I ordered a burger and the wife a wrap. The Pub is a nice change to get out of the Grocery Store feel. Food was good but nothing exceptional. I would go back but would not be expecting gourmet.

Disgusting! Sat and looked at dirty dishes and plates on both sides of our table for 25 minutes while staff stood around chatting with each other, walking past the mess countless times without even bothering. The hostess walked past a dozen times as well, chatting it up. PLACE was EMPTY and they could not care less. Obviously no management in this place and the service was super slow. When staff can have group conversations while service stinks, waitress was clueless, kept forgetting things. Too busy socializing! We joked how there were 2 employees cleaning up outside the restaurant where people sit to eat from the self serve food, but the PUB staff was not interested. Go there if you enjoy filth, and lousy service. Wegmans, get some real employees and management or shut the doors, it will only be a matter of time anyways.

The Pub at Wegmans started fine when they first opened. I loved it during the first 6 months. I have been back multiple times in the past 6 months and each time it is like management has been on vacation. Food quality has dropped a little. The buffalo shrimp appetizer was a "9" when it opened and is now a "3". Somebody at Wegmans made a conscious decision to purchase different shrimp. But the worst part is the service.... 2 suggestions 1. Please tell the staff to "Focus On The Customers".. There are far to many personal conversations happening. 2. Please tell the staff to keep their hands away from their faces. There is too much touching of mouths, eyes and noses. This is why it seems to me that the management is 'on vacation'. Please fix this Wegmans

I'll start by saying I've ate here several times, the service each time wasn't stellar at all. The last time I went was really the last straw, in addition to very poor service, they couldn't even do a chicken quesadilla correctly! The service from the waitress was the same as people had listed in their reviews, but to make things even worse they had tons of staff just standing around doing nothing, right in front of me! I sat at the bar and had an empty glass for half the time I was eating, no one standing near by cared or noticed, and my waitress was no where to be found. Finally at the very end of my meal someone asked if I wanted another drink, a bit too late for that. The chicken quesadilla was pretty bad, you'd think there's no way someone could screw that up, but they did. The chicken was shredded and there was hardly any in the quesadilla, for the most part all I tasted was cheese. Bottom line, save your time and money and go somewhere else, you could get much better service at pretty much anywhere else in the valley. P.S. Their beer selection sucks

I am adding one more 2 star review. The 4 of us had lunch on a Saturday. The place was not particularly busy. As others have noted this seems to be a restaurant that does not know what it wants to be. I had my usual hamburger, actually cheeseburger. It was dry despite being medium. The Cubano was dry as well. One of the two steak wraps was described as dry. We all had Tuscan fries. Two of us liked them but mine were barely warm and kinda blah. As were my partner's. Service was good. Waitress was attentive and brought the check promptly. I found the ambiance difficult to tolerate. The music was so loud I had difficulty hearing our conversation. The restrooms were clean.

I really wanted to like The Pub. I shop at Wegman's regularly and also eat prepared foods in the Market Cafe section. This pub suffers from an identity crisis. The menu is way too ambitious for a restaurant in the middle of a grocery store. The food was ok - not great. And I was really hoping for more 'pub-like' food on the dinner menu - burgers, sandwiches, hearty fare. The decor is not very original, with commonplace print reproductions of works of art and off-the-shelf everything - it could be a chain restaurant. All in all, disappointing. I hope that Wegman's will make some changes.

Excellent crab cake sandwich and lemon garlic chicken sandwich. Loved the simple, fresh, and inexpensive arugula side salad. Great coffee. Beautiful presentation and ambience. You forget you're in a grocery store.
