Good Jersey style diner in the Lehigh Valley. There's allot of places in the Valley that say they are "Diners" but this place actually is. Clean eating areas and restrooms don't smell like a truck stop. Will visit here again. Oh, food is good. :)

It's my favorite diner. We'll start with that statement. I'm a diner kinda guy. I've been to just about every one that I can find, and this is the best one that I've found. The portions are freakishly large, but freakishly tasty, and freakishly affordable at any hour of the day. I love every bite. If you want something a little special that might not be on the menu (like disco fries), you'll be delighted at what you get. My brother and I have been working our way through the menu, and thus far, we really liked the Belgian waffles with ice cream. I'm sure the waffles by themselves without ice cream is great, but if you want a treat, ask for it a la mode. The wait staff is very friendly, and the seats are comfortable. Bonus: Gents can buy condoms for a quarter in the restrooms.

One of my favorite diners so far in the Lehigh area. Everything was good but also huge: the hash browns were thicker than normal (almost like smashed potatoes), the sausage links were double the thickness of normal ones, and the sweet potato pancakes were really thick and fluffy. Prices were surprisingly cheap given the portion size.

Good food, generous portions and side options, reasonable prices, and friendly service! One of the best if not the best diner in the area. We eat here any time we get the chance.

I've been to this place with my mother many times. She likes it but I can't stand it. She always wants to go though. Every single time we go there the waitress is so clueless she never remembers to put the soup in a to go cup (we usually don't eat it but prefer to take it home). And it's the same waitress every time that does it! The food is average. I've had better and worse from other diners. Be warned some of the food items are not what they seem (steak quesadillas are cheese steak not steak!). And don't be surprised to have your meal sitting in oil. Hopefully my mom won't want to go anytime soon!

Best diner in the Lehigh valley. Open 24 hours, staff is always friendly, and great milkshakes. This is the only diner I'd dare to order dinner at!

This is a great place. Typical diner scene with some really cool "50's style" attributes, like the jukebox at every booth. They could stand to update their music selection, but I think that it adds to the charm. The food is good, wouldn't say great, but the price is right. One of the few places you can still go to get a bite and be under $10 per person. And they don't charge an arm and a leg for soup... It seems like everyone wants to charge $4-5 just for a bowl of soup... This place is around $2. They're one of the few options around for a cheap salad bar, too. It seems pretty clean as well, at least from what I've seen.

I usually have good experiences here, but my last visit left me absolutely livid! I ordered chicken pot pie, which came as either a lunch (soup and fries incl.) or dinner (soup, fries, and pudding incl) special. I opted for the second as I really enjoy their rice pudding. Service was MUCH slower than normal, and we could clearly see our waitress doing her sidework instead of paying attention to us. I didn't like the pot pie, as the only flavor I could discern was cooked carrots which I don't really like. I didn't send it back because I knew it would take another long time to get new food. Once we finished, the waitress finally came to see about dessert and informed us there was no rice pudding. I was bummed, so I just skipped dessert. I waited so long for the bill that my gf had to leave early to make sure she wasn't late getting back to work. When I finally got the bill and took it up to pay, I asked to have it adjusted because they didn't have the pudding I wanted. The hostess/manager/harpy started arguing that neither mine nor my gf's came w pudding. I showed her on the menu where she was clearly in the wrong which seemed to anger her further. The actual price difference wasn't big, I just didn't want to pay for something I didn't get. I paid and left very frustrated...

Go there almost every weekend for breakfast and have never been disappointed. Friendly staff and the food is always consistently good. Tried all the other diners in the area and they are our favorite by far.

I've gone to QCD numerous times in the past and always enjoyed the food and the service. You also can't beat the prices either. However, this time, something was amiss. While the service was great, the food was tasteless but sour. I thought it was just my food, but when my wife got her food, it was the same. I ended up eating just bites of mine and my wife atr a few french fries. We felt bad and didn't want to insult anyone so my wife got a box to take home so we could give it to our dog. When we got the box, there was a long hair and a dead bug inside of it. As much luck we've had in the past, I can say me or my wife won't be going to QCD again any time soon.

Wonderful diner with a 1950's charm. Don't know how it took so long for us to find it. Food is good wholesome diner "comfort" food. Pancakes are sensational, among the best I've eaten. A little cramped but that doesn't impede the service - quick, efficient and FRIENDLY. Great place for kids and grown ups. Read my complete review at valleybreakfast.com/2010… then drive on over for a yummy meal!

Been going there for over 40 years and the owners are great and they are there every day. The meals are excellent and a great value. Their soups are among the best in the world. Hope they are there for a long time to come.. Great People make Great Food!!!

At first I was going to rate this five stars, based on the sweet potato pancakes alone. But, upon reflection, it's about a four star. The service is nice enough. The menu is large enough. The sweet potato pancakes are about my favorite breakfast EVER, and I've eaten a lot of breakfasts... and they're priced right, for just over $3 for a full stack. They also know how to make an egg properly, and the home fries are above average. Other people didn't fare quite so spectacularly. My girlfriend's breakfast burrito was pretty bland, made with potatoes and eggs and American cheese, and not much else. It could use a zing. And the jalapeno poppers are served with marinara... which is just plain weird, if you ask me. Overall, though, I think this is the best value and best down-home-style breakfast in the valley. EDIT, 05/28/10: Upon another visit, everything was PERFECT. Pancakes were just as good. The veggie burgers are quite large and "meaty". Onion rings are fantabulous. Seriously, five stars. And lunch was under $16 for the two of us, including drinks and sides... how it's possible, I don't know!

Ordered their "crazy" omelet. It was certainly crazy. It was more of a hash of eggs, potatoes, vegetables, and meat. And it came with a side of crab bisque and pumpernickel toast. And it was only $6. Waitress at the counter was super-friendly. Made sure I got my soup nice and hot. Next time I come back, I want more crab bisque and eggs. This makes no sense whatsoever. But I think it works. The craziness is part of the charm, I guess?

FAIL! Went there solely based on the strength these Yelp reviews, and boy, were they way off base. I got breakfast consisting of pancakes, bacon, and home fries, and all three dishes arrived COLD! Sent them all back, including the leathery pancakes. The bacon re-arrived greasy and burnt so badly I couldn't eat it, the home fries were warmer but very greasy with lots of black bits in the potatoes, and the pancakes were new but mushy and not good. YUCK! Consumed around 30% of the replacement food before I thought better of it and just stopped forcing myself to eat a miserable meal. Paid my bill and left. The waitress was good, however. She tried to solved the problem, but the people in the back failed her miserably. I overheard her yelling at them about it, but to no avail. She was like an honest farmer shoveling manure off the back of a truck. She should take her skills elsewhere where they would probably be more appreciated. I give the waitress an "A," everything else an "F," so still FAIL! FAIL! FAIL!

My hubby & I frequent Queen City Diner whenever we are on that side of the Lehigh Valley. Their salad bar is OK (just iceberg lettuce) w/ the usual onions, tomatoes, black olives, bean salad, hard-boiled eggs, tuna pasta salad, etc. They offer packets of low-fat & fat-free dressings along w/ the regular dressings, which is nice. Nothing fancy - too bad they don't have fresh broccoli or cauliflower. Breakfast is good & priced just right. Again, nothing too fancy. One time I ordered the poached eggs w/ spinach. The spinach was from frozen & not fresh, so the spinach was mushy & tasteless. Good pancakes, burgers, sandwiches, etc., though. The kitchen can be slow when it gets busy (which is why I opt for the salad bars more often than not). Their fries have the extra coating on them to make them "crispy" which my hubby & I are NOT fans of. Regardless, they food is cheap. Try to sit in one of the booths up front rather than the tables in the old "non-smoking" section (the entire diner is now non-smoking). The back area w/ the tables has a tendency to be too tight for my comfort zone.

Queen City... a TRUE diner ('cause its open 24 hours). Now I have been here many times, never during the daylight hours, and typically against my will as it is a favorite of many of my friends. Take this into account when reading my brief review. I have ordered various dishes here and have every time had a consistently average experience. The one thing that stands out in my mind as good are the chocolate milkshakes which the waitresses will whine about making but still do anyway (they aren't being paid to stand around). The place is a bit grungy but some like that kind of atmosphere. It has much improved since the smoking ban even though the smell still lingers. Now understand that I've been there at times as late as 1:30 am. Despite the time the wait staff has always been decent or at least tried their best to be (I guess you get used to working that shift). At least they have one of those mega-touch machines. Make sure to play photohunt.

My family and I ate at the Queen City Diner for the first time last week and we thought it was head and shoulders above the other diners we've tried in the area. Good diner food, ok iceburg salad bar, (which can use a few more items), a good size menu and hot fresh coffee at very affordable prices The diner is clean and and the staff seemed very friendly and accommodating. The burgers and sandwiches were a good size and tasty and we did not feel that we were overcharged. My only minus was the small seating area for those of us wholike a table instead of a booth. We will eat there again for sure.

Food was OK. Typical Diner food. Service was horrible. After bringing out our food she never checked on us and just never brought out our scrapple at all. We looked around for her and she was gone. Finally another woman came over to give us a check and goes, "oh that's your scrapple? It's been sitting in the window for 15 minutes. Do you still want it?" No. No we don't still want that nastey food that's been sitting there forever because no one felt like bringing it out or checking on our table.
