While others are going orgasmic over good Mexican food, I'll get down and dirty over some fast-food fried chicken. Pros: Good chicken and good sides, will always put KFC to shame in those departments Con: Can be dirty as hell inside. It may not be the best Popeyes in the world. But as the only Popeyes in the Lehigh Valley, average Popeyes is certainly a step above any other chicken chain in the area. While Jim D hates chains, I really don't mind them if there's nothing better in the area. So if you've found better local fried chicken, suggest it to me so I don't have to keep shelling money out to corporate America. So....that's pretty much it. Ah yes: the last time I went to Popeyes, it was around 9:30 PM. It may have been near the end of the night, but that's no excuse for how dirty and disheveled the seating area was. There were wrappers, napkins, cups, straw wrappers, and ketchup packages everywhere. So I'd suggest takeout only.

I respect the fact Jim D likes his grease, but I certainly wouldn't recommend this particular dumpster for a late night binge. I've travelled a lot and been in hundreds of restaurants... aside from a couple places in Nashville, TN- I can't think of a more disgusting dining area. I made my daughter sit on a few napkins. Don't visit at in-between meal times. My 3pm combo was possibly the most disgusting thing I've been required to ingest since grape cough syrup. The staff was surprisingly cordial- I guess anything positive here should be included in a review. Overall the smiles were not enough to illicit more than one star. I literally live 500ft from this place and I'll will walk a mile before I satisfy my fried needs here.

Okay - I've never had a problem w/ the food but the dining experience I've had each time was awesomely bad enough to give this a 1 out of 5. If you supress the image from the picture I posted then go ahead and just please do yourself a favor and go through the drive through. And pretend I gave it a 4 out of a 5. I haven't been back in since the few months after it opened. There's no excuse for the kitchen which is clearly visible to the rest of us to look so disgusting. Okay - i may have still ate and enjoyed my meal that night. I was embarrassed after sharing that picture and admitting that I still ate there. I vow to never go back.

I don't expect Popeye's to be Gourmet fast food, but this Kitchen in Allentown is by far THE WORST and DIRTIEST fast food place I have EVER been to. Where is the quality control? Forget that! Where is the Health Authority? This was my 2nd visit because I absolutely love Popeye's food. But I will never eat at the Allentown location again until they clean up their act.. Why has corporate allowed this franchise to spoil the name of a really good food product?

I have a secret. I like Popeyes...a lot. There, I said it. I can't help it. Those biscuits are blissfully good and that greasy chicken perpetually beckons me. They just opened their first location in the area and I am ecstatic. Not sure what's with the name change though. I still hate chains, but I'll probably sneak back here when my next junk food craving hits. Srsly.
