Third times a charm. Had a hankering for Chinese this past weekend and tried Mr. Wonton again. Admit we didn't like them the other two times, but decided to try again mostly because they are so close and I was feeling lazy. Got a large order including mooshoo pork, beef with black bean sauce, general tso's chicken, chicken and broccoli, veg, lo mein, and spring rolls. Everything was very good. Thankfully, I called and placed my order for a pick up at a later time because it was super busy and when I arrived there was a long wait for new orders ; I only had to wait a few minutes to pick up and the food was steaming hot. A few days later, I called in a lunch order of broccoli and bean curd. I was surprised that when I picked up, I was told there was a $10 minimum on credit card orders. I asked too see where that was printed on the menu and she said it wasn't. My choices were to leave my order or buy a soda. Bought the soda. Lunch was good, but would have liked to know the credit card minimum before I orderd.

I live in the neighborhood nearby this hidden gem and decided to try it after hearing that the owners of Peking in Trexlertown sold their restaurant. All I can say is WOW! So delicious. In fact this may be some of the best Chinese food that I've tasted. Keep up the great work!

This is a wonderfully affordable restaurant, and the food is very good. The best Chinese food in the area. The owners are friendly and welcoming each and every time you walk through their door, and will get to know you by name. You can tell they are genuinely thankful for the business.

I consider myself lucky to live nearby to this place. I've gotten take out several times and I have been consistently more than satisfied with everything they offer. The meals are very reasonably priced, and the portions they give you are quite large. I called ahead, and when I arrived the food was ready and piping hot. I typically order their orange chicken wonton soup, both of which are phenomenal. Highly recommend.

Delicious Chinese food. Friendly staff. Best Chinese in the area. Good family ambience. The chicken with mixed vegetables is really good and so are the shrimp dumplings. The restaurant has an open kitchen and is kept clean!

I decided to try a new place for Chinese carry-out and Mr. Wonton is just a little further than my usual choice. My usual "first time taste" is with hot and sour soup and pan-fried dumplings. I added General Tao's Chicken as the main course and was very satisfied with all my choices! The hot and sour soup was deleicious. Light with plenty of pork, julienne veggies and egg white. Spicy and tart well balanced. The dumplings were great as well, although, they could have been a bit crispier on the bottom for me. The General Tao's Chicken was served with some lightly steamed broccoli and lots of chicken. Very tasty and I would have preferred a bit more spice to the sauce. That can all be remedied the next time I order and there will be a next time! Thanks for a great new place to go in the neighborhood!

Check this place out! I ordered several dishes for takeout to get a good overall feel of food quality. None of them disappointed. Some favorites were: - the steamed dumplings (reminded me of my favorite childhood chinese place), - the beef lo mein (made with authentic egg noodles), - the general tso's chicken - and the roast pork egg foo young (fried to perfection with sauce on the side). Even though its in a quiet plaza, off the beaten path, it was the busiest place there. That speaks for itself if you ask me.

Best takeout chinese food in the area. Pretty much everything I've gotten from here is good and well prepared. My only complaint is sometimes the roast pork bun is a little dried out, but otherwise everything else has been very good.

I have searched for a while for GREAT Chinese food in the area. Most were either just fried food or over salted junk. Mr. Wonton is by FAR the best. The vegetables are always VERY fresh and crunchy, the sauces are extremely tasty but NOT pure salt. I get the shrimp because it's fresh and NOT tiny (like 2 other places nearby). And the family that owns Mr. Wonton are amazing. They smile, know our names (even our newborn) and the kids are adorable. We won't go anywhere else.

I really liked this place the first couple of times my husband and I ordered food from here but my husband wasn't 100% sold. We really enjoy fried dumplings but the dumplings here are really doughy and are soggy on the side that isn't fried. The last time I ordered here, they made me the wrong chicken dish. It was 8pm and I had just worked all day and didn't want to wait for them to remake it. I was really hesitant to take the dinner they had made and after I finally decided to take it the way it was, they still charged me full price. While I enjoy the way they prepare their chicken, I probably won't be ordering from here again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
