Jade Garden is a little "no frills" Chinese takeout restaurant surrounded by used car lots and an auto repair shop. The place is order at the counter with open kitchen and a few tables for eating in. The standard Chinese American menu is offered including Szechuan, Hunan, and Cantonese dishes. A few Latin Especiales are also offered here including pollo dishes, pescado, chicharron de pollo (Puerto Rican fried chicken, and tostones, o maduros (plantains), Most items on the menu are priced under $10. 29 Daily Lunch Specials ($4.95-$5.15) served with pork fried rice and choice of egg roll or soup, 12 Peking Specials ($5.75) (appetizers) served with pork fried rice and 22 Combination Platters ($6.95-$7.15) served with pork fried rice & pork egg roll are offered here. I stopped at Jade Garden for lunch takeout recently. I got the L20 Shrimp with Garlic Sauce ($4.95) with pork fried rice and chicken noodle soup. The food was prepared fresh quickly and I was good to go in about 6 minutes after ordering. The portion size was just right. The main dish had firm shrimp (cleaned) and a mix of fresh vegetables (carrots, snow peas, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, Chinese mushrooms, onions, & baby corn) in a sweet spicy garlic sauce. The pork fried rice (light yellow color) had a soft fluffy texture with pieces of tender pork and onions. The chicken noodle soup served in a hearty chicken broth with soft lo mein noodles and tender pieces of boneless chicken. The food tasted very fresh and had good flavors. Other than the old school atmosphere inside this hole in the wall, I give the Chinese food 4 stars.
