China House III has changed its' name to "White Rice" it is now a teppan style Japanese restaurant. At first glance, it is very well decorated and transmits a calm serene atmosphere. It was very clean as well and I thought I was in a Japanese garden. Unfortunately, the food was not so beautifully prepared or taste worthy. I sat at the sushi bar and ordered a Sapporo-I like the crisp and dry rice beer flavor with a sushi order. I was told they don't have a liquor license. Hmmm...OK, what's sushi without sake or sapporo? I then ordered iced green tea which the waitress said they have then after I ordered it she said they didn't have any. I guess they were pushing their somewhat exotic Japanese fruit juice bottled beverages at $3.95 a pop. I just got sweetened iced tea which was reminded me of powdered Liptons. I ordered the sushi-sashimi deluxe dinner with six pieces of sushi and fifteen pieces of sashimi plus a sushi roll. Soup OR salad was included. I guess I am spoiled in that every other sushi place I have eaten at always included soup AND salad, so I found this to be odd. as an appetizer I ordered a seaweed salad and I received a generous portion that was cold and crisp. The sushi chef prepared my sushi platter and refused to give it to me until I finished my seaweed salad. So, I wolfed down my salad so I could get at my sushi. Another oddity. I received my platter and was short three pieces of sashimi-I received twelve pieces and should have received fifteen pieces. With the large array of fish that was visible, I received the usual: Tuna, LOTS of salmon (which I do not like), yellow tail and snapper. The sushi was the same. Usually a sushi chef will mix up the sushi and sashimi so you get to try different fish. The roll was a crunchy spicy tuna roll. As far as taste is concerned, nothing exceptional here. It didn't even taste that fresh. The rice was not vinegar rice and just plain white rice. There are much better sushi places in the valley and White Rice ranks at the bottom. For the price-my bill came close to $40.00- it's worth passing this place by. Dull, boring sushi.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
