I went here for the first time last Saturday, and it sure won't be the last time! It was a really nice night, so we ate in the outdoor courtyard area. I loved the statues, plants, and especially the fountain in the middle of all the tables! The food was delicious. I am a HUGE fan of garlic bread, and I can definitely vouch that the garlic nuggets are gooood. I ate the fettuccine alfredo and my boyfriend had pasta with the white clam sauce and we both really enjoyed our meals. The service was excellent. The night we went, the restaurant had a staff shortage due to unexpected call-outs, but our server was still extremely attentive and even surprised us with a dessert drink at the end of the night to thank us for our patience. The customer service was outstanding and, along with the delicious food and beautiful atmosphere, really set this restaurant apart for me. I'll definitely be returning!

Stopped here on our way home from Pittsburgh because my wife wanted to eat outside because it was so nice out. Courtyard seating area was very nice. Service was outstanding. However, the food just didn't match. Garlic Nuggets as they call them were good... Not great. Veal Parm just ok..... Nice presentation though. My wife loved her Pasta dish and my son's Chicken Parm was good too..... Not great though. Carrot Cake was very boring. Overall, I'd go back because of the great service and outdoor seating area.

I come here too often to think that this is anything less that 4 stars. As close to authentic Italian that you can get here in Allentown.

Excellent service and excellent food. Would recommend the pasta al forno. Will definitely go back....left my biggest tip ever there as the food prices were less then thought they would be at the end of the night.

I live in Los Angeles where you can throw a rock and hit a hip Italian joint, grew up in New York, and have a %100 Italian grandmother whom I call Nonnie. This place is my favorite Italian restaurant. Only problem is, it's so far away from me!!! I only get to indulged in their incredibly delicious gnocchi, veal, and garlic bread balls about once a year when I visit my boyfriend's family. What a shame.

I love eating here! The atmosphere is great and the complimentary garlic bread bites are amazing. Reasonable prices, a great quality food!

I can't believe that I haven't written a review sooner. We have been coming here for years and we consider it one of best Italian restaurants in the area. Everything that we have had here was delicious! Service is always great and the cocktails are also excellent! They have an outdoor area which is done so nice, you forget you are in the middle of the city!

Best Italian food in Allentown. If you like perfectly cooked pasta, fresh ingredients, reasonable prices and good wine filled to the brim look no further.

I have been going here for years. It's my favorite restaurant. I have never had anything bad. The gorgonzola steak is to die for. Highly recommended!!!

All I can say is, garlic bread. Little delicious nuggets of bread covered in oil and garlic. They were to die for. But in all honesty, I loved everything. I went early on a Saturday night, and it got crowded quickly. It is a very tiny restaurant, but it is very cozy. Our waiter was very attentive, and the staff seem to share responsibilities, which helps things run smoothly. My fiance had the veal special, which he loved. I had the steak Gorgonzola topped with crab meat. It was cooked exactly how I wanted it. It was packed with flavor. We also ordered the shrimp stuffed with crab meat for our appetizer. The crab stuffing was delicious, but the shrimp could have been seasoned a bit better. That is really my only complaint. The food came out quickly, and we couldn't get enough! I was very pleased with Bellissimo ristorante!

My favorite go to Italian in Allentown! I love the pasta dishes here, so after about 15-20 visits, I still never tried the pizza. The have a great waiter that seems to be there every time I go. I have brought some sizeable groups and they were always accommodating. The owner seems to be around often, and made a very kind gesture to some family friends. Great Italian - American food, full bar, nice outside seating and good prices.

Went here on a crowded Friday night, December 5, 2014, but got seated quickly and then waited and waited some more. After about 10 minutes, the waiter appeared and took our drink order and then never came back. A good 15 minutes went by while I watched our waiter get drinks for a table that had been seated after us. The table next to us who was seated after us got their salads. Finally, the waiter for this table came over and took our order. We promptly got garlic knots which were good and our salads. Both entrees were mediocre and the meatballs tasted stale. Our original waiter never brought our drinks or came by our table. The second waiter was competent. Don't bother with this place, there are better Italian restaurants with better food and service in the Lehigh Valley.

Soup special "Creme of Mushroom" was excellent. Homemade vinegarette dressing also excellent. Italian staples sampled were veal parmigiana, various pasta with pomodora sauce, marinara sauce all above average and recommended. Great friendly service for lunch, hope to able to try dinner here soon. This is my first personally tried Allentown restaurant worthy of repeat trip. Excellent service and food overall excellent other than over-the-top oily small rolls you would expect at Italian chain.

My mother has lived 84 years - has lived in many cities across United States. She exclaimed after her first bit of the chicken Marsala that it was the best Marsala that she has had in her entire life - so tasty, tender, and, delicious. She has never had it so good! Maybe she was really hungry but I order it too and I would say the same and I don't even like chicken. Check this place out if you are in Allentown PA. You will not be disappointed! Lots of great store fronts for photos too! Make sure you ask for April! She is sweet and was born and rises in Allentown. PS - don't forget to order the Lemon Ripieno - just as good as lemon ice for my childhood at the shore in New Jersey. You will delight your taste buds!

I temporarily relocated to Allentown back in Feb, 2013 and have sampled many of the area's best (and at times worst) restaurants. Bellissimo is a gem and I have enjoyed my many meals both dine-in and take-out, most often the latter. The osso buco, linguine with white clam sauce, and various steaks are excellent as is the oyster appetizer and even the garlic knots. I wish I could take it back to the West Coast with me!

This place has a nice cafe' type feel and flair. I found the food both inviting and priced right. There is a nice selection of wine and the atmosphere isn't bad either. The porch outside looks nice, although I was there in the winter so I can't say too much about it. A nice little slice of Italian culture in the middle of Allentown!

Nice atmosphere, bad food, horrible service. It was so pleasant to sit outside in the courtyard on a nice summer evening. The waitress was very friendly when she took our order and our expectations were high. Wine and beer were promptly brought. This is where the idyllic setting ended. We ordered two salads but only one appeared. No cutlery. After numerous reminders, about 10 minutes later, forks and knives made it to the table. Still no salad. Another 10 minutes. Finally the salad came with the garlic knots that were stale. Main meal: pizza for two and veal francese. Pizza was dripping with oil (literally) and had the wrong toppings. Veal was soggy and disgusting. Actually, my son got sick later on when we got home. Overall, very disappointing since the seating outside is very nice.

We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed the service and especially the outdoor seating. However, when we visited in May, 2014, we found the service and the food to be well below our previous visits. Please folks, you were such a great place - don't drop the ball now!

I've been to Bellissimo's several times and the food is always good! This is a small Italian restaurant with an nice outdoor cafe type seating area. Servers are attentive. I had the baked ziti with meatballs which was a huge portion. I actually got 3 meals out of one serving. Pasta was cooked properly, sauce and meatballs were very good, nice and cheesy! Reasonably priced. I was a bit disappointed in that the sheet with specials had food stains on it and was a bit crumpled up. A simple issue that's easily rectified - customers should not have to work around someone else's old food. Also, the bathroom door was warped and I could not close it. These are the type of details that keep people from coming back. But the food was good.

Great Italian food including my favorite spaghetti with meat sauce that has a special taste I really like, not too much, just right. They serve little hot garlic bread balls in olive oil that will make you forget you ordered anything else. Great service and friendly. My favorite restaurant in Allentown.

Went here on August 24. The salads were full of brown lettuce. The red sauce tasted like a can of unseasoned tomato purée. Very very bland. The stuffed mushrooms were terrible. The stuffing was all filler and very very little crab meat. We also had the veal sciciliano. Same deal with the stuffing in here. Awful. The veal was so dry. I literally ate one bite and called it a loss. The pasta was dried out and crunchy in places. Never had crunchy angel hair pasta before. Not good. To top it all off, it appeared that, while I was waiting, the hostess just left. A server got my to go order together. I felt like I was on an episode of "Restaurant Stakeout". It was a Saturday night and the place was empty. I now know why it was so empty. I will never go back. Fifty dollars wasted. I want a refund.

The only thing better than the food here was the excellent service!!! I had the lobster ravioli which was fresh and homemade. There is NOTHING like homemade pasta! Rather than just a sauce on top, it was more a stew with jumbo shrimp, scallops, chunky tomatoes and garlic, perfectly seasoned. My husband had stuffed flounder which was equally delicious, and plentiful, with fresh crabmeat and fresh spinach. I purposely took some of my meal home with me so I could leave room for dessert! We fell in love with the dessert tray when we saw a nearby table order their dessert. We ended up ordering the same item as they did, a decadent chocolate mousse cake. Our waiter made us feel most welcome and cared for! While one might see the prices as a tiny bit high, it is well worth every penny for the abundance of food you get and its deliciousness. We cannot wait to go back again!!

Went there last year in July trying to find a good Italian restaurant this wasn't it the sauce was bland my wife's food was very salty she ate very little the place was empty but the waiter kept disappearing not even the bread was good they had a problem with the soda machine or the line was dirty which they did not know it tasted awful the water tasted funny too so,we ordered bottled water if you see this place just drive on by..

  • Andrew T.

Got a coupon deal and I'm a big Italian food fan so my wife and I went to check this place out. The ambiance of the place was nice, the outdoor porch looked very nice (although it was winter, so couldn't actually go out and see), the waiter was very pleasant and attentive, however the food was lacking. The garlic bread the brought out was decent, however very salty. Both my meal and my wife's were so-so, again very salty. We each ate less than half and chose not to take the remainder home with us. We both agreed that we will not be returning.

  • Hank W.

We had a fresh mozzarella and the garlic marinara pizzas. The fresh mozzarella was on par with some of best pizza I have ever tasted. The garlic marinara came up a bit short, I found it too salty and over done with garlic, and I love garlic. Our server, Caesar, remembered us from last visit. He and the other staff are great. Give this place a try, I don't think one would be disappointed regardless of what you order. Final note, the wood burning oven was off, I did not ask if this would be back on line in the future. I am hoping so, as the pizza would be even better.

I live close by, and dined here on several occasions. It has a nice ambiance about it, and the wait staff is quite friendly. The food has always been very well done, and the desserts are so good! I read some of the other reviews, and I don't understand the bad food they received.. I've eaten here about 6 times with never a bad plate. What baffles me is how the place isn't more packed, as the food is so good.

  • Lucia N.

I have nothing bad to say about this place, I LOVE it!! This is date night right here. They have really nice outdoor seating so if its nice out you should ask to be seated outside. I always order a Mojito, Fried Calamari (with hot marinara sauce) and the baked clams as an appetizer. I usually switch up my entree every time i go. Last time i had Pasta Primavera with grilled chicken and of course it was amazing! The portions are HUGE so u will have leftovers for 2 days after. Just Go!!

  • Jennifer P.

The restaurant was small and intimate. It was a nice dine-in experience. We had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. Mmmm - they were tasty. There's been a few times I've had bad mozzarella sticks, this wasn't one of them. I could have eaten two more orders of them. I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo w/ Chicken and the boyfriend had the linguini w/ Clam Sauce w/ a side of meatballs. I wasn't impressed w/ my meal. I felt the alfredo sauce was too runny/watery, I prefer a thicker consistency which would have been more flavorful. The chicken was alright. It reminded me of the cut of chicken that's used in Chinese - chicken and broccoli - a thin patty. I just didnt' like it. I dont' think it was bad, i just wont be ordering that again when i go back. I do plan on going back. The boyfriend enjoyed his dish. The huge meatballs were plentiful. The marinara sauce was perfect. The past was a large portion, he wasnt even able to finish it. there were just two servers and one host. It was about an hour before we got our food. So just plan on slow service but with the right person, you will enjoy every minute there.

Very good food, and friendly service. They really were charismatic and were glad we were there, very nice food presentation and great knowledge of the cuisine. If I visit Allentown again, I will definitely look them up again! Parking and not much waiting area is the only problematic thing I can point out. But very impressed with them!

My review would be a 4.5 if possible, with it leaning more toward the 5. Have been here three times now and have yet to be disappointed. Great portions and flavor. Gnocchi is good, as are the meatballs. Service is very friendly and accommodating. They also have nice desserts. Give it a try.

We have eaten here many times and I can't say we've ever had a bad experience. Food, service and atmosphere is always great. Love the garlic knots!

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
