Its been a long time since I went to Wok Inn. Was on a trip and had to run to Frys for a quick I.T. stuff pick up and decided to stop by for late lunch. As usual, the food was fresh and they added a few more ingredients to the fresh buffet table from what I remembered. After picking out the ingredients (gotta get them baby corns. YUM!) and some noodle, I took it over to the counter and said "spicy please". WOW, it was delicious! Fresh ingredients, and fresh wok stir fry? With steam coming off of the food and with spice. Wow. my mouth is watering just writing this. I never regret going to Wok Inn. Note to self: Go to Wok Inn EVERYTIME I go to Fry's. Done deal!

Dirty, gross food and rude service. I wish I never consumed the food here. This place makes Mongolian Grill seem delicious. I heard that it used to be a good place to eat a few years ago...not anymore. While you're dishing up your bowl they stand over your shoulder and stare at you, no joke! Bad veggie selection and no sauces to choose from. Yuk!

I love this place so much! Here is the awesome thing: It is like a buffet. You pile all this great food on your plate, then you give to the guy in the back! (The chef) So you can have it cooked anyway you want. They cook very quickly. The only problem I had with this place was the price. I don't know if it has changed but I thought kids were very pricey. Because I don't eat as much. Plus if you have a group of people, they give you a round table with a lazy susan. Really helpful. So overall: Food: 5 Stars Presentation 4 Stars (There is no garnish) Service: 4 Stars Waiting Time: 5 Stars Atmosphere: 4 Stars (It's really dark in there at night!) Overall: 4 1/2 Stars! Must try! Make sure you are hungrey before going in. You could save some money!

We call this place the Wok Inn, Waddle Out. You get a ton of food (all you can eat) and it also has prepared chinese food to get too. The workers there are really nice and the service is great.

You pick your own fresh ingredients and the chef cook it right there for you in the open kitchen! It is kinda fun to watch how they cook. :) The chef will cook your food with the house sauce unless you request your food to be cooked differently. The food usually are ready and pipping hot in just a couple minutes. I read the previous comment about 3 shrimps on the mean, and I believe that is lunch time only. The shrimps that come with dinner buffet is unlimited. One last thing, it is better to avoid the fried food on the hot table if you want to eat healthily. :)

We have had the lunch buffet twice. They keep it stocked with plenty of dishes, the food is fresh, plentiful and tastes like most Chinese-American buffets - a bit heavy on the sweet syrupy sauces. Good for a fast, economical, fresh lunch, but not likely a place I would come for dinner. The staff is also very friendly and bring you hot tea upon arrival before dispatching you to the buffet.

Please read the other reviews for greater balance. I decided to try Wok Inn yesterday. I came for lunch and thought about it all day and night and decided that I didn't have an opinion formed, so I tried it again today. There was a bounty of fresh vegetables: carrots, cabbage, onions, celery, broccoli, zuchinni, Chinese cabbage, bamboo, water chestnuts and more. The meats were fresh: pork, beef, and chicken. Appetizers were sweet and sour pork, rices, yakisoba noodles, a beef dish. For the dinner menu, they added General Tsao chicken, crab wontons, spring rolls, egg rolls, shrimp and more. You take your bowl up to the chef and he fries it up, just as the others explained. It's their house sauce which I didn't especially care for, so the following day, I added more spiciness . It was okay but I really wanted something sweeter with a little more tastiness, but I didn't get it. It IS very hot right out of the wok. My friend burned her arm and got a blister when a splatter of grease fell on her. My roof of my mouth is burned right now, but that was because I was so hungry that i couldn't wait. I wish that I knew what to tell them to get my stir-fry sauce to my liking. I want it sweeter. Maybe Mandarin Orange? I really liked their General Tsao...so, whatever they use for that would be good. I arrived on a Saturday at 3:20 which put me on the verge of dinner hour, but I didn't know that since I'm new there. I did put a wonton and spring roll on my plate from the dinner menu and was told about it. They were nice, though, but really, I did not know the protocol or about a difference in menus. I told them to just charge me for dinner, as it was worth it, I felt. I'll probably go back one more time to see if I can tame the "sauce beast" and get a better taste out of it. They're willing to do what is asked....I just don't know what to ask for. I was pleased to find the place. It was well staffed with nice people who approached every table. It's another culture, so the girl who was complaining about them telling her she could only have 3 shrimp on her plate should understand that most of us here in America are very wasteful. Having a smaller number and then going back is certainly reasonable. Give this place a try if you love stir fry. Going in there with knowing what you want done is even better.

I have been here multiple times...kept giving it another try but finally gave up all hope. 1) They are overpriced due to the fact that MOST people can't go through more than once. 2) The atmosphere is not anything special and almost dingy at times...including all the times my arms have stuck to the damn tables. 3) The service is very cold and slow...feels like a hospital. 4) It is a bit of a bummer that you can't even adjust the flavors of your sauce. They put their house sauce on there and you'd better like it or you're out of luck. 5) Their fried food buffet is also worthless. Nothing tasted even decent. 6) Lastly...WHO THE HECK TELLS YOU YOU CAN ONLY HAVE 3 SHRIMP ON YOUR MEAL AT AN ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET??? SERIOUSLY??? It was the only MEAT on the damn thing. So yeah...its okay. But I've had better....(thats what she said)

Mom and Pop...in a suburban mall...no atmosphere. But WAY above average ""choose your own ingredients and they wok It for you" place. Very fresh veggies and great assortment. Good value.

I've been coming here off and on (mostly off) for about 10 years. It is a "Mongolian" type of grill, where you pick your meats and veggies and they cook it on a grill in front of you. I came in today for the first time in a year or two. They didn't have a whole lot of veggies to pick with the meats. No oils to make your own combo of flavors, just the ingredients. You hand your raw ingredients to the cook. I got back a big wet plate of piping hot food with some sort of brown sauce drowning everything. It was so damn hot I had to wait 10 minutes before I could put my mouth to it. The sauce rendered everything else flavorless, there was too much of it. Other items are the standards like soup, shrimp (no way), and pork "fried" rice. The rice was some sort of instant rice with pork pieces added. That's it. No egg or peas or onion. It was actually decent and I had two bowls of it but it definitely was not fried rice. The egg flower soup was not very good, I think it may have been packaged. They have added a video poker closet/smoking chamber and there is a pitiful little bar behind the register counter that just looks like an alcoholic's secret stash. Maybe seven or eight bottles of booze on a small three foot long shelf. There was no floor. It had been removed and it was now just concrete, like your garage but with some sort of glazing over it. The place did seem clean however, which is a plus. I ate during peak rush hour and there was one other solo person eating. I did not test the restrooms. The service was fast, but I think that is because the employees weren't busy. Years ago this place was different. It had a nice layout, superb service. Lots of ingredients and oils (A MUST!). You used to get rice paper with your food (very rare nowadays), and real fried rice. Now it looks like someone ripped everything out, had big ambitions and stopped. It cost me 15 bucks(with 15% tip) to eat here with water to drink. Will I go again? Probably one more time just to make sure it has really gone this far downhill. 2 stars instead of one because I know they can do better, much better. So listen up Wok Inn, I'm coming back. If it's like this last time, I'm knocking a star off. Stay tuned.

Average service in an average building. Like your typical Mongolian Grill you select a bowl full of raw meats and a vegetables then present it to be cooked. The Wok Inn ruins your meal by dumping your food into a colander and then boils it for several minutes before frying it on the flat top. They then add their sauce which is similar to beef gravy and serve it on your plate. Side dishes in the buffet are ok but sauce ruins this place.

I've only been here once but was very happy with my experience. Similar to other "Mongolian grill" type restaurants. The staff were all very friendly, and the food was good and of course quick. Prices were about what you'd expect to pay. I'll be coming back.

I've been coming to this place for years!! My parents took me here as a child and I've been introducing this place to all my friends. As long as the quality of food doesn't change, I'll continue to support this place. It's a buffet style restaurant where you choose your meats & veggies and they stir fry it for you. The best part is, you don't have to try and figure out what kinds of oils and sauces would taste best on your stir fry! Just tell them how you like your food (extra garlic, ginger, spicy, etc.) and they add the additional ingredients to their house sauce. You also get a variety of side dishes to compliment your entree such as fried rice, s.s chicken, chow mein, etc. Did I mention soup? That's also included. The service is also pretty outstanding. If you're looking for variety, this is definitely the place to check out!!

When we were moving here, we took a break in unpacking and found this place. It's a casual place to grab a bite. I wish their dessert options were a bit bigger. I'll be back for sure!

This was the worst food I've ever eaten-seriously. The place is dirty and way overpriced. They wouldn't take the Entertainment coupon. Smells bad inside. Small selection. Just terrible.

So incredible!! It's like Chang's Mongolian x 10 so good! I like that they have a wok setup but also some traditional Chinese food. The staff is very warm and treat you first class. Hot and sour soup is great! And for Paleo healthy people there are a lot of ways to make this a healthy meal. Love it! Try this place out

Went out to dinner with my family and three of us paid separatly. When we looked at our receipt it appeared that they had charged us for an extra person. When we questioned why it was so much they said that they added a 15% tip. I told her that they cant just add a tip like that for 3 ppl and then she said that if we sit at a round table it costs more. I asked her where was the sign was that stated that and she couldnt show me one. I then asked for the manager and she came over and said that if you dont give them a tip, that they add one on automatically. I said that they cant do that and she said we could decide if we wanted them to add it automatically or we could decide ourselves- next time we came! We didnt ever have the option of leaving a tip until after they charged us for one!! Both times i got different answers as to why we were being charged that much. Ridiculous and not only will we never go back there but they are going to be reported to the BBB.

We went for dinner on a Thursday night. There were very few people there, but the staff was really nice and helpful. This works like a Mongolian Grill, but they have super fresh vegetables. They have fish, shrimp, pork, chicken and beef hwich one can choose to include in their dish. They also have eggrolls, fried crab rangoon, and endless sweet and sour sauce. Their fried rice is pretty good too. Dinner was very tasty, and if you're looking for a Vegetarian option-- this is it! We really enjoyed our dinner here!

I've been to this place before, but it was a few years ago. I liked it a lot better or my memory is a lot worse - either way, tonight was a disappointment. Three of us went in = at about 6 - the place was pretty empty. We were promptly greeted and selected our food for the BBQ. This Mongolian BBQ is different from all of the others in that you have no choice about the seasonings that they add to your food - the other ones I've been to have quite an array of choices and you can make yours more or less spicy as well as add other flavors. We handed our selection over to the cook and within a few minutes it was ready. All three of us felt the chicken wasn't completely cooked. It wasn't quite bleeding but it just didn't taste right. We should have taken a que from one of the other patrons who sent his back to be microwaved for 2 minutes.... The food on the buffet line wasn't any better - it was stale from being out too long. (Probably related to how few people were there). The service was nice but the place had only a couple of other diners - I'll leave the space I took here to others in the future and find a place that cooks the food completely. I'd suggest you keep looking for good Mongolian BBQ.

I should have known better. I've seen ads for this place in my little mailer things. I love me a good buffet. They advertise as a chinese buffet, and that's what I expected. However when I got in it looked more like a mongolian grill. They have your standard mongolian ingredients, and I was please to see meat that may have actually been seasoned (I really hope it was, if it wasn't...yikes.). This sounded promising. So I loaded up a giant bowl in my normal Mongolian fashion. But there was no sauce. I handed it over for them to cook at their whims. When the plate returned it was a pile of brown, flavorless, gooey mess. The meat was way undercooked, there were no textures of the meat that led me to believe it was cooked. The server was very nice about sending it back to be recooked. However when it returned it was still undercook and was an even hotter, gooier mess. Worst plate of food I think I have ever been presented with in my life. Normally I would send it back and demand my money back, but I did get this myself. Then there was a proper chinese buffet. It was actually pretty good, which was why I gave this place 2 stars instead of negative 12. I liked the chicken wings. The orange chicken was actually quite good as was the fried rice. The spring rolls were NOT filled with rancid cabbage like most places do, and they were crispy. If I ever had to come back here again because I was kidnapped and forced to eat against my will, I would probably just stick with the fried stuff. The hot and sour soup was absolutely terrible. It was neither hot nor sour. Kind of seemed like they took some canned hot and sour and diluted it with dishwater or something. The little mailer ads say that lunch is $8.45 but I got charged $12.50. I think I got charged a wastage fee, because I didn't have the guts to say that the food was terrible. I did this to myself though.

I went here for the all you can eat lunch buffet. The selection is very limited. The restaurant is small. I did not care for the sauce they drench your food in (Mongolian grill style). I wish they didn't add any sauce at all. The fried foods were too greasy. Won't go back.

Went for lunch with the family. This is a great restaurant with good food. While there isn't much food options, what they have is really good. The service was prompt and courteous. Food is great for vegetarians and meat lovers. This restaurant is a little on the spendy side, but the food makes up for it. For a family of five, it was about $70.

The food here is possibly the worst Chinese food iv'e had in possibly a decade. Very Very Oily. Don't expect Chang's its not even close. all we did was waste 36$ and i'm trying not to hurl currently. Like Huey Lewis Said All you can eat for a dollar ninety nine Our soul stew is the baddest in the land But one dollar's worth was all that I could stand......... enough said.

Wok Inn is a very typical "all you can eat" type of Chinese restaurant. Very cheap, low quality food, but plenty of it.

An extensive buffet of raw meats and vegetables. The great thing about this place is they handle the sauces for you, all I ever get at typical Mongolian Grill places is terrible food because I have no idea how to manage the sauces. You get your food fast and hot and they have all sorts of hot foods on their bar too like mar-far chicken, rice, noodles, etc. DANGER: You will over eat, the food here is tooooo good. Go do a few laps around Fry's to burn it off.

  • Bill B.

I've been here many times & it has the freshest food of all the local Mongolian places, plus it has an additional small buffet with items like short ribs, yakisoba noodles, etc. that most of the others don't have. The main complaint I see in other reviews is that it comes with only the house sauce. These people are used to Chang's where you make your own sauce, however here you just have to ask if you want the sauce different - hot, extra garlic, very little cornstarch (this is my favorite request because then it's more like juice on it and less like a gravy, give this one a try).

Wok Inn has combined the elements of a Mongolian grill with a traditional Chinese American restaurant. The concept is basically sound but this restaurant does have it's problems. For one thing the interior is totally stark and bland. You just don't get that warm and cozy feeling at Wok Inn. However, the staff is quite warm and friendly. They are very adept at explaining how their system works. Wok Inn's system works like this: you go to a buffet table loaded with various meats and vegetables. You load up a bowl of buffet items and then take your food to a wok. A wok chef then creates a stir fry masterpiece. However, unlike a Mongolian grill there are various items on the buffet table like fried shrimp, sweet and sour spareribs, fried rice, etc. The end result is that you don't just end up with a plate of stir fried food. You also get some Chinese American goodies to accompany your meal. Lucky for me I like the house stir fry sauce. However, more than one reviewer here did not. Having a lack of choices for sauces is a bad mistake. People have distinct tastes when it comes to food flavorings. Wok Inn has potential. They need to listen to their customers and do a better job of catering to their needs.

We had just arrived in town after a long drive and were hungry after checking in to our hotel. Drove 'round and 'round then took the plunge to eat at Wok Inn. Small, nondescript decor, but the garlic chicken was divine and the service outstanding. We had a lot of leftovers and after telling our server that we were staying in a hotel, she added plates and extra forks, napkins and chopsticks so we could reheat our food in the microwave oven in our room. Everyone made us feel that our choice to dine there was an excellent one.

Avoid. Service was rude. We had to flag someone down for water refills and the pop of one of our party of 4. Stir-fry has one generic sauce option and it is very bland. Soy sauce is on the table, but that is the only condiment available table side. Hot food on the buffet was old, pans near empty, rice stuck to sides of the serving pans, no labels to tell you what the hot dishes were. We were in at dinner time 5:30 pm, place was near empty and we got the feeling we were not wanted. I will not go back, ever.

Here's another sub-par chinese place - why can't I find any GOOD Chinese restaurants around here? I knew I wouldn't be getting haute cuisine here, and I was right. It started out okay, with a buffet bar full of veggies and meats. It all looked very good and clean and fresh. After the cooks were done with it, what I got was a gloppy wet mess on a plate. Yeah, I picked the ingredients, but there was waaaaay too much sauce. That ruined the whole thing right there. It was a basic brown sauce, no spice or much flavor at all. Very disappointing because now my bright fresh veggies were drowning and I couldn't save them. Lunch buffet price was $8.45. That's a lot, considering one plate is more than one person can (should!) eat. The Yelp Duke of Wok Inn had 39 check-ins...that guy must *really* like heavily sauced foods, yowza. There has to be better Chinese food in these here parts, right?

I've been coming here for about twenty years. Although, it seems like only yesterday. I first got introduced to this place when I was having business meetings down in the Wilsonville area. It is a quaint little place in a strip mall. It has many booths inside. As you come in the staff seats you and if you are new to the restaurant they will explain how it works. You then are free to go up to the salad bar like set up and pick up items that you want stir fried and place them in a bowl. You then take them to the chef, who you can watch as he stir fries it up to perfection. You can go back as many times as you like. I've never made more than one trip because usually one trip is plenty. They have a few dessert type items like frozen yogurt and jello, however, I've never had enough room to eat any of those things so you'll have to give it a try and let me know. I'll continue to come back.

Love, love, love this place. Had them for lunch today and Dinner last night. I get the buffet a lot because its just so fresh and good. I have been getting the Kung pow chicken the last couple times because I like the leftovers. The owner is really sweet and remembers us when we go in. She always gets our drinks ready and know what kind without needing to ask. Were pretty routine so many good places we go do this kind of thing. We even were able to come here on our Diet last year. We got the dish steamed and it helped the calorie intake a lot!

Amazing service. here I was a tired mother with a few kids. Jessica immediately set us down, look care of us, and even spent the time to make my kids feel comfortable while i went and got my food. They even special made my daughters who does not like her food with spice. they steamed it plain for us. We are accustomed to larger places but i felt for a Mongolian BBQ it was just small town perfect. My kids agreed we have to come back and my daughter already misses our waitress, we will be back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
