Recently moving to Tualatin, thought I'd try a local Italian restaurant near my home, but not before looking at the reviews first for Fiorano. I must say, I was skeptical, but quickly reminded myself that I've been pleasantly surprised many times!! The wine by the glass is totally reasonably priced; the bread, which another reviewer referred to as "table bread", is actually dipped in olive oil, grilled, then covered with Parm & parsley. Totally worth $4.00 (not to mention is served with a spicy infused oil as one of the bread dipping choices). To carry on the spicy theme (which I LOVE), I had the Penne Arrabbiata, which is angry pasta... Hot. My whole meal, including the great server I had, who I thought was just a sweet gentleman -was all amazing! I get that local-small businesses can be understaffed, but that's part of the charm.. They need to be lean to stay in business and I feel with being a local, we should support them and understand that when we can make the timing work, we should appreciate the challenges that some of the smaller businesses have.... Or, hit up an Olive Garden and sit in the waiting area for 30 minutes to get a table - plus, they're predictable and you'll always get what you're expecting. My bill for just me was $27.00. I would have paid more. Will totally go back!

I've been driving by the sign of this place for years and finally decided to stop in and try it. First off, it is hard to find. The sign is off of Boone's Ferry and makes you think that the restaurant is in the business/retail park right there. No, you have to park your car and walk in toward the lake to see it and around part of the lake to get to it. There was only one other person having lunch at the time, which made the atmosphere very quiet and awkward. It was like I was having a quiet lunch with this one other lady that I didn't know. There was also some sort of piano music playing - the type you'd expect to hear while having dinner at a really fancy restaurant, adding to the weird/awkward atmosphere. I asked the waiter for a recommendation for lunch and he recommended some sort of spaghetti with a curry sauce. Again, weird. I passed on that and instead ordered the italian sausage panini with peppers and onions. It was pretty good. The bread tasted fresh and the sausage was good. So, $8 for a panini seemed like a reasonable price...except that it didn't come with anything. To add a small side salad (I got the caesar) was an additional $3. The caesar was also pretty good. Fresh lettuce and fresh grated parm on top. Service was good - the waiter was attentive and polite. One other note - the decor in the place was straight out of the 80's. Purple and gold paint on the walls, purple napkins, and chairs that were just plain ugly. I usually don't care about the decor, but this was pretty dated. I would expect that with all of the business activity in Tualatin, there would be plenty of demand for another good lunch place, but this doesn't seem to be it. Decent food, but overpriced, hard to find, and a weird/quiet/awkward atmosphere.

Went to this restaurant for a work dinner. Good selection of wine/beer and appetizers. I chose the pasta with curry which seemed like an odd combination but was really flavorful --- take care to order the right amount of heat. There was mild, hot and hottest. I chose hot and it was just on the edge of too much heat for me but was really good! Service was friendly. It was nice sitting outside on a summer evening.

Fallire Fiorano Ristorante I usually don't write such scathing reviews. I like to look for the positive, maybe critique a bit, but I am honest with what I experience. Fiorano's is awful. I suspect they are financially struggling, their menu is way too large to support with the 14 people we saw there on a Friday night, and I suspect they don't really have a "chef". I am disappointed, I love Tualatin and wish all the success to all businesses in my home town. My wife and I popped in to enjoy the live music at the Tualatin Commons which is over the lake from Fioranos. The music was good, the food was not. Bruschetta They broke the 2 Cardinal rules of Bruschetta; crisp bread and fresh tomatoes. Their version was thick soft bread with tomato sauce. I gave it a try but was disgusted and gave up. The server didn't even ask why there was only 2 of the 6 pieces dabbled with. Cesar salad Was drenched in dressing. There was enough dressing for at least 2, maybe 3 salads. The croutons were out of a bag. I would have thought for $8 there would have been fresh croutons and fresh parmesan, oh, and fresh crisp salad-there was none of these! BTW a side note, they charge $4 for table bread; we didn't order it. I think charging for table bread is rude. Lasagna OML! The Lasagna wasn't on the menu and was offered as 1 of 5 specials. I knew right off the bat that when 5 specials are offered we should have left, and we should have. The Lasagna was a thinly layered assembled to order slab of pasta with thin layers of cheese and embedded with Chef Boyardee minced meat immersed in flavorless tomato sauce. It was a joke. Carrot cake As if we didn't suffer enough, we ordered carrot cake to satisfy our sweet needs and finish the live music across the courtyard. Oh boy........I still can't believe this brick of crap. The cake was fine floured, there wasn't a chunk of cake, carrot, raisin, or any texture whatever. It was smooth like a machine had mixed the batter a million times. The kitchen microwaved the cake then added canned icing. Why would the kitchen heat the brick you ask, probably because it was stale? We split every one of the aforementioned items along with 3 glasses of wine and the bill came to $68. The server handed me the bill then grabbed it back from me and said "oh this isn't the final, the last glass of wine wasn't added". Ohhfff, we won't return. I was going to send this their management to be sure they got our feedback, they don't have an email link anywhere on their website.

This place is excellent! It's a little tough to find but once you do, you will always want their food. The wine, the food, you could spend twice as much for this kind of quality. I would recommend this place to any of my friends or cooworkers. This was a really nice lunch experience!

Went there thinking it would be great for date night. Both my boyfriend and I were starving and wanting some Italian and pond views. We started off ordering a bottle of wine, which was very reasonably priced. We were happy. We ordered a 12 dollar appetizer (shrimp) and decided to split the special. Most of the meals were around 10-15 so we thought the special would be around that price. The appetizer had MAYBE 8 pieces of shrimp (small pieces) and very small 4 slices of bread. Not much flavor for 12 dollars that's for sure. Then we split the special, which was supposed to be "zesty" but had little flavor let alone any "zest". It was terrible. We get our bill. The special was TWENTY THREE DOLLARS. Plus...3 dollars for splitting the meal. 26 dollars for a crappy dish. Which didn't even include a salad. We absolutely will spend (a lot less money) somewhere else next time.

I actually haven't eaten here yet but tried to the other night for the 1st time. Made the long walk from the parking lot over but the restaurant was dark with the candles still lit around 8pm. The place is open till 9 and trying to figure out why they were closed another party came up trying to go in to the place where she was supposed to meet someone. I was excited to try the place so called shortly after figuring no one would pick up but would get some sort of message saying why they were closed. Someone picked up and seemed very aggravated that I was calling to inquire why they weren't open during their business hours that they choose. He basically had the attitude that I was wrong for wanting to try and come eat at their place at that time because he said they were slow and had better things to do then wait around for customers to come in and eat and "weren't going to sit around and wait for people to come thru the door". He told me next time to make reservations and acted like I was stupid for not doing so. To say the least this was not a very good 1st impression and although I was excited before to try a new place, some of the reviews on here and the rude person on the phone gives me 2nd thoughts to even try it again. Bottomline here is I guess this is turning into a reservations only place, at least on some nights, and is hit or miss with their posted hours. I wonder if the owner knows they're stranding people out in the cold in front of their restaurant and losing business because the workers have better things to do then wait for people to come thru the door...

We were the only 2 people in the restaurant on a Sat night. The waiter didn't take a drink order , forgot to put in the appetizer order. He told us the specials we ordered the lasagna. It was average. We got our bill 20.00 for a small piece of lasagna and 6.00 for a side salad. No value for the price. If youe lookinf for excellent food, go to Gilda's. I feel taken advantage of and my date is still hungry. /Lame

First. This is NOT Italian Food, or even Italian /American Food! I am not sure what it is. Hotel food that is Italian flavored & named does not make it such. As an Italian American I found this place offensive to my culture. It would be akin to calling Taco Bell, "Mexican Food". Anybody that thinks this is good home style Italian cooking needs to see me. I have a Gold Mine in Alaska you might be interested in investing in..I am in full support of private independents succeeding, BUT, Please OFFER A PRODUCT WORTH BUYING!! You been warned, waste your time & money here @ your own risk.

Very Disappointing! The food was tasty, but nothing special. It was overpriced for what it was - I got the daily special which was capellini with tomato sauce and shrimp. It was good but I was shocked that it was $24! Also, even though this is an Italian restaurant, bread was not included - it costs $3/basket. The service was slow and the waitress seemed irritated that we were there. As a positive, I can say that the restaurant is cute and it's nice to be overlooking the little pond. I am happy to pay for a good meal, but this restaurant left me disappointed. To be honest, I would've preferred Olive Garden. Cheaper, tastier, and at least it includes breadsticks and salad. I will most definitely NOT be returning.

Hmmmm, how do I write a review of this place? It completely perplexed me. I had actually heard it was good food so I told my BF about it and we decided to go there. First was minestroni soup. Not good. You know how minstroni is supposed to have pasta and beans in it along with the veggies? I found one garbanzo bean and that was it. It was a watery tomato broth with some diced zucchini and some kind of shredded greens cooked into it. Strange... We had a Caesar salad that was VERY heavy on the dressing. But the lettuce was fresh and it had nice chunks of shaved parm on top. Then we got the appetizer of fried raviolis. When I have had fried ravs in other places there is usually some sort of breading on them and they are all yummy and gooey. These were just ravilols that had been dunked in the fryer. It made the dough very hard to chew and not tasty at all. Next we got a plate of calamari which was great. Very flavorful. Crunchy and well seasoned. Finally we shared a pasta dish, which was delish. We got the mushroom pasta- yummy! No entrees because we just watched Food Inc and um... not feeling the huge slabs of nasty chicken unless they are free range and organic. I guess it just seemed like they were very inconsistent and were a little unfamiliar with the restaurant biz. Our server, though very nice, was obviously not experienced. I guess for Tualatin it is a nice little addition to the lakefront scene, but they need to figure a few things out.

My wife & I have been here 2 times in the last 2 weeks, and that is unusual for us, as we like to try new restaurants. Both times we had delicious food (lamb ragu, raviloli, picante) and wonderful attentive service. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is lovely, overlooking the Tualatin Commons lake. We will be back often as they deserve to be successful. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Just went there tonight. -First bad impression is No kids menu. So unlike what there status says for good for kids is totally incorrect. Horrible to make us spend over $14/15 dollars on a meal for a child -Next thing was the high chair we got the strap was broken. -We sat on the patio and the table was completely wobbly. -My husband got there fettucinne alfredo and he added $4 for chicken. For a $15 meal it had no flavor, he had to put some balsamic on it to give it flavor. The portion size wasn't very good. -The appetizer bread we got was pretty good, but I don't see why they don't just bring that out to us as a starter without charging us like most restaurants do. -Waitress when we were pretty much done was gone for almost 10 min without coming back to drop off our check or see if we wanted dessert. Never saw her again anywhere. Had to give our card to another server to pay and get the heck out of there. Definitely don't recommend this place for italian food. Pastini Pastaria at Bridgeport is way better, better priced, better food, better atmosphere!!

Went here for the first time for my husbands birthday. Food was delicious! We had the bruschetta and caesar salad, and i had the special which was butternut squash ravioli... it was AMAZING! The only reason this is not a 5 star review is because for what you pay for, the serving sizes were pretty below average, we wanted MORE!

My son got us a gift certificate for Fiorano Ristorante, having heard good things about it. I didn't read any reviews before going, so I went in with a totally open mind. Side note: I used to work in Tualatin and used to eat at a Thai restaurant that used to be in the same location. When we walked in, we were greeted with a "You aren't Dave are you?" An odd way to be greeted. It turns out that Dave had a reservation and the hostess was saying a table up front, next to the window, with an unobstructed view of the lake. Dave it seems, hadn't shown up, so she had just given his table away. I replied, "No, I'm not Dave, but I also have reservations." Hence, where's my reserved table? Instead, I get a "Hmm, we don't have a reservation for you. We're not always that good with reservations." What!? No strong apology for no reservation, reserved table, etc. Not a great start to the evening. But, the service was good and attentive. Some of the food was outstanding. I had the filet mignon which was excellent. My wife had the lamb ragu, very good. Her only complaint was she wish it had more lamb, as what was there was finely minced --so the flavor was excellent. Also, the sauteed shrimp appetizer was very tasty. Some of the other dishes (caesar salad, bruschetta) had too much vinegar for my liking -- though I could see others really liking them.Finally, we had the tiramisu for desert, which was guide good. They didn't make it onsite, but it was still quite good. The only other negative was the restaurant wasn't very busy the night we were there, so the atmosphere was a little too subdued. It would have been more engaging if more people were there with the electricity of hushed conversations. So, a reserved thumbs up. The food was very good, the service was quite good, but it was a few little things that offset those positives. Given the prices, I expect everything perfect.

This is a delightful restaurant at the north end of the pond or lake in Tualatin's civic center. You can sit outdoors or indoors, and the service is excellent. I had chicken picante, and my wife ordered chicken marsala; both were very nicely prepared and presented. The desserts (I had cheesecake, and my wife had tiramisu) were fresh and delicious. The outdoor tables and several of the indoor tables of the restaurant provide an excellent view of the Tualatin Lake. The service is prompt, attentive, personable and professional. I'm told the restaurant has been open for 2 months, and it deserves to prosper. I am admittedly conservative in my assessment; my wife and friends suggest 5 stars is well deserved, but I consider that rating the ultimate review and I am reluctant to award 5 stars, consequently, several of the places I given 4-star ratings may deserve better, but I recommend this restaurant with enthusiasm, give it 4 stars, and I hope others enjoy it as much as I did.

We have dined here several times and have always enjoyed the food and service so I felt it would be a nice way to show our appreciation to them by writing this review and giving them some attention. Our latest visit was on Friday, January 2nd and the food, as in the past, was very delicious. We started with the rustic bread which is toasted and served with a side of olive oil, balsamic vinegar & chili oil which you add to taste. Very flavorful! We also had an order of the calamari which is fried and then tossed with parsley, lemon zest, garlic & chili flakes. They include a lemon aioli on the side which really brings out the lemon flavor without being overpowering. I ordered 1 one the 4 soup choices available that evening which was a very hearty navy bean with ham and my husband had a very delicious house salad. I enjoyed the soup so much that we bought a quart to bring home to have for lunch the next day. For dinner I always go for the chicken marsala which is something I truly enjoy and was still the case this evening. I ask for penne instead of the linguine since penne is easier to eat in public! and they never mind making the switch. My husband is a fan of their meat lasagna which is one of their regular specials and was equally delicious as everything else we had that evening. We were too full for dessert this time but during our summer visits we've always found room for a nice sorbet to end the meal. They have a nice wine list and a full bar as well. If you are looking for a special treat and really enjoyable Italian cuisine, I suggest you give Chef Shan and his wonderful restaurant a try.

My husband and I scouted out this restaurant tonight after hearing about it a few days ago. It is something close to home and we thought we'd give it a try, but without having our hopes too high. We were very impressed with the service, cleanliness and variety on the menu. We ordered the toasted bread with oil and vinegar and it was surprising how something so simple could be so delicious. We both ordered from the pasta options for dinner: my husband the linguine with garlic, chili and olive oil with meatballs on the side. I ordered the spaghetti pomodoro with meatballs as well and we were both very impressed. We also ordered the house Chianti, which wasn't too bad either. Overall, we had a very enjoyable evening in a restaurant that was well priced for the quality, had a great atmosphere and great service. We will most definitely make this one of our regular Italian dinner choices!
