I've eaten here frequently. Had an issue about a month ago where my normal #11 (turkey, ham, cheese, lettuce, mayo- add sauce, yum!) was messed up. I got meat and cheese on dry bread with one tomato slice. I contacted the company and let them know the issue. A manager called me back, was very nice, and offered me an account credit which I used last night. Jimmy johns is back to normal based on my experience last night. Fresh tasty bread, good meat, fresh toppings, made perfectly. The bread is so good. I wish they offered pickle slices for sandwiches, and that their Italian sauce was more vinegary. If they offered hot ham and cheese or pastrami and cheese, I'd probably eat here more than I should. Definitely worth trying if you are in the mood for a sandwich.

I like Jimmy Johns. But, of you serve unsweetened tea, you should offer sugar or at least have it available!

Delivery driver insisted on being sociable when I clearly did not want to be, did my "math" for me, and left with a condescending stare when I smiled at him after peeking inside my room and surveying it. I don't plan to order from here for at least a month or two despite being a local delivery "junkie" because I don't enjoy being manipulated into more "intimate" feeling social interactions only to be judged harshly. Delivery is supposed to be about convenience, not about winning friends and influencing people, and I didn't appreciate the attitude at all, it was uncalled for. This guy could easily be 40 and he's delivering fast food-- I guess I shouldn't feel so insulted. The food was good but I couldn't enjoy it, because I felt so trashed as a person by this ahole, who needs to come to where I live and judge me, as he undoubtedly does everyone else.

I LOVE the sandwiches! My go- to lunch most days at work #12 on wheat is my favorite! What can I say..... I love the new downtown location as well.... They can deliver just one sandwich.....how awesome is this!?!?! People from both locations are nice....a few weeks ago I was there (gateway loc) with children who decided to be super loud and forgot what they wanted when we got to the register ; but the girl who waited on us was very patient and was really nice to he kids....I recommend it!!! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is they need more selection or at least add jalapeño peppers :) Thank you!!!

This review had to be written! If this shop moved into Southern California, it would take over and the garbage, (Subway, Togo's, etc.) would have to shut their doors. This sandwich I ordered was awesome. It was very reasonably priced and the portions were perfect. 6 hours later and I'm still stuffed. Awesome job Jimmy John's. Kids behind counter were also great. Service was very fast too.

Like their commercials say. It's fast. Just not good, and not even cheap. Why go here when the 5.00 foot long is way better food...

It's sad when you go somewhere that is clean, good food, nice prices, that you have to rate a one because of a snotty brat of a counter girl. Too bad.

I haven't been to this location for a while due to a bad experience but I decided to give them another shot. The good: I got my sandwich very fast. The bad: The sandwich had enough mayonnaise for perhaps 2 or 3 sandwiches. Not only did it make everything taste like mayonnaise but because the bread is hard on the outside, it makes the ingredients slide out of the back and it is an excersise just trying to keep things from sliding out completely. This is no exaggeration. Also, the music is WAY TOO LOUD. And this is coming from someone who has seen Jimi Hendrix in concert. I don't understand why it has to be so loud. Is the music supposed to add to the experience or is it maybe to distract from the poor quality of the sandwich and ingredients? I shared my views with the teenaged boy at the counter and he basically shrugged my concerns off. He stated that the music level is normal. I've been to several locations, including on the East coast and I can tell you this is patently untrue. I was also told that the mayo was the normal amount. He suggested that this is my fault because I should have ordered light mayonnaise. I don't want light mayonnaise, just an appropriate amount like I get at any other sandwich shop. This was almost a 2 star experience, but down to one star for the poor attitude of the counter staff. I can go to another shop that is across the street, pay less, taste ingredients besides mayonnaise, and not deal with a bad attitude or music that is so loud that it is almost uncomfortable to sit inside. Lesson learned. Thank you for the education, Jimmy John's.

Always great food. I am from the Midwest and would frequent the original stores and their counterpart Milios (formerly Big Mikes). Not as good as the Midwest locations, but it could be nostalgia. About the comments of it not being as good as Subway, well I guess some people prefer presliced and packaged meats and veggies, not me. You really have to wonder about quality when you can get a foot long sandwich for 5 bucks. But then again, some people enjoy balogna. Also, don't forget the pickle! If you haven't tried a sandwich on their wheat bread, you are missing out.

I worked close to this jimmy John's and it was the most convenient place to eat because as all the advertisement says they are fast. The sandwiches are also great, I always get the the ultimate porker and if you like ham and bacon this is your sandwich to get. The environment is good and they are always cleaning, so that is a good thing to see. The staff is always friendly, they greet you immediately as you enter the door and say goodbye as you leave. The only complaint I have is if you get the chips and drink, that sky rockets your total to almost $10-$11. When the sub is normally between $6-$7.

This is a good place for quick sandwiches. The staff is always nice and ready to greet you and say goodbye en mass. I was delighted when they opened up stores here since I was a fan back in the Midwest. I don't think they have the best sandwiches of all time or anything, but it's my first choice amongst the chain sandwich places such as Subway or Quiznos. I work outside of their delivery range although my husband claims they show up at his office with his food in under 10 minutes every time he orders.

Always good, always fast, always accurate...wish it was as fast as it once was (6 minutes) but still the fastest delivery around.

Wow! Really people? This is one of the most successful new restaurants in America? You can't offer store bought ingredients found in virtually any American refrigerator and call it "gourmet". I'd be embarrassed to feed people this lackluster quality at my own house let alone ask them to pay $6 a pop for them. It's sandwiches, how on earth do you screw that up? I ordered the #12 BEACH CLUB Fresh baked turkey breast, provolone cheese, avocado spread, sliced cucumber, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and mayo! (It's the real deal, and it ain't even California.) First of all, I live in California, originally from Eugene, just because you put avocado on something doesn't make if Californian! And that prime ingredient was what was surprisingly missing from my "gourmet" sandwich. A small smear about a size of a nickel was at each end of my sandwich and so translucent you could see the turkey directly beneath. Speaking of turkey, three slices of turkey across the length of a sub, Subway doesn't even have the nerve to try that! Those sprouts were missing because after my complaint they told me they were out, so I'm pretty much left with a sandwich that tastes like very boring bread, mayo and lettuce. For $5.95? Gourmet?????? No, no one in their right mind would be satisfied with such lackluster taste, yes that includes people that call ketchup, hot sauce. Absolutely pathetic! As I politely brought these faults to their attention the cashier told me that "if you look between the cheese and the meat, you'll find the avocado spread." So I dig through my sandwich it front of her showing her this disgraced placed before me. And her response was that I could talk to her manager. He offered me another sandwich but by that time both my wife and I had thrown our $5.95 "gourmet" sandwiches in the trash, which was where they belonged in the first place. So out of three sandwiches, two went in the trash and the one my 8 year old son ordered which was bread and ham, was choked down but he said after the fact he didn't like the bread and Subway is WAY better. I guess I would have saved myself the frustration if I had just taken my $17 and threw it in their trash. I thought with a po-dunk hillbilly name like Jimmy Johns and being from Illinois, that they might be able to make a sandwich with just a tad bit of flavor to be able to swallow. What we got was mayonnaise and lettuce sandwiches that make Subway look like a Michelin Star restaurant. I don't think I've ever not been able to NOT eat a sandwich, ever! If your ideal sandwich is a "mayonnaise and lettuce sandwich, hold the flavor" then this is your place, but for those who expect just a little bit of effort, especially when ordering something as simple as a sandwich, then avoid this place at all cost. Subway, Quiznos, Ciao Pizza, Yumm Cafe all have better standards than this establishment. This place is sad and pathetic and I'm still hungry.

I finally decided to give Jimmy John's a try, only to find out they won't deliver to my work. So I guess that means they won't deliver to the campus area? Not a smart move JJ. Many students don't drive and would likely be your greatest customers... Your loss. From the reviews I've read, doesn't sound like I'm missing out on much, guess I'll walk across to Subway...

Oh My! I just had my first Jimmy John's sandwich and am looking forward to my next one. That "Underground" sandwich place with the Five Buck Footlongs better watch out! The bread is great. Soft inside with a slightly chewy crust and good flavor. The meats were ample. The veggies were very fresh. Crisp cucumbers, good lettuce, mild flavorful onions. I ordered on line and was there in less than 10 minutes. My sandwiches were already made and in a bag waiting for me. I was in, paid, and out in less than 60 seconds so I can't really say anything about the service except it was quick and friendly. Don't let the menu scare you. Jimmy John's 8 inch sandwich is larger than those Five Buck Footlongs and are much better. I can't wait to go back!

Love it! We go for lunch on a regular basis. The bread is awesome! Jimmy Johns, greater than Quizno's, greater than Subway, greater than Big Town Zero (err...Hero)

Wow! I'm not a sandwich fan (likely due to not finding a good sandwich shop) but this place has me hooked. Super friendly fast service. All the ingredients are soooo fresh. The bread is absolutely delicious, and had perfect texture, not too hard not too soft. The place was very clean. The staff was super friendly and the service was extremely fast. I couldn't believe how inexpensive the sandwiches were! An 8" sub for only $4.95 or a club for a dollar more. I really enjoyed reading the sayings posted on the walls. This place puts Subway to shame and is better than any other sandwich shop I've eaten at.

This would be a five star recommend but I am immensely disappointed that although they say they deliver, they would not drive beyond a 1 mile radius of their Springfield store. I had planned on buying a dozen subs for my office but they would not consider making an exception to drive to the downtown part of Springfield. Seems kind of like they shot themselves in the foot - sometimes you need to make an exception so that you can make a fairly big sell. I guess all those people behind the counter, standing around, need to stand around all day instead of drive a few minutes. Oh, on the positive side: sandwiches are good, they are fast, staff is friendly. Music is WAY too loud to be comfortable for customers.

Amazing how poor service can make a 1 star review with great food. The #8 Bootlegger club is awesome. The bread is tasty and the food is well worth the $1 or 2 more than you would spend for a Subway sandwich. This paticular JJ's needs new management and a bigger delivery area. Your staff is rude and the 5 blocks around Gateway that you service are a joke.

Hands Down my favorite fast-food sandwich place. This place is super fast. This location in Eugene was the first place that I ever tried Jimmy John's and I was in love. I'm very glad that the franchise moved out to the Northwest!

JJ get's my vote for the sammy industry simply because they are good, clean, fast, and hey they deliver! What's not to like about that? It's a bummer they don't reach all area's because that would be fantastic and I would order more often. I get the #4 turkey lettuce wrap with cucumber. it's heaven to me. They also have other amazing sandwiches on their menu as well. If you have not tried JJ's then you don't know what your missing!

I'm a fan. Great subs, great taste, great bread, great meat, big portions, and fast service. The oil and vinegar, which they call "sauce," really compliments any sub, as does the oregano. Yummy! They always have a large staff on hand to take orders, make subs (down an assembly line), and clean the restaurant. Their cleanliness could be to a fault, however, because when walking in one immediately smells cleaning fluids...not the most appetizing smell in the world, but better than mold, right? My only complaint is that I think there is MSG in ALL of their chips (Jimmy John's makes all of their own chips). According to the label, the plain chips should not have MSG. But I'd swear they do, because I have an MSG-like reaction every time I eat them. So I would avoid the chips, which is too bad, because there are no other side options. This is great food to take out and eat later.

This place is great. If you want a tasty sandwhich, why go anywhere else? They're fast, friendly, and the food is great! #9 on multi-grain with dijon and hot peppers and I'm in heaven. This is a popular lunch stop with work friends. I really like their online ordering system. Super-slick!

Pretty average overall...the sandwich was good. The service was FAST. They only stock their own private label chips which were not very good (most wound up in the garbage). The music was a little loud for there only being a couple of tables with customers at the time. I am not completely against going back, but probably won't.

I've ate here 3 more times since my original review. Down to 3 stars. The first time I went, the bread was soft and perfect. The last 3 times (including my wifes sandwiches) the bread has been really hard. Especially at the ends. When you take a bite, the meat and veggies slide out of the back. If you squeeze the hell outta the back of the bread you can keep it in there...kinda. Solid 3 stars. I like the gargantuan. They just need to make sure the bread is consistently soft and edible. Without that, they're just another chain sandwich spot.

The staff are super friendly - even helped me find this place when Google maps kept taking me off course (it's in the Best Buy plaza - just call if you're a tourist like me and have relied way to long on GPS too find anything on your own). Nice location and good parking. Sadly it was the last JJ's I'll have until I go out of state again - JJ come to Cali!

Look...if you are in the middle of a suburban nightmare anywhere in the USA, and you can't find a deli (and you won't be able to, trust me)...look to Jimmy John's. It's free delivery, fresh veggies and decent (average?) ingredients. Is it great? No. Is it fun? No. Is the service particularly good? No. Is it right next door when you want free delivery at 9pm? Sometimes. And sometimes is the perfect time for Jimmy John's.

  • Nancy J.

We eat out several times a week, at all sorts of places, and I'd say we do JJ's more than anywhere else -- usually to go, sometime eat-in or delivered. Lots of reasons: It's close to home, it's an easy pit stop on the way to anywhere, it's faster than fast, it's cheap, it's clean, it's friendly, and most importantly, the food is at the healthy end of the fast-food spectrum and it's consistently yummy. The Italian meats are really good, we like both the white and wheat breads, and once in a while having lettuce instead of bread is just the ticket for yours truly. Oh, and free smells! : )

I really wanted to like this place. The shop is cool and the people are super nice. The food came out fast and fresh. After all that, My Turkey Avo sandwich was bland and not made very well. No flavor and too much mayo. My husbands Roast Beef was the same, couldn't really taste any flavor. This place has sooooo much promise. I will be back to see if maybe it was just a bad day.

This place makes me hate Subway. Mainly because the bread is soooo good. You can also taste the difference in the fresh quality of the meat and all the condiments. I do agree with previous reviews that if they arent busy it does feel like you should order in a hurry cuz you have several people just staring at you waiting for you to order. Thats the only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review. As far as the product goes...tremendous for the price. The bread!! Its hard to explain...Taste and texture is homeade!!! The meat is awesome and the service is great!! The owner of the franchise actually took my order today and was super chill and informative. He actually moved out here to start the franchise after working directly for "Jimmy John" himslef in Illinois where this place started from. The Choc Chip Cookie is the bomb!! The owner tipped me off on a lil secret that they use Ghiradelli chocolate chips in their cookies. I probably spelled that wrong. But for a buck fifty it was a damn good cookie and really big!!! Try this place!!! Bye bye Subway...Hello JJ!!

1st visit much faster and better quality that subway or quiznos a great value as well. The music is a nutlike though it made it a bit difficult to hear the guy taking our order. There is a lot of friendly staff as well.

Well I was planning on eating at Cafe Yumm next door but I had just eaten there earlier in the week, so I decided what the heck....branch out and try something new. Immediately when you walk in you get greeted out loud by EVERYONE working there. And when I mean everyone...they literally had 10 people in back of the counter making sandwiches?! It was a bit overwhelming especially because I had to figure out the menu board, and all the employees were staring at me as I felt pressured to quickly order since there were so many of them just standing around. The sandwich was good but nothing to write home about. It won't be anything I'll ever crave or go out of my way to get. However I will say it is better than Subway. Maybe neck and neck with a good sandwich at Quiznos. It is a franchise, and this is the first one in Oregon. Very nice and clean. All the employees also say thank you and have a good day out loud when you leave. I like to be greeted and appreciated but come on, at a fast food joint by 10 employees?! Certainly must be their corporate culture. Overall A-Ok but like I said nothing to go out of your way for and I doubt you'll get hooked.

We decided to try out this new addition to the Gateway area, with the sign saying "Gourmet Sandwiches", we thought it would be great. How UNIMPRESSIVE! Cold sandwiches on plain white sub or a 7 grain sliced option, or they will wrap it for you (which means that they wrap it in lettuce). That's it. Then, if you want a cheese other than provolone, forget it. Ask them to add something to a sandwich? They actually told us that they can only take something off the sandwich. Hot sandwiches? No. Soup? No. Brewed Iced Tea? No. Kid's sandwiches? No. But, they deliver. However, only to one side of Harlow Rd. But, if I want to walk a block to the end of my street, they will deliver it there. Nevermind that they will travel two miles west. So, not gourmet, in fact, once you get in side, their sign says that they are not gourmet but "my mom thought it sounded better than tasty." The music is so loud that the cashier could not hear our order. The bread was plain, the toppings were the same that you would get at Subway. They have 5 of their own branded flavors of chips, and 2 flavors of packaged cookies. Subway or Quiznos is a better pick if you want value and flavor. With both of them within the same 1/2 mile radius, I think that they will earn my business while I hope this one goes away quickly so something better can move in.
