    Stopped there for breakfast. Had chicken fried steak and my wife and eggs and pancakes. This chicken fried steak was better than average, but the pancakes were out of this world. I haven't had a pancake that good in 20 years. I would drive 20 miles to have one of those pancakes. They were just incredible.

    This place is locally owned and I really want to give it more stars, but I just can't. Our waitress clearly had better things to do than serve us food and the cook's mind was elsewhere also. So mediocre food and indifferent service. Not a winning combination.

    We go here every time we're in Sisters! Consistently great food and service! In our party, we had the Turkey Focaccia sandwich, burgers, and a pizza. All of it tasted awesome! Their French fries are my favorite!!!

    This is a great restaurant I keep coming back to. I first encountered Takodas up the McKenzie, and both restaurants are amazing. They are consistent with their food quality and service, and deliver great service when super busy. We had our pre wedding dinner here and despite how busy they were, everyone was well taken care of.

    Great meal! Every time I've eaten here the food has been great! I had the chicken Alfredo and it was loaded with broccoli and lots of chicken. The sauce was great. Came with two yummy bread sticks. Generous serving. My boyfriend had a jalapeño burger with fries and really liked it. The fries are really good. Great service! I recommend Takodas highly!

    I have been here more times than I would like (sometimes the group I am with wants to eat here so I tag along and don't complain). However, I do not think I will ever eat here again, the food is inedible. It seems that each time I come here, the food just gets worse! The problem with this restaurant (as with many restaurants) is that they have too many options on their menu, so they are unable to focus on making a few things really good, everything is just so-so. It reminds me of cheap bar food. I've had the pizza several times however the crust is awful! You can tell they use frozen crust and it has absolutely no flavor- the crust is mushy instead of thin and crispy. The crust has a bland favor (it tastes like flour actually) and I think I could pick up a better pizza in the frozen aisle of the grocery store (I'm not trying to be mean or exaggerate). Also, they need to cook their pizzas a little longer- some pizza I've had could have been cooked up to 5 minutes longer as the cheese is not melted all the way. There are so many better places to eat in Sisters, skip Takoda's!

    Despite some set backs we really enjoyed the food here, it's worth the wait. We had a typical post church/Sunday 30 minute wait, but the staff was friendly & helpful. we got a to go order to take home, so the wait was expected. They told us they ran out of hollandaise sauce so we ordered something else. When our order was ready they surprised us with having the sauce, just not much of it. The portion was quite small & they forgot my toast :( With all that said my husband enjoyed his country fried steak & my eggs Benedict was the best I've had in years. Loved the flavor. We will be back next time we are in town.

    Cheap, well-made breakfast and friendly, attentive service were the hallmarks of my gustatory experience here. I consider myself an expert on few matters and a connoisseur of even fewer things. But in the matter of breakfast comma American, I know everything anyone need know on the subject with regard to quality. T-GAB (The Great American Breakfast) is NOT a science. T-GAB is an art, an art with certain rules of craftsmanship which must be followed before creative license can be taken! T-GAB is not "less than" other meals "just because it's breakfast." No! T-GAB IS the end and the means. Adjust your thinking, as I have, and you too will finally understand just how good (and how bad) breakfast can be. The eggs I ordered here were perfectly over medium, not soft. They were fried in butter, not oil. This is absolutely correct. My toast was lightly browned but not too crisp, the bacon, while thick cut is not my preference, maintained a crisp exterior like a well-heeled business professional. But just below the surface was a flexible juiciness that exceeded my minimum requirements for breaksatisfaction. The chicken-fried steak, so often dry, flat, and plain as a board, here had life in it. The flesh had a springy texture just below the breading, and while the pepper had a mild kick, it wasn't overbearing or deployed in quantity to mask some other imperfection of the dish. On the whole, I feel balanced was here achieved. After striking camp on the Metolius river and having had a fretful night's sleep (possibly due to too many beans and chick peas in the camp dinner), one needed additional fuel to both "jog" the alimentary tract as well as stiffen one's conscious attention for the curvy road back to Stumptown. And the form of that amazing, brain nourishing fuel comes hot, black, and in a mug, and let me tell you, sometimes it's so stale and nasty it's worse than the cod liver oil your mother made you eat in order to uncork your bowel. At its best, this beverage is nothing less than teardrops from heaven, as though Jesus himself said, "forget about the wine peeps. I'm going to just turn this water into an amazing cup of coffee if that's okay with you." The coffee here wasn't amazing, but it was no cod liver oil either. It was fresh, not too bitter, and the dose of friendliness it was served with was just as invigorating as the beverage itself. The hashed browns, ah, my one regret! First of all, if your menu draws attention to the authenticity of a dish, you've set a higher bar than the competition, so it had better be done with perfection every time. I mean pitch perfect. I mean Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music good. I mean Galileo good. I mean Shakespeare good. I mean Gandhi good. Gotta be good, you understand? First of all, I don't know what the hell a "hashbrown" is. Ouch! That word hurts my ears! Please, if you have any respect at all for T-GAB (The Great American Breakfast) No, no. If you must profane the potato, speak not of it at all. "Hashbrown" is not in the vocabulary of T-GAB, but the HASHED BROWN most definitely is. I do not apologize for my insistence on semantical correctitude, for if you cannot digest my verbage than you are a breakfast heathen, and I shall discourse with you no longer. The Hashed Brown served here was indeed, crafted from real potatoes. I'll grant that. But like so many other failed efforts to realize the potential of this dish, only a few of the "hashes" were "brown." And while the unbrown portions were certainly edible, and while they'll certainly fill a stomach and dilate your pyloric sphincter (the gateway from the stomach to the duodenum), it still cannot be worthy of the name Hashed BROWN if it's not brown. Just a little butter, a little extra time and attention to detail is all it would take to make this simple but oft hurriedly and ineptly crafted dish a food to savor, to remember, to love, to cry for, to cry with, and to die for--but not to die with, unless I was on my deathbed, and then I wouldn't mind dying with the taste of a perfectly made hashed brown on my lips. If I seem to wag a stern finger here or wax poetically, it's only because it's my favorite dish in the entire pantheon of T-GAB. It's humble, demands little attention, and often receives none, but take it away or botch it and T-GAB merely devolves in to TAB. The potatoes were real yes, but take it from me Takoda, you can still earn the 5th Breakfast Star if you want it bad enough. At this point, I just feel like I want to take off my hat, and place it over my heart, and close my eyes and sing you a song. T-GAB, T-GAB You are good, not bad. Not good, but great You bless all, all who wait T-GAB take me home on a dish of polished chrome T-GAB, my belly friend You grant it's wish to distend T-GAB was lost, but now is found like a bright star without no sound T-GAB's grace is so amazing I wolf it down without no grazing You are my sword, you are my knight You are

    Well, I understand the mixed reviews below. For my fiance and me, we had an easy and wonderful eating experience at this place. We were new to the Sisters, OR town when we were out in Central OR for a little vacation for the week. Someone suggested Takoda's if we would like a quick bite of burgers, sandwiches, and other bar foodies. We really didn't feel like eating the downtown area of Sisters, so we thought we'd settle down for this place, although I was nearly turned off by the reviews on Yelp here. The waitress/hostess seated us down quickly and continued to chat with other people at the next table. We were a bit confused because it took quite a while for the waitress/hostess to come back around for the order. Anyway, there was a waiter, who was quick enough to get our meals started. The burgers came out quickly, and oh man! Everything was perfect and juicy: the meat was, and the sauces were just amazing! Before we headed home to Seattle, WA, my fiance wanted to stop by the restaurant again for a try of the sandwiches on the menu. I was not very hungry, so I decided to order calamari, which was perfectly fried and breaded. Yummy! My fiance ordered a sandwich, and it was simply delectable! We left the restaurant with full stomaches.

    We stopped in for lunch just a little before noon. Most of the tables were empty but at least eight people were waiting for tables. After a few minutes of not even being acknowledged by the wait staff I ask a waiter if they "were taking names or...?" he said that " the kitchen was a little backlogged so they were having people wait at the door." Needless to say we left, as did the couple behind us. We ended up going to Three Creeks Brewery at the other end of town. Much better service!

    The pizza was not good. It was dry with very little flavor. We asked for tomatoes as a topping and they sliced them and placed them on top after the pizza was cooked. Would recommend strongly against if ours was any indication of their pizzas.

    We came in to have breakfast on the road. The biscuits and gravy were so full of grease the gravy looked coagulated my youngest sons hashbrowns were burned while my wife and oldest sons were not cooked through... The waitress thought it was funny that they were out of mugs so I had to wait for someone to leave to get my coffee... This was one the worst experiences I have had in years..

    This is really 2.5 stars but I would rather error on the up-side, in the chance that my meal was just an off day. I ordered the Marionberry Chicken which was interesting, not at all what I had expected, in a weird kind of way. The vegetables were mediocre and kind of greasy. The "Rice Pilaf" was bizarre. It looked like plain, steamed white rice, certainly could be improved. Prior to the chicken, I started with the clam chowder. I have yet to find a chowder that beats Wally's in Des Moines, WA and this was no different. While it had good flavor, big chunks of clams and creamy base, they added tarragon which is just silly. It didn't really help the flavor or the experience. I probably would have really liked it otherwise. The table (four of us) also ordered the wings to start and they were decent, if you like wings you will want them. They are most likely "franks red" or something equivalent. One person at the table ordered a burger, which looked really good but I did not taste. With that burger came fries, which were actually really good!

    Mt girlfriend and I love this place, great pizza and pretty good service. We have eaten here several times and found the garden goodness pizza to be my favorite. We did order once and the order was misplaced so we had to wait a little longer than normal. The server was very apologetic and gave us a free appetizer to tie us over. The only issue I had was I was too full to Finnish my meal. That's ok cause I needed a lunch for the next day!

    My boyfriend and I were on a fruitless mission to find camping supplies on our way to Lake Billy Chinook and randomly decided to eat at Takoda's after visiting the Bi-Mart next door. The place was deserted, which I have to say after tasting the buffalo burger, as a real shame. The burger came with all of the fixings on the side (which I loved, because I'm not an onion fan and I always forget to ask for them on the side). It was dressed with a fabulous spicy house sauce. The fries were crunchy, but not over done. My boyfriend's turkey burger was perfect. We would certainly come back!

    Come to this place probably once or twice a month for the friendly service and the awesome pizza. they make fresh soups that are always delicious and always changing. the lounge has full bar, big outdoor seating area , and very lively cheerful servers. if you are ever passing through sisters, this is a comfortabl place for a good beer and a good .

    Horrible! We were driving to Bend from Portland (after flying all day from Austin, TX) and stopped at the Bi-Mart. I was starving so my husband agreed to stop at Takoda's (in the same parking lot as Bi-Mart) even though he was very concerned because there were very few cars there and it was a Friday night. Well, I should have listened to him. It took forever for us to get our meal and when it did arrive it was awful. My husband's buffalo burger was burned (though he ordered it med rare), my black bean veggie burger was inedible (though I was so hungry I really tried), and my 17 year old son who will eat literally anything that doesn't eat him first, refused to eat more than one slice of his pepperoni pizza (pizza!). My husband even commented that this was the first time he had ever heard me complain out loud about a meal. I recommend that you get a snack in Bi-Mart and drive right on past Takoda's.

    The Pizza is great. My wife and I usually get it to take out, and we drive from Black Butte to pick it up. It's always full of toppings that are fresh and full of flavor, and always ready when we set up a time to pick it up. One of our neighbors introduced us to it and said it was also one of her favorites. We've had breakfast there 4 or 5 times and have also enjoyed that every time.

    This review is for the bar side only.. I have not eaten in the restaurant ..yet...I like Takodas... they have a full bar with your basic bar food... the pizzas were good... and the folks who work there were friendly...The bartender joked with us and made us feel welcome...We have been there when they have a band on the patio... it was lively and fun......

    The service was great. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. My husband and I shared a pizza and shepherd's pie. Everything was very good. If we ever go back to beautiful Sisters, OR we will eat at Takoda's.
