We happened upon this cafe and thought we would give it a try. Wow! The latte beat any Starbucks I have had and my food was amazing! I had the huevos rancheros and it was insanely good! Not only that, our servers were so wonderful. Attentive to my 5 year olds wants for just blue berries and decaf coffee (really just warm milk with a splash for flavor) coloring, and let her even sit by herself. (she is becoming an independent little one) It was also pretty fast service and they were very busy. All the food is fresh including the homemade sausage. This will be a must go to every time we visit. On top of that, the decor is cute, clean, and the fire place was going. Loved it!! Keep them open!

Excellent breakfast. We came in one day just to get coffee to go and realized we would have to come back for breakfast. We came back the next day. The French toast was really great. Nice and chewy on the inside, crisp on the outside. Bacon was perfectly cooked. The biscuits and sausage gravy were great. Coffee was good. Cappuccino was okay. I just wish we'd come here sooner in our trip. Add in a (tiny) view of the ocean (if you sit in the right booth) and a fireplace for chilly mornings, and we loved this place.

Really nice. I ordered the arroz con pollo without cheese, and the chef came out to ask me whether goat cheese was acceptable. I thought was a nice touch. Some interesting selections on the menu, and everything our party got looked good. Very small and happily away from the downtown crowds. So happy to have finally found quality food in Seaside!

Extraordinary food and service. Really loved how happy and helpful the employees were, really made eating breakfast here a good experience. During my visit to Seaside, I've come to the conclusion that the majority of the restaurants here serve mostly junk food. This location really stood out, their food wasn't greasy. everything was very fresh, and my breakfast burrito was delicious. They have a pretty decent amount of vegetarian options as well (not so much vegan). This will be my go to location whenever I visit Seaside.

I drove 2 hours through fog, wind and rain to surprise someone and get out of the dog house. All I'm saying is biscuits. BISCUITS. These will be the best biscuits and gravy you've ever had. Believe me. Please. Do your self a favour - eat the biscuits. Savour the gravy. You will instantly transform any day, any argument and maybe even change your life for the better with the power of these beautiful biscuits.

While I would agree with most reviewers in that the services was abysmally slow - as we were seated outside in glorious Feb weather (I'm not being facetious, we hit record highs!) with a dog, this place was mint. The coffee is gourmet, the food delicious - if they spruced up their service just a little bit, it would have been 5 stars. Definitely a "go-to" when we come back (and we will).

Traveling the Oregon Coast from Southern California. Camped in the rain last night and craved a good breakfast as I drove south from Astoria. I stopped at the Osprey and ordered scramble and sausage. The sausage was home made and delicious as was the rest of the dish. Someone at the table next to me ordered a breakfast burrito and it looked delicious. This is a weekday and it is raining outside so the place wasn't crowded and the service was great. I will be back.

Another outstanding meal at this quaint little place just off of the beach in Seaside, Oregon. The ambiance and service are every bit as good as the food (and the food is AMAZING)!!! We like this place so much, we were hesitant on leaving this review because we want to keep it hush hush lol. But it's too great of place not to share.

Don't miss the arepas or biscuits and gravy. Good coffee as well. Food is great. Unassuming and not flashy outside, awesome grub inside . Stop in and enjoy.

Anyone with kids, family or looking for a quick meal DO NOT eat at this place! My pregnant wife, my sons and myself ordered a sandwich, soup, an omelet, rice and a soup, we waited for about an hour before getting our food. It seems they only have one cook and 2 waitresses, not enough people to handle the traffic. Anyways, very disappointing. Wasted an hour instead spending quality time at the beach.

This place made us an amazing breakfast!! We had the arepas and the omelet of the day which was a delicious beautifully made frittata. They also had great options for our small children, the French toast and pancakes were top notch!! The servers were attentive and the food was out to us very fast. This place is just steps from the beach in a great part of Seaside, away from the hustle and bustle of the promenade. We loved their breakfast and can't wait to go back and try more options the next time we're in town!

We were guided to Osprey Cafe by a foodie we met on our coastal adventure, and what a gem it is for locals and tourists alike. From the time we walked in the door to the first bite, we felt we were someplace special... then we took our first bite and knew for sure! We sampled different parts of the world in one sweet afternoon, Columbian, Peruvian & Indonesian, each intriguing, tasty and presented beautifully. While we tried unusual dishes the Osprey had something for everyone, a varied menu that will delight. The Northern Oregon coast is best known for rugged beauty, not for interesting, daring cuisine, the Osprey Cafe changed that belief for us. When we visit Seaside again, we will definitely return to Osprey Cafe!

We had an amazingly delicious breakfast at the Osprey Cafe. The arepas are to die for! And the wait person was lovely and helpful. Chef Josh visited our table, which made the experience even more special. We will return and tell all our friends to skip Camp 18 and wait until they get to Seaside for an excellent meal.

A bit of a wait but worth it the food was delicious and the people are very kind. Want give a free pastry for the wait. Told them not necessary it's the beach what's the rush

I ordered the Avocado Toast and Blueberry Blue Corn Muffin which was absolutely fantastic. It really hit the spot and not to mention the staff was fast, friendly and full of positive energy. My girlfriend ordered the breakfast burrito and was very satisfied. Probably one of the best places to go in Seaside.

What a great place to eat! The food is exceptional and the service is great. Biscuits (which I am very picky about) are now in my top 5 favorites (they are made to order) The homemade sausage is killer. The place is kind of small but noticed they accommodated two large groups nicely and there is also outdoor seating. I looked around at what other people were eating and EVERYTHING looked delicious. Will be going back TODAY!!!

Today we tried the arepas and nasi goreng for breakfast, both excellent.

Amazing food! The chilaquiles was really delicious and something you can't get everywhere. The biscuits are crunchy outside and soft inside and excellent homemade jelly or fabulous gravy. And they let us know we were here on there busiest day since opening and the service was extremely gracious and kind. A bit of a wait because the place is small BuT worth it. (Gluten Free foods are available though non dedicated kitchen)

Super yummy breakfasts!!! I had the Biscuits and Gravy, with FRESH biscuits (the cook doesn't make them until they're ordered) and they did not disappoint! Big portions too. And the bacon was amazing, not greasy or fatty at all. Our server was nice, he forgot one of the items we ordered and then after he brought it out to us, took it off our bill I will definitely be back!

  • Rachel C.

Omg this place is soooo good! Biscuits and gravy amazing. I had the vege omelet I don't like mushrooms so substituted for fresh tomato...so amazing the home fries best I've tasted. We do know the best time to visit the coast is during the week. Cook is a true Portland Trailblazers fan...go blazers!! I can't wait to visit you guys next time we are in Seaside... Well done!

Biscuits & Gravy and fresh squeezed OJ are to die for. End of story. Drop the mic. I cannot wait to have them again!

Tried the OC for the first time two weeks ago. It was packed but we were lucky enough to get the last booth. I almost always order eggs Benedict if a restaurant offers it so I tried their "version". It was incredible! Completely different than anything I've ever had before. Instead of English muffins they had some homemade crispy on the outside soft and creamy on the inside corn biscuit. The eggs were poached perfectly and instead of Canadian bacon they used thick sliced, lean, regular bacon. And the sauce on top was not the usual packaged knorr mix but freshly prepared, slightly spicy, and delicious. The next weekend we happened to be in seaside again on business and I asked (begged) my husband to take me there again. He happily complied. I had the avocado toast that time. Omg. So simple but so decadent. Thick sliced toast smothered with generous amounts of homemade guacamole more of that awesome bacon and fresh made salsa on the side... Heaven! Thought about going back the same day for lunch but were worried they might think we were stalking them! Also REALLY friendly and attentive staff.

This was the best breakfast! My husband had the Denver Omlette and I had the Huevos Rancheros. Very creative spin on traditional breakfast items. Nevermind boring tortillas the Huevos dish came with what looked like a potato pancake but was a super delicious round made of corn and soft cheese slightly crisp on the outside and soft sweet on the inside. The omlette was fluffy and full of fresh vegetables, ham and cheese and it was obviously made fresh with great skill and care. Attention to detail and quality are clearly hallmarks of this establishment and it shows in the super delicious unique spin they put on their dishes. Can't wait to come back to try other dishes next time we are in town.

Wow! I had the Avocado Toast for breakfast and it was so so good! Use the lime wedge and you won't be sorry. My husband had the chiliquilles and they were great too. You should definitely get breakfast here, or just visit the coffee bar if you're in a hurry.

Had a fantastic experience this morning. We wanted to try a new place and Osprey cafe had good reviews. Small place, had to wait about 25min, but very well worth it. The coffee, to start , was delicious. And that was just the black coffee. They have a full espresso menu. The menu was hard to choose from because everything sounded wonderful . Looking around to see what others ordered, made it even more difficult. Finally decided on an omlet. Was really Delicious. The ingredients were fresh, crisp and cooked just right. We will be visiting this place everytime we go to seaside. A must for breakfast:)

We're visiting from Vancouver, B.C. Canada for our Thanksgiving long weekend. Decided to come here for a morning coffee and breakfast to take down to the beach. Just as we ordered a couple of lattes to go when we were abruptly told that she was not making any espresso drinks to go... OK...whats the difference between pouring it into a mug or a paper cup? I guess our only choice is a drip coffee then. Thanks for the "kind" customer service...but really no thanks. We'll go elsewhere next time we come to the Oregon coast.

Hungarian Mushroom soup today and fried egg sandwich were awesome. Neither one is low cal but definitely worth breaking the diet for flavor:) Please keep making the soup.

The best food I've had so far in Seaside. We couldn't decide on the biscuits and gravy or the corned beef hash, so we got both and split them. Awesome, is all I can say!!!! The corned beef hash came with a soda bread that we decided would be amazing with some fresh clam chowder, so we got extra to go.

Great, friendly little place. Unique items -- my wife had the "Arepas" which are Guatemalen (?) maize and cheese pancakes -- good with something piquant or good with jelly. I had the mac and cheese -- yum! Got a cinnamon roll to go and it was perfect with coffee the next morning -- not too sweet or overpowering. Breakfast and lunch only.

Great location and great service but the menu is limited and very overpriced. They advertise a large variety of baked goods and they only had one kind of cookie and blueberry scones. Disappointing to say the least.

We were staying in a hotel right next to this cafe ( the Inn at Seaside - highly recommended!) unfortunately, this cafe left a lot to be desired. We had to wait about 10 minutes for service in a small restaurant that was less than half full which is pretty ridiculous. Then, after ordering we literally just sat there for 45 MINUTES waiting for our food to come out. We fully watched a table near us that had gotten their food when we sat down leisurely eat, pay, leave, the table was empty for a while and a new person sat, got coffee and ordered before our food arrived. We ordered the chicken arepas which would have been decent had our waitress not let them get cold by walking out with what we thought was our order, walking over to a table across the restaurant, they said it wasn't theirs, then she takes it back to the kitchen and leaves it there for a full 15 minutes before bringing out what look like the same exact plates and dropping them off to us, cold (literally) and unapologetically. Boo. The food would have actually been pretty tasty had it not been for our absolute desperation to leave after the hour of jut sitting there waiting.

We had an excellent lunch. This relatively new cafe is only open for breakfast and lunch. As I write it is starting to serve seven days per week. It has an ambitious menu. And what we had was quite good. My wife enjoyed the mushroom soup and it rated higher than any other currently served in our part of the world. She had a chicken salad sandwich and liked it. Unfortunately the chef is still trying to match the filling to the right bread. She couldn't consume all of the bread on the sandwich. Apparently research continues. I had nasi goreng, an Indonesian dish which the chef labels a breakfast dish though on cruise ships I have only seen it offered at lunch. I am used to the version prepared by Austrian chefs on Crystal Cruises. He may have a more authentic recipe. I am not sure but the sauces he provided made it much more interesting. Since I haven't enjoyed it in Indonesia I don't know what is authentic. Our waiter has served us before at other restaurants. He is experienced and understands the menu. He is also a good salesman. The chef was at a well known cafe in Portland which impressed us. No alcoholic beverages were offered. I would have enjoyed a glass of wine. I understand why. Prices were fair for what is offered. We liked the ambiance of the place but we have patronized other businesses in the same location and there has not been much of a change on that.

A couple of friends and I decided to visit this new restaurant and were very glad we did! The service was excellent, the food delicious and the cappuccino and hot chocolate very good. We had breakfast, and along with your food they give you a side of fresh fruit. It had raspberries, cantaloupe and watermelon cut up in a small bowel on the side of the plate. This was a refreshing addition to the other food on the plate. When I looked at mine I saw the watermelon mixed in with the other fruit and since I am allergic to watermelon I sadly asked the waitress to take it away. Several minutes later she returned with a small plate of banana, raspberries and cantaloupe. I wasn't expecting such a thoughtful gesture since the fruit was just a nice addition. I will definitely be going back!

Wondered down the street from our new place at the beach & found ourselves in this amazing establishment. Walking non the door you are first impressed by the adorable beach decor - I'd say it's decorated perfectly. They offer a great menu with items I wasn't even sure to pronounce but every single item that was ordered was 100% amazing. This place is not just your normal average beach cafe - from the decor to the latte to the food is give it a A+++ I'll be back

What a cute little spot off the beaten path in Seaside! My lady friends and I made our yearly pilgrimage to Gearhart, and we often end up brunching in nearby Seaside. Options are limited. This little place popped on the Yelp-sphere and we were relieved to have found a place with fresh food that was a bit of a walk/drive from Broadway. Pig n' Pancake this is not. The choices are light and fresh, as is the decor. I went for the arepas (yeah, breakfast arepas FTW) and they were very good. My other gals got the french toast, which was also delicious. Each dish came with an adorable little cup of fresh fruit, I just wish it was a larger portion. Service lacked much personality, but they were attentive and prompt. We will definitely be back for breakfast when in town.

For beach town morning and lunch fare the Osprey is an easy 5 star. Cute atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. The Arepas are dense and have a good cheesy flavor. The Bahn-Mi is very upscale and satisfying with pork belly, Sriracha mayo and Serrano chilis for an extra hit of heat- the French roll is even authentic Bahn-Mi texture. We come to seaside a couple times a year and will definitely make the Osprey part of our routine.

After walking past this new establishment while walking our dog, we decided to have breakfast here this morning. They opened 3 weeks ago. My guy had the French toast, and I had chicken chiliquilles--a delicious and authentic Mexican dish with black beans and eggs. Nice couple runs the place, and the lattes are delicious! Check them out the next time you're in Seaside!

This place is SLOW. I'm not sure what the hype is all about. We were a group of 4 and we waited over 50 min to get our subpar breakfast food. Even though we were seated and got our order taken first, we watched them serve 3 sets of pairs well before us - I literally saw them get served and finish eating before we got our food. There were also 2 ladies that were seated in the back corner, but eventually left after waiting over 20min trying to wave someone down. The restaurant isn't even that big but they're completely backed up in taking orders, serving food and evening paying. When we went up to pay I heard the guy (who I think is the owner) yell at the server "I have too much going on right now! Ring them up!" and ran around frantic. Also, the French toast we got was probably the worst French toast we've ever had. It came last to the table and the server apologizes and said it was running late because the fire went out...well it appears they didn't even bother to to finish cooking it because the French toast was completely soggy, mushy and barely edible. Definitely won't be returning for the incredibly slow service and soggy french toast of a restaurant. If you want real breakfas at Cannon Beach, go to Firehouse Grill; best breakfast place and the owner is super nice!

The coffee was okay, the food had decent flavor but the chilquiles was nothing like it should have been. The tortilla chips were non existent, they had the arepas things that were corn patties instead. The menu said chips in Mexico they are made with chips. It is my favorite breakfast so I was extremely disappointed. The service was also crappy. We got seated right away, brought waters the norm. Then a waitress came after about seven minutes took our order and then brought the food out only time she came to return was to bring the bill. Never asked how anything was, or if we needed anything else. My boyfriend and I are great tippers and because we didn't feel like waiting forever she received 20 percent I would have left 15 so she didn't have tip out of her own pocket, but I would never go back here.

Hands down A+ Food, Service, Decor, and Location!! Everything is sooo fresh and tasty. Heuvos Rancheros and Chilaquiles were superb and the staff so friendly!

You should go here. We went for breakfast, and it was delicious! Coffee, cinnamon rolls, the best scrambled eggs I've had in a while and a great server. Also the biscuits and gravy are to die for. Plus, they make there own home made sausage. This place is small, and the wait can be long, but worth it. Also, the prices were reasonable for the amount if food you received. Plus, you can walk down to the beach after, and burn off that gravy. So good.

Read the Yelp reviews. Also recommended by our hotel. We made the walk...the LONG walk from one end of the Prom to the other...to reach this destination and it did not disappoint. So good we are heading back for breakfast again today! Two days in a row. Clean. Cute. Delicious. What else is there to say? Oh, our breakfast yesterday? Well, after waiting about 10-15 minutes for a table, we got a booth with the "foreign currency" inlaid in the table. Story behind that: it's all the extra money the owners have collected over the years and in their many travels abroad. Kinda neat. I'm a sucker for the special. Our server said its "to die for" and has served over forty of them with everyone cleaning their plate. How could I go wrong? I ordered the schnitzel. Daughter went for their signature biscuits & gravy, sub a pancake for the eggs. Wife went with a Denver omelet. Three lattes (someone said they are the best in town) and one fresh squeezed orange juice. Took awhile for our food to arrive, but I'm not complaining. We sipped our coffees & enjoyed visiting. The owner brought out a complimentary Danish that was delicious. He apologized for the delay. We assured him it was no problem. The lattes were, in fact, quite good. When our food arrived, the first words out of both my wife & daughters mouth: "Oh my God, that smells wonderful". It was MY schnitzel. They both had a bite before I took one and it was pretty much decided then & there we were coming back again today. Everything was really good. Loved it all. Time to get my arse in gear and head to the Osprey Cafe!

After reading the reviews I tried the biscuits and gravy. I was disappointed to say the least. They looked awesome but there was no taste. After salting and peppering heavily they were a bit better. But my wife's French toast was much better. The home fries were great and seasoned and cooked perfect. We arrived at 9 am and they were sold out of the cinnamon rolls and scones already(poor planning if you ask me for a busy weekend) but I'm not the owner and it's not my bottom line. But we were not the only ones that wanted them but couldn't give them Our money as they were sold out? The place was empty when we arrived at 9 and was a wait when we left at 10. So get there early. Overall I would give it another chance knowing not to order the b&g. Everything else was really pretty good and it was a better experience then yesterday at another small place in seaside.

I have only been here just over Labor Day Weekend, but oh my! I had arepas for breakfast, and my husband had chilaquiles. What a win! The service took a little while to bring our food, but everything was piping hot and very well made. I'm only giving 4 stars for now... because I've only had one menu item so far! But they DO serve coffee from a great local roaster, which was well maintained. We WILL be coming back! Gotta love that the menu is small but still varied in choices.

During our trip to Seaside, we ate breakfast here on our last day. We are always searching for a different twist. Osprey Cafe fit the bill. Everything we had was great- the huevos rancheros, arepas, biscuits and gravy. Even my son's Teddy Bear pancakes were light and fluffy with a hint of vanilla. The service was excellent- even though we were sitting outside, they were very attentive. We will definitely be back again!
