This was a wonderful treat today!! A little pricey for lunch but very good food! We had Linguine with Pesto and chicken, Alfredo linguine and chicken, spaghetti and meatball, and the lasagna. Also had the anti pasta plate. Fresh pasta with homemade sauce, all came with salad, fresh, beautiful and homemade dressing. Oh and the Panna Cotta was AMAZING! Definitely will return.

Sunday night dinner with the family, we had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, and a meatball sandwich. Everything was delicious! Nice atmosphere, great food, and friendly service. Even a shot of sambuca to finish the meal!

The best restaurant we have eaten at in Seaside by far. The charcuterie tray was delicious. Our waiter was so welcoming and friendly. At the end of our meal he brought the girls little Italian sodas as a treat. What a nice way to end our meal. We would definitely return to this restaurant.

We went here on a Sunday afternoon with mu wife, my kids and grandchild. Our granddaughter was asleep when we got there and they moved a booth around to make a bed. The service and food was great. We enjoyed a bottle of their house wine and enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. We finished off dinner with some amoretto cordial.

We were in town for my birthday weekend, and looking for something above the normal fish and chips or pizza-type beach fare for dinner. We stopped in here for an early-ish (5:00) dinner, and were seated right away. It's a charming, quaint little place -- cozy and perfect for a quiet dinner. We had a wonderful server, very helpful, friendly, and attentive. The bread is delicious, and comes with a plate of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. While I do love that combination, this bread has a bit of a sourdough quality which I find doesn't play as well with olive oil without some garlic or sea salt and black pepper added to offset the sour a bit. Normally I like a less sour bread....just a particular preference I think, not a big issue. Our dinners were wonderful. I had the spaghetti carbonara, rich and creamy with just the right amount of pancetta. I think cooking the pancetta to more of a crispy texture would have made this even better, but it was great as it is. Note, this is a large portion, and rich; plan to take some home. As delicious as it is, it's difficult to eat that much rich food in a setting. But oh, is it good. My fiance had the chicken picatta, which he liked very much too -- every last caper was gone from his plate when he was done. I had no room for dessert, but our server did a wonderful job of describing them and talked us right into it. I had the panna cotta, which was light and delicious, served in a darling jar with whipped cream on top. For a dessert, it's also a fairly large portion and could easily be shared. He had the lemon sorbet, topped with a raspberry sauce. Delicious as well, but one note -- the cold storage appears to be in the back, accessible while walking from the kitchen through the dining area. I didn't expect house-made sorbet or anything, but it does lose a little appeal to order it and then see the Blue Bunny ice cream tub carried past the table. I think there are a few executional things I'd do a little differently, but the overall experience was wonderful and the meal was excellent. I would highly recommend a stop here to anyone wanting a quiet, special dinner in Seaside.

This resturaunt would have rates higher if it were not for the tiny lunch portions. Seriously, the lasagna lunch portion was a small 2x3 square covered in cheese and sauce. The food tasted great but they need to upside quantity on the lunch lasagna.

Did my homework on Yelp and knew I wanted to try Nonni's on our weekend visit to Seaside. Between the reviews & pics, who wouldn't? Checked with two locals too. Gal at the front desk of our hotel said "Yay". However, the server at our breakfast joint (that was excellent) said "Yay, but...." His reservations being that it was good food but service could be hit or miss. Fair enough. Took the family on Saturday night arriving shortly after 5. Opening the door two sensations immediately hit you: the aroma of something wonderful being cooked up in the kitchen AND a noise level rivaling Autzen Stadium. Place was already packed but a table was being cleared & they said it had our name on it. Looked like more of a table for two....but we watched them score two more chairs and we squeezed into an intimate setting by the fireplace. Our server, Bob, was attentive and friendly at first but quickly lost interest in us after taking our orders. Never offered us a wine or made any suggestions. Never offered a soup, salad or appetizer....I had to ask for the cheesy garlic bread that I'd read about in the Yelp reviews. As it was, we all went with water but would probably had a bottle of wine had he took the time to make a few suggestions. The wines are all Italian imports and divided by region. We had no clue and didn't want to stab in the dark on a $25+ bottle of red. We like good wine and could have said we enjoy XYZ, do you have a recommendation? As it was, Bob said the cheesy garlic bread would take about 10 mins. It was more like 25 and our water glasses had run dry. The plate of sour dough with EVO & balsamic vinegar for dipping long since depleted. Never an offer for more. We had to flag down another waitress to refill our water glasses. Cheesy bread finally came and it really was good. We devoured that pretty fast and could have ordered three more! Dinners arrived another 20 mins later. Wife had lasagna, son had the risotto, daughter the chicken piccata and I went for the cannenolli. Everything looked & smelled wonderful. Wife was mildly disappointed in her lasagna. I tasted it and determined it's about the same as Costco. But before anyone crucifies me on that statement let me just say that I love Costco lasagna and think it's pretty fine! Hence why I rarely order lasagna at an Italian food place. To me, why waste the $$$ on lasagna that I can get at home. Just my opinion and in a backwards way...a compliment to Nonni's on good lasagna. In reality, I think my wife was really just in a mood and wasn't going to like anything tonight. This was our last meal with our son before his 3rd deployment and as a Mom, NOTHING was going to knock her socks off. Not tonight. My son loved his risotto. I had a nibble. It was good. If you like that sort of thing. It's not my preference. Daughter enjoyed her chicken piccata. I thought my cannenolli was very good. Loaded with cheese. Salty. Just the way I like it. My wife had a bite and thought it was too garlicky. I would have thought she'd think it was too salty. But like I said, we'll just discount her opinions tonight because she wasn't mentally in the game to feel positive about anything. Again, doing my Yelp research, I knew that I wanted to try the tiramisu. Son & daughter both agreed. I was surprised when Bob said they were all out, but there might be two left. We were delighted when he came back with the last two! Daughter, son and I shared them and thought they were fantastic! My wife is not a fan of tiramisu. Some have said they are a little too moist and gooey here, but we thought they were great. Love the little mason jar they fix them in. Mmmmm goood. When Bob brought the check, he offered my wife & I a complimentary after dinner drink. I chose the amaretto while my wife had the other....can't recall what it was but smelled of black licorice. My shot of amaretto hit the spot. My wife kinda wrinkled her nose after downing hers. That was a very nice gesture, Bob! Thank you. But you still sucked for most of our dinner when it came to service. I won't hold it against you though. Everyone has off nights. We left and all agreed that except for the service, it was a very good meal & we'd probably go back. Even my wife, who admitted to just not being herself tonight, said she'd like to go again next time we are in Seaside. Docking a star for the service, but otherwise a pretty stellar meal.

We had dinner at Nonni's for the first time last night and had a great experience. For those who may know Seaside, this restaurant is now where Yummi's Winebar used to be. It's cozy and a fun spot. The food and service was delightful. Fortunately it wasn't a busy night, so we were seated as soon as we arrived around 7:30. I chose the Chicken Picatta. I loved the shaved cheese in the pasta, and the roasted veggies served along with the chicken. It was very yummy. Hubby had the Lasagna and really enjoyed it. It was a good sized portion, and he wasn't disappointed in his choice of 'comfort' food. We were strongly encouraged by our server to try the dessert, a Fresh Fruit Panna Cotta. I normally don't care for this dish, as it can be too rich. However at Nonni's it was simply amazing! Light, creamy and the raspberries mixed in made it one of the best desserts I've ever had. I would return for this alone. I also highly recommend their Limoncello Lemon Drop!

Giving 3 star for taste but so disappointed with service. When we arrived we were seated right away at a table she said nobody else wanted to sit at. It was at back corner. No big deal but soon realized that maybe you get forgotten. Actually we ordered right away because it was late and we were ready to get back to our room and relax. It took close to an hour for chicken Alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs. We were offered a dessert for the wait but was too full and didn't feel like waiting once again. A discount would have been nicer. Oh well. I personally would not go back. Have had just as good Italian elsewhere. Also took several attempts to get waiter bring ice for my water.

Had a wonderful server, she was attentive and sweet. She passed compliments to my children and listened to my 3 year old daughter while she talked about her vacation plans (we're visiting from WA) I got the spaghetti carbonara and my fiancé had the cannelloni. My daughter had the linguine alfredo, all delicious dishes! Love Italian food, it's a great spot for a meal in seaside. I docked a star for wait time, it may just have been the night we came in, Saturday night with a full house, a longer wait should be expected. But overall, I recommend stopping here if you're visiting! Can't go wrong with oodles of pasta noodles!

A nice little surprise in Seaside. We had lunch there and the food was delicious. Nice Italian sandwiches, good bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and nice spaghetti with meatballs. The antipasti plate had a nice assortment of meats, cheese, and olives. We will be back.

  • Howard S.

I ate here for dinner. It is understated but quite good. The dishes were very tasty and stood on their own without being drowned in sauce or cream. The menu was traditional Italian with their own flair. I loved the Alfredo which managed to be tasty without being too rich. I got the house negroni which was good. I also got a glass of the house chianti which was surprisingly decent. Seaside is a very touristy beach town and I was concerned about getting average food that satisfied the masses, so I thought Italian would not be the usual fare and would have to stand up to different standards. And it did.

While visiting my mom with my daughter, we stopped in for dinner after a movie. We were all very happy we did, our server was Brianna who was very helpful and very attentive. Food was some of the best Italian we've had. Started with garlic cheesy bread....delicious. My daughter ordered chicken alfredo, mom ordered spaghetti carbonara and I ordered meatball polenta. Again, it was very good and huge portions. Ended with lemon sorbet and spumoni for dessert. Definitely be back.

Good service. Presentation was good. Food was blah. Needs more garlic +?. Spaghetti was very bland.

Had a fantastic lunch. Even my finicky kids cleaned their plates. At first I wouldn't think that would happen. Lunch was reasonably priced. Salads and bread was delicious before pasta dishes. We had spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, and Chicken Alfredo. Everyone loved their dishes. My only complaint was the time it took to get menus. I would recommend it for parents with well behaved kids to step up from the fish and pizza fare or for a romantic date night as well. I'm sure we will comeback through again in our travels, and I will be sure to stop back in.

Pros - Cute atmosphere - quick service - generous portions - gratis apertif - nice menu: I'm not a big pasta fan but I ate well (steamer clams, Caesar salad, side veggies) - good food Cons - stale bread, had to ask first for it wish I hadn't - chipped plate - server less attendant after we rec'd food - martini, meh. Not sure why?

I ordered the canneloni. It took a little while, but they were busy. It was delicious. My other half tried their lasagna. I had a piece of that as well and wanted more The staff at Nonni's was fantastic and attentive. I would definitely recommend coming in for a nice evening with someone special. You won't regret it!

  • Nick M.

The food was very good. We had a salmon dish and a lasagna and both were excellent. The restaurant dropped a star as they served warm water without ice, not appealing at all. In addition the beer we ordered was warm and the only solution the waitress had was to offer us ice to cool it down - not cool and if it wasn't for the good food (which is what we came for) I would have dropped it another star.

  • Lea B.

I had the fettuccini Alfredo, and my boyfriend had the lasagna, both were fantastic. The service was good, as well. The cocktails were waaaaaay too sugary, but the wine selection was great.

My husband and I had the best time at Nonni's. The service was amazing and the food was phenomenal. I usually don't expect much from beach town restaurants but Nonni's did not disappoint! The food portions are large so my husband and I shared an appetizer and an entree. We'll be back the next time we're in Seaside!

Food on the coast is limited and not very diverse, do when you find a place that is good, we visit a lot. They are consistently good with great service. When ever we get a pasta craving we come here. Even if they are the only real Italian place here, if it wasn't good, we wouldn't go. We liked the place that was there before, but we love Nonni's more!

Stopped in here for dinner during a getaway with a friend. Everything was delicious. We had a three course meal of oysters, carbonara, and desert. Splendid food and service. Looking forward to another trip to seaside!

Had dinner there tonight. We had great service and excellent food. I normally don't go out for Italian food because what I cook at home is always better. Nonni's stood the test. My family loved it. It is a nice change from the normal beach fair. The staff was super friendly and very kind to my kids eventhough they were very busy. Thanks for the nice evening.

Amazing lasagna. Pictures of the venue don't do it justice. Truly excellent food and service. Worth walking from he beach. The antipasto platter was decent. Rest of the table loved spaghetti noodles and the risotto. No one was dissatisfied at a picky table of 6 1/2.

The mark of a great place is how do you operate when things are very busy. My wife and i hit up Nonni's for dinner on 4th of july weekend. Despite the fact they were full with a wait it was a very relaxed environment. There were no fake smiles from the servers, no rushing us to order, we felt very welcomed. We had the antipasto plate which was a nice mix of cheeses, meats, olives, artichokes, peppers. I had artichoke crusted beef medallions in mushroom marsala and linguini alfredo for my entree. Wow! The beef was a nice thick cut cooked to perfection and you could tell the pasta was homemade. My wife had some seasonal vegetables that looked like they came straight from the garden, and they were cooked again just right where they had just the slightest crunch to them. I cant stand overcooked vegetables. A fantastic experience! We may be back again this weekend!

First time in town and solar to have found this place. Small restaurant with delicious food options. Caprese was a enough for 2-3 people to share, fresh ingredients. Nightly risotto had a great combination of fresh veggies and shrimp. Cooked perfectly. Beef medallions well made with amazing fettuccine. Meatballs-yum. Everything is house made and well done. Busy place and not huge so make reservations for more than 3 people. Nice change from all the typical steak and fried seafood fare.

We came here for a birthday dinner and it was delicious. Had the special of the night - halibut and risotto, carbonara and spaghetti and meatballs. Cheese bread melted in our mouth. Ambiance was romantic and special. Martini, wine and margaritas were yummy. And service was attentive, adorable, and knowledgable.

The look and feel of Nonni's is warm, inviting and fun! The owners have put their hearts into making this the best restaurant in Seaside and you can feel and taste it! The owner/chef is preparing your meal to order and his wife, Nancy is greetiuhng you as if she's welcoming you into her home. The food is fantastic, we've had several items and they're all wonderful! They are popular so make sure you get there early to avoid a wait...but if you do have to wait it will be well worth it!

It is hard to put into words how wonderful our meal was tonight. After eating at Pizza a'fetta, Bob Rahl, a favorite of ours, suggested we come here for dinner. It will now become a staple of ours whenever we travel to Seaside. I ate the clams and the chicken piccata, followed by Tiramisu. The sauce that accompanied the chicken was flavorful and the chicken was perfectly done. Surprisingly, the veggies may have stolen the show. Crazy good. The tiramisu was melting in my mouth and I just ate each enjoyable bite with eyes closed, savoring the deliciousness. Well done. The decor was perfect. Bob never disappoints, bringing a personal touch to excellent service. We loved this. Don't miss this experience.

Cute, cozy and darn right yummy ! And that's just the atmosphere. Love the lasagna! I like to go at lunch, just the right portion and you get a salad and sometimes bread. Top it off with real cloth napkins -sweet!

Gave our food to another table ...things happen. Re-order and my husband received and finished his meal while eating very slowly. Over 1 hour since we ordered. My meal finally comes and not good . Wait person says meal is on him... You think!!! Find another place if you want to eat together. PS I am a local.

Ate here two nights in a row because we enjoyed it so much. Pastas are really delicious. The spaghetti and meatballs are off the charts good and also loved the spaghetti carbonara . Antipasto platter was delicious also. Our waiter Robert was personable and attentive. He made both evenings just great. The decor is intimate and inviting and great setting for romantic dining option in Seaside. Thank you Nonni! We'll definitely be back.

After dining all over Seaside during our trip last year I was determined to eat here this year. We walked in around six o'clock and were lucky to get seated as fast as we did as it's a busy restaurant. The dining room is very comfy and I loved how they decorated the space. We started with the meatball and polenta appetizer and the caprese salad. Both were fantastic with the fresh heirloom tomatoes being the star of the plate. I ordered the risotto special with italian sausage and my wife enjoyed the prawn pasta. The sauce on her pasta was a little thick but she enjoyed the flavor while my risotto was fantastic. Dessert was a mason jar tiramisu and loved it. Nice way to end a great meal. Service was really nice and accommodating. This is our new place to dine in Seaside. See you next year

Horrible service, amazing food. We had our 3 kids with us and got there just before 6:00 tonight (Friday). The restaurant was mostly empty. Gave our drink order, received our adult drinks then couldn't find our server for 20 minutes. When we finally ordered, I asked that he bring out the kids' food when ready since wend already been there close to 45 minutes and had only just ordered. We watched our salads in the window for 10 minutes while the server chit chatted. Amazingly, the adult entrees came out first, then the kids finally got drinks with their pasta. An hour and a half later, we had to chase someone down so we could pay. Can't go back based on this comedy of service errors. Totally eclipsed the delicious meal.

Nonni's is one of the best Italian eateries we've been to. We actually went 2 days in a row and ordered the same thing. The lasagna is amazing, however, you must bring your appetite. My mom loved the cannelloni. And to top it off, my daughter devoured her spaghetti and meatballs. She's a picky eater.

  • Patrice J.

Great food and service. Had the chicken piccatta at Brianna's suggestion and it was amazing. Next time I would skip the pasta and have extra veggies as they were excellent. Kids portions are good sized. My husband enjoyed his pasta carbonara as well. Nice to get a good dinner in Seaside.

Omg best beach food I have so far down here. I had the lasagna and I am so full right now I should have stopped eating but it was that good. If the Italians eat pasta like that I am so jealous. This place is great for a date night. The owners did a nice job of decorating. Very nice wine selection too Sunny was our waitress and she was awesome! EDIT: Looks like they are closed Tuesday and Wednesday, sorry Todd, you just missed out on some great food.

This has got to be one of the best Italian Bistro's I have been to in a very long time, and I'm glad we stopped in. I was affaid it was going to be a long wait beacuse it was a Friday Eve. but we were served right away and they did have a lot of customers. I had the chicken picata, and my other half had the chicken alfredo. I liked that you get a pallet cleanser after dinner it was refreshing. We did also make a decision to order the tiramasu which at first in my mind I was in regret because of the waist line, but once it hit my mouth....it was heaven!!! We shared this, and it was a race againts time for who could eat the fastest and I am a slow eater! I wish we had a place like this in our town, its so good.

I hate to leave a negative review... but no, just no. If you've never eaten Italian food, and/or have any idea how to cook it - this is the place for you! It's a nice atmosphere and has well-intentioned servers, but the food is just not good. Poorly cooked, no seasoning and just tasteless. We had 5 in party and ordered 5 different dishes all of which were inedible. Sadly one of the worst meals our family has had in a restaurant in years. My husband was utterly flummoxed by the lasagna. It's not meant to look like soup?!? Granted we are near-constant travelers and eat out a lot, but even my 3 young kids couldn't get thru their meals. My 10 year old said "Mom this is the worst meatball I've ever had." Again on the positive the place has trendy decor for Seaside. Maybe go here for a room temperature Pinot Grigio and for hilarity - ask for the Rose by the glass (which is on the menu but will cause great confusion). But don't eat here. Go next door to the Firehouse which is delicious instead. Or go to Ustreet if it's the evening.

We came here because of the reviews. Service and food was great! Zach, our waiter was very friendly and attentive! We had lasagna and spaghetti carbonara (Zach's recommendation). Make sure you stop here when you're in town!

Outstanding food, great atmosphere, and a nice cocktail/wine selection. I ordered the conneloni, my wife ordered the lasagna and my two kids ordered the spaghetti and meatball sliders. The conneloni and lasagna were amazing! The meatball sliders, although good, had a lot of oregano and the spaghetti was nothing special. Ultimately, I'm not going to judge the quality of a restaurant based off of the kids menu, so I could honestly care less if their food was good or not, so long as mine was. I deducted one star because the device was less than spectacular. It was busy, but I felt as if we were forgotten. In the end, I would go back in a heart beat!

  • Cyndy L.

The food at Nonni's was truly awful. If you like limp pasta cooked within an inch of its life and heavy nondescript cream sauces that all taste the same, this is the place to go. The only thing that prevented me from giving one star was the friendly waitress who provided prompt, professional service.

  • Proper D.

Great tasting food but high prices, slow and slightly lax service, few beer and wine-by-the glass options, and a hot and stuffy dining area detracted from a good meal. Party of 2, got seated in the back by the restrooms. Water glasses left empty for long periods of time. Fruit flies everywhere. Non-stop foot traffic to the bathroom. Dishes took about 45 minutes to be served. House salad was overpriced, tiny, bathing in vinaigrette, and disappointing. This place would probably earn more stars if visited at 5pm. But this is a dinner place so they need to step up their game.

We truly enjoyed our dinner here tonight. Of all the restaurants we visited during our vacation to Seaside, this was our favorite! My husband and i had the bellini drink and it was strong and yummy! We also had the antipasto plate for our appetizer and it was delicious with plenty of authentic Italian cold cuts. For dinner I had alfredo pasta with chicken and my husband had lasagna- it was to die for! The food came out nice and hot and the pasta tasted homemade. Our waiter was so nice to us and even took our picture for us which we appreciated. Everyone here is just so friendly and sweet. The restaurant itself is small and cozy with great rustic decor and a fireplace. It looks like there can be a little bit of a wait here, but it's well worth the wait! We highly recommend eating here, give it a try!

Such a let down. From the distant and sporadic service, didn't even get to our drink order til long after we we're seated, to the not toasted at all cheezy bread and flavorless Alfredo. From all the reviews I was more then hopeful..... Makes me wonder.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Nonni's. Greeting was good, server was great. She offered a quick story of the place -- same owners as McKeowns across the street-- which leant some character. They were out of clams -- ok on a Monday night -- so we ordered the antipasto starter. Good quality, decent portion size. Had a bottle of house Chianti (they let you sign and hang it if you finish it). Nice, simple wine; wish they didn't serve the warm one already sitting at the table but was tasty enough. I had cannelloni, spouse had spaghetti and meatballs. Menu is very simple (which is good) and traditional American-favorite pasta-forward but all pasta is made in-house which makes up a bit for the Alfredo-heavy selections. All was house-made and tasty. I would go back.

Finally!!!! A REAL ITALIAN PLACE on the coast!!! Good things come to those who wait. I have dined in Italy, New York City, San Francisco, and many more places known for fine dining and Nonni's ranks right up there with the best of them. Quality food, great service, decent prices, flavours that you will crave, and much more are in store for those lucky enough to know about Nonni's. At this time I would put my meal at Nonni's in my top 3 of all time Italian dining experiences. Nonni's is a wonderful intimate eatery on the main drag of Seaside. Close enough to all of the fun but far enough removed from the deep fried sugary tourist garbage that lines Broadway. Owned by experienced restauranteurs (McKeowns & their Irish Pub both in Seaside), this is a wonderful example of when an Irishman and an Italian fall in love and raise up generations of awesomeness. This is a beautiful example of what a bistro should be. Prompt and friendly service greets you as you are led into a very homelike dining room. The open kitchen, fun decor, and smells will win you over and make you wonder why can't all eateries on the coast be as great. My spaghetti and meatballs were perfection. Fontina cheese stuffed meatballs made with fresh beef, pork, and veal were flavoured perfectly. The meat sauce was hearty and rich and had the perfect blend of sweetness and savory. The pasta was cooked to perfection as well. My lovely dinner companion had the Linguini Alfredo and was beside herself, as she had never had good Italian faire. It is nice to assist in the escape of Olive Garden patrons who think they are what real Italian food is about. The bread!!! Oh my Gods the bread!!! Rustic, crusty, baked foodgasms on a board. Easily the best balsamic and olive oil that I have ever had. Meals come with a nice size loaf for two. My only complaint is that the supply of bread isn't endless or at least limited to two or three loaves, but I do understand that quality comes with a price and that if unlimited bread is offered, unlimited crassness and problematic diners can rear their ugly heads. We seem to get our fair share of them here on the coast....both local and tourist alike sadly. The fresh berry panna cotta was simply amazing. Big enough to share and made with quality ingredients. The berry compote perfectly topped the creamy goodness beneath it. So rich and decadent!! Complimentary amaretto or sambuca was offered as an after dinner palette cleanser. The sambuca was some of the best that I have ever had. Served with the traditional three coffee beans afloat. My lovely lass had never experienced the strength of a good sambuca, so it was fun seeing her get tipsy on a few sips. Being Irish, I sipped mine quickly and enjoyed the wonderful warmth of a perfect meal, a pretty girl, an amazing dessert, and a wonderful discovery. Prices were spot on for the quality and portions. Dinner for two, with dessert, and two soft drinks was 37.50 with tip. The leftovers (plenty for a complete meal for the both of us) was so amazing for lunch today. Nonnis is the perfect place for a lunch, a casual supper, a romantic dinner, or a celebratory meal. A crowded Monday night is a positive sign of quality. I am pretty sure they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (mourn), but the lone chef (owner) needs to rest and I fully support that. He was poetry in motion last night. Our server Danielle was spot on and well trained. This is just what we locals needed when it comes to Italian cuisine. Mangia mangia!!!!

Delicious Italian dishes including lunch pairings with salad. Happy hour menu too! The lasagna is extra special. Super friendly staff. It's a great stop on the way back from the beach :-)

In a town that lacks good restaurants, this one is a standout. In fact, it would be a very good choice against far tougher competition. Very good spicing and texture on the caprese salad. Superior tomato-based bean soup. Outstanding shrimp and sun dried tomato risotto--different every day. Nice saucing and good texture and flavor on meatball hero--especially good tomato sauce here, always a good indicator of quality. Good wines, reasonably priced. Bread should be crustier (my only nit, very minor). Happy service from Bob and Karissa. Fairly priced for very good food. No complaints, only smiles. Make a reservation. This is the nicest place in town and they will fill up at busy times. In business for 10 days so far. Impressive!

YUM! They let me order the AMAZING prawn linguini @ lunchtime. Friendly, attentive staff. French pressed Illy pushed this meal right over the top!

Absolutely delicious Italian! So nice to finally have an Italian restaurant in seaside that's so fantastic. I had the cannelloni for dinner and panna cotta for dessert and was very happy with it

Delicious food! Happy Hour menu has great options that taste amazing and the perfect proportion. The noodles taste fresh and the pesto sauce is mouth watering!

In our opinion, the best nice restaurant we've found in Seaside in recent years. Small, intimate, friendly, with exceptional attention by host and waitstaff. We ordered a salad to share, lasagna, and cioppino. Highly recommend both of these entrees. Select from a large list of Italian wines. Great date night or small group spot.

What a wonderful dining experience! We have frequented Pizza a'fetta and when Bob recommended trying Nonni's, we were excited to try it. It was simply amazing. My sisters and I had a wonderful evening thanks to delicious dishes, amazing service and just a delightful ambiance. Can't wait to go back!

Very good food and experience. I want to give it 5 stars for excellent taste. If I have to offer some suggestion, they need to improve the bread. The bread they served were quite dry, not exactly the same level of quality as other food.

Brilliant food and service. My friend is a vegetarian and quite discerning which makes eating out a challenge. The chef, Delilah, stepped up and did a fantastic job with her Primavera. Vegetables and pasta were perfect. Of course the lasagna was incredible and the local beer from Ft. George Brewery in Astoria was the ideal pairing. They finished the night with a cordial thanking us for dining with them. Best meal in Seaside, please support this local business.

Horrible experience. Walked into the restaurant and was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. Then when I asked how long it wood be 20 minutes later, I was told by another server it would be at least another 30 minutes. Okay. I get it, it's busy and there is limited seating. So my family and I decided to sit at the bar and get a few drinks while we wait. 15 minutes go by with every server walking past us with no drink menu or food menu given to us. I asked a server if it would be okay to order drinks and her response was this. "It's gonna be a minute, okay." Yeah, no thank you. "Nonni" gonna happen.

We still like this restaurant a lot. We think it is the best restaurant in Seaside. We like Italian food and this is our favorite among the several restaurants in the area that provide such a menu. Reasonable people can disagree but we prefer the menu and wine list over other places. The question of authenticity doesn't have much meaning in small town Oregon. The wine list has a good selection of interesting whites selling for $24-$28 which my wife loves. The menu has several good pasta choices and some other good entrees. Happy hour provides several smaller choices which work better for us these days though we still get through a bottle of wine and share the panna cotta. Service has never been a problem for us. We liked it when it opened. We like it now.

Seaside's best! Authentic "mom and pop" Italian food. She had the pesto linguini, and immediately commented on the freshness of it, and noted the addition of capers. I had the polenta with meatball. OMG, best meatball I've ever had, not to mention, the unparalleled polenta. We added the garlic cheese bread as an appetizer, got the happy hour smaller portions, added a bottle of nice Italian Barbera, shared dessert, coffees, and Amoretto apertifs, all for $53!! All of this was accompanied by our wonderful waiter, Bob, who gave us the back story of Nonni's. We WILL be back!

I love Nonni's! Every time I have a chance to be in Seaside, I go to Nonni's. It's a small unassuming place with wonderful Italian food. They have a meatball and polenta appetizer that is amazing. The meatball is moist and the polenta is spot on. If you go there, you HAVE to try their garlic cheese bread. It is heaven! I could get sick off of that bread! The service is good. And the ambiance feels like you are at a cafe in Italy. I love this place and can't wait to come back!!

Excellent food! This place knows what they're doing with Italian home cooking. Try the lasagne and Caesar salad!

  • Ray C.

The food was tasty except the 'fresh' bread which was horrible-dry/stale, def not fresh baked. The heirloom tomato caprese had perfectly balanced flavors and the ravioli special of the day was scrum! One of our party's entrees was given to another table resulting in a 15 minute wait while the rest of us finished our meals. The server was rightfully mortified. Unfortunately I had to ask for that dish to be taken off our bill. Service was attentive and well paced, if a little slow. Don't come here if your in a rush. I'll be back and look forward to seeing how this place matures.

Nonni's is an absolute gem in Seaside! We started with a Caesar salad; the dressing is amazing and authentic. For entrees, I had the spaghetti and meatballs, and my friend the polenta and meatball. They were the best meatballs I have ever had in my life, and the portions were huge. Our server, Bob, was so friendly and attentive; we really enjoyed him. I will be making Nonni's a regular stop when in Seaside.

Rarely can an Italian place live up to my expectations. With my own Nona's cooking in my mind, I was prepared for disappointment. However, my family and I were amazed. From the steamer clams to the limoncello martini to the carbonara to the cannelloni. Everything was excellent and perfectly cooked. The only thing I would change is my dessert choice. The tiramisu was too soggy, but other desert was good. When/if I find myself back in the area, this will be a must stop for me.

We just got back from our first meal at grandmas, I mean, Nonni's Italian Bistro! It was, to be cliche', TO DIE FOR! Thank you thank you to the McQ's for opening this great little bistro in Seaside! I had Chicken Picotta that was just what I wanted. A perfect amt. of pasta with delicious cheese on top, steamed or maybe sautéed fresh green beans, broccoli, and even pieces of corn on the cob! Then the chicken, wonderful sauce with capers, perhaps a little mustard and lemon. Two pieces and it all tasted so good, I ate it all! I should have shared our firsts which was delicious crusty bread dipped in EVOO, really GOOD EVOO, balsamic vinegar, and I asked for a little parmesan to go on it. Our beautiful salad came, the house salad with artichoke hearts, lovely lettuce and halved cherry tomatoes in different colors. We mentioned we got some grit in the lettuce...I, having to wash tons of spinach for a dinner at school, understood how that could happen. Just delicious flavor so throughout this whole meal! We are an Italian family who have had many opportunities to eat the real thing...THIS WAS GREAT!!! The noodles were perfect, chewy not too soft, like homemade but better! Ha I finished up with the panne cotta with blueberry compote and the complimentary apparitif! I don't drink but that little glass of amaretto liqueur really hit the spot! My DH wouldn't drink any bc he didn't want to lose the taste of his pesto & chicken dinner. All four of us were delighted with our divine dinners! Our friends had the pesto, too, and lasagna. They absolutely loved them both! She licked her fingers after enjoying her tiramisu a little too much. Ps. It was my BFF's birthday and mine too! (Well Saturday it will be). Sonja Laverne was wonderful to us as was everyone for that matter. Ps.My meal was much better for a diabetic like myself. The pesto peops had plenty of pasta to take home.

Service was so slow and non attentive that it affected our dining experience. Food was delicious but it was hard to judge because it took forever to get. Though there were less than a dozen tables, we were totally overlooked. Don't come here if you are starving, have kids or want to be in and out in an hour. If you are in no hurry and don't want to be bothered then this is the place for you.

The lasagna tasted good but that's the only thing positive I have to say. The waitress ate her dinner at the back of the restaurant while we waited close to an hour for our spaghetti and lasagna. When my daughter's spaghetti arrived it had a piece of metal in it. We certainly won't be back.

Wow. Best Italian food this side of New York and I'm not exaggerating. Meatballs are the size of bocce balls. Pasta cooked perfectly. LOVED our server - ask for Sunny!

Very disappointed. We had heard this place was owned by the same folks as another restaurant that we like.( I won't name it as I don't want to hurt the reputation of that one) Very slow service. Waited 15-20inutes for them to take the order. Waited another 45 minutes for our food- It's PASTA people how hard can that be!!! 3 tables arrived after us and all 3 were served before us. The waitress forgot our salad and brought it after the entrees... No thanks. It was a Caesar salad that looked pathetic. The bread was not worth eating- cold and not tasty. Please - good bread is essential to an Italian meal. We will not return. BTW this place is in the old Yummy's space. We used to visit Yummy's at least once a week. Sometimes 2-3 times a week if friends were in town.

Service was good, food was just okay. My meal was the chicken picatta. This dish I've had at many Italian restaurants. I can honestly say the dish here was mediocre at best. The chicken was cooked perfectly, but the lemon sauce tasted like it came straight out of a lemon juice bottle. The vegetables were cold and the Alfredo pasta texture was dry and was probably left under a warming lamp. My girlfriend had the garlic prawns in Aflredo sauce. Her meal tasted better than mine. For $60.00, I would go somewhere else.

My wife and I have eaten here twice and both times it was excellent. The food is great and plentiful, the decor/atmosphere is appealing and the staff are very friendly and attentive. And the panna cotta is to die for.

First time eating at Nonni's. Great overall experience. Reasonable prices, amazing dishes, and wonderful service. Bob was our server and like many others have mentioned, he was wonderful - very interested in us, energetic, and definitely attentive. My wife got the cioppino and even though we were on a "date night" she was very quiet as she overly enjoyed her meal! I had spaghetti and meatballs which sounds simple, but it was clearly homemade and quite amazing. The portions were enough to bring home leftovers. We were happy even before they offered a free after-dinner aperitif! We will definitely be back in the future.

We went to the restaurant on a whim and found out that it had only been opened for six days! The environment was well thought out and even though it was small could accommodate many customers. The decorations also made it feel fresh and new. My husband ordered a chicken dish and I ordered the cannalonni. Everything was spectacular. The prices were just right for the portions and the service was great and the wine list extensive. We will come back for sure.

Had a fantastic dinner (meatballs & chicken piccata). The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Our server, Danielle, was well versed on not only menu items, but wine pairings as well. We'll definitely return!

What an OUTSTANDING meal (and light years above most of the other beach town restaurants - not a difficult task to achieve, but still. . .). Extremely fresh and authentic Italian food, well-chosen wine list, superb service (thanks Danielle!), lovely atmosphere, and given the wonderful dining experience, decent prices. No, you won't get a sunset view, but the food an atmosphere are way better than the pedestrian stuff you get over by The Prom (except Maggies). This block of Broadway seems to be the place to go for good dining - flanked by The Firehouse and Seaside Brewing, you could stay on this side of the canal and be fed quite well. We'll certainly make Nonni's our go-to when staying in Seaside.

The polenta with meatball (hey, it's a big meatball) was delicious. The polenta has rosemary and lemon(?)...creamy and a perfect accompaniment to the marinara sauce. Bravo!

This place was just awesome! Great service, our waiter was super sweet and helpful. The food was wonderful and authentic Italian food. My lasagna was rich and delicious and I also tasted some of the carbonara which I would highly recommend for it's creamy, tastiness. I also had the tiramisu for dessert which was lighter but still great. The atmosphere was also lovely and great for any occasion.

What started off as an exciting evening ended in massive disappointment!!!! First off the server only gave us 4 waters indicating we could share and we had 5 people at the table. He messed up our order and was like, "oh oops sorry." Didn't even fix the tab. Who does that? My daughter ordered a meatball sandwich and he brought her garlic cheese bread, not even close man! The Alfredo was as bland as the service! The $30 lobster risotto was made with frozen lobster. We know because parts were still nice and frozen. When my son asked him for more marinara (which we would have gladly paid extra for) the waiter said, "I'll see?!!" What the heck does that mean?! Then he brought him out a spoonful 15 minutes later, stating this was the best he could do. When it was all said and done, it took so long to bring our tab our entire table had excused themselves and I was left waiting. When the waiter finally noticed me, he brought the tab, but not without letting me know how busy he was and I should understand that! I have never been so insulted!

This is among the best family-style Iyalian restaurants you will find anywhere. Perfect for date night or bring the whole crew after playing at the beach. A fantastic wine selection really completes the experience. Highly recommended. We are visiting from California and will count this as a highlight on our trip.

After seeing the pictures people had posted on yelp of the mason jar tiramisu, we gave this place a try because we love tiramisu. I have to say, the decor is very nice and feels homey yet classy at the same time. We were there for happy hour and found the happy hour prices decent, but the selection quite limited. The feeling from the waiter was that we were the least important table he had, presumably because weren't a well-to-do couple, but a family with two kids. Most importantly though, the food was underwhelming. Most of what we ordered (lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and panini with pasta salad) lacked sufficient seasoning. Most disappointing, though, was the tiramisu. I order it everywhere it's available and I have to say, this was the worst one I've ever had. The ladyfingers were completely dissolved into it, so I'm assuming it was old, and they used an obscene amount of chocolate chips in place of the traditional cocoa powder. All that for $7.50. If I had paid their normal prices instead of happy hour prices I would have been pretty upset.

Excellent food and service! We were a group of seven walking in without reservations. Shonna found us a table by the window right away. She told us the specials and got us our drinks. We had the polenta and stuffed meatball for an appetizer which was very tasty. My husband had the lasagna (wonderful) and my brother-in-law the cannelloni which he loved. The servings were huge so my mom, sisters and I split the shrimp risotto with pesto, (which was to die for) and the carbonara pasta which was also tasty. We had an order of spaghetti and meatballs as well, which were huge. We split the tiramisu and blackberry pana cotta. The desserts were huge! Shared a bottle of chianti and got to sign the bottle so they could use it as part of their decorations. They've only been open a week and I hope they do well because we will defiantly return. It was a great evening and would highly recommend this place.

  • Robin F.

Excellent meal. Walk a little further passed the tourist row of restaurants and you will find this lovely little bistro. My cannelloni was wonderful and I was happy to find they have a nice house red. I was there with my two teenagers and so I was the only one drinking. We shared the panna cotta for desert and it was so good. I travel enough for work to know when I find a gem, and this is definitely one. And it was very fairly priced. It's small, so you may want to call ahead. It's worth it.

Sunny was so great! Take her recommendations! She will not steer you wrong! From the appetizer and house wine to the entrees! We enjoyed this dinner more than any other in Seaside!

  • Beth H.

The restaurant is unassuming but should not be overlooked. We tried many items on their menu. The heirloom stacked caprese salad was not only beautiful in presentation, it had just the right amount of basil and balsamic vinegar with the freshest tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. My husband ordered the cannelloni and I ordered the beef medallions as entrees. The cannelloni came steaming to the table with a melt in your mouth sauce on top of tender homemade pasta stuffed with tantalizing cheese mixture. The beef medallion presentation was magnificent but lacked the tenderness associated with medallions. Although the madeira wine sauce was well seasoned and the medallions cooked to perfection, the fact that the meat was chewy was a disappointment. Although this fell short of my expectations, the side of fettucine that accompanied the meat dish was oh so delicious. The noodles were tender and the cheese sauce was complex. The cooked carrots on the plate were tender, baby carrots that were perfectly seasoned. All in all, I loved the service, ambiance and friendliness of this establishment and will return next time we're in Seaside.

I've never written a review on Yelp but I had to because this place was so amazing. My husband and I both agreed that the fettucchini Alfredo was the best we've ever had beore. Not only was the food fantastic but the staff as well. Our server (Robert) was very friendly and talkative, and we left thinking that he was the nicest server we have ever had. We will definitely be going back here everytime we visit Seaside!

My mom and I stopped in for what we thought would be a simple request of coffee and dessert. I ordered espresso and mom got a French press coffee. We ordered tiramisu and a panacotta. First the waiter came back to the table and said they were out of coffee for the French Press but they did have my espresso. So, next he came back and said they were out of the dessert. How do you not know those things ahead of time. They are pretty basic. It's brand new but if that's a sign of things to come then they might as well shutter the doors now.

Today my husband and I tried a new restaurant in Seaside, OR. We were not disappointed. One of the best house salads I've ever eaten. I had the Spaghetti and meat ball, lunch portion which was excellent. My husband had the linguini Alfredo and it too was wonderful. Our server, Zach was on staff alone and he did an amazing job as the place began to fill up on this Sunday afternoon. To finish we tried their tiramisu and it was fabulous! We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

We went to Nonni's after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp. The food was fantastic and the staff warm and gracious. We did have one small problem and the owner responded promptly to correct it. GREAT for kids and adults...Good wine, great food and a good time for all. Loved each and every dish. We can't wait to return next year!

  • Tom K.

I was looking for a place to take my kids that wasn't burgers or pizza, and after reading a few reviews, we walked over to Nonni's. The mid-week wait for dinner was modest, around 15 or so minutes. Great atmosphere, nice decor, great setting for families or a date. My kids loved the warm bread (they devoured two servings) and our drinks came out right away. Our server was was polite and friendly, and we never had to wait long for water or drink refills. I had the spaghetti carbonara, my daughter the fettuccine alfredo, and my boys the spaghetti with meatballs. Everyone was very happy with their entrees, and the boys loved the ginormous meatballs on their plates. Portions were generous - we all took leftovers back to our room. The only complaint is that somehow my salad never made it to the table. But our server made up for it by comping my drink and giving me a Sambuca to finish with. And they were all out of tiramisu and panna cotta, which bummed out my kids greatly. All told, it was a very nice dining experience and I would recommend it to any of my friends. Next time we make the trip south to Seaside, we will make a return visit to Nonni's for sure!

  • Hot K.

Food was tasty, but my cannelloni came out way too hot and my husband's lasagna was too cold. Really cute decor and tasty sounding menu, but our particular server was doing it wrong. He repeatedly served my husband first -- a bit bizarre for a traditional Italian joint. I'll give him that my husband is pretty cute :p. At the end of the night, he offered a birthday aperitif gratis, and offered two choices, then came back with the wrong one Anyways, worth trying again because the food seems pretty solid. I'm hoping it was just an off night.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
