This place is little more than a Denny's with beer and wine. We were traveling and the motel manager recommended it (!). Apparently it is ran by the bartender. I asked for a vodka tonic in a large glass, maybe a pounder. The server came back and said the bartender said I could only have one in a tall glass. The point was that I was thirsty, not that I wanted more alcohol. I then tried to order a plain large tonic with a shot of vodka. The bartender said no. As we had found something and already ordered our meal, I gave up and had a glass of wine. I ordered the patty melt w/coleslaw side and my husband ordered the chili omelet. Mine was good, my husband's not so much. It was absolutely canned chili - yuk. We will not stop here again.

We went here for an early dinner and there was hardly anybody in the place. And, the ambiance was nice...old rustic feel to the place. I am not a fan of Carpet in a Restaurant as they begin to smell BAD. The service was good and the food was okay. I had Pork chops and eggs and hashbrowns, and the pork chops had no flavor, I mean, a little spices go a long way in the cooking process. :) JS. I think we will come back on a Saturday morning to try it out when it is busy. :)

Drive by this place multiple times as I travel into the area for work ofter. Finally decided to give it a shot. Sat in the lounge. One waitress/bartender for the whole place with about 20 customers. She did an admirable job keeping up. Not sure about the other food, but the sirloin was less than memorable, at least in a positive manner. Few restaurants close by, but I will take the drive in the future to another establishment.

Wasn't really impressed with the roll the French dip came on, but what a great fry! Will come back to try another menu item. Overall very busy family restaurant during dinner time.

Probably the best breakfast on this end of town. Huge huge huge portions. Prices are very reasonable. Best breakfast dish is the chicken fried steak. Available either fried or grilled. I have not had the grilled, but friends have said its great too. Also a great place to grab lunch and a beer in the bar. I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience.

Great chicken fried steak served all day long. Your choice of grilled or fried. This place serves rib sticking home style food and plenty of it! The bar area is a throw back to a '60's western themed bar. I have not had many drinks there, but they do make a decent bloody mary. No frills, just large portions of food at a reasonable price and decent drinks.

Flavorless pancakes. Classic feel, like somewhere my parents would have gone. Average quality burger. Not as good as an Elmers.

First time to this restaurant and our last time. The food quality is poor and extremely greasy. I had the chicken fried steak, with eggs, hash browns, and toast. My wife had their cinnamon roll and Ham. The cinnamon roll was actually black although they said they always serve it in this fashion. Please don't go, you'll regret it.

This place was incredible. Service was fast and wait staff was amazing. They definatly don't go skimpy on the food. Bring your appetite because you get plenty to eat. I had the chicken fried steak and haft to say it's the best I've had in a long time and the homemade country gravy made it that much better. Also if you like spicy they have deep fried jalapeño onion wedges that were awesome. I will definatly recommend this place to anyone driving through Salem Or,

Three stars for inconsistency. Some meals are a home run, half are acceptable, and some absolutely suck. Guess it depends on the cook, but the owner and servers should know what's acceptable and what isn't. Do not get take out! It's as if they know you won't send it back. Horrible! In the bar, Molly gets 5 stars. Very attentive, and you will know your drinks are poured from an experienced bartender.

Went here for the first time for breakfast in the middle of the day. Friendly, quick service and food was reasonably priced with generous portions. Good eggs & toast, hashbrowns and bacon not overcooked like some places. Sausage patty was kind of bland but, all in all, a better and cheaper breakfast than Shari's.

It was a Friday morning and my husband and I were looking for a place with a full bar and open for breakfast not too far from home. There aren't many choices and it took some thinking but we came up with Schroeders. It had been several years since we had last been in. We walked in around 9:00am, and decided to eat in the lounge. There were several other couples eating and a couple people sitting at the bar. Seemed like a good sign. The bartender walked over and pleasantly greeted us at our booth. She was smiley, bright and cheery. Her name was Brittany. She offered to bring water and asked if we would like anything else to drink. I ordered a Bloody Mary and requested a splash of dill pickle juice with it. My hubby ordered a margarita... Such an odd drink for breakfast! Anyhow, she brought our drinks out quickly and I took a sip. It was PERFECT! They do not use a pre-made mix and actually make their own at the time of ordering. I loved it! We placed our order, I had the chicken fried steak which was HUGE and my hubby ordered the Big John, which included biscuits and gravy. Both were tasty and so big we had leftovers to take home. Overall we were very pleased. We ha amazing service, great food and delicious drinks. Te decor is a little dated, but clean and comfortable. We will be back for sure and I recommend giving it a try.

We were seated at 10:50 and at 12:20 still had no food. Left and will never go back. Management was rude about it and made the situation worse by making excuses.
