Took my wife here for her birthday, she loves their pizza. Pizza was great! As we were cutting birthday cake I heard an employee raising his voice. I looked up to see my wife getting a lecture in front of the customers from an older man behind the counter. Apparently she had grabbed some forks from behind the counter when she couldn't get said grumpy mans attention. It was painful to watch and I was embarrassed for her. The mood pretty much was destroyed from that point forward. She got the wraith of the Padingtons Pizza Alpha male. I agree she should not have reached behind the counter but I wish it could have been handled more discretely.

I love Padington's. Especially the lunch sized pizzas. They're just the right amount. I prefer the south location to the north location. The environment at the south location seems to be happier/more positive. And the pizza is just a little bit better. I've noticed that the norths pizza comes out a little wet on the bottom. Still tasty though. But I prefer a crispy crust. Not a soggy one. Oh well Humdinger is my fav. So delicious. Padington's is always a great choice for a meal !

I can't tell you whether or not the food is good because I have been waiting for 45 minutes (not an exaggeration) for my pizza. The gal at the counter just called my number and when I went to pick up my pizza, she said it had not been made. I guess they lost my ticket. Other than that, this place has an odd, old-timey saloon motif that includes a flat panel TV mounted above the fireplace for some reason. They make you pay cash for drinks at the saloon bar and will not sell you drinks where you pay for your pizza...I don't get it. We weren't buying alcoholic beverages so I don't understand why you can't purchase soda at the same time as your pizza. I guess I will amend this review if my pizza is amazing...if I ever get it. :(

Pizza is fantastic but if it wasn't for the sweet little girls working the counter, this place would be in the toilet. I sat waiting for my pizza and the young boys making the food looked like they wanted to kill themselves while the manager would set the pizzas on the counter, call out who it belonged to and then continued to repeat. No, "thanks for coming in" or anything. Might not come back solely because of that.

I called to place and order over the phone and the lady that answered was beyond rude. I asked to also order my drinks and she states we cannot take your drink order at the pizza bar so I say ok pass me to the drink side and she refused. Needless to say I was really upset I ended up canceling my order and I wont go back either the one on Pine St. This is not the first time I have gotten rude service from this one. NOBODY smiles while they are working there. Commercial St. is a lot better and much more friendly.

Went here with a pastor friend for a lunch meeting and I can't even remember what kind of pizza we got but it was delicious and the atmosphere was pretty cool kind of a wood chips on the floor kind of place with lots of hustle and bustle and happy talking and smiles all around kind of place. I would honestly say one of my three top pizzas in the area.

Cant even answer their phone when you call, long wait times to have pizzas made - they obviously think they are the best place in town, but they are in for a rude awaking as customers will not tolerate their terrible service.

Good selection of pizzas ok crust and not at a bad price. Not the best pizza I've had but not mediocre either. I would say above average. Sucks that they closes early even on weekends and no delivery.

We went to Padington's for lunch today (Halloween) and instead of a friendly, personable welcome when we got there about 3 minutes early, they told us to leave because they weren't open until 11:00am. Ok, that's not so bad. We waited and when we finally were let in, we went to the counter to order. Not a smile could be seen in the place. Everyone seemed to be miserable and not very happy to help us. The bartender was the only one who had any personality and she was friendly and nice. I ordered 2 salads because I saw a salad bar off in the distance. When we got to the salad bar, I was dissapointed to see a few pre-made salads sitting there. Bummer... I wouldn't have ordered one if I knew this was the case. We got our pizza but nobody offered us plates or anything so we sat at the table wondering if we ewre supposed to use napkins or what.. I went back up to ask and the friendly bartender handed me some styrofoam appetizer size plates (weird that we don't even get full size plates). The pizza was ok... it's not my favorite but my mom likes it so it's probably personal preference. The worst part came at the end when we needed a to-go box for the rest of our pizza. They charged us 35 cents for a box!!!!! Completely unheard of in my experience!! I couldn't believe it!! Overall, this place was not good at all. They need an attitude adjustment and some common sense... customers need plates and to-go boxes. I won't be returning.

Love this place. A lot like Wallery's without the screaming kids, and video games. Very clean and just a nice place to get your pizza eaten' on. Con. A little pricey.

If your like Thin Crust this is the place! Fresh dough made every morning. Meat sliced every morning and cheese is fantasic! Its all about dough sauce and cheese. and they have a great combo! I used to work here in 2004 I go here often. and its fantastic great flavor and not bland. well priced. lunch specials are great about $5 large about 22$ but worth it. This pizza is cripy and thin if you expect something else go somewhere else. I love it. everytime im in salem I go Here!

Best pizza ever! Spicy pepperoni and thin crunchy crust. I have been almost in every nook and cranny of this country and Paddington's pizza is just the absolute best!

guys at work have been raving about this place for ever. Honestly it was good (not great). Dough was cracker thin. Toppings were great quality. Price was way out of line for what you get. I don't know I just think it could be done so much better. Better dough, better sauce, loved that they cooked the pizza right on the oven deck. List of ingredients on the menu would be nice. Didn't like the shticky names for the pizzas. Made me feel like I had no options in ordering. Gonna try Abby's maybe next time. I don't think I'll be going back. Sorry for the let down review just wasn't my cup of tea.

It's not the 5 star I remember from 5 years ago, but its still above average pizza with fresh ingredients. The best pizza I've had in Oregon.

  • Savannah R.

The best taco pizza! It has crushed nacho Doritos. The ingredients are fresh and the order arrives within a Reasonable amount of time. However, they are usually busy so prepare to get in line and wait for the order.

I have been eating lunch there once a week for so many years I cant remember. Sure I have tried other places and some are fine but I really think that Paddings is the best Pizza in Salem. Personally I like the Humdinger and have them add Jalapenos, it is wonderful. It is a special treat to take the family out to Paddings. The service has always been great. I do like the ice cold mugs as well.

I love Paddingtons Pizza. Best Pizza ever and always crispy crust, even in the center. I also love the humdinger but just a tip... i seen in previous reviews if you ask for fresh mushrooms... you will recieve. I now live out of state and crave the Paddingtons and hope that someday I will find a place that is equivalent but so far no such luck. They need to go nation wide!!

Delicious thin crust pizza! They have a great lunch special where you can choose from a variety of 8-inch pizza's for $4.25. I'll have to be careful not to indulge in too much pizza since it is right across the street from my chiropractor.

Not very good pizza but has lots of seating to accommodate large groups. Staff has always been friendly, and a minority of people really likes their pizza.

My husband and I came here for lunch today with our 2 year old. We each ordered a lunch pizza, and thought they were pretty good. I would not call it extraordinary but I thought it was a good value; the vegetarian lunch pizza was $4.75 and I left feeling full (as did the rest of my family). The service was ho-hum, we both sensed that the girl taking our order and the bartender were grouchy. I found it annoying that we had to pay for our pizza at one counter and then pay for our drinks seperatley at another counter, but perhaps that's just the way pizza parlours like to operate ( I've experienced that at other places as well). I might go back but not in a hurry.

I honestly feel so sorry for some of our friends who are local and suggested this place as a good pizza joint. Apparently their standards in regards to a good pizza joint are skewed based upon their other options. I had good hopes as the menu was pretty extensive for Pizza.....and NOTHING else. I actually asked if there was another menu that listed their salads/appetizers/etc. It was politely explained that I was looking at THE menu. We ordered 2 large pizzas and 3 salads. Management would so benefit from actually making a quality salad and dressings. Instead we were handed 3 pre-packaged very basic salads in plastic to go containers and commercial low quality dressing. Did I mention they are rationing silverware and plates.... I was handed 3 regular plates and 3 forks. When I explained we were a group and would be sharing the salads I was handed 3 additional foam plates. Apparently we had reached our quota of plates. Great location, good bar, and still lacking. Ok so on to the pizza...when it finally arrived, 48 minutes from when we ordered, it looked good. Here is where we have the problem.....I thought the pizza crust was pre-made thin garbage with no taste. My wife actually liked the "thin crust". She wins, I won't fault them for the crust. Although I still would bet money that the crust is pre-made and comes out of a freezer! Pizza joint no. Pizza place at a food court at the local stadium...yep.

I love their pizza I however don't like the differences between the pine st parlor and commercial south. Pine st Nickel and dimes you. If you get a To go cup on their Monday and Tuesday lunch special they charge you $.50 more. Commercial never does this. While minor in cost, it is the little things that just tick people off. What next are you going to charge for ice. I would rather not have a drink offered then to b e petty over a couple cents.

The problem with Paddington's - and places like them - is that they all seem to meld into some generic idea of what a pizza shop "experience" is. Paddington's is no different than a thousand or two other pizza joints which serve pretty much the same fare up and down the state. Ambience: Definitely set up for masses of hungry eaters. The room is a cavern of picnic tables, noisy in the extreme when busy, and there is a total lack of privacy...or even the feeling of it. Out front the pizza makers are busy running skins through rollers, painting pizza sauce on them, along with the usual mixture of meat and vegetables. Order here/pickup there/get your beer at the bar. The place is, though, clean and well lit. Food: Ugh! Industrial, yet passable when considered against the competition. Crusts are thin, which is not altogether a minus. In other words, if they were thin and underbaked, they would be unpalatable. Ingredients: The usual, very thin slices of various sausages, canned mushrooms...nothing at all stands out. Service: If you're into waiting your own table, it's great. The help is, well, helpful. This is a business transaction, folks. Don't look for anyone to ask you about the family or how the Volcanoes are doing. Price: Competitive.

Ew =\ First off, we ordered take out. Hubby went and got it and said everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Usually I'm willing to try a place again but there is too many pizza joints to go around to subject myself to their food again. Our pizza was insanely cheesy. That probably sounds like a dumb thing to say about pizza. But I was literally picking the full inch layer of cheese off so I could taste the sauce and dough... We live practically next door to the place and our pizza wasn't hot when we got it in the door so that brick of cheese on top was very difficult to handle. It was incredibly greasy, way more than any good pizza should be. Also our single pizza with 2 toppings was 20 bucks. That's a lot of dough for not so good pizza :[

I've been to the Commercial Street Padington's location lots of times, but I recently decided to mix it up and check out the "other" one. I was pleased to find the exact same taste and quality in the pizza. I usually get a pepperoni and sausage, or sometimes the Bandito, but this time I went with hot pepperoni and feta. Pizza was great although I will say this is the second time I've gotten the "hot" pepperoni and it tasted just like the regular stuff both times. I thought they just mixed up my order the first time, but apparently it's just not spicy. That and the fact that you can't get the Bandito as part of the lunch special are the only two disappointments I've ever had at Padington's. Speaking of the lunch special, that is such a great deal. For $5 you get a personal pizza (which is actually pretty good-sized and more like a small) and a soda. Their regular pizza is a bit pricy so the lunch special is a great way to go. This location has a lot better lighting and feel as compared to the other one. On the downside, the parking is pretty lousy. People complain about the parking at the Commercial Street location, but it's way worse here. But definitely worth it to get the best pizza I've ever had!

Very good pizza. I had a Western and my husband had a Humdinger. I wouldn't exactly call it "life-changing," but very good. The lunch special was a good value for the money. Very kid-friendly without being obnoxious. They gave both my kids balloons on sticks. I hate cartoon character places, and this was a refreshing change from the Chuckie Cheezes of the world. The decor was - well - let's just say I'm sure some people find it charming. Not my style, but I wasn't really there for the decor. Loved that it didn't have any video games! The service was excellent.

We ate here at the end of December 2010. The pizza was extremely bland (no flavor at all). The toppings were generous but not cooked through well. The crust had no flavor either. Orders are taken up at the counter. When the waitress brought us our pizzas we had to ask her for plates. She brought us very small paper plates. The decor is eerie and resembles a room in the movie, The Shining. Old photos everywhere, haunting light fixtures, very ancient carpeting. Didn't get a good vibe. Would not return.

By far the best pizza in Salem. And in the country in my experience. When I was going to college at Chemeketa my commute to Work and school was often disrupted by a visit to Padingtons for one of their ~$5 lunch size pizzas. My favorite being the Humdinger.

Pros: Excellent thin crust pizza Nice atmosphere for families (balloons for the kids is a nice touch) Prompt and friendly service Cons: Parking can be tight during the evening Lack of coupons or specials for the evening (there is a $5 special for lunch and a 10% off for over 62 years) If you enjoy New York style pizza, and are a fan of JC's and/or Wallery's, then I would recommend that you give Padingtons a try. Judge for yourself how the price and quality of their pizza compares to competitors in the area. I wasn't disappointed and will be back. At around 5:30 p.m. on a Wednesday I took my family for a large half Humdinger (Salami, pepperoni, mushrooms olives & lean beef) and half Whippersnapper (Canadian style bacon, pepperoni & lean beef) for $22.70. I phoned in our dine in order ahead of time and it came out of the oven just as we arrived. There was no line and we immediately paid and were seated. Staff was attentive and friendly. We opted for a pitcher of water this trip, and I have always loved their cold frosted mugs with ice. I also like how they offer pre-portioned salads for $2.95. I am a New York style pizza lover (thin crust) whereas my wife enjoys Chicago style (thick crust), but we both agree that this is excellent pizza. The thin and crunchy crust was light and golden brown. I enjoy their subtle sauce that is just on the sweet side. The toppings were generous although the mushrooms appeared to be the canned variety. They tasted fine to me, but that may bother some. I liked the peperoni which was cut slightly thicker than some competitors, and the Canadian bacon popped out as delightfully sweet. The lean beef was indeed lean and was a little smaller and drier than what I prefer, but it was fine for the combinations we ordered. The cheese was fresh and stringy, just the way I like it. The place is family friendly and I really liked how I was able to give my girls their balloons on the sticks. Drinks: They offer Pepsi products and I noticed that the better value is the 60 oz pitcher for $3 instead of the 32 oz pitcher for $2.50. The also offer sobe or frappachino for $1.50, or juices, coffee, milk, and iced tea for $1. There is a nice variety, so be sure to look at your options. For Microbrews I saw Black Butte Porter, Widmer, Bridge Port India Pale, Pyramid Hefeweizen, and Sam Adams on tap for $3.75 (glass), $8.25 (32 oz pitcher), and $10.75 (60 oz pitcher). For Domestics they had Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light, and MGD for $3.25 (glass), $7.25 (32 oz pitcher), and $9.25 (60 oz pitcher). They also offer wine and wine coolers (I didn't realize that people still drink the latter). Facilities: The parking area was fine, but it was very crowded when we arrived due to customers from businesses next door competing for parking spaces. The restrooms were clean and stocked. No complaints there. I like the fireplace and the western decor. The stained glass is a nice touch, and my girls loved looking at the old style chandeliers and old/western themed photos. I don't think I've seen fresh flowers in a vase before at a pizza place, but that was a nice touch too.

Best pizza in town but you'll pay for it too! Almost $22 for a Hawaiian on carry out, mind you! But really, this is GREAT pizza & I'm a fan!

Paddington's is one of the best pizza places in Salem. Any of the different combo's are great especially the meat lover's or the Hawaiian. There's a big screen tv, but there are a few places that are a little more out of the way. One thing they give little kids are balloons on plastic sticks or straws. Plus, great brews on tap in ice cold mugs.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...Let me start by saying that I have been to Padington's pizza a couple of times for birthdays and have always enjoyed the pizza. My coworkers and I eat lunch as a group one to two times a week and we decided to give Padington's Pizza a try. The line was about ten people long and we had already called our order in. We got in line and waited to pay like everyone else. One of the women behind the counter; early 40's, blond, medium height, bad attitude, brought an individual pizza up to the counter and called the person's name. The person came up, got their pizza, and sat down. Then she brought up another pizza and called out a name. It happened to be my name, but since I was in line still waiting to pay, I figured it was another person in the restaurant's pizza. Much to my embarrassment, she looked directly at me then very sarcastically and loudly says, "Uh, when I call your name you have to come get your pizza!" (add raised eyebrows, sarcastic tone, and snotty tilt of the head) anyone with disrespectful teenagers knows this look quite well. Not typically coming from a 40+ woman paid to "help" customers. I must have had a look of sheer shock and outrage on my face, because when I got to the counter she toned it down a little and explained that I could pay at a different register. As I took my pizza and sat down, I got plenty of comments from other customers on how rude, disrespectful, and uncalled for her reprimanding was. Let's just say I will not be suggesting Padington's pizza for anymore work outings and will be sure to inform my friends to stick to with Walery's pizza.

This is one of those places you just have to visit if you live in or around Salem, or are visiting. It may be a bit pricey, but definitely worth it if you ask me. Fresh ingredients and an excellent pizza dough/crust make this my all-time favorite pizza spot in Salem. I love the "Quickdraw" w/ mushrooms (which are canned - better texture than fresh mushrooms on this pizza)!

    (4)
  • Johanna R.

Greasy meat pizzas - not fresh options for veggie pizzas (everything tasted like a frozen pizza). Atmosphere was nice and open, not too loud or overly crowded. Short wait - almost reasonable price.

  • Katie T.

When my mom requested my aunt pick up pizza from a place they ordered last time my mom visited Salem, I was a little skeptical, given I lived in the NY tri-state are for 3 years and have had the best of the best pizza... But I was happily surprised. The crust was crisp and light. The veggie-ingredients on the pizza was fresh and although we had salami, sausage and pepperoni on it, it was not greasy one iota! I was amazed! We had take out, so yes, the pizza could have been warmer... Therefore not a full 5 stars.

    (4)
  • Jando S.

Its no secret the Padington's chain has such a high reputation for its pizzas, it most definitely reflects in the prices and sets the standard in Salem. It may taste like Wallery's but is far more expensive. The service is always decent, the delivery has been consistently on time and the pizza remains warm. This location has the better interior, which looks a lot like the other pizza joints in town, except its typically more packed with soccer families and children who enjoy the atmosphere. The pints of beer unfortunately are also spendy, making this place an occasional dining experience.

I love Paddington's pizza and I don't know why! They use an extremely thin cracker-like crust, which I usually don't like. They use canned mushrooms, which I usually don't like. If I had one of their pizzas sitting in front of me, I could probably name a few other things that I usually don't like. But, for some reason, when I'm eating their pizza, it's almost like crack. When all of those ingredients are a complete package, I can't eat it fast enough. I don't get it. Even if you like your pizza thick, you might want to still give them a try to see if you have the same reaction I do. My favorite pizza at Paddington's is The Humdinger, which is one of their combo pizzas.

    (4)
  • John H.

ok pizza. They separate the drink line from pizza line. Have no idea why they do that. They use canned mushrooms instead of fresh real mushrooms. Didn't taste too good and would not recommend
