Needs a 1/2 star. Really kind person on the phone and driver. But, wow. Do they not taste their product? It was the most plain and bland thing I have tried in a long time. Even putting some garlic powder, and oregano from home on it with some sea salt didn't improve it. To the owner why not invite family over and experiment with a new recipe for sauces and cheese providers too. Such a shame because I love supporting local, and gluten free providers. Do better please!

I have been ordering Vinnie's for years now and overall it has been an up and down experience. Sometimes the pizza is great and sometimes not so great.. I don't know why the inconsistancy. The one thing that I now do is order it with extra sauce. There is no extra charge for this. The price is great especailly with the discount coupon that they always seem to honor no matter what. Toppings are generous. The people are nice and the delivery is quick. Look. I get it. This pizza is not going to win any awards, but if you're on a budget and are looking for something basic Vinnie's delivers. Pun intended.

This was a huge disappointment. I like gourmet pizza, and if not, then Papa John's. But I was hoping being new to the neighborhood, there would be a good/decent local joint. Sad to say, this pizza was on par with the cardboard pizza in the grade school cafeteria. The crust is dense and soft, the cheese was like, globbed, and the "specialty" pizza i ordered with 5 toppings looked exactly lke the pepperoni. I found 2 bits of tomato on it - where are the other toppings?! The pepperonis are like the little ones on the cheapo fridge pizzas. The sauce flavor is not bad, though. For the price of these pizzas, I will head over to Signal Station or just downgrade to the nearest chain joint, unhappily. Oh - the delivery time was good, so thumbs up on that.

When you live in St Johns A LOT can be said for a place that will deliver to you. Vinnie's is the best- good pizza, excellent specials and FAST delivery!

I wish that my great food experiences gave me the same initiative to review as the poor ones but it's just not the case. New to this neighborhood we received a coupon in the mail for Vinnie's. Sure why not try it out maybe it's the best pizza joint around right? The service as far as the phone and delivery went was par. The real mudslide began when i opened the box. This pizza was dry, the dough was worse than laminated cardboard and i'm not entirely sure there was any sauce to speak of. It reminded me of my old school pizza or the really cut rate slices they sell you at roller skating rinks in the middle of nowhere. I would rather eat a frozen pizza than have to endure another pie from Vinnie's. I had a few slices because i was just so goddamn hungry at the time but the rest of the pie had to be stripped of its sausage and thrown into the backyard for the crows in the morning. Upon inspection the next day it looks like even the birds were smart enough to leave it alone after a few pecks. The good news is you can throw this food away and never buy it again. The bad news is someone actually made this recipe, ate it, and then sold it to other human beings thinking they would come back for more. If anyone is looking for a lucrative business to start up I hear they need at least mediocre pizza in St Johns.

I don't ever remember having a slice of pizza that tasted so bad I didn't want more. I love pizza. I'm not even particularly a snob about it. This was terrible. I mean, the service was friendly, and the delivery time was good, but I'd rather wait longer and eat something tasty! The salad we ordered was my first sign, I think. The white core of iceberg lettuce, heavy on the shredded (and not tasty) carrots, a few chunks of tomato, and a LOT of feta. And dressing in a pouch. But, it was edible. The pizza (the Pop-eye special) was not as much. The spinach tasted rather rancid - like it'd been left in the fridge too long. The crust was terrible. It's certainly not homemade. If it had sauce, I couldn't taste it between the nasty spinach & the crust. There was so much cheese, that you couldn't even see the rest of the pizza. I think this is the first time I've ever ordered pizza, and immediately recommended tossing the rest in the trash. I had high hopes - they deliver in my 'hood! But next time, I'll just suck it up & go pick up some Signal Station.

Where to start... Staff, this time friendly, a year ago...closed for 2 hours. Dude taking my order...supercool and friendly. Dude that was cooking now delivering...flip flops. Isn't that a healthcode violation? If your wanting to try it, call for delivery. Inside is quite dirty, but growing up I worked in a less than Intel quality clean room, so you slide. Pizza. Crust, very Boboli or store bought/made. Sauce was decent but in the background. Lots of cheese without being too greasy, sausage bagged, peperoni, there it is. The pizza was tolerable, and def not terrible. There wasn't a mad dash for the lue, and I didn't eat more than 2 slices. They cook on a brick which is always a plus. All in all, for what i paid, I paid too much, but I have to say, I don't feel jipped.

Good basic pizza at more than reasonable prices. Service is fast and friendly. Free delivery in the neighborhood. Great specials, so make sure to ask what the current deal is. There may be fancier pizza sold elsewhere in North Portland, but the only way to get a pizza for less dough than at Vinny's would be to bake it yourself.

Ordered a giant Stromboli for delivery. Lady taking the order was nice. Order arrived hot and within the 30-45 minute window that was promised, even though we do not live very close to the restaurant. Delivery man was friendly and liked my dog. The Stromboli was reasonably priced at $23, and darn affordable with the coupon on the back of the menu. Unfortunately the food was bland. Strangely bland for a dish that includes sausage & pepperoni. There was barely any sauce. I had to look closely inside to find some. The crust tasted like communion bread, probably an inexpensive frozen stock. There was lots of cheese, but that too was near-flavorless. I'm not too picky about pizza, and really wanted to find a new pizza delivery place to use. I just want something better than Dominoes or Pizza Hut, but Vinnie's Pizza is a large step below those big chains. I'm disappointed. I may try again if they do some changing and I see better reviews pop up.

I don't really know how to rate this place. I did try it due to the coupon; which was nice. I'm big on proportions. Right amount of bread, sauce, toppings. The pizza wasn't bad... I just didn't really enjoy it? The pizza was thick, which is fine, but it almost tasted like the pizza dough was from winco. The ingredients seemed fairly fatty and the cheese; although heavily topped, seemed low quality. The staff was friendly, the delivery was quick. The quality of the pizza will probably steer me clear of Vinnie's again.

I think these guys deserve better applause. I haven't had a bad experience and love how friendly, time accurate and good they are. I love to order delivery and love that they have gluten-free. Soon to come, dairy-free. St. John's needs these guys. They make a small town feel small town. Friendly and good pies!! Give them a chance everyone!! Thank you, Vinny

As far as gluten free pizza is concerned, this place is a guilty pleasure! The comfort food of a great pizza. if you're looking for 'healthy pizza' this isn't your spot but I loved it. great tasting and lots of cheese.

I am currently eating a re-heated piece of Vinnie's "USA" combo pizza. It's good the next day! Fast delivery, tasty pizza. Good crust, GREAT pepperoni, I would def order again. $15 for a large (with coupon!), free delivery too.

Sorry Vinnie's, I have never had a pizza that tasted so BAD. Thin, miserable crust, goopy, odd-flavored sauce (from a can?), slimy meat, and a mountain of cheap, flavorless cheese. How I managed to eat a second slice (or bite!) is strange, I must have been that hungry. I want to like you guys! I do! But your pizza makes me cry. Kick it up a notch! Bring in some freshness and flavor!!! Thanks.

I agree that in Saint John's, delivery pizza is a rare commodity. When Vinnie's opened last year, I was eager to try them out and hopeful that this would finally be what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the pizza was only mediocre, and the price was outlandish considering the size and quality of the pizza. I have paid that much for pizza before, but it was either a gourmet pizza with exotic toppings, or from a place like Pizza Hut or Dominos that charge out the nose anyway. This was just a medium one-topping pizza from a local, unimpressive place, and it was something like $14. Still looking for good delivery in Saint Johns.

I have a weird address due to a long ago property division. Vinnie's drivers can find my house even when UPS can't. Reliable and tasty pizza, nothing too fancy. Though they do have the stromboli pizza which has a top crust and satiates the carb monster in me.

I will admit I'm a pizza snob, but I'm from the east coast. I have standards. The pepperoni was terrible. The cheese had zero stringy-ness and was hard. The crust was hard, bland and I'm assuming came out of a box frozen. Sauce tasted like nothing. And it wasn't even that cheap! I wasn't expecting gourmet but sweet jesus I also wasn't expecting something that tastes worse than middle school cafeteria food. I want to like this place SO BAD because it's the only thing besides effing Domino's that delivers to me. So I hope for my sake that they get it together. And their sake. Because holy shit that is some awful pizza. One good thing-both the delivery guy and the girl who took my order were super nice.

Not a terrible pizza by any means. Went with a "supreme" type combo and it was delicious with balanced toppings and not too cheesy. Crust was decent but not great. Not really understanding heap of hate, unless I got pizza on a good day

Just like one reviewer put it ordering pizza from Vinnie's "has been an up and down experience," which is reflected in all the reviews. I walked by Vinnie's the other day and was intrigued by the building and that it was a pizza place. I didn't have time to stop, so tonight when I wanted pizza, I knew I wanted it to be from Vinnie's (besides how can you go wrong with ordering pizza from a place called Vinnie's??). The gentleman who took my order over the phone and the other gentleman who delivered the pizza were really personable and nice. The order was taken quickly and also delivered on time nice and piping hot. There was no option for what kind of crust to order, but it came on cracker-type crust, so score one there. Ingredients were piled up nicely but not to the point where they were spilling all over the place and there was a nice amount of cheese over the top. It could have used some more sauce (there just isn't enough sauce on anybody's pizzas these days), but I see from the review that you can order extra sauce - perfect! Delivery is free and the price was more than reasonable. Vinnie's also offers calzones, salads, chicken tenders, and various sodas. I had a great experience ordering pizza from Vinnie's this evening and will do it again because they met all my parameters for a good pizza and excellent customer service.

I see all the bad reviews but i must have gotten pizza when, like the good pizza chef (is that what they are called?) or during the right time of the day, our something. My pizza was delicious. They were on time, friendly, and (the biggest best thing of all) they deliver to my house!!! Only one other place does that and their pizza is horrible. So i would say that finding out about Vinnie's was my lucky day!!

I hate to give this place a bad review because our delivery guy seemed cool. I didn't think bad pizza even existed, but this was definitely BAD. we decided to try somewhere nearby and regretted it soon after realizing it had been an hour and a half since we made our delivery order. once the pizza arrived it not only looked like something you'd find at chucky cheese or from a microwave, but it tasted like that too. It was overpriced for the quality and was bland and honestly really gross for 20.00.

Maybe the worst pizza I've ever had. Bland, no taste, cardboard crust.

Pretty terrible pizza. The service was actually good, the guy was very friendly and accommodating to make my pizza half pepperoni and half hawaiian. However, the pizza quality was sub par....frozen would have been much better. The crust was a weird, crumbly texture. The pepperonis looked like they were from a lunchable. There was a huge amount of cheese covering everything but it was not good cheese, once again about lunchable quality. I read some of the reviews and decided to chance it, I highly recommend listening to my review--it is NOT worth trying this place out.

The delivery guy is friendly and the speed isn't bad. That being said... The taste is pretty on par with frozen pizza.
