Totally love Sparky's, best and cheapest pizza in the area!

I came to this location to give it another try because last visit l was ticked off, and it's close to my job. Today I had a slice of Hawaiian Pizza, they really don't have a selection of slices during lunch, but I decided to get a slice of anyway, plus the few choices they had remaining looked dry like it had been sitting. Once I got my slice, I immediately took off ALL the pineapples, it was way too much, it killed the taste of the pizza, and did not taste like pizza, it tasted like red sauce and pineapples. Someone need to learn how to make pizza because this was not it!

Wow! $50 minimum for pizza delivery! Never heard of a pizza place not do 1 pizza delivery! Read the reviews and I guess they were right about the service! The person on the phone was not really interested in helping. Did not even offer takeout, just left it at that. I guess we will never try them...

Food is good. Service not so great. Ordered for pickup food was not ready for pick up even though I arrived after the time they told me. Not to mention I was the only customer there at the time

This place is really top notch. Their customer service is what really brings gives this place 5 stars. Particularly a worker named Ellen who routinely gives me exceptional customer service every visit. The breadsticks are probably my favorite food item as well as the best value for $0.99. Their pizza selection is wide in variety and cooked and prepared to perfection. I really like this place lol. -Avery

Ordered a Hawaiian and a Mediterranean. Good price. The crust made me want to write this review. Great texture! Chewy yet still crispy. Yum! Will order there again soon.

Been a regular here for years but the service has been going downhill steadily. Called 45 minutes before they closed today on My way home only to be told they decided to shut down there kitchen for the evening and would not be taking any more orders. Very disappointed.

Who trains these people? Epic fail at customer service. We walk in and the place looks like a hurricane just blew through. A completely nasty mess! Ok, we look at the pizza...old and barely any choices. Still, the girl behind the counter hasn't even greeted us or made eye contact. Eventually says I'll be with you in just a second and starts counting tips! Seriously? We walked out & won't ever give a place with such low standards a second chance. Trashy

This place has gone downhill horribly. The pizza quality is terrible. I recently had to walk away from picking up an order because the quality of the product I saw in the box wasn't worth even half of what they were asking. The pizza we ordered was supposed to have extra cheese and I swear that half of the slices were less than half covered with it. They skimp on the toppings at the customer's expense. Honestly I used to be a fan. Now, we are better off ordering from some blasé chain restaurant than ordering from here. Never again Sparky's. Never.

Great selection of slices at lunch time. Best pizza in North Portland? I'm thinking it is.

Garlicky, buttery giant breadsticks and pizza by the huge slice for a good price--what's not to love?!

We were on a road trip and needed a quick bite to eat late at night. The staff was friendly and the pizza was good. our experience with Sparky's Pizza was "A-OK".

Absolutely love this pizza! Best schticks ever! Buttery garlic goodness with the perfect dough. My family and I used to live in Sandy and frequented that location. I was so happy when I moved to north east right by this location. It's small but nice atmosphere and cozy. The parking lot is a bit tricky but worth the yummy yummy pizza that always hits the spot for me. I recommend the Manhattan or now I think it's called a classic. Perfect toppings on perfect crust. Pizza by the slice is pretty good price too! Customer service was fast and friendly. I had Sparky's for lunch and I'm now lying in bed thinking about the next time I'll have this pizza.

Really, slow, bad service. Came in said hello and person just turned around and walked away. Reason, he was off from work. Pizza took 50 minutes.

Spark's Pizza at this location is good. It is off the highway and it's nice to find a pizza place in this neck of the woods. I do mean highway and then the woods to the north. It has fair prices, the type of gourmet pizza that is low priced but very well made, and there are seats. The service is quick. There's not much else to say.

With so many pizzerias charging upwards of $30 for a large pie nowadays, it was certainly refreshing to find a place where you can still get a big ol' 18 incher, loaded with toppings, for under $20. Enter Sparky's. The problem, as even the most rudimentary palette will quickly discover after a few bites of ones first slice o' Sparky Pie, is one of QC. The crust is gummy yet tough, and is quickly revealed to be a flaccid, soggy mess after extracting from the box. I've tried four different Sparky pies now, and the crusts on all of 'em, even their Margharita, tapped out like an amateur MMA fighter in his first big fight (and first quick loss). Time to pump the old breaks a little and give Sparky's some more credit where its due: I don't seek to give the impression it was all bad. Of the four pies tried, I thought their NYNY was particularly good, with plenty of meaty, porky toppings for an overall pleasing effect, managing to at least temporarily mask the disappointing situation w/the crust. Couple a' slices of that pizza pie will put the kibosh on most well-intended people's ambitions for the rest of the evening. In other news, the service was prompt but there was a funk of low morale about the place... I've worked too many places w/endemic low staff morale to be able to miss it when I now catch even a tiny whiff of it. Also, they only deliver for orders of $75 or more... you better be having a big party w/plenty of guests, b/c $75 buys you a whole bunch of this extravagantly mediocre fare. The hot wings seemed like a bargain at first @ about 6 bucks for a dozen, but they were a lifeless affair, and their take on "hot/spicy" would draw jeers from school children. Bottom line: there's tastier pizza options abounding in No Po these days, but you will probably pay significantly more for any of it. I'd spend money on ol' Sparky again, but I can't imagine anyone bragging them up to foodie friends or out-of-towners.

Not so great. Crust was okay but for $14, my pizza had almost zero toppings despite ordering sausage, basil, and roasted garlic. There was a total of 7 tiny shreds of basil, maybe a small handful of sausage and almost zero garlic. Parking is a pain as well.

Love 'em too much to ever exclude them from some Yelp lovin'. Oh Sparky's... your pizza, and particularly, your GARLIC TWISTS really revved me up, sparking a love affair I had with you for the while it lasted...I get nostalgic seeing the photos of my "neighborhood" Sparky's. I am indelicate with that term, for unfortunately, this location had no neighborhood to speak of at all (busy, trucking route with industrial feel all over). Hence, i would recommend the one further south on MLK, closer to NE Fremont, and newer as well. Sparky's has some wonderful, magical dough spell cast upon it... in fact, I had the opportunity to meet the young 20 something entrepreneur who opened this branch a few years ago.. He told me of his dream to own his own business, and the solid, wise steps to make it come to fruition. Their service is good, they're friendly, and they serve up wonderful slices! (it's truly the twists that got me all twisted in a knot of giddiness) They sell by the slice and occasionally have deals with coupons. In contrast to MI PIzza Pub, theirs is a thicker, more chewy, soft kind of dough, and puffier. The latter serves it larger, bit more crispy (though neither approximate NY-style.. hello to my local Gioia!!!!), and with more of the 'gourmet' toppings. S came through for me in pinches, when, bleary-eyed and in a full state of malaise, I had to stuff something down my throat before another 12 hour shift at Emanuel raised its premature head.

I use to go here all the time for lunch from my old job. Great place, love the staff and the food, lots of space, its busy and not too busy. I have seen people confused about the line and the way you order- and I also have seen people hog the spices and things like that, but thats not really the faults place. Been on dates here also and man they are really cheap drinks, and had a great time. And since its all ages to be inside you can hang with under 21 friends and still have a nice drink and not leave them entirely bored. I do wish they would jazz up the music however as the television station music is rather dragging.

---Weird Wave of Nostalgia--- The last time I was unemployed I came up with an affordable eating plan. Wait til trays of Stouffers Lasagna went on sale, buy one tray, bake it and eat a piece or two a day. That'd usually last me about a week, so it ended u

I saw this girl in the back tossing dough back and forth with her arms. When she walked to the front I asked if she had washed her arms. She flicked me off. I think I deserved it. I'll be back.

Very good pizza nice to be able to get it by the slice, good prices. Music could be turned down a bit but hey maybe that's cause I'm old, anyway one of our favorite places to go. Bryan F

I'd go another 1/2 star if I could. I mean what's not to love? Big slices dripping or dropping stuff all over if you don't know how to eat a NY slice. Being able to by a huge variety by the slice, a decent menu of pizzas and items to build your own. The slices we had the 1st time, damn near perfect. The take out pie the 2nd time...ok it was a little under done but I'm ok with that. The bread sticks? Down right fantastic! Could they improve, hell yes. But for my new neighborhood having a decent pizza place close by is a big thumbs up. I couldn't give the a full 5 or 4 stars because if I compare them to the places I love they fall short. Standing on their own identity though and they do A-OK. I'll definitely be back.

Sparky's has dee-licious pizza. I'll keep it simple. Good slices, good varieties (in both veggie and meat styles), decent Greek salad, and affordable prices. And, like another reviewer commented, it's nice to have somewhere in the neighborhood to pick up a quick bite to eat. The staff has always been super friendly and I guess I have to be thankful they don't deliver beyond business and $$$ orders otherwise I'd have an addiction going. It's not fair to really compare them to New York Pizza - I'd say Escape's is a bit closer, but who cares - it's good!

I stopped in here for lunch yesterday. Even at 1:45 they still had a bunch of slices ready to go and more coming out. Both of the slices of pizza I had were great. Pizza + a soda for $3.50? Yes please. I'll be visiting this place regularly. Note they only do delivery for larger orders.

For cheap slices, this is the place to be. Sparky's in my experience have all been consistent in food quality, but the staff changes dramatically. Here, they have always been friendly and quick. In my opinion there is fancy, authentic Italian pizza that you get at a trendy/fancy restaurant; and then there is under $2.00 slices that are cheesy and greasy. Sparky's is definitely in the second category. Whenever I want a cheap meal, I'm always happy to go to Sparky's.

I really. really want to love Sparky's, I do. But they have one problem that they keep repeating, and that is under cooking the pizza. I love a NY Style pizza (EFNY) is my #1 so judge from there- but my partner and I used to walk here from our place. We called a few times because once we got the pizza home there was no constitution to the crust. Talked my sister into it recently. Looked good, smelled great, spent $50. so they'd deliver, and the pizza was a big, doughy mess. Mid bite I remembered why we stopped calling Sparky's. If yer getting a slice, it can be fixed, when warmed in the oven. But for those who take the pie home, your heart will crumble when you lift that slice to your face and it falls, limply, dropping all the toppings and cheese into your lap. ....Oh yeah. THATS why we stopped going to Sparky's. When I lived by them, I called them and tried to give them the ability to make it better. But after all this time, fifty big ones so that they'd deliver, and a lap full of sausage, I'll pass.

this place has really REALLY good pizza! and if you order by the slice, its actually a decent size slice of pie. kinda bummed that they don't deliver. seriously, maybe i should be grateful, cuz its so cheap and good that i would probably eat it everyday if it came with the convenience of being delivered to my door. the interior decor of the place is very no frills. i probably would not eat in very often. not cuz its scuzzy or anything. its just small and cramped and its the type of place where an awkward group teens hang around presumably just passing the time by sitting on the table tops and making strained conversation with each other...kinda.

Excellent price, great pizza. I hope Sparky's doesn't go away in Salmon Creek because they offer the best quality/price ratio in Vancouver. They need signage on 134th so that people know they exist. I think that given the right marketing, they could do very well. The plain pepperoni was very good. Their sauce is excellent and the crust is very good as well. I wouldn't advertise Hormel pep like they do on their menu because that isn't enticing to potential customers although the pep tasted good. The greek salad with balsamic dressing was good although it was small. The bbq wings were great as well. No negative comments from my family of four. Everyone wants to go back.

For SINGLE SLICED pizza options, yes!! This is my number one favorite place. D E Licious! We live in Vancouver and drive to this Sparky's location to get our pizza fix. Always a great selection of hot, just out of the pizza oven options - even for meatless lovers like myself, they always have at least two great options for me. My husband likes the meat and he's always satisfied with his options! YUM, super tasty and that's why we keep returning. Great referral from our friend Craig! THANKS! AND, it's so reasonable priced!

I would give this place 3.5 stars, if it was allowed. My husband and I had lunch there today. 2 slices and two medium drinks came to $7. Not a bad deal! The pizza was pretty good; we both had the Margherita, which had fresh mozzarella and basil and tomatoes. The crust had a thin, crispy veneer on the bottom, but it would have been perfect if it had been rolled a little thinner. I also took a sausage and mushroom slice home for dinner, and that was real good. The service was good, though the kid behind the counter was a little confused, but eager to please. I will be ordering a pie one of these days. The proof is in the pie!

This a solid pizza place. As mentioned in a review for one of their other locations they say its New York pizza but it isn't. In this part of town my only options for close by pizza is well Pizza Hut (eww), so Sparky's was a welcome addition. The service has always been good and quick. They usually have a nice selection of pizza's to get a slice from. The bread sticks are buttery-garlic goodness. We order from them on Sunday's during football season a lot so my only complaint is that they don't open until noon on Sundays. It's not gourmet or east coast style but definitely a tasty option.

If you like pizza you will like Sparky's. Get lunch for only $2.50. A large slice of pizza and drink. $5.50 for two slices. They open at 11 am and get there early. Around 12 it starts to get packed and seating is limited.
