Very good food. They are not stingy with the toppings and the fries are great. They actually taste like real potatos. The chicken strips are also real chicken and it's good slices of unfatty breast. I've eaten at burgerville across the isle a few times and this smokes it. They was way better and actually resembled real food. Not to mention it was the same price if not cheaper than...

I came here and ate some fries. My companion had the chicken fingers, and it was less than $10 for the entire meal. They provided some honey mustard, and then an additional packet at no charge, which I thought was neat. It was mostly frequented by elderly people, but I actually found the fries to be pretty fantastic. Warm, crispy, and sprinkled with a generous amount of sea salt granules. I basically ate all of his fries, actually. NO REGRETS. We were here in the mid-afternoon (little before noon), so they weren't very busy. Maybe the quality of the food plummets throughout the day? But at that time, it was very good and pretty much hit the spot perfectly. Nothing inordinately special about it, nor nothing overtly negative to say. PROS: No additional charge for extra honey mustard. Food was hot and seasoned well. (Maybe too much seasoning for other people, but for me it was great.) Good portion size. Well priced, at under $10 for fries and some chicken fingers. Pretty comparable to the same meal outside of the airport. Sea salt was used on the fries. CONS: Uncomfortable seats.

This is my favorite breakfast stop. 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast for 5.99. Can't beat it in the airport. The same lady has been serving me in the early mornings for at least 4 years. The line moves fast and they seem to call your number quickly. So don't be scared of lines here.

First time I have been to Rose's Deli, in Concourse D, Portland International Airport. I ordered a Reuben Original, fruit cup, subbing pickle spears for sauerkraut ($12.99). I received a half corned-beef and half turkey, with pickle chips. It was a good sandwich -- I really liked the dark rye bread -- but wasn't what I had ordered. It was 2:22pm, and there was no line. I guess the kitchen just didn't read the order Kenneth had so laboriously typed in. Three Stars.

Even though I'm not a big fan of Reubens per se, I always end up getting one when I go to Rose's. It's a comfort thing, no doubt. This is a more stripped- down version of the Rose's of my youth (NW 23rd) but the essentials remain intact. It's nice to see a little piece of PDX hanging on out here at the airport. Although it's heyday has passed, it would have made the # PAF list back in them days of yore. In a nutshell: Pretty good sammies, I think the side dishes come off a truck and giant desserts. Pro Tip: do NOT go to PDX and try to pass security with a guitar string in your back pocket. Hilarity will fail to ensue.

My husband and I ate here in a connection through PDX. We had debated Beaches but didn't want to go outside security. The food was just ok although prices were good - Under $8 each for our meals. Nothing spectacular although staff was friendly.

This place was a find and a great alternative to packaged breakfast across the way in the airport. I was in the mood for eggs and the breakfast special with eggs and potatoes was quite nice. Cute little spot with lots of seating and a 50's-ish diner feel that was a welcome change from fast food. Worth going and checking out for some good food between flights. A little more than fast food, but not much and well worth the few dollars.

Rather chaotic there and not worth the bother. Order entered right, receipt was correct, but a totally diff side comes. Yeah I could have gone back in that mess and try to fight, but its easier to just forget it! The $7.99 sandwich is nothing at all special. Maybe you have to opt for the $11 something ones to get something good. To go orders should be given in a plastic bag...most were mine was not. Maybe since it was one sandwich you think we dont need one but if you carry it on a place its hard to carry that fold over paper container. It pops open easy. Some suggestions: Airport people are in a hurry. They often cant see the menu board in line. Put it on the wall to the left of those waiting. It would speed up order taking if they could be prepared. The menu board out front, PUT THE PRICES ON IT. There is such a thing as an erasable marker nowdays, get one and use it if you dont want permanent prices on the board. For the sandwiches that come with sides PUT THE SIDES UP THERE so the help doesnt have to repeat it over and over and over and over...this gets old and holds everyone up! Same with choice of bread...you hear it over and over and over while you wait!!! I'm going nuts listening to it and the help appears to be already nuts having to repeat it all day long day in and day out! Yelling out numbers and trying to repeat the breads and sides and all is too hard on the help. Their doing their best but its a mess. An order pick up spot would be so much better. Cut a hole in the wall by the condiments and coke machine if you have to to make room and speed up that line. A self order machine would serve you well. Portland folks for the most part are saavy enough to use such a thing. It would speed it up a lot! That would free up someone at the 2 order taking registers too and pay for the machine no doubt! It would also speed up the process. Grab and go is also a good idea. Lots of people just want something quick and cold sandwiches could be wrapped up in a box, pay and GO. You make people wait for something that could be waiting for them instead, and still be fresh enough. After all its cold bread and cold meat....keeps for HOURS. Plus if you do them early the ordered wont be messed up...(I hope). Or forget the side, make the sandwich bigger--like a sub, put the mayo/mustard/ napkins in and wrap it all up so they can grab and go without all the drama here. What you have now is too much chaos and yelling numbers in a crowd and messed up orders and someone should be more on top of the situation. It takes far too long for someone to get in and get out and you got to be loosing sales because of this. Smarten up!

When ever I fly thru PDX I try to schedule enough time in my layover so that I can come to rose"s . It is in the morning I pick up one of their cinnamon rolls, not too sweet but sticky with their delicious cinnamon caramel. Then if I am here during lunch or dinner I have to have one of their famous Ruben's. For breakfast there is a Starbucks for your coffee, and if you are having the Ruben then take it to go and go have a beer at the Rogue public house next door. Have fun and enjoying

Every once in a while, I get to travel for a couple days. Rose's was on my long list of places to try, so I stopped for a bite. Nothing will beat the real NYC deli experience. But at least now I don't have to travel to the other side of the country for a Reuben sandwich. Each of Rose's Reuben sandwiches weigh close to a pound, with your choice of pastrami, corned beef, or turkey. Three slices of extra dark rye bread here. While Rose's has several Reuben incarnations, I went with the Original ($12.99): corned beef and turkey, extra Swiss cheese, extra sauerkraut, and extra 1000 Island dressing. Now this was one awesome sandwich. Real corned beef and turkey piled in this still-piping-hot sandwich. Nice crunch and tang to the sauerkraut. Melted Swiss cheese and 1000 Island bring it all together. One of the best Reubens I've had to date. Sandwiches come with choice of fries, cole slaw, potato salad, or a bag of chips. I went with the cole slaw and enjoyed it. Great crunch, not heavy. I also had a couple of Rose's large cookies: oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip. Not sure how long they had been in the jar for. Certainly wasn't the freshest, but still good. I mean, come on. I pity anyone who doesn't like cookies. The panda can easily transform into a cookie monster. Other Reubens include the "Traditional" (corned beef); "Bronx" (pastrami); "Up Towner" (corned beef and pastrami); and "Rookie" (turkey). I'm intrigued by the "Rose City" sandwich, which can double as an awesome Thanksgiving option. Turkey, cream cheese, and a unique cranberry-mustard sauce between slices of sourdough bread. I'll have to check the Fisher's Landing location in Vancouver in the future. I hear the breakfasts and desserts are pretty good as well. Big fan of Rose's!

Rubber bacon. McDonalds hash browns Eggs ok. Nothing to write home about. Truly. Service was counter only... Number 15... Number 15... Number 15 your bacon and eggs are ready. Wished I waited just a bit longer for Rouge, right next door, to open.

I went for lunch and was quite impressed. After reading the reviews, I was torn on whether to go next door to rogue or to take a chance on this place. Rogue was crowded and I didn't really want to have to wait for a waiter to serve me. I had the chicken strips, which they made fresh and were quite good. Yes, it's a number system they use to call out when you're order is ready, but it's efficient and they have a great long booth bench where 10 people can sit and wait. This isn't a gourmet deli, it's airport food. And for airport food, it's 4 stars!

Rose's Restaurant and Bakery is a a Portland tradition serving fresh and delicious NY style deli and bakery items. They are located in Terminal D. I stopped here for breakfast and the egg sandwich was good. Also, I told them I was running late and they were able to get it to me in about 5-7 minutes. Nice people...I'd be back.

This was pretty much the only option for breakfast before a flight out of Terminal D. Opted for a bagel sandwich and it was, in a word, appalling. Bad bagel, bad egg, profoundly bad sausage. The sausage may have been severely undercooked. It also may have been sawdust. Clocking in at $9, I think that you have the right to expect an edible egg sandwich. Even in an airport. The fried hashbrown patty? Edible!

If you are in terminal D at PDX, and you are Hungary, this is definitely the place to stop. Great service, good food, and a big plateful at a good price! Make sure to try the omelet :)

Good omelette for dinner, but usually the cheese is inside the omelette rather one tiny slice melted on top of it. Hash browns were yummy and crispy. Efficient service and not at all warm.

I got breakfast here before a flight, it was a pretty good meal for an airport. SO I am comparing other airport food to this place not "outside in Portland" It was a great egg sandwich and filled me up. They also had it made in a few min so i wasn't waiting very long, and it was fresh to order which I love, not some microwave meal like some other chain coffee shops.. cough cough... i will definitely be back if i have another early flight!

I stopped in here while at the airport because normally their food is good and fairly well priced. I picked out some goodies for my order and was shocked to hear what it all came to. Was slightly embarassed because I didn't want to spend that much money and put some things back. Over all the munchies were tasty just a bit overpriced but that goes without saying, we are in the airport after all.

Cinnamon roll was delish. Person serving me was far from quick, but hey, it's Saturday morning, and they're probably hung over. That's a good excuse.

Roses has been the home of the best Ruben sandwich on the west coast for many years. The sandwiches are full or wonderful juicy pastrami, turkey a pile of crout, melted Swiss, and the perfect amount of thousand island spread all between two pieces of butter toasted dark rye. This is a must have sandwich when passing thru gates A-E in PDX.

A quick update after swinging by this year: I still enjoy the food, and it's still my required stop for food-to-go before boarding, but I was disappointed to find that the "nosh box" seemed no longer to be an option -- and I was here much earlier in the day this time around. All I grabbed was a sandwich to go for my cross-country trek, and it was large enough and filled with enough goodness to not need the side items, really.

The fitness scramble was great. It had enough food to feed two.

They were out of box lunches. Their menu board lacked basic info like what the bread, cheese, and toppings choices were. (A deli customer shouldn't have to ask what bread you have.) The chocolate chip cookie tasted so-so -- maybe cheap vanilla and/or chocolate? (Definitely shortening. Bleah.) The sandwich itself was fine, with fresh-tasting ingredients. The turkey tasted nicely like turkey, not that gelatin-laden cheap stuff. The people were nice and pretty efficient. Pricey like all airport food, but pretty good for what it was.

I rate this Rose's Restaurant higher than the location on NW 23rd Avenue because Rose's Restaurant is a nice choice in the airport. The food is hot and good and most importantly affordable, for airport food fare.
