Thank you Papa John's for giving me an upset stomach, which led to a fun day on the toilet!. WHY I'LL NEVER ORDER AGAIN FROM Papa John's: -Pizza tasted weird and gave me the runs. -Chicken wings were extremely dry. -$3.50 delivery charge... If you order a special stating it costs $19.99 then you add $3.50, then you add a tip, it equals way too much for crap pizza. *I do appreciate that I lost three pounds after a day toilet exercising.

While their pizza's are not as cheap as Domino's, they are walking distance to my house (versus a short drive) and taste better. They also send out coupons in the local flyer. I've never had a bad experience, but I was frustrated one night when they wouldn't sell me a pizza (the "Open" sign was still lit, their front door was still unlocked and it smelled like there was something in the oven - but they were probably in the process of closing up for the night). Normally, I'd just walk my patootie back home and cook something up - but it wasn't for me. There were 2 homeless women across the street, camped out at the bus stop for the night and I wanted to feed them something warm (versus a cold sandwich from home). However; the kids working the counter said they couldn't sell me anything even if they wanted too so I had to get in my car and drive to Safeway. That is really neither here nor there. I can't be mad, considering it might be policy not to sell pizza's after a specific time. I just don't like being told no. I will still buy my pizza and bread sticks from Papa John's - when I have a coupon and it isn't too rainy to walk over.

BEWARE! Worst pizza ever. Thin crust tastes like cardboard and is almost inedible. Not better ingredients. Not better pizza.

The staff are super friendly, but really don't care much for customer presence. Although I'm younger, I don't really find it cute to see someone goofing around on the job while I've been sitting there for 30 minutes already. At least pretending to look busy would be appreciated. Also, remembering to wash your hands after scratching your head...not just a quick one either. It really grossed me out, not gonna lie. The pizza was okay as usual. The only bad part about Papa John's pizza is they have the most bland crust ever. It's the only time I ever throw mine out. That's mainly why I avoid buying here...just wastes my money throwing out food. Otherwise, the store was clean. The drivers seemed to stay busy and maintain composure when customers were present.

If the Pizza was better, maybe I could deal with the bad customer service, but it's not... I won't order from here again.

I've had good experiences here a couple times but last night the nastiest pizza was delivered to our door. I give two stars because it got there on time. But it was a greasy mess that fell apart. Most of the crust was so thin and greasy I could poke my finger through it. 3 of the pieces didn't even have the topping I ordered. All I know is that whoever made it last night does not understand how to make pizza. Probably won't order from here again.

You know what to expect when ordering Papa John's. With that said we tried the spicy pulled pork pizza tonight. It was bomb! I'm sure the rest of their menu is as it has been for years, but try this pizza while they have it. Not gourmet, but pretty damn good for a $12 pie! Fast carry out & chill people working are worth a star alone.

Given the price, the speed, and the quality of this pizza, I'm usually very satisfied. Probably my favorite pizza chain. This location has never let me down and the employees are friendly. You can't beat their specials - the pizza market in Portland is dominated by high prices. If I've only got 10 bucks for pizza, this is my go-to place.

OH Papa John's when I'm drunk you're always a good idea. When sober the pizza tastes chemical weirdo. So I guess I'll see you the next time I'm shwayzeed. Love, Laura.

A hot holiday weekend led to a need for food but a strong desire to avoid cooking. Thus, I found myself ordering food online. I spotted a good deal and decided to order. What I wanted: fried chicken. What I ordered: bbq wings, cheesy bread sticks, and a pizza. i thought it would be nice to have extra food on hand when my boyfriend gets home, maybe leftovers for a few days. I fear that I've just wasted my $30. The wings were so fatty and almost all skin and bones....hardly any meat at all. Practically inedible. The 'cheesy' bread sticks were merely baked crust with what I think was a very thin sprinkling of parmesean cheese. How disappointing! When I want cheesy bread sticks, I'm looking for ooey, gooey pull-apart cheese. Mozzarella, maybe some provolone or cheddar for contrast. These breadsticks were NOT cheesy at all. Sadly, this was the best part of my meal. I ate 2 whole breadsticks with garlic sauce. The pizza I ordered was a 'chicken club' with black olives and light sauce. What I received was a chicken club with NO black olives, and regular sauce. Let's talk about sauce, shall we? Pizza sauce should be flavorful and garlicky. This 'sauce' if you can call it that, was like weak ketchup. It was bright red, no herbs could be seen, and it was kind of sweet, but lacked the strong flavor of ketchup. It was plain yet sweet. Luckily my order arrived with the ranch dressing that I asked for, along with a couple of containers of garlic sauce. If not for that, I'd have thrown the entire order in the garbage. As it is, I'm sitting here completely unsatisfied and frustrated. Maybe my boyfriend will eat it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edited to add: The wings were better the next day. I used my own ranch dressing mixed with bbq sauce, peeled the skin off of the wings, and just dipped the meat that I could scrape off of the bones. Not very appetizing, but quite tasty. My boyfriend happily ate everything else. LOL

My papa isn't named John (ARMANDO, for the WIN), but my family has always made bomb-ass pizza. Extra thick crust (this stuff ain' for wimps), light on the toppings (or heavy, depending on what you like), homemade sauce, and lots and lots of Pecorino Romano. If my papa were named John, I'd imagine he'd make pizza like the stuff you get at this place. Somewhere between Dominos and Schmizza, it's a far cry from gourmet (or the stuff we make from scratch), but it's a step above the quickie, pre-made $5 crap with congealed cheese and chewy pepperoni. And prices reflect this, too. The crust isn't thick, yet it isn't thin. Think...chewy but not soggy...and not too little so that toppings fall off. The obligatory ton of cheese on top of things like spinach and chicken and tomatoes. I'm guessing it's their version of fancy. But, they're pretty quick, and they deliver. This location, you can pick up the pies, but there's no eating there. So it's good for a last-minute meal, and goes well with something crispy and green...like salad. I ain't complainin', but nothing will compare to the REAL papa's shiznit. Now THAT'S Italian.

I'm not a big pizza fan. I can eat couple slices and then won't crave for it for weeks. Thank God for Papa John's. When the budget is tight and too cold to go out to the gourmet pizza place, I can always pick up the phone and have a booty call with papa. They always delivered my pizzas perfectly as requested. Thin crust, well done, Pepperoni pizza, check! Original crust, Alfredo sauce, Spicy sausage, double checks! Chocolate pastries for dessert, triple checks! Crushed hot peppers, quadruple checks! 30-45 minutes delivery time, on time check check check check check! They always have good promotion too and their online ordering is pretty easy and accurate. So when you need Italian booty call, make sure to call Papa!

3rd time we've ordered from this location, and the 3rd time they have promised a 30 minute delivery that has taken an hour. Have had a good experience with other PJ's locations, hence the 2 stars. They should just get their delivery drivers GPS.
