Yayyyyy for Oliver's!!! I live in Lents so I should give this place 5 stars just for being good eats within walking distance. But either way, Oliver's deserves a high rating. I see some other reviewers thinks it is too "safe" and gave it a low rating, but in this high-priced, organ-meat-is-cool world of Portlandia, I warmly welcome a place like Oliver's with good ol homestyle menu. Its exactly what I want for breakfast, not someplace that put odd flavors together, call it gourmet, charge you big bucks and to top it all off, act as if they are doing you a big favor to let you eat there. (you know who you are!!) And this is no greasy spoon either. They make their scones, muffins, cookies and biscuits in house and fresh, the food is tasty and filling and the decor of the cafe is downright beautiful. Service is very friendly and so far my wait for food has not been more than 10 mins. Oh and the prices are GREAT!! the breakfast standard of two eggs, home fries, toast or biscuit (take the biscuit, it is awesome!) AND your choice of ham, bacon or sausage is just $5!!! Yes, Five bucks!!! My only complaint is that the coffee could be better. I don't need expresso drinks, though I 'm sure a lot of other people would like that, but I would love if the drip coffee tasted better, which is the only reason I dropped one star.

I'll keep it simple. I've been looking for a good breakfast place for awhile. And I found it here. The Pancakes ARE TO DIE FOR! But if I died, i wouldn't have another chance to have their pancakes. Awesome Omelets. And the BACON! BAAAACON!

The vegetable omelet was great, fresh cut potatoes, yummy biscuit and at a good price. I talked to one of the owners and she said they are still tweaking their menu so I look forward to seeing what's to be....we need more good restaurants in our neighborhood.

I absolutely love this new place and recommend it to anyone. I tried their mushroom burger and it was amazing.... my favorite addicting dish at the moment is their southwest chicken wrap. My husband loves the pulled pork sandwich, gets it every time. The prices are unbeatable and very affordable. Wish they had more of these places around. Enjoyed the atmosphere, great menun and friendly staff. I am very picky when it comes to my food so i was very satisfied.

The breakfast burrito and the turkey melt with avocado was delicious! Can't wait to try more items

Ok, let's get real. I was here just after opening and it sucked. I was recently back, many months later. The food is average. The coffee still sucks. I know that the Lents neighborhood doesn't have much to offer so this place must seem like a dream. Also many of the enthusiastic commenters here are affiliated with the business upstairs. The insurance company upstairs happens to be owned by the owner's husband. Their employees often eat in Oliver's and have meetings there. I was privy to this information while dining there. I see a few of them here. I recognize their names and faces from my time there. Too funny. Of course that doesn't mean that they are being dishonest in their reviews. I would advise you to try it for yourself. OR...not!

We have been to Olivers twice and really enjoyed the food and service. The wait staff are very nice, efficient and helpful. We have four small children and it is a fun Saturday adventure to walk to Olivers for breakfast. We have all been happy with our meals, which are cooked quickly and with skill. We are fine with Olivers not taking huge risks in the kitchen. We love the menu and staff just the way they are.

Oliver's is an awesome, family friendly cafe with great staff and cooks! I love their homemade and fresh tasting menu, and they roast their own meats daily which is something that you really don't find in the typical cafe. They are very accommodating, and also do catering which I have utilized for a business meeting, much to everyone's satisfaction.

Decent food, decent prices but fast service. Was slow on this Friday morning I visited. Overall good value and pretty good food. Local owned Ma and Pa on Foster.

Burnt toast, worst Reuben my wife has ever had. Server never came back to check on us from when food was served until after we were done even though there were only two other tables. Cute place, substandard food.

  • Maria R.

The food was delicious . I ordered the meat lovers skillet but it was more like potato lovers skillet. It had more potatoes than meat but it was still really good . The biscuits are freshly made and melt in your mouth delish. The portions are big and filling. The only down side was our server, she took a while before she came by and took our order. She took too long to bring our check that after 10 minutes, I gave up and went up front for it and paid. And it wasn't even busy this morning...

This is one of the best places for breakfast in the Lents neighborhood. Their coffee is good and the food they they sell is well prepared. My favorite is Oliver's Omelet. Parking can be a challenge sometime but its worth the effort. Highly recommended!

  • Mercedes S.

I walked into an empty establishment, put my order in first, and got completely ignored for 45 minutes as I watched everyone who came in after me get served. Finally the waitress came to me and said that my order "never got put through" even though I heard her and the cook talk about the extra to go order that I had put through. I don't know who used to own this place, but they probably did a better job and that's why the rating is so high. But I'm still here, waiting for my free food now that the waitress had to re-take. There is a farmers market a block away from this place every Sunday from 10-3 and this is the one of two places people can go sit down and eat on this side of town. And yet, on Sunday when the tables are full they have one cook and one waitress. So obviously the owner is too cheap to hire appropriate staff because there is no "help wanted" sign on the window. I won't be coming back, until whatever inevitably takes its place.

  • Lana G.

We tried Oliver's for "breakfast" and lunch. Lana ordered French toast with bacon; she reported it was good overall and that the syrup was not just high fructose corn syrup dyed brown because it had some flavor. Roger ordered the Philly turkey sandwich, a cup of tea, and a salad with balsamic vinegar dressing. The salad was excellent. However, although the sandwich was stuffed with what should have been moist and flavorful ingredients, it was dry and flavorless. How dry and flavorless? Dunking it in catsup improved it markedly, but it still wasn't more than "meh."

  • Andrew A.

Not the cutest cafe or neighborhood, but my one experience was very good. I enjoyed the biscuit breakfast sandwich for $3.95, which is a deal. The biscuit was soft the way I like 'em, it didn't crumble with each bite. The pastry case was half empty at 9:30 a.m. The server, the daughter of the owner, was very friendly. Like many such places they lacked in the condiment selection: bland Cholula and Tabasco were the only hot sauces choices. Usually, such an experience warrants a 3 Star, but have a feeling the other food choices were equally good. Easy parking available.

  • Justin S.

We were greeted with smiles when we came in and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. Our food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. I had the stuffed french toast and it was one of the best I've had. It was packed with flavor and they weren't afraid to supply the fresh fruit. The place was nice and clean and we both left full and happy. What else could a person want from a breakfast.

  • Chris G.

Tucked away on a busy little street this place is awesome! I believe this is a new restaurant based off the building and never seeing it before whilst driving by frequently. I've been here a few times and everything I get is amazing and priced very cheap. The last time I went I got the breakfast burrito. It was huge and very inexpensive. It came with black beans. They needed a little seasoning but all in all quite yummy. My girlfriend got the French dip sandwich and she loved it. It too was portioned very well. Overall I definitely recommend this small little cafe to everyone looking for amazing food for a good deal.

  • Jonathan G.

Unremarkable. The place is well decorated with dark wood finished furniture. It's location shares walls with finance offices. The menus are limited with *standard* selection. It was typical eggs and toast, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I ordered an omelette. The pricing was humble. The coffee was below average. I can't call the place bad, but I don't have any reason to ever go back. No one in my party was impressed either. Hardly a good recommendation when compared to the robust brunch options in Portland.

Excellent food, good prices. Staff was friendly. Plenty of parking. The yelp app wants more words... we te with our 18 month old child and the crew allowed thw child to play with all the knives and operate the meat slicer. It was fun.

We decided to try this cafe on our way out of town. When we walked in, there were two groups of people waiting to be seated. I looked for a wait list, but there wasn't one. We waited 8 minutes before staff even acknowledged us or the people in front of us. There were two clean tables, and a table waiting to be bused. We were finally seated after 8 minutes. About 3 minutes later we still hadn't received menus or water. We were finally able to get our waiter's attention to request menus. He brought them and we ordered coffee. After 5 minutes of waiting for coffee, we finally gave up. There was absolutely no urgency visible in the staff. There was no customer service. It's too bad, because the food looked delicious. As we left, we walked past the family who was waiting in front of us and they also were sitting without menus or drinks. You would think they'd be prepared for your every day Sunday. But you'd think they'd definitely be prepared for Father's Day.

Wow! What a great breakfast! The reviews on Yelp weren't kidding! From the most delicious blueberry jam to thick and fluffy pancakes, to hash browns that are the real deal (crispy and soft), to eggs cooked to perfection and yes, I confess, a homemade cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting (for later), this was the most incredibly delicious, homestyle cooking place! I love that the meals are $4-7 or so, and the coffee is actually really good! What a great treat to find Oliver's Cafe! It's true; the atmosphere is an odd Italianate-kind of interior -- not really matching with the coziness of the food -- (a bit stark) -- but the friendliness of the service, the deliciousness of the food, and the great prices mean that we'll be back -- and soon!

Yikes. I went here with my boyfriend a few months ago and was very unimpressed. He had ordered the biscuits and gravy which was very bland and tasted like the gravy came from a can. The biscuits were extremely dry. My breakfast wasn't as bad seeing as I had ordered the standard eggs and sausage. I had ordered my eggs over easy and they came out medium, but I digress. The service was lackluster and I wasn't happy with the price since our breakfast was less than appetizing. Today though is what is making me give the two star review. I sent my boyfriend out for some breakfast again and we thought we'd give ol' Oliver's another try. He ordered two breakfast sandwiches and a cup of coffee. When he came back home with our order, we were both surprised to see that we had only gotten half a sandwich each and they were dripping in grease. I juuuust finished my sandwich and my stomach is already turning. No Bueno. When I called to ask why we only get a half sandwich the reply was "that's just how we make it." Yeah, I didn't know it was possible to suffer from a stomach ache and still be hungry at the same time. Peace out Oliver's. I don't think you'll be around much longer.

It is a pretty good neighborhood breakfast place. The food here is always good. The portion is plenty for one person. I really enjoy the way they make their omletes. but the coffee is very weak. Often I will buy a cup of coffee after having coffee there because it was like water. Price is about $9 for a breakfast meal.

just picked up a sandwich "Caesar wrap" The young man on the phone was friendly and he was in person. Good parking in front. The wrap was fresh with some nice chips and a pickle wedge. It was packaged nice and neat. This is a good American Business!!

So happy to find a good breakfast house in Lents! Oliver's came through with the clutch cargo. My wife got the NW Scramble with hash browns/toast and an order of oatmeal. The scramble was more than she could handle, so I had a couple bites. Yummmmm. The oatmeal was the real deal. Steel cut oats with brown sugar and cranberries on the side. Both dishes had great presentation. I had the Biscuits & Gravy Meal with eggs over easy, bacon & sausage. Gravy had sausage and was topped with paprika. De-lish. The dinning area was clean, bright and inviting. Wait staff was super friendly. So refreshing! We will be regulars for sure.

  • Liz R.

I stopped in for a bite, Low quality food at best! The toast was burnt all around and the eggs taste like they have been made from powder with minimal textural consistency. The interior decor is more visually pleasing than the food. I had the basic two eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast and apple juice for around $10.00.

I didn't know what to expect when my GPS led me to this little strip of storefronts on SE Foster. The place looked small, and I was concerned about the variety on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised. The place is very clean and the service was wonderful. My 14 year-old ordered the Baconcakes. In his words, they were RIDICULOUS! I ordered the Eggs Benedict (only available on Sunday). I have not been a fan of eggs benedict for many years due to too many disappointments. This was one of the best eggs benedicts I have eaten. The hollandaise was velvety smooth, and the Canadian bacon was smokey. Eggs were perfectly poached. I chose seasoned potatoes. I loved the small dice on the potatoes (like I do at home) and the seasoning with onions and peppers was near perfect. The coffee was good too. This is a bit out of the way for me in Milwaukie, but I will definitely be back!

I always tell people, just like you have a relationship with your dentist, or your insurance guy, you should have a relationship with your restaurant. Portland is not our home port, we're only here for a week, but this is our third trip to Oliver's. The staff is very friendly and the food is great, so rather than take a risk on an unknown, we built a relationship with Oliver's. I had the bacon pancakes every time, they're baconny and sweet, a little greasy but in a good way. Karalee had the biscuits and gravy, which she simply devoured. Both dishes are available in small and large sizes, the small being more than adequate with a split side of hash browns. The cafe is in an office-type building and, externally lacks a little of the Portland charm, and I find the coffee a little weak, but I tend toward strong coffee, so I won't hold it against them. If you're looking for a regular place, with consistently good food and very nice staff, I recommend building a relationship with Oliver's, you won't be disappointed.

We eat here occasionally for lunch as we work near by. Excellent food, love the wraps and sandwiches. Never tried a burger but I'm sure they're fantastic. BLTA with turkey is to die for. The turkey is actual turkey, not the pressed together turkey. Always friendly service.

Talk about overpriced food. Considering the building and ambiance, the prices should have been a lot cheaper. I had a small bowl of Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo for $17. No bread. No nothing except water and I'm surprised that they didn't charge for that. It started to rain and some terrible guitar playing singer moved inside. I couldn't wait to finish eating. With all other tables inside open except for one, a family of five was seated next to us. The small child was noisy and screamed when anyone tried to put her in the child seat at the table. My companion and I will never go back again.

My husband saw this cafe and wanted to try it out. We brought along our children as well. What I liked about the cafe is that it was nice and cozy without being cramped. The waitress was pleasant and our menu was already on the table for us to browse through. They have a great menu section without it being overwhelming. The kid's menu is very minimal. I actually preferred the limited menu because our children can take waaay too long to choose something. They ended up getting the pancakes (Mickey Mouse shaped with chocolate chips) with my daughter choosing a sausage patty and my son choose the bacon strips. My husband chose the Northwest scramble with diced potatoes and a homemade biscuit while I chose the California omelet with a side of pancakes. I really liked the flavor and size of the pancakes. The omelet was delicious and cheesy. I tried my husband's scramble and it was delicious, the eggs were slightly overcooked but not horribly. It was all around an enjoyable meal and atmosphere. It didn't stand out at all but it was still a great place to dine.

My running/walking group decided to meet here before/after our Memorial Day miles event. We met up and headed our for a few miles before coming back to enjoy breakfast. I had the small order of Oliver's Bacon Cakes which was two cakes (the large order is three). It was served with some cinnamon butter and syrup. They were exactly what I wanted. I ordered coffee and water and both were refilled promptly as needed. Our group had several adults and three kids. The kids were offered coloring pages and crayons which was a nice touch. Also the kids water glasses had lids/straws which is a great preventative measure for little hands. This was a great restaurant that I will definitely be back to enjoy soon!

Not terrible...but could be better. Went here based on Yelp reviews... The food was a little greasier than I'd hoped for...and the gravy is a little too sweet. Not bad, but not anything I'd go out of my way to have.

We went here for the first time today. Oliver's is in a new retail building on Foster. The space lacks the charm of an older building, but on the other hand it has a huge parking lot, nice landscaping, and great bathrooms. Both the food and the staff were very good. There was no wait to be seated at 9:00 Saturday morning. They had a big screen tv which was on unobtrusively across the room (spacious room). There was a mix of booths and tables and a case with fresh homemade pastries (I remember cinnamon rolls, strudels, muffins, and cookies). Best surprise: Great coffee. It's from Mt. Hood Roasters in Rhododendron, and it's flavorful and perfectly strong. I sometimes get my coffee elsewhere before going to breakfast because I don't want sad coffee. This is happy coffee. Second best surprise: real hash browns. They also have a seasoned potato/grilled pepper/onion option, but we both had hashbrowns. Very good biscuits. Every thing is made in-house. Good condiments, including Cholula and a tasty jam. Fresh avocado, perfectly cooked thick cut bacon, eggs prepared just right (we had an omelet and eggs over easy), etc. We enjoyed it and are glad we checked it out. We'll be back.

Came here as we were passing through the area based on the other reviews. Did NOT live up to the four star average. My husband had to go to the counter twice to get his coffee cup refilled (and he's not demanding when it comes to coffee, his cup sat empty for quite a while). The food was just okay. Eggs were very greasy, ham was dry and the rest was just fine. We waited and waited and waited for our ticket to pay and ended up having to go to the counter to get that as well. We will not be back.

If you like strong coffee this is your place. I had to put in 5 creamers and it still was to strong for me. I did love the bacon cakes. Very tasty and just the right about of salty to sweet.

A great little breakfast/lunch spot! It's clean and simple with great service. Seriously, these people are so friendly. Food is made fresh to order -even the fries, no heat lamps yay! Would definitely come back here next time i'm in the neighborhood.

Attention to detail, good service, good value, fresh made-from-scratch food and a relaxed experience will reward you when you go to Oliver's. I had a Reuben there and it ranks in the top 5 I've had in Portland, maybe number 3 or 4. Their breakfast menu is served all day and ranges from simple to unique. Their service is good, all the wait staff kept checking if we needed anything. Our food was served piping hot and tasty, I appreciate that. Good coffee too. All their portions are generous and you will not go away hungry. Thank you Yelpers for cluing me into Oliver's, I would have never gone there if not for Yelp.

Went here for breakfast with my sister on our first day of vacation. We immediately spied cinnamon rolls in the pastry case and knew we needed to try them. We ended up splitting a cinnamon roll and the California Omelette and both were absolutely delectable! They also split our omelette onto two plates for no extra charge (and I swear they gave us extra hash browns)! I would absolutely go here again!

  • Kirby S.

First of all, I like service with a smile. The staff here couldn't stop smiling, and this makes me smile. The service is outstanding: warm, inviting, helpful- and with a smile. Refreshing. The safe menu offers standard breakfast fare and burgers. My group all had breakfast. Ingredients are fresh and food is exactly as it should be and how you would expect, with nothing extra or over the top. Sometimes, simplicity is fine. The place is sparkling clean, too. I mention this because I normally don't notice these sorts of things, but definitely noticed here. Lents can be a destination, folks. Oliver's is a place to check out.

Service was excellent! The made me a fresh pot of decaf, swing by multiple time to check up on us and filled my cup at least three time. I should have asked what brand they served as it was one of the best tasting coffees I've had in years. I had the PacNW scrambled with home fried potatoes. She had eggs, sausage, english muffin, home fried potatoes and a tea. Generous portions and very filling. The potatoes weren't greasy at all - a simple, unique recipe with some green onions. Tab for two of us with a beverage was under $20 - very reasonable for the high quality food and service.

Given a choice between making out with Reese Witherspoon on a bed of clouds while angels sing "Wonderwall"... and these hash browns? I'm taking the hash browns every single time. Good, simple, honest food with no bs, friendly staff, all fresh.... I wish I could put this place in my suitcase when I fly home tomorrow. Go out of your way to eat here. (Even the music they play is top shelf!)

  • Bill S.

We love this place. Regular, honest food served by people who actually smile and seem to like working there. (There are NO snotty, frowny, tattooed and pierced goths on the waitstaff at Oliver's Cafe - Yay!) The food is very good, served hot, and priced moderately. There are a lot of more trendier, higher priced places in Portland that can't seem to get that right, so kudos to Oliver's for figuring out the most important things and doing them well. Pancakes are one of my favorite foods. So is bacon. Pancakes and bacon together is foodie Nirvana. Do yourself a big favor and eat here.

Just ate here for the first time this morning. Apparently in a carbo-loading mood I ordered the Short Stack of Bacon Pancakes and Biscuit and Gravy $9.45. Atmosphere is bright and open. I was greeted with a warm welcome. Seating myself I sneaked into the back at the only two-top booth. I would rather not take a four-top when a two-will do. Service was excellent. My server was genuinely smiling and willing to answer all questions before ordering. I was walking and while there was no place to tether my dog directly in front of the Cafe I was able to attach her leash to a bike rack only a couple doors down (Lents Town Center) that was placed in a nook with an overhang. Kept her out of the wind and dry. I walk by here often and kept telling myself that I ought to visit. Then, a couple of weeks ago some neighbors, independently of one another, recommended Oliver's. Well, I suppose I just had no choice. This morning was the right time. In no way was I going to cook this morning. I had fallen (stupidly missing the only step from my home into my garage.) After assessing the situation I got up and limped throughout my morning walk.. A bit bruised but, otherwise fine. I was grateful to know I could get breakfast nearby and very reasonably. Their menu is posted in their window for easy viewing. So, I already knew their prices were quite good. Bacon pancakes - Short Stack=2 rather large, well supplied, thick pancakes. The bits of bacon were more like large chunks quite visible without having to use any utensils to conduct a search for hidden bits. The pancakes were just a little tough. Though, I think that is mostly because the batter must be able to stand up to having to hold so many parts of well cooked bacon pieces. Though, the pancake was a smidge tough I had no problem cutting it with my fork. These came with a cinnamon butter. I thought that might be odd. So, I dabbed a bit on one pieced and decided I liked it. Then, I poured maple syrup over the top. Taste was good. Not great. Definitely good. I think the only real drawback was that the bacon, though quite thick, was a bit too salty. Maybe a maple smoked sweeter bacon would have sent me to the moon. I would still order them again. Certainly, the price was right. The biscuit took up most of the plate. Having been split in the kitchen each inner side was grilled to a perfect crunch. The sausage gravy had nice chunks. I admit I have been spoiled by my new Gravy Standard (Painted Lady Coffee Shop in Milwaukie) this was quite passable. The gravy was a little thinner than I like. I prefer it to nearly hold the fork up when I put it into the mix. It was again, very passable. The only real downside here was that there simply was not a lot of gravy for the massive size of biscuit. I think there should have been about one-fourth more volume of gravy to make the plate perfect. Oh, and the green color added by the green onion garnish they did not add to but, took away from the overall flavor in my view. My water glass never did hit empty. This is a sign of good service. My server unobtrusively swooped in, filled my glass, and exited without my knowing it about three times. My only indication of her being there was that my glass was magically full. Mind you this does not include the times she asked if there was anything more she could get for me. I ran across an elderly man I know from passing on our daily walks. He was having breakfast with his daughter. I happened across them as I walked to the front door to lean out and check on my dog (she was fine though, the look on her face was pitiful. How could I have abandoned her? And there of all places. A covered comfortable corner safely out of foot and car traffic.) As I walked back to my table I stopped and talked to my neighbors. They were already eating their eggs (his cooked perfectly over medium, hers not too hard scrambled) and crispy golden hash browns. I am afraid I do not recall what toast they had. Toast is really a nice addition but, in no way major. We spoke for a couple of minutes until I saw my food being put at my table. It was time to eat. All portions were sizable. Bring a hearty appetite and be prepared to go away stuffed or at least, with a go box. Which, as I noted a two-year old doing carrying her to-go box in her mouth with a smile all around it. Overall, I was pleased, and would definitely go back again.

The best burger in SE easy. Hand packed juicy goodness on a bun that doesn't get soggy. Did I mention the breakfast is excellent. Served till close.

Everything is solid and predictable: food, service, quality, decor. Prices are like 1950's or something...Cheap!! The omelet is tasty, bacon studded pancakes are decadent and the pastries to go are goooood!! Props to the proprietors for bringing good food to Lents! Thank you!

Best place for a nice cheap breakfast in SE Portland. I was excited to find a place that actually made good homemade biscuits and gravy. A must try if you're in the neighborhood!

The B+G sucks. Really disappointing considering there is not much else in the neighborhood and it would be nice to have a great mom+pops place to anchor some other business in the barren area. The biscuits were still doughy/raw in the middle with a overwhelming sweet taste to them. I can only guess why they are sweet, and its not good. The gravy, well its rather flavorless. I ordered the "home fries" with my food, expecting some cubed taters that had been cooked on the flat top. Eeeehhh, no. Their version is frozen french fries diced and cooked on the flat top, and mostly still raw, WTF? How do you even think those are home fried taters? They claim the food is prepared fresh every morning, i dont think so. I will go back again, to try a BLT, its hard to mess that up, but we will see.

Very well done breakfast. The feta omelet is very good as is the coffee. Will be back again. Note this is a very computer friendly joint with a power socket at each table, above the table and a socket for each chair at the counter.

This was my second breakfast. The last time my fiancee' and both got egg dishes. Hers had beans and avocado mine was bacon tomato and chives. She got the potatoes and liked them. I got a fruit bowl, it was fine. Today I got french toast and bacon. The bacon was done perfectly for my taste, crisp but not too crisp. The french toast was good, but nothing special. Would have been nice to have an option to upgrade to real maple syrup. The staff here are wonderful. Friendly, all smile and right on top of it with my coffee and water. I will be back.

Decent place and no stinking line for breakfast on a weekend. Service could be better though and they need butter or jam when they bring you toast.

Reliable, simple, and good, Oliver's is a convenient, friendly place to get breakfast in SE Portland. It's not Arleta Library nor Bar Carlo, but it's not trying to be. By keeping it simple, Oliver's manages to consistently deliver one of the better breakfasts available east of 82nd Avenue.

An amazing place for breakfast! Delicious scrambles, eggs, and hot cakes to die for. The biscuits are mediocre but the staff and modern decor ambiance make up for it. Service is unbeatable and food is very affordable. I loved it and will definitely be going back and bringing friends here. Cant wait to try dinner.

My husband and I went to Oliver's for breakfast this morning. We are so excited to find a place in our neighborhood with such delicious food and excellent service. No wait to be seated, and the food came out quickly and perfectly prepared. We will be back to try lunch very soon.

Very good and fresh. (First visit) Coffee was (not fresh). Breakfast and coffee and nice biscuit under $8. Kendall (sp) was very nice as she had to listen to my history comments concerning the music they had on. Ohum. Do come on over.

Called by name when I came in (from the second time). Kind and hard working folks serving and cooking up good food. Easy access and parking once you spot it, but easy to miss of you're hauling tail up Foster (hint: it's on the North side of the street just West of the 205 and right past the Foster/92nd mixer). Talk to the staff - they're excited to help you pick stuff out and even go off menu if you like something a certain way - the Mai Special, haha!!! Glad I found them and hope to be a regular.

There's been a change of ownership and the quality has gone downhill drastically. They've replaced pretty much all of the staff, including the talented lead cook and the awesome waitstaff. One of the cooks likes to belittle staff right in front of customers. My last meal was a Greek scramble. The eggs were burnt, the onions were both burnt and undercooked. There was no salt/seasoning. The hashbrowns were also soggy and the English muffin was stale. I had to wipe residue and food particles off all my utensils, and my subpar coffee also came in a dirty cup.

We were running an errand by Happy Valley and checked Help for places to go for brunch. Oliver's Cafe got a four-star rating out of 72 so, we came here. By the time we sat down and get our food, it took them 40 minutes. I ordered the veggie omelette and substituted with green bell peppers with spinach. My husband got the veggie breakfast burrito with avocado. The food was alright. Our waiter told us that the owner did not expect to have that many customers so it was only him and the owner were waiting tables. That explained the long wait and they haven't bus the tables. Their restroom though is clean. I don't think we'll go back here again even if we're in the neighborhood.

They're open at eight we went for breakfast the breakfast I would say is 3.8 out of five stars I did not like the sausage they used in the omelette that I had but everything else was fine I would definitely go again but at order bacon no sausage

I have to downgrade my review of this neighborhood restaurant based on our experience this morning. I wish I could give 3 1/2 stars. On the positive side, our biscuits were fresh and flaky, with gravy and served as a sandwich. My hash browns were nicely cooked with just enough crunchiness. Everything else was average, from the coffee, to the gravy and my sandwich. Sometimes when we are served food that is a little shy of seasoning, or a memorable flavor, I wonder if it's because they don't want to offend some patrons. This was our experience this morning. When we were served we had to remind them about the poached egg that had been asked for on the side. It came after a bit, but was not allowed to drain on a paper towel before being served, so there was water in the cup it was served in. That extra 10 seconds to dry the egg would have been appreciated. They were not swamped with customers but there was a steady stream coming in while we ate. We will be back with the hopes that the flavor and service improves.

Deliciously good breakfast! I asked if the Eggs Benedict were pretty darn good and I appreciated how the waiter was honest in saying he really didn't know how to compare them to others. Now they were pretty darn good, although not the best. My table party thought everything was wonderful! The high quality of the food, good service, location away from overly trendy neighborhoods, and the very short wait on a late Sunday morning will definitely entice me to make this a regular breakfast place. Thanks!

HOLY SNAPS. This was the best breakfast I've had in awhile. We both ordered something breakfasty with an extra bacon pancake on the side. I gobbled everything down so fast. Cinnamon butter is an easy idea but something I've literally never thought of. Cinnamon toast, cinnamon in coffee but cinnamon butter?? It's a bit off the grid but come check it out before it's an hour wait. It's that good and I feel it's inevitable. Private parking lot in the back. If you get to 92nd, you've gone too far. It's in the newer strip mall with the nail salon(? I think is what else is there?). Staff was friendly but don't go when you're in a hurry. Not sure if it's a new restaurant but it seemed like they were working out some kinks, training, etc. Still worth it!

The service is fairly friendly, and your food arrives in a timely manner. i'm not sure if there's a new directive to reduce coffee usage, but getting refills is a rarity. The food is average and the portions have gotten significantly smaller since i started going here. I used to be a regular, but i won't be anymore.

About 6 months ago I would've given this place 4 stars. Our server was sweet but not great at her job. The biggest con was that even though there were only a few other customers in the restaurant, our server never came to check on us during so we had to approach the counter for refills on coffee, more syrup and more menus. They have a new smaller breakfast menu now even though they are only open for breakfast and lunch. I love the bacon pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were skimpy and came w/ a tiny portion of scrambled egg and one little sausage patty. Probably won't go back unless I'm really craving bacon pancakes.

Fantastic food. Wonderful coffee. Awesome baked goods! And the cooks knows how to cook eggs properly!!!! (Sorry it's a huge pet peeve when my poached eggs are hard.) Portions are large, and the prices are fair. Definitely worth the money. Very clean establishment and friendly service. I recommend the breakfast sandwich or the biscuits and gravy.

Good and unique breakfast food with a nice variety of veggie options. The interior is unexpectedly comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely be back.
