NOTE: This review is for the pastries/sweet treats. Baklava ($1.75): Tons of phyllo layers, honey, and nuts. The right amount of sweetness. A good-sized piece for the money spent. Marina Bar ($1.50): Extremely moist and probably one of the best brownies I've ever had. It's basically a secret as to what goes in there, so I wouldn't bother asking. I'm sure one of the ingredients is panda kryptonite. I wonder how many Marina Bars I can eat before I get a sugar stroke. While I continue to ponder this one, head on over and grab one!

My friend and I went in today to grab something to drink and use the restroom. The older woman with the glasses would not get off the phone the entire time. I was going to get a chai but she continued with her personal conversation behind the counter. Finally I just settled on a bottle of water and when I approached her, she literally put her finger up for me to wait. She mouthed "it's a dollar" and I paid her and left. My friend didn't get anything at all, after the woman gave her an annoyed look. I can't imagine this kind of service is sustainable. There was nobody else in there.

The decor here is a bit dreary and I never see this place busy. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon on my way home for a coffee and grabbed a pastry (half cookie/half brownie? delicious!) This place gets three starsonly because my iced americano was suprisingly delicious. The service was meh, the pastry was fine but nothing worth writing home about(it did satisfy my chocolate craving). It was 2 o'clock on a Saturday, but the pastry selection was slim, the menu was unimpressive, and I just wasn't feeling the vibe there. I doubt I'll go back.

Basic coffee place. Lunch was had and we were satisfied. Not a lot of ambience but a simple place. Pastries looked good but we were in a hurry so we didn't try them. I'd come back to try coffee

Rarely are first time coffee shop visits one and done experiences, but I doubt I'll return here. The space is big and empty and far from a stay awhile ambiance. The coffee is low grade, but I'm a fan of McDonald's espresso so this was not meant as a coffee snob statement. It's just if I get low quality then I expect to pay proportionately. At first glance I'm thinking breakfast food heaven, but nothing was memorable. I'm surprised they've lasted this long, but more power to them if they have a fan base. I wish them well, we just didn't connect.

Come here if you are looking for a super down to earth, very low key, neighborhood spot. Its more minimalist midwestern than chic hipster Portland by any means. You will not be able to "people watch" here, but you'll make excellent headway on your philosophy essay or latest book. The owner is from Greece (I believe) and is incredibly sweet. You can tell that she built this place completely on her own from scratch (like her pastries!) w/o a fancy business loan or small business consultants...but her place has a lot of heart. I think what she is doing is really cool. Stop by and try her baklava or get a panini! Say hi! You might find yourself becoming one of her loyal customers.

I love this place! Had the veggie panini, it was full of delicious perfectly roasted veggies and it tasted very fresh. Had a tea and perhaps the most amazing cookie of life, all at a very reasonable price. The owner, Marina, is very sweet and friendly. The atmosphere is nice and calm, so this is a great place for lunch or to study. The pastries all looked very tasty, and there were lots of vegan options too. This place is hidden gem!!!

If you are running a coffee shop in Portland, using Boyd's Coffee - a low-cost flavorless restaurant coffee from the 1950s- is not a wise decision. I'm not a coffee snob, but it tasted like brown water. The place was empty when I arrived. Few food options.

Nice quiet place. Went with my daughter who is vegan. We both had vegan cakes and coffee. Enjoyed them both and the lady at the counter was very friendly!

I was really bummed. I thought this was gong to be my go-to breakfast place around the corner from my house. Instead, it's little more than a convenience store. The people are nice, and it's a nice place to sit and read with a cup of coffee, but they don't really have much in the way of food.

Paninis are very standard. They serve Boyd's coffee and you get a bag of chips with your panini ($4.75)-- Cool ranch doritos, nacho cheese doritos, and fritos. Guess if you lived right here and rode the bus it might be okay to duck into real quick, but beyond that sorry. The deserts looked like a childrens bake sale going on, nothing too impressive, the baklava pieces looked small. The lady working was very nice.

This cafe is great! I don't understand the catty reviews below, considering this business is a C A F E. They're not pretending to be a restaurant. If you're looking for coffee and free wifi in a friendly environment, then you'll love this spot. If you're looking for a big meal, then go to a restaurant, not a cafe.

I always stop by this relaxing cafe every time i visit Portland. I usually go for the vegetable panini, a mocha, and a baklava. The vegetable panini is delightful with the grilled vegetables and pesto working perfectly together. The baklava is absolutely amazing, it's flaky, nutty with just the perfect amount of sweetness tying it all together (the first time i had it i asked the owner where she got it and that is when i found out she makes the pastries from scratch). The mocha is always the perfect amount of espresso and chocolate. Highly recommend this cafe.
