Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

$12.59 for pizza that has been left out for hours and has no flavor. The service was great but the food just isn't worth it.

Izzys tonight failed to meet our expectations. Always has been above average in the past, but now? Must be new management, new cooks? I don't know what changed. But the cook took over 20 minutes to cook a steak, a little steak? We waited and finally asked where is the order? he informed us the grill was about to close in ten minutes and he never got our ticket for the order. BS. We probably wont go back for a real long time, besides they don't have the cod anymore. Very disappointing, bring back the old manager she rocked the place and so did the tall Hispanic dude, that guy could cook, he is gone apparently.

Pizza could of been better, at the salad bar, their tongs are in the ice that is in the salad nar and that is cross contamination. It also made me feel unwelcome, the waitresses had a bad addatude

This review is late in coming, as the wife and me have been coming here (and its other locations), for years. I will say from the start that it is so good, my wife and me had our wedding reception at Izzy's when they had a location on Macadam street. Other reviewers are correct, however, when they say the quality depends on when you visit. I've had some fantastic food when the place is busy (which I never enjoy, I prefer eating in restaurants when they are not busy), and dried out fare when they are not. This also apparently varies by location, however--the Macadam location never had this trouble. But, when the food is freshly made, it's excellent. I actually prefer their other foods over their pizza. The fried chicken is sublime, so are their potatoes. The grill that operates during dinner is a nice touch, as well, and was new to me the last time I visited. Whoever made the decision to have one of the televisions tuned to the Food Network is a wise person (eating food while watching food=food orgasm). The price is also more than fair, however, if you add a drink from the soda machine, that's a little pricey. This seems to be the norm with a lot of buffet places now, though. All in all, a great experience; I shall keep coming back.

Do you break and arm and a leg or visit sick ones just to experience the pleasures of hospital food? Have you become a "connoisseur", so much so , you critique HMO's and health plans based on their cafeteria's ? Well.....stop it! Izzys is in the palm of your hands, and all over your face and deep into your bowels, too. Why, I think they have even less flavour, and salt. (Good thing?) that can rival any hospital cafeteria in blandness. So stop jonesin' , and head over. $14 gets your fix. Kinda like a large scale "swansons" dinner with a crowd.

Found a hair in my macaroni and cheese 1 time. Let it go. The second time, I addressed the manager and showed him the hair. The response I got was "Ohh wowww, really?" The steak that I ordered from the grill could noy even be walked around to my table. It was literally handed to me from the buffet floor to the upper section.

Came here with my boyfriend for dinner and was really looking forward to something nice....Buffet was mostly empty and looking sad from no attention. waitress?what waitress? I found that it really depends on when you show up. Been here a few times during dinner and was very satisfied with our meal, that being said ate lunch here today at 2:30 and it must have been the leftovers from lunch rush. Pizza was hard and dried out.

I'm going 5 stars based on category! You can't rate a fast food joint against a steak house!!! It will alway be less stars! You have to rate based on category... So, I paid 7.99 for lunch buffet. That said it's probably the best 7.99 buffet I've ever had. Everything very clean, friendly staff, salad bar very fresh, hot food was hot. So compared to other restaurants like it. 5 stars... Don't be fooled by the "single" star ratings. Jack A's!!! For the money this place is t**s.

With every step towards their front door I mumbled, "don't do it, don't do it." 20 minutes later I was slamming my heal against my ass as that's my best impression of kicking myself. After nearly 200 Yelp reviews and a number of other resturants that I haven't rated, I quickly shout "Izzy's" (and Mummy's) when answering the question of who has the worst food. ...uh, there was ample parking and the server was nice. So .19 star for that.

I wish I had seen the yelp reviews before going here. I have heard other people say that Izzys wasn't so bad for a buffet. I saw sign that said they had prime rib on their menu and it prompted me to go in. I tried several items from the buffet. A few where okay but the rest were pretty bland. So what prompted me to go in was the prime rib. You had to order this from the counter by filling out a slip. I took a long time to get it. It was some slab of meat that they were slicing and then throwing on the girdle to heat up. It was tough, it smelt funny and just was plain awful, got sick to my stomach. I guess you get what you pay for. I was however expecting something at least halfway decent. Every time I go by and Izzys now I shutter and get flashbacks of the so called prime rib was. I will probably never go back to it as easy as I can't get over the stigma. The sad thing is if it weren't for the prime rib experience I probably would've gone back....

Why is everyone hating on Izzy's ?! I'm giving this place 3 stars because it wouldn't be fair giving it 4 because it definitely does not compare to some other 4 star establishments but I'd say it is average and average can be a good thing! They offer a basic selection of sodas that all restaurants usually have (coke, sprite, raspberry Nestea, etc.. ) All the contents on their salad bar basically consists of packaged foods, nothing is really that fresh except for the fruit. Their pizza has it's own station and you can pretty much find Hawaiian, BBQ chicken, flat bread veggie and pepperoni/meat pizzas on there, however you may request any type of pizza. Their main course bar has some variety, but everything is pretty much soaked in butter like the mash potatoes, garlic green beans, potato skins or cheesy bread pizza. Then there's the dessert bar which I never touch because they have an ice cream machine and getting ice cream on a cone is fun to do! Overall, It is what it is. I think why I enjoy Izzy's so much is because of the nostalgia effect! I use to eat Izzy's as a kid all the time and stuff my face with their unhealthy foods, but now that I'm 22 I still like to come back every once and awhile with friends or family; the only difference is I just eat less of the cheesy bread than before because I realized how bad it is for a person to consume. Ohhhh the cheesy bread!!!

  • D. E.

"Why is everyone hating on Izzy's ?!" I'll tell you why: it's filthy and the food is lousy. Once upon a time 20 or more years ago, their pizza was good. Now they are trying to be a buffet instead of a pizza parlor and very few items are okay. Even their grill menu is hit or miss. You can't please everybody. Why bother having so much variation in the menu? They are just overshooting what they could do best.

My husband and son love this place. I used to love the grilled steak. However, they have changed the cut of meat, or the supplier they get it from. What used to be very flavorful, juicy and melt in your mouth - has turned into hard and chewy, have to spit it out steak. Not impressed. Sorry to say, cause I really like this place. But to pay $46 for a Sunday brunch buffet and have food you can't even chew was not pleasant.

I used to go to the one in Clackamas for lunch quite often, but then it went downhill to the point I was glad it closed. This one, like the Clackamas location, and any restaurant for that matter, depends on who is back in the kitchen. When there is a cook who thinks that the longer in the oven the better then you probably have wasted your money. The pizza will be dry, forget about the BBQ'd or fried chicken (you will need a full glass of water just to get one piece down), and even the cinnamon rolls will be hard and not pleasant. Fortunately, this is not the norm, but it does happen. Otherwise the salad bar has enough offerings to complement most any meal, but if you are focused on just salad or soup then I'd head to Sweet Tomatoes. For about the same price this has several meat offerings and a significant variety of pizzas (you are free to request they make your favorite). Yes, just like most buffets this is not done to shrink your waistline, but if that is what you want why would you even venture into an all-you-can-eat? I leave here satisfied and full, and for the price of the lunch buffet it is very hard to beat.

I am a service snob not a foodie so take that before continuing. This is fast food meets buffet. For a buffet it's not bad, but for fast food quality it's a little spendy. There is a grille, but I never intend to partake as it has yet to offer me something I would want. Where the place shines is service. "But it's a buffet you say, what service" oh contrar my friend, go to a place that has poor service in their buffet then come here, it will be notable difference.

wors't izzy's pizza I ever had. so I had a soda it was suppose to have a root beer ensted ,3I got a pepsi I was soo dissapointted like god are you deff horroblle don't go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bye bye Carly age 9!!!!!!!!!!!! ^^I've created a Yelp enthusiast. She didn't mention salad because her idea of salad was a pile of bacon bits and sunflower seeds on a plate. Anyway I accompanied her and the food was awful. The salad was ruined by the aforementioned bacon bits which were stale. The pizzas were all dried out and flavorless. The other food didn't look like it was worth the extra $2. I'm not worried about the soda mix up. No she did not mouth off to the waitress that is not tolerated. I'm sure the waitstaff has to deal with enough already. But that food was just Blarf. Leaving a buffet still hungry is un-American. And when a 9 year old who thinks crappy school cafeteria pizza is heaven doesn't like the pizza at Izzy's, that's really not good.

I was actually amazed this location got such horrible reviews. The servers were super friendly, the restaurant was very clean and unscary for a buffet (which I usually avoid like the plague but I was starving and it was either here or fast food). I was actually pretty impressed - I ate a mound of fruit in the salad bar because it was so shockingly fresh and amazing. I was even surprized at their meat quality - it was a tasty little steak.Maybe I just came at a good time but I was expecting the worst and had a pretty good meal for a cheap price.

Since this restaurant was sold, the quality has gone way, way down. On our list visit (and I do mean LAST visit), the unit was clearly understaffed. The buffet area needed mopping, the bathroom was a filthy mess. On the hot food buffet, the potato rounds were so over-salted, they were uneatable. The green bean dish looked like it has been sitting out for hours -- and still, was uncooked, crunchy like celery. Sadly, the Salad Bar veggies were wilted and tired. I'm not sure where they're getting their chicken -- but they managed to find poultry with all bones, no meat. And, when en I asked for BBQ sauce -- there was none set out on the condiment table -- the "Chef/Grillmaster/Manager" grunted and sighed as if I was asking for a bar of gold. He finally got out a nearly empty 2-gallon jug and scraped a tablespoon into a dessert dish. The pizza was OK, but the pizza sat empty most of the time. It's as if the new owners/managers are content to ride on the "nameplate" they purchased and/or just don't have the cash to run it properly. Too bad.

I have been going to this Izzy's since I was a very young child. I have always loved their pizza. The buffet is pretty good too, although I'm told the spaghetti isn't good. I tend to stay away from pasta in buffets anyways since I dont like it unless it is freshly cooked. They have a good choice of desserts. Since they have added the grill, I enjoy them even more. When they first opened we had a large party of people their and the manager came and brought us 2 huge plates of all the different grill items for free to sample. The only bad thing I have to say is that something about their pizza crust recipe has changed over the years and its not as tasty as it used to be. Still good though.

I have been going to Izzy's for a long time and now I only go the Eastport Izzys. It's one of the cleanest restaraunts I've been to and I have noticed the same employee's have worked there for a long time. That say's a lot!! The quality of the food is excellent, with a wide variety and great taste, not bland like a lot of places. My favorite is the Sunday brunch... I always go for the freshly made waflles, covering them with strawberries and whipped cream. I'm a good cook and cant' make em like that. My son always goes for the freshly made omlettes, and biscuits and gravy then hits the pizza bar with a little desert. We love the new outdoor seating too and look forward to the warmer weather. You really shoud try this Izzy's...I think you'll love it as much as we do!!!! YES....it is worth the drive.

I just went to the one on SE 82nd near and powell blvd. I don't like to be negative, but it was not a very good experience. I arrived and went to the rest room before heading into the dining area. The restroom was not sanitary (men's). I believe it's the first time in my life I had to clean the bottom of my shoes before washing my hands for the finish. As far as the food , it was mediocre and an "in bulk" experience. If you don't care about the food you put in your body, this place would be fine to you. The server never came around to collect our dishes (a buffet). If you want a special experience, I would go somewhere else.

The Izzy's food here is barely passing to consider as real food. Everything looks reheated and came from frozen meals. There is also no variety of food whatsoever. Good thing the price was a somewhat of a good deal, but I didn't know they would charge us extra for drinks. The only reason Izzy's gets a 3 stars from me is because of the friendly service. The waitress is extremely nice and friendly.

***** This review is strictly for the carryout pizza ***** I don't care what anyone says about izzy's pizza. Let me tell you. I've grown up with this pizza my whole life and their pies are the shitz! I remember my parents always buying us izzy's for birthdays, holidays, weekends back in the day. Man, the pan crust is so money. The buttery oily crust! So oily in fact it seeps right through the pizza box itself.

The food quality has dropped considerably since our first visit two years ago. The puddings were more jell than flavor, the pizza was more grease than bread, the macaroni salad was overly salted and had too much vinegar and the food was just lower quality all over. I can't believe how far down it has come and I guess it is due to the economy. I hope when things improve, the food will return to the level it began at. Until then, this place has been nixed from our roster. Even if they cut the prices in half I would not return due to the lack of quality. Needless to say, our party of five all ended up with tummy aches after eating here.

After reading the other reviews, we approached Izzy's with guarded optimism, and we were so glad we tried it. Everything was very fresh and clean, and there were plenty of staff members replenishing the food and picking up dirty plates. Everything I tried was tasty, properly cooked, and the right temperature. The only reason I did not give 5 starts was that I would have liked a little more variety of food.

When I was a kid, I loved these buffet places. I perfected the art of the Graveyard: a splash of every fountain drink layered carefully in a single glass. The pizza is frightening, the buffet food almost equally so. The salad bar borders on passable. Kids love this place, and so do their parents. Parents can stuff the faces of their offspring for mere pennies on the dollar, until they age out at 12. This remains Izzy's niche market. Unless you are a big fan of the 12 and under set, save your dough and get Domino's to deliver. It's better and cheaper and no one will drop an ice cream sundae on your shoe.

the server's were kind and on the job which is so rare for a buffet but...the food is horrible.i went cause my son in law wanted to have all he could eat steak.most of their grill items are WAY too salty.everyone at the table had a hard time chocking down even a few bites of a rib.the pizza was all little bity ones that would have like one slice of pepperoni per and bad cheese with a thick crust and it seemed that they salted the pizza again after it came out of the oven. yuck. and serious lack of pizza variety. it only get worse from there. i'm not kidding the other items were just not edible.please save your 11.99d plus 2 buck for a soda.this chain needs to go by-by.

OMG...one word comes to mind "N-A-S-T-Y". I went to help someone celebrate for their birthday. They live not so far from this place. I could not get over the quality of the food or the kind of people that eat there. The people were like cows grazing stuffing their faces with their mouths needing a wet wipe or two. Another lady was blowing her nose right next to our table. I suppose it was too far for her to carry her fat a** to the bathroom like a lady to take care of that. So disgusting. If you eat at the salad bar, try the tomatoes. I've never had a tomato before with the consistency of a watermelon. Cut out the black parts though bec I don't think they're suppose to be there. If you don't place much emphasis on the quality of what you eat and you want a lot of 'food' for one set price of roughly $11.00 then this is the place for you.

Came here for lunch with a coupon for $6.49 per adult. Regular price was $8.99. They were short staffed but who needs a waitress at a buffet. Overall the food was ok. I don't think i would pay full price though. Service was very kind if you could get a hold of them. Add $1.99 for drink. kid's 3 years & under are free. Great pizza & large salad bar!

I should have known Izzy's on 82nd near Powell was not any good when I saw the parking lot was empty on a Sunday afternoon. Horrible experience! What happened to the old Izzy's that used to be so good. Everything looked great, but let me tell you looks are deceiving! Dry flavorless chicken, BBQ sauce on the chicken tasted like salsa mixed with grape jelly. The Ribs were boiled then stuck on the grill long enough to make grill marks, also no flavor and dry. The salad had a lot of brown lettuce and the cucumber salad was so awful tasting I couldn't swallow it. The pizza was okay but nothing special, I could have gotten frozen pizza to take home and have a better taste left in my mouth. My husband hated everything except the baked beans but who wants to pay over $11.00 to eat beans. Oh & the dessert....please the cinnamon rolls were nothing more than canned biscuits sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar then baked. Pineapple upside down cake was dry with no flavor at all of pineapple. Bad very bad!! Do yourself a favor, pass by Izzy's and go to Sizzler. They have a salad bar with much more than salad, chicken wings that are yummy, soups, onion rings, taco's & burritos & Yummy desserts. Sizzler is so good, so fresh, and so yummy, wish we had of gone there on Sunday instead. We will never ever go back to Izzy's. The people that rated them with 5 stars must not have good taste buds or they are employees. They don't even deserve one star but had to give them something so that I could type this warning out to anyone thinking about trying Izzy's. Don't do it!!!
