This is a gem of a neighborhood store. It's a trans-generational hang out with something for everybody. Some of the highlights include soft serve ice cream, a clean and fresh sandwich set-up, falafel, bathrooms, wi-fi, and cute yellow and black bistro tables. Ira himself is often at the helm keeping the food and beverage trains running on time, as Tri-met has failed the commuters outside his store again. Lots of local color. The guy next to me last time was doing some bookkeeping Beautiful Mind style. Whoa.

Great neighborhood stop. This random combo of convenience store + bakery/baked goods + deli is just perfect. Their gyros are yummy, they sell a few great [and again, random] local goods from fancy French pastries to feta cheese. They have a range of coffee drinks as well, also yum. Don't expect to pop in and grab something with lightening speed, but do expect friendly and chatty service and good food. Ira is the best, super chatty and likes to get to know his customers. They don't have much, but I'd rather support them than the Safeway up the street if I can. Even if I pop by once a month, he always stops to ask where I've been and how things are... even if he is in the middle of something. Gotta love 'em, gotta support the local business!

I freaking love Ira's! I work from home, about 6 blocks away. So, at least once a week I head down to grab lunch. In the last couple years they've cleaned this place up so much that now I actually stay and eat my lunch in the dining area. Everyone (especially Ira) is very friendly. The gyros are the best I've ever had. Deli sandwiches are awesome too! Plus, it's also a full convenience store with pretty much anything you'd find at any of the others.

This is a quick stop style place but with a nice deli inside. The place is clean, cute, & charming. It's a solid local business & ya gotta go local when ya can. Now it's no Pickle Barrel Deli (AK shout out!) but the handmade food is good - yes that is an obvious warning away from the deep fat fried stuff. Not the greatest food you've ever had but definitely good & they do their best to make you happy. Plus they bring in baked goods from places like Nuvire & other NW shops (bonus for me so I don't have to schlep down there). I say if you're in the area hit it up - plus they make pretty good coffee

I never thought I would gush about a corner store, but Ira's has earned it. They have a smallish selection of "convenience store" foods, but the fare they make in house is fall-down delicious 7 times out of 8, and merely unimpressive on the last. The staff is always infectiously friendly--I always walk out in a better mood than I started. And they are very much a "neighborhood" business, down to having a free buffet for a customer appreciation day. I count myself lucky to live in the same neighborhood as such a high-quality, reasonably-priced, ultra-friendly business.

I love this place. I love that there's a local alternative to the nearby Plaid Pantry and 7-11 for quick stops--knowing that it's not a corporate chain makes it totally worth paying the 45-50 cent fee for using a credit or debit card (probably the only downside to this place--except it's understandable given how much it costs small businesses to accept plastic payments) Ira is so friendly and always remembers me, no matter how long it's been since I've last seen him, which makes this really feel like a neighborhood mom and pop operation. In fact, everyone there is really friendly. And their food is pretty good, too.

Great deli and has a lot of selections. They offer a veggie gyro as well as other menu items like burgers and a garden burger, sandwiches, desserts, salads, etc.

You know that cliche movie scene where the store owner knows all of his customers, makes time to chat with with them and keep up on their lives, and goes out of his way to figure out how to make customers happy? That's Ira's in a nutshell.

Service was pretty quick and friendly. I had the Reuben sandwich, which was tasty. My only complaint is that for the portion size, the cost is a bit ridiculous. I paid 7.50 for a small sandwich and a tiny scoop of potato salad. It was delicious but for that price, and no chips or french fries or anything else, I'd probably go elsewhere.

I have to say, I am impressed with this neighborhood deli/convenience store. We originally came here because Baccis was closed (by 7pm?), and needed quick, affordable dinner. We decided to give Ira's a try. The place is bigger than you think. Friendly owners (a true mom and pop place), legit and fresh food, and also as a first impression, a gathering place for all the local kids, ppl on their lunch breaks, or students in the area. My friends ordered the meaty stuff and picked up a 6 pack along the way. I ordered their falafel, but they also have garden burgers for you veg heads out there. They also serve breakfast.

Love, love love this deli! I don't go as often as I'd like, but it's near home and guess what? BROASTER CHICKEN! I got some to-go the other day and waited the few minutes for it to come out of the fryer. Even when I got home, it was still piping hot and I definitely burnt my fingers trying to tear into it, but it was soooo worth it... Everyone there is super friendly and it makes you feel good knowing you're supporting a local establishment. Super clean inside and they have a good deli menu. Hot food, cold sandwiches, espresso and oh man, their desserts. They make all their pastries in house and they had this AMAZING strawberry cake.... *drools*. You can even get a to-go container of chicken alfredo or spaghetti for like $8 in their cooler and its enough for two meals or one if you're starving. They have lots to choose from in their coolers, but you can get almost anything made fresh at the counter in the back.

Great local deli. The owner and the staff are what makes this place. Thank you IRA for always being there and being good to your customers. I like giving money to the "non franchise" mom and pop shops. Check this place our for cooked food, convenience store food, video poker, beer, cigs, etc.
