I ate here for the first time and it was so very good. Lots of food. Can't wait to go back...!!!

Davidsons is a great, accessible restaurant perfect for all ages (from toddlers to the elderly). Their fish and chips are a must and I've enjoyed homey favorites there like grilled cheese and fries. Really, it's nothing fancy, but you'll leave satisfied :). THUMBS UP!

The place isn't much to look at.. The sign advertised family dining and eggs Benedict which intrigued me on a hungry Satursay morning after martial arts practice. Great basic food. My son opted for a burger which was well prepared. Good eggs Benedict which really surprised me. They have tex mex basics (burritos etc.) and breakfast all day. I'll go back.

Lovely diner/casual dining place. Stopped in here for a late breakfast while getting my car detailed at United Carwash. The ladies/waitress/hostess were all friendly, and the place has a nice vibe. Service was slow, and coffee didn't really get refilled in a timely manner. The coffee itself is the light roast easy drinking profile one expects in this sort of establishment. The food quantity to dollar ratio is high, and no way could I finish the meal. I had the ranchera omelette special with the verde sauce. Rich and tasty. The boxed hash browns were limp and blah, the English muffin ok. I'd come again if getting my car cleaned nearby or for some other errand. Clean and well lit. Well done!

My son and I's go to place on Sunday sometimes Saturday mornings. They know us and are very friendly. Good breakfasts and love that they have fresh squeezed orange juice!! That's the best part, in case you haven't heard.

For years I've started most mornings with breakfast at one place or another on my drive into work. Finding a spot that opens at 6:00 or earlier is not an easy task. Davidson's is my new (permanent?) favorite. Renee is here most mornings and is quick with coffee refills and pleasant to be around. The food comes quickly and is delicious, especially if you're a fan of crisp bacon. The coffee was included in my morning special ( most places won't pass up the opportunity to charge an extra $3 for that). I have no reason to ever go anywhere else. Gotta go, foods here!

I have been going to Davidson's since the early 70's and their food has always been consistant and a great place to go for sandwiches. However tonight will be our last. We ordered the baked ham and cheese sandwiches. They came on white bread ( supposed to be rye) so we complained and they did them over. The sandwich is usually piled high with ham and there were two very thin slices on our sandwiches! The other problem was the waitress never asked us if we wanted beverages.....just took our sandwich order and left. We left and went somewhere else for dessert. Very disappointed!

Listen, if you want some good old fashioned diner style food this is the place to go. Don't go to Elmer's, don't go to Shari's, come here! They have the same great buttermilk pancakes as The original Pancake house, and offer a pretty killer chicken fried steak. In the evenings they have classics like pot roast and they offer a variety of sandwiches both hot and cold for the lunch hour. They also make a solid cherry pie and offer specials year round for seasonal favorites like apple and pumpkin.

Your standard American diner. It was exactly what I was expecting so they get an extra star for that! Food was good, hot, and came quick. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. Nothing to write home about but I also have exactly 0 complaints! Keep it up!

Went here on a whim, my dad. Looks like you classic diner, and is. Food was sub par. I ordered a Denver omelet with a biscuit and hash browns. The biscuit turned out to be an old hamburger bun while the hash browns were room temperature in the middle. Luckily the omelet was cooked thoroughly and hot. If you want a good breakfast, these biscuits will fail you.

Davidson's Casual Dining serves the very best of American cafe food. This cozy little dining establishment is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Davidson's is reminiscent of a time when American cafes truly cared about the quality of their food. The interior is homey and comfortable. The service is all smiles and super quick. You ask for something and it arrives at your table almost instantaneously. Haven't experienced this kind of service in years. Davidson's Casual Dining is not an inexpensive restaurant but it isn't super expensive either. Many dinner specials are offered for around $10. The menu is large and offers something for just about everyone. Some recommendations are: the Old Fashioned Burger (large patty, juicy, and delicious), the home fries, the deep fried halibut (not at all greasy), the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries, and the marionberry pie. Davidson's serves a good New England clam chowder but in my opinion it needed a little more seasoning. Added some salt and pepper and the chowder was fine. Unfortunately we're quickly losing restaurants like Davidson's Casual Dining. Hope Davidson's holds it's ground on Highway 99 in Tigard. Long live Davidson's Casual Dining and the wonderful American Cafe!

Food is ok a little over priced for what you get but the real problem was the slow as in 26 minutes from the time we sat down to get our order taken This happened why only one other table was used. They brought us a piece of frozen pie from the freezer so not sure how fresh everything is??

It's been a while since I've been there but it's a nice little place. The place itself isn't big at all but it always seems full all the time even past peek hours. Went to the Davidson's with my mom. I ordered the spinich omlet with fruit and whole wheat toast. My mom, she ordered the BLT with salad. For the price it was worth I thought it was just a wee bit expensive. The spinich was fresh for my omlet but the BLT, was little dissapointed. The lettece is all shreaded and not the typical lettece leaf. In my opinion I think it looks better with a leaf, but that's my opinion. The salad was a little brown but still edible. It wasn't fresh but again...still edible. The service of this place was pretty good. I liked the server, she was every helpful to what we wanted. It was service with a smile. A place worth going to. It wasn't greasy and the people there are nice. Very clean place and the atmosphere was pretty good.

Adorable little diner with the best root beer floats yet. Their menu seems endless, and their special seasonal dessert deals ($1 strawberry shortcake, 50 cents for an apple pie. etc.) are hard to beat. The service is warm and homey, and it is also awesome that they hire from the local high school. Glad to have this diner in my neighborhood!

My home away from home!! Been gobbling it down here for YEARS now!! So dependable and I cannot think of anytime I was not satisfied. This is the mainstay we bring out of town visitors to! EVERYTHING is good and well thought out. Even the Mexican. Try the Chicken Chilie Verde Enchilada. Tender breast meat smothered in their delicious sauce.. MMmmmm!! Even their chips and dip are good.. Get the warm bean sauce with the chips. The rice and beans are real clean, and the bite of Polenta at the end is sweet. I've recommended the Club sandwich to many just to see it work like quicksand. They wade in all happy and excited to then find themselves up to their neck in goodness. Keep a rope handy to pull them out though. I've only seen a couple make it all the way through to the other side. The Hot Turkey (get it to go, they'll package seperately so no soggy) sandwich was my Mom's favorite. She'd sit quietly over on the side chewing with this beatific smile on her face dipping into the REAL mashed potatoes & gravy, but don't get your fingers TOO close, she'd snap'em off like a Pit Bull! Breakfast??? Tip-Top all the way around ('cept maybe the Ham Steak), and do NOT miss the freshly squeezed OJ... Right ON!!!! The waitstaff is absolutely superior and don't miss getting a coupla chocolate chip cookies or a Cinnamon Roll as you check out. Use your receipt for a discount at the car wash in the parking lot. Now go home and take a nap yew mean widdew kid, and rest up so you can come back for the Dinner Special. The Swedish Meatballs for one will have you talking like the Muppets' Swedish Chef : "First you take der Boom-Boom, den you choots der Duck!!" Have fun gang!! P.S.~ONLY reason I don't put 5 stars? 'Cuz I wanna appear "Tuff"..... P.S.S.~Hey!!! WAITASECOND!!! "I" am one-a those "OLD GUYS" now!!! Thank GAWD my ~tastebuds~ still work, you whippersnappers!! PSsss~ Never have had a burger here.. 'Ya Dingbat Kid!! Go to Dick's Kitchen or 5 guys fer THAT... You poor misbegotten Uth!!! Then again, get some cojones and think outside the box: Get a burger with mustard, pickle, a BIG ASS tomato slice, maybe some cheese, and a sloshing of Davidson's "Coney" sauce (like chili) and you'll be OK Lad...

So as many other reviewers already mentioned, it seems like a middle of the road independent Shari's or Denny's from the 1980s. But the service was good and the halibut fish was excellent. The clam chowder was also real good. So no complaints. Only went because we had a gift certificate. Not close to my house and not really on the way to anywhere I go, but I would go back if the opportunity presented itself.

I like this place a lot. The service is some of the best in town! Our waitress was very friendly and our water was always filled to the top. The homemade rootbeer is very refreshing. My favorite part of my meal was the clam chowder, thick and creamy. I had the hot turkey sandwich and for a place that has so many delicious baked goods, I think they used wonder bread for my sandwich. Also the mashed potatoes reminded me of instant mashed. I tried my boyfriend's chicken fried steak and it was very tough. My friend had the pot roast and liked it but the gravy was a little salty. I gave it three stars with the service being great and the food average.

Davidson's could get 4 stars. Here's how they can roll up their sleeves and get the ol' Yelp ticker moving. My 3 star honors goes to places that are pretty good, but can be hit and miss. That's exactly what you have here. 2 pieces of Halibut and sides for $10? The Halibut was actually quality fish in a great breading, easily rivaling Corbett/Hawth Fish Houses. Yet the dish was served with house made slaw, but run of the mill potatoes that tasted previously frozen. That's what you get here, beyond decent food brought down by short cuts. I had an incredible piece of buttermilk fried chicken, but it was served with what tasted like instant gravy on instant mashed potatoes. Sad, because again the cornbread was perfect whether it was from scratch or a mix. If the place was a touch cleaner, a little more attention to detail in the ingredients, it would be top notch 4 star material in no time. For this part of town, I live nearby, I was fully surprised with how good the food was. Just a couple refreshed approaches and I would happily spread the word.

Been eating here for more then 30 years, recently took my mom back here for lunch after many years away and she said it was pretty much the way she remembered it from her childhood save the new paint, booths and a few minor menu changes. We love the clam chowder in a bread bowl with salad. Very filling. Burgers can be hit and miss, but more often a hit. Best homemade root beer around, don't pass it up! Definitely a quiet old folks type diner, hence some blander menu options, but we always get great service and feel right at home here.

Just moving to the area, i have always wanted to find a place to have breakfast at. I am very spoiled since before I moved, I have had the best breakfast place in my opinion to go to. The food was OK, nothing to make you run or go to it. The service was minimal at best. I took my son into here and our server Renee told me that the kids meal came with a free drink. My son was satisfied with water but what were the options for the drinks as I didn't get to that on the menu. She started naming a large option of drinks including OJ. My son wanted OJ and so she brought it. When the bill came I was charged for the OJ. I brought it up to their attention and they asked Renee and she said that the OJ is a more expensive menu item so it wasn't included. I asked why she would have said it was included with the kids menu then and she said, well it costs more then others and walked off. I don't think I will be going back. The style of food isn't what i am into a lot and the service leaves something to be lacking. i will continue to try and find a breakfast place but this place won't be it.

Ate here earlier this year and just now picking up the review draft. It was good - the soup was merely okay, as was the chicken; the fajitas and corn bread were good; the banana malt was amazing. I really liked the family atmosphere and comfortable feeling of the restaurant. We don't make it up that way often, but I'll drop back in when it's handy.

My wife and I go every friday for dinner. She loves the beef stroganoff and navy bean soup. I love the halibut with a big slice of their homemade corn bread. Or the patty melt..makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The only thing I really dont like is the mashed potatoes remind me of the ones in a swanson frozen tv dinner. Even their mexican food is off the hook. Then i wash it all down with a glass or two of their homemade root beer. Give them a try you wont be dissapointed.

I am sometimes in the mood for great cuisine and at other times I want to indulge my need for good, greasy badness. Davidson's has no rival when it comes to the latter. Their hash browns are always crispy, their eggs are always cooked as ordered, and their meats are all recognizable. If you're looking for the American diner experience, you've found it.

1.95 for coffee, 5 star price for 2.5 star restaurant. (not even stumptown)Please to whom ever the manager is, don't reprimand the employees in front the customers bad for business. The next customers will get crappy service changes the atmosphere. Wait until their shift is over. I know I've waited tables before and never did my manger do anything like that ever. Good soup and halibut fish and chips. So do come anyway :)

This is one of our favorite goto places. Best Patty Melt and home frys around. The chinese chicken salad is a must try and the cornbread is just the best. They make awesome homemade root beer that goes perfect with any meal. If you love good halibut fish and chips, you just got to try Davidson's.

This is diner food. Not a bad choice. I read a review on Mr. Breakfast.com and had to try this place. Unfortunately, I was craving eggs, and they stopped serving breakfast at 11:30 on weekdays. I will be back to try breakfast. I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for good breakfast places. I arrived around 2 pm, and this restaurant was a little less than half full. I noticed quickly it is a favorite for the senior folk. We could choose our own seating, and I took a single booth. Wait staff was very friendly, and most patrons were regulars. The staff knew several older customers and immediately greeted them with their beverages of choice, and no menus were needed. Davidson's has daily specials, a nice selection of sandwiches and hot plates, and they make their own root beer. I will be back to try it, I am a big root beer fan. I looked over their breakfasts. I was surprised because previous reviews stated there was a Mexican flavor to the menu, but I could not really spot a trend. There were two dishes with salsa and guacamole, but hardly enough to call this a trend. I really expected at least one breakfast dish (or more) with chorizo, but none on the menu. I ordered a turkey club with tater tots and a vanilla shake. The shake came out in the aluminum mixer cup, and I was given a plastic mug which already had some other liquid in it. I had it replaced, and the bus boy meticulously checked the next mug, which had a chip in the rim. The shake was nice and thick, and sweet. The sandwich was good, no complaints. Overall, the place was like most diners. Still has a good, family, homemade feel inside, so it's worth skipping Denny's or Village Inn. Breakfast review to come...

Everyone will find something they like at Davidsons! One of the best things on the lunch/dinner menu is the Hailbut Fish and Chips. This isn't typically what I would order at a diner, however it was recommended that I give it a try, and I was VERY impressed! It was actually better than some fish and chips I have paid big bucks for at the beach. Additionally, they make an excellent Chinese chicken salad with generous portions of white meat chicken mixed in, and a fantastic dressing which I think is homemade. There are some Mexican food choices on the menu as well. My husband ordered the chicken burrito, and it was good too. The diner has a local feel to it, (with lots of regular customers) and they commonly feature "in season" specialty items like fresh strawberry or peach waffles, and 25cent seasonal pie! Overall, it's a nice little diner, and you definitely won't leave hungry!

Davidsons is great old time casual dining. They make a mean breakfast but the real highlight is their halibut fish and chips for lunch or dinner.

We went for breakfast and the portion sizes were huge, but pretty standard and safe stuff. The we went for lunch. A retro kind of place for lunch bowls of chili, stew, clam chowder with corn bread. Very reasonable tasty and filling. The hot dogs are amazing, who would have thought? Service inconsistent. Seemed to be two types of service one for the regulars and then other people like me. Slow and sullen.

The fat kid does NOT approve. I hit this place up to bum some quarters once for the car wash. It didn't look interesting at the time, but I asked the waitress inside if she thought it was good. She told me they were pretty good and I should give it a chance. So I stopped by with my girlfriend. Anyways, I like to judge a restaurant on it's ability to cook a meal I couldn't easily do myself, and I definitely better not be able to do a better job. This place really dropped the ball. My girlfriend ordered a simple omlette with hashbrowns, and I ordered biscuits and sausage gravy. The Omelette was basic, and not seasoned, but she liked it so I can't complain much. The hashbrowns were miserable. The cooks didn't even add seasoning salt or anything. it was just fried potatoes. It was as bland as it could get, and probably came from some frozen back of pre-made hasbrowns. The biscuits and gravy was a disgrace. This place should be ashamed to serve it. First off, you gotta cook up some sausage to put in your sausage gravy. Making generic gravy from a box and adding in diced up frozen breakfast sausage links does not a sausage gravy make. The biscuit was nice and fluffy, but a bit bland in itself. Honestly, this place really boofed the booch. I'd rather go to Denny's PS: If there were an option under ambience for "retirement home bound" that'd be the vibe.

  • Lisa R.

Very good service even with how busy they are. The owner was very nice. The chocolate silk pie is amazing. Simple and decadent. It's on a home made gram cracker crust and large enough that you can save some for later. They also had very good burgers. Give this place a shot they have delicious food and .22 cent pies on selected flavors.

  • Jennifer H.

This place is great. House made... almost everything including the root beer! Had the fajita's (on the servers recommendation) they were great. As good or better than most of the Mexican places I have eaten. Salsa was freshly made in house, not greasy... YUM. breakfast was good too. Skip Biscuits and got to Davidson's!

2 Reasons to Enjoy This Place: 1. I've had a lot of fish and chips in my time, but they are by far the best. Weird, right? They even beat out Pacific Seafood's restaurant in Newport. Crispy, large squares of fish with lots of fries. Yes. 2. The 25 cent pie twice a year, of course. I'm sure there are more, but I've yet to figure them out.

My husband and I decided to try Davidsons for the first time this morning. We've lived just a few miles away for a few years now. Instead of going to one of our normal breakfast places we decided to give Davidsons a go. IT WAS A HORRIBLE IDEA. First off its Tuesday and the restaurant was not all that busy like you would expect for a Tuesday morning/early afternoon. It seemed alright at first. We where sat right away at a nice enough table and although it was not all that busy we waited 15 minuets for someone to even come to our table and ask if we wanted something besides water to drink and that someone was the host that sat us. Finally we ordered our food and received our drinks. After another more standard wait for the food to be cooked we received our breakfast. I ordered the Cinnamon roll French Toast with 1 Egg and sausage and My husband got the breakfast burito. Let's just say that the food was not up to par. My french toast tasted stale and old and I was not a happy camper. After the long wait and the subpar food all I wanted to do was leave. I didn't give them a second chance to make something else because my husband was not impressed by his meal eaither. The only hilight to this place in my opinion is the Home brewed Root beer by far it was the best thing I tasted at this place.

This place is a solid "A-OK." This place is stuck a few decades in the past but that does not make it bad. It's a solid choice for a semi-quick meal with family and friends. I was surprised at how busy it was at 2pm on a Sunday. Soup is made from scratch daily and you can tell. Not too salty and and a good consistency. Sandwiches are not creative but they don't skimp on meat and the bread is VERY fresh. I left very happy from my meal. My mom was very impressed with the Burrito. Service was very nice which added to the feel of the family-friendly restaurant. Summary: family style restaurant serving up comfort food favorites. Notes: accessible entrance, level entry

Love this place! Everything is made fresh from scratch and the soups are amazing! I used to work here and I still come in to eat. That's saying something! Stephanie is so gracious and amazing. Also Betto has the finest ass I have ever seen on a man. Just saying.

Had their lunch meatloaf- pretty bad! It was served lukewarm to begin with, but it tasted like it was a frozen TV Dinner. Just keep going if you pass this place- you're not missing anything.

This is our favorite Tigard restaurant. The food is always good and for the most part the service is good too. Our favorite is either their fish and chips, club sandwich or the oriental chicken salad. During the early summer their homemade raspberry pie is crazy good but they sell out of it a lot.

5/17/2014, Update I have not been to this Restaurant in about 3 years now. It was the pick for family breakfast, so we all converged. Mom is in a wheelchair and on 02, I called the night before and they took a reservation even though they normally don't for breakfast. That was kind of them. Breakfast, we were seated in the room adjacent to the cashier. Initially the gal who sat us had a sour look on her face and was not very friendly. We sat in the room for quite some time till our Waitress came into work at 9:00. Once she arrived our morning got a whole bunch better. She was super sweet and very attentive, had a Hawaiian flower behind her ear. Super awesome Waitress! I, like an idiot, tried the Chicken Fried Streak, it was not the worst I have ever had but it was not very good. Eggs were fine; however the toast was oddly dry even after I buttered it. The coffee is absolutely terrible. It was OK, that's about it, and I would not go back unless I had to. Five big stars for the Waitress tho, loved her!

Davidson's decor is really dated. The food was good, tho 10-15% high in price in my opinion. The service was acceptable. Wish they could've gotten rid of the flies that pestered us in the rather small dining room. The 1$ special strawberry shortcake was a funny joke. The parking lot is shared by a self serve car wash & jiffy lube. On the fence to whether we'll return. It was just okay

We are having the week from hell. So, we're eating out a lot. This Saturday morning we had to be Allstate in Tigard at 8am for the adjuster to look at our crunched fender, then we had to get my dad's meds from Costco at 9:30 because the hospital called them in to the wrong pharmacy after he discharged ( hubby waited in line at Aloha for too long to only to find this out),then we had to take our sick old cat to the vet. And our home PC crashed as in gone, kaput. Hubby is inconsolable. We were already tired by 9 am. Did I mention it was a long week? Comfort breakfast? Tigard? Davidson's. Poached eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast for me. Cinnamon roll french toast with eggs and bacon for him. Fine mostly (bacon not yummy, couldnt figure it out, flat and hard but not crispy salty or greasy....alien bacon!)and reasonably fast. Coffee?well, not awesome. Although the second cup from a new pot was better than the first cup. Davidson's is one of those comfy familiar old timey places. It is not trendy or precious or hipster. Certainly it is not fancy. On this day it filled a need. And in February they have 22 cent cherry pie.Sweet! I don't even eat pie and wouldn't even choose cherry, but that feels awesome, kinda like a good grandma hug.

We came here in the middle of the day for an early supper. We make it a point to go here every year specifically for their world famous, seasonal only pumpkin pancakes.....ok maybe not world famous ....but portland metro area famous. The best in the area. Pumpkin pancakes with a gingerbread undertone. YUM! For me, 4 large pumpkin pancakes, a side of sausage and an egg and a cup of coffee. Mr. mr. got 4 large pumpkin pancakes and potato wedges and coffee. It should be noted that on the menu that it says that they have home fries. These are wedges and not home fries. Just FYI. a side of real maple syrup was added to our order too. The bill came to $29.00 and some change. A bit pricy for breakfast food. The table service was really friendly and super nice. The hostess or whoever was at the front register should learn to say hello! Not ignore patrons when they enter. Just because you are not the server and will not seat the patron does not mean that one should not make eye contact and be courteous. As per the sign on the door, a liquor license for this place is in the works. They are also known in the area for things you probably wouldn't suspect, their Mexican offerings, fish, and homemade root beer. We have had their Mexican and it is quite good. They also have specials on pie though out the year. I can't wait to get another order of the pumpkin pancakes before they are done for the season. Davidson's serving up a slice of good ol' Americana down home cooking.

This place is basically Denny's with a false moustache. I think if you are under 40 you have to sit at the little plastic kid's picnic table (kidding). Good for breakfast but otherwise I think the fare would tend to appeal to the 50-plus crowd. The food's fine; your basic american eats. If you need a little comfort (food), stop on by.

We went there on St. Patrick's Day for their Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner as we have for many years. However, at 6:00 p.m. they were OUT!!! This was a big disappointment and I would be hesitant to go there again for the same thing. I guess they were ill prepared to say the least. The second choice of meal was okay but certainly not anything spectacular.

My husband and I came in for breakfast, it was my first time there. I ordered the breakfast of two eggs, homefries, toast and coffee for $5. It was really busy in there. The service was friendly. Breakfast with coffee for two including tip for $20, yes please.

We walked in to Davidson's for dinner and we realized we were the youngest customers there. Somehow we like to dine where old folks are partying it up. We got seated right away and we explored their pretty large menu. They serve your standard American grubs, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, soups, salads, and even Mexican? I'm not sure why they have Mexican food where House of Tamales & Sanchez Taqueria about two blocks away. We got couple sandwiches, a cup of clam chowder, and their homemade Root Beer float. OooOooh how I loveee their homemade Root beer float. It's refreshing and not too sweet. I wasn't too crazy with my fish sandwich, but the Clam chowder was pretty delicious. Service was excellent, very friendly ladies work there. We will be back and next time we will try breakfast grubs :).

My family and I moved to the Tualatin-Tigard area about 16 years ago, and one of the first "discoveries" we made for family dining (on a friend's recommendation) was Davidson's. That first impression was a good one, and they've done a fine job since. We continue to revisit from time to time because it's a pleasant place to eat, the service (unless the tables are packed) is prompt, and the food is wholesome and well-prepared. I'm pleased to recommend it to others.

Hadn't been here in many years. Went the other night and ordered a shredded beef burrito supreme. Gotta just say it was pretty awesome. Staff was very nice and very attentive to make sure everything was as it should be. Thought about ordering the halibut, but it was pretty pricey. Four piece fish & chips dinner was $24.95. Burrito and coke was only $12 and a heckuva deal at that.

The only good thing about Davidson's is the root beer. Surprising that it's owned by the same folks who own Tom's Country Kitchen in Beaverton, because the difference between the two establishments is dramatic. Davidson's food is just BAD and there's no other way to put it. I don't know who the people are that gave this place such high reviews (maybe the staff). After giving them another try for breakfast just recently(because Elmer's was too long to wait), I was reminded why I stopped eating there. The spinach and Swiss omlette I ordered actually had mozerella, rather than Swiss cheese ( if you thought no one would notice, think again...mozerella is not a melting cheese, so it was just hard and chewy), making my omlette barely edible. Toast was cold and dry (do you make up 200 slices in advance and then let them sit under a heat lamp until an unsuspecting customer orders toast?). My friend's omlette with country gravy was cold and the gravy was flavorless. In fact, nothing had ANY flavor at all. I realize this place caters to the senior crowd, but as a senior myself, I beg you people to PUT SOME SEASONING IN YOUR FOOD. The coffee also had no flavor ( like hot, brown water). The side of pancakes I ordered was okay, but would have been better if the butter wasn't rock hard and of sufficient quantity (about 2 teaspoons for 3 cakes...why skimp on butter--an essential for pancakes?). The other issue is that the place seems very poorly managed. There is not an iota of efficiency, as the staff are all bumping into each other. People trying to check out are crowded out by those waiting to be seated. A host was running around, but not focused on priorities (I.e., seating people, making sure tables are cleared, etc). Tables are way too close together and it's difficult to even get up from your chair, without knocking over someone. The fact that it's always busy there is not so much a testament to the quality of the food as the location. If someone put a decent restaurant across the street, I doubt whether that Davidson's would stay in business.

Went here before a play over at Broadway Rose Theater a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't expecting it to be the kind of place it was when I arrived. When I looked it up on the internet it looked more like tiny diner type place instead of what it was. It seemed closer to a Sharis /Dennys but more close to home cookin. I've been in places like this before, but not in this kind of location. I know the food was good and I ate every bit of it. I was able to find something as well as my gluten senitive friend. I had this amazing Mexican omlet. Yum.. I would go back if in this area again, but I'm on the other side of town.. so unforutately.. can't go as much as I would like. If you haven't been- you need to.

Food is really average, small portions and bland. Two stars instead of one because turkey noodle soup was really good. Had the fish sandwich with no dressing, fish was skimpy sandwich was mostly bread and shredded lettuce served with a sliver of a pickle smaller than a gherkin. Disappointing, service was fair at best. Very dismal ambiance. If you want diner food go down the street to Elmer's...service and food much better.

We have been here a few times, usually for breakfast but recently we went in for dinner. I really wanted to like this place but it just seems like they don't care. The night we went it was reasonably busy but there were plenty of empty tables and booths but we still stood at the cash register for a few minutes while several waitresses walked right past us. One even made eye contact and kept going. Once we got seated (about three inches away from the people next to us) I cruised the menu to find something to eat. I settled on the Hot Turkey Sandwich. My wife had the Waffle with Bacon and Eggs. When the food came out the disappointment continued. My "Hot Turkey Sandwich" was a single slice of wonder bread, a pile of compressed turkey lunch meat smothered in a brown gravy that had to have been from a packet or a jar. It had NO flavor. I RARELY have to add salt and pepper to my food and i had to use the shakers twice. I was hoping the mashed potatoes might salvage the dish but wow, they were terrible....Lumpy, watery, no flavor, zero seasoning. Davidsons has the clientele...but i am not sure if they even want to make good food.
