I'm so confused by the reviews for this place. First off, I love holes in the wall. I always find the best food in locations as such. But this place? The horchata was just straight milk, the chips and salsa are just chips, they ran out of rice and instead of saying anything or substituting for something they simply didn't put it on the plate. My enchiladas were foul. They were dry and the sauce was straight up pizza sauce. My mind couldn't handle what was happening. It looked like Mexican food but tasted like bad Italian. What a dump, I'm sorry. Disappointed would be the understatement of the year. All (8) reviews are either relatives or friends of the owners 100%. I'd bet my last dollar. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE - or say "F $@!, she told us so."

Very Good Mexican! Little Gile in the wall off of Foster. Looks family run. Try the enchilada's they are delicious. The 1.50 fish taco's are to die for!

Hand clapped tortillas, hur aches made from scratch (it's a flat extended sope) with all the best flavors, add some red sauce they have readily available if in case you enjoy hot and spicy, the green sauce is more mild in my opinion. I enjoyed the warm welcome, clean floors and tables, the owner took my order and welcomed us back. The dish I had was the menudo, very delightful and made exactly like what a wholesome tripe soup should taste like, the garnishing was great, too. I also orders a veggie huarache which made me drool at the sight. I loved it! If you are a local, help support this family run business, they are delicious and reasonable. I'm picky when it comes to Mexican food, this spot made me do cart wheels in Oregon for the authentic taste!!!

Celerina's is a family run business with all their food made in house, from scratch! It's unbelievably good. Their food and service is amazing. It's small, but worth the wait and to go is always an options! Tamales are BOMB! They also do big orders and will cater an event for a very reasonable price.

Visited this little hole in the wall. Most Mexican fast food is not healthy, but this place is the exception. They do NOT use canned beans. Their beans are cooked fresh everyday. Tortillas are made fresh for you. They have vegetarian options and you can order the sopes and huaraches dairy-free. I will be working with the wonderful and very open to suggestions cook for more vegetarian and vegan options in the future.

Wonderful spot for Mexican food made with fresh, tasty ingredients. We had tamales and a sope and were stuffed, but looking around at people's plates had us planning to come back soon. The caldo de res (beef soup) and a blackened fish plate looked especially tempting. The staff were friendly and helpful and the prices very fair, especially considering that everything like the beans were made in-house daily. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

This place is pretty fantastic. Don't be fooled by the decor, the place has some great food! All made from scratch and the tortillas are to die for. A must try from me!!

From the outside it is a a small 20 x 20 add on to a house, in disrepair... in the inside... 4 tables fill the place. No menus here... just a poster on the wall with what it looks like changes on the prices were done several times. I asked for pollo con mole, huarachas and to drink I had Horchata. My mom used to make pollo con mole a lot, so this is something a crave at least once a week. The pollo gave me indigestion ( I'm the kind of person that eat almost anything) ... but something was not right. The mole was ok... I guess they had a bad day... earlier a gentleman came into the restaurant and demanded the waitress lady to hold down to her son... and she insisted the son couldn't stay there, so there was an argument in front of everyone sitting there..., not a nice scene... I was born in LA so disputes like this are normal... but something change the whole attitude in the business after that fight... Huarachas were fine, but the flavor was not there, and my salsa was not that good. I would probably come back to give them a second chance... but I really had a terrible experience.

My first time there. Had a wonderful meal today. Tried the Pollo al mole - chicken with mole sauce. The spicing was perfect - just enough heat to make it interesting. The horchata was delicious to wash it down. I'll be back to try more items.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
