I visited Addy's for the first time this week. The place is so cute and to be honest, I love the large, black and white drawing of the face of a cat on the outside. I was in the mood for something a little more healthy so the Power Salad seemed like just the right choice. They have three salads to choose from for the base (I chose kale and quinoa). Then there are three proteins to choose from (I chose the curry chicken salad). Then the salad is topped with avocado, a hard boiled egg and a sunflower seeds. So great! I was going to stick with water but after I ordered, I noticed they had Lemon Ginger Elixir. It was a little oversweetened with honey for my taste but most people would probably think it's just right. Looking forward to my next visit to Addy's and taking fellow food lovers with me. :)

I walked by this gem while visiting portland. It's a tiny cafe with limited seating, but good for 1-2 people. I sat at the bar window and enjoyed people watching during my lunch. The staff was super friendly and helpful. And for only 2 people they are fast and with good results. I ordered the ham melt and kale salad. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. It has Gruyere, ham, Dijon and pickles on a baguette. All of the ingredients were perfect-- I almost ordered it without the pickles, but am really glad I didn't change a thing. Serious Yums! The kale salad was good and fresh, but I found it a tad bit bland. But it was a nice pairing with my sandwich. I would recommend stopping by for yourself. :-)

This has been one of my preferred lunch spots lately. I came here when they first opened a while back and recently recalled how good it was. They have a menu of about 10 sandwiches along with hot panini's and salads. Most sandwiches are served on mini baguettes and some in ciabatta rolls. The bread, meats, and other ingredients are all fresh and delicious. I've had the curry chicken salad, chickpea spread, and ham and butter sandwiches before. The flavor combinations are well thought out and work together excellently. The buttery goodness of the ham sandwich is something I've been craving lately though I've been trying to force myself to branch out and try new items. Sandwiches are $7-9 and a good portion size that fills you up but doesn't make you feel stuffed. I find it to be a much better option that Jimmy John's, which is only a few blocks away. The shop can only seat about 10 people total with about the same number of seats available outside on a nice day. There aren't any tables that could hold more than 4 at the absolute most so I wouldn't come with more than that and plan on eating here. The service is very fast though so it's almost as good as a grab n go option like Elephants.

Delicious, and so friendly! Everything I've had here is fantastic, particularly my reg, the cucumber and Brie. These folks really know what they're doing, and it's great to see a popular cart turned brick and mortar!

Nice little place, friendly staff, but the food was kinda weird. The chilled ginger-carrot soup had doughy lumps, the baguette was stale and chewy, and the mango smoothie was room temperature. Wish I'd gotten the Power Salad - the choices looked excellent.

Love addys! Sometimes you want a sandwich but not the same old kind... Addys is different and really good.. They've got a nice selection of soups as well Plus at least one of the guys who works there is a-d-orable :)

I went here recently and ordered the roast beef sandwich. It was delicious. It was prepared on luscious bread, horseradish sauce, and pickles right in the sandwich. It's 5 stars for what it is: a small sandwich shop. It hits the mark! Great service too!

I never even knew they were a cart, but now I have a chance to do some serious catch-up and make up to them for my lack of knowledge by visiting here often to try more of their tasty French-inspired offerings. I was smart enough to get there by about 11:30 before any lunch rush started, so I was able to sit outside in the sun and relish my sandwich - glorious. This is a sophisticated-looking shop from the outside and inside it is all white and very clean and again tastefully decorated. It is organized for maximum efficiency. The menu is on a chalkboard from which you choose and order from a variety of upscale sandwiches, salads, and soups from a very pleasant cashier. He passes along your order to the two hard-working sandwich-makers/servers, and when your name is called, you get your sandwich and whatever else you have ordered. The line moves along at a nice rate and you feel well served but also never pushed through too fast. I ordered the roast beef and pickle sandwich with horseradish sauce. They were out of Kaiser rolls, but I was comfortable having it on a baguette instead. I usually have to ask for extra pickles on my sandwiches, but for once I got exactly the amount of delicious pickles without having to ask for more; this is a rare occurrence. The roast beef was gorgeous, pink and rare, and of a nice amount. The only thing off for me was the horseradish sauce. I realize they have to make it for a wide variety of tastes, but I got a horseradish tingle when I wanted some horseradish bark and bite. Still and all, it made for a nice sauce. You do have to gnaw away at the baguette, but a very worthwhile gnaw I would say. I also ordered a Tom's Ginger Ale - nice complement to the sandwich. This nice shop staff pays attention to recycling and has everything clearly labeled so you can bus your own table without causing them extra work. I didn't see it at first, but the nice servers pointed it out to me with a bit of pleasant conversation and big smile. This is a more-than worthwhile-addition to lunching up at this end of town. I could have sat there in the sun for far longer at lunch today, but since I'm going to return I'll have to do that in the future. I hope you get a chance to do the same.

Addy's Power Salad is a great choice for lunch! You get to pick the base, such as the turnip-barley thing I had, and the topping, like chicken pesto, and they top both with sunflower seeds, a sliced boiled egg and half an avocado. It's a hefty, healthy portion for $7.50. I liked the simple, clean look of Addy's and the quick and courteous service, too. We sat outside, at a table in front, and caught some rays while enjoying our food. The storefront is small, so sitting inside might be a bit claustrophobic when the weather's bad, but I think they do lots of takeout business. If you're in a hurry, just call ahead.

  • Janit S.

I had the country pâté, cornichons, and mustard sandwich. The combination of all three together was delicious. I'm a huge fan of pâté and I have to say Addy's hit the spot. My only criticism was the baguette. Most other reviewers have said how fresh and tasty they were, but my bread was extremely hard to chew through. My jaw was tired after finishing the sandwich... Maybe I could ask for the baguette to be warmed next time? I dunno. But I do plan on returning for the same sandwich. I just hope the bread is chewable next visit. On a side note, the decor both inside and out and the subtle black and gold "Addy's" sign on the window had me captured the whole time I was there. The color choices were on point. Whoever designed the place needs to decorate my apartment asap.

Everything looked awesome but the power salads were hard to beat. Got the kale power salad with pesto chicken and loved it. Great flavor! Overall this place was an awesome surprise I stumbled onto from out of town looking for a healthy lunch spot. The staff was also quick and very friendly. It's a tiny joint so take to go if you are going during a busy lunch hour.

I was in the mood for a hearty lunch salad, and optimistic reviews led me to Addy's. The duck confit baguette was intriguing, but it was definitely a salad kind of day. When I arrived the place was packed, but I can recognize that a busy restaurant is often a good sign. The wait was about 5 minutes in line and 10 minutes for the food to be made. I would definitely recommend taking your food to go or eating quickly if you have a short lunch break. The staff was polite and willing to fix orders without a fuss, as I watched them do with one gentleman's request. I ordered a salad with turkey, which was shredded rather than cubed, and also came with avocado, halved cherry tomatoes and pumpkin seeds. There was no dressing offered, and when I inquired about one I was told that it came with olive oil and champagne vinegar. This was wonderful for me but others may find it a bit limiting. The salad wasn't quite as enormous as some of the other reviews seemed to indicate, but it was plentiful, tasty, and left me feeling full through the afternoon. It also came with two pieces of garlic toast, which looked to be a business savvy way to use up day-old sandwich bread and include bread with the salads for no extra charge. It worked for me! There were also some miniature desserts available for about $0.75 for a sweet little finish to lunch. The salad came to about $8, which isn't bad for a healthy lunch downtown. Addy's is a cute little downtown lunch spot for petite sandwiches, hearty salads and a great place to escape the rain for lunch too.

I love Addy's. She has creative flavor combinations that get you out of your food rut. She has healthy options for food and good beer in the bottle. Food is prepared in a timely fashion and the service is impeccable. Five stars for sure.

Kale & quinoa salad with the chickpeas. Topped with avocado, pine nuts, and egg. That was pretty amazing. Will be back.

Rating on the chicken pesto sandwich alone. Overall, it was kinda boring and minimal for $7.50, seemed like a lot of bread. Looking at other pictures, it looks like I chose the wrong thing entirely because everything else looks pretty good. Great service, cute shop. Will try them again and not order the chicken pesto.

The gherkin pickle served with my sandwich was disappointingly small. A bigger pickle and I would give Addy's 4 stars.

I eat here once or twice a week. A great spot downtown for a quick, healthy lunch. Everyone is super friendly and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Try the power salad - kale + curried chicken + avocado + hard boiled egg = delicious.

I shared the turkey & brie and the ham with pickles and the olive oil & chocolate. I would get each one of those again! But I also want to try just about every other sandwich and salad they have at Addy's! Not enough stomach, too much good food!! These sandwiches are so great because they are simple and wonderfu flavor combos.

If I had closed my eyes and let my tastebuds do the telling, I'd have said I was in a little cafe in the heart of Paris. Except my eyes were open. If was a dreary and damp winter day. I was in Portland. For a european-style sandwich shop, Addy's can likely not be beat in this town. That said, I like me a hoagie, and that's not what Addy delivers. The sandwiches are expertly crafted from fine ingredients. If that's your schtick, Addy's is the place. Highly recommended for your meal before or after the museum.

Great food; terrific service (and terrific lunch pricing, too). Some true flights of fancy in the specials (recently the egg salad + anchovies + roasted green onion was divine) and reliably delicious soups (today was asparagus, mushrooms and wild rice). Plus they frequently bake up the best ANZAC biscuits I've ever tasted (outside my own kitchen ;-) Totally solid for a friendly and delicious lunch.

5 stars for the duck confit sandwich, 3.5 for the chicken salad, probably should have gone with another salad, but oh well, there is always next time! The duck confit sandwich was excellent, a perfect combo with the cranberry relish and crunchy cabbage.

Great location, especially if you are walking by. The sandwiches here are delicious, but maybe not so filling, they are not so big and they are a little too pricey, on the other hand their salads are huge and very filling and they come with bread, The staff is very friendly and nice. The duck sandwich is fantastic..very tasty. The turkey sandwich is very good too. The small disadvantage of this place is that is not big, tiny and they do have outdoor seating, but is very limited. The best is to come here to order to go. There are still different kinds of sandwiches I have not had yet, will have to come back and try a different one next time

  • Alyssa C.

I know it's counter intuitive for me to tell you to order a salad at a sandwich bar, but the salads at Addys are ginormous, come with a couple slices of Little T's bread on the side, and are filling and delicious! When I ordered a sandwich here, I felt a little ripped off for a tiny, $9 baguette sandwich that still left me feeling hungry. But when I ordered a salad, I was pleasantly surprised! This is a go-to lunch spot for me now when I'm craving a big, tasty salad! They also have a juice bar, and are open for breakfast sandwiches and coffee in the morning. Small little cafe style bar so not a lot of seating, but somehow it's never that busy so I find myself able to get a seat. A couple of nice outdoor tables, too in the summer. Staff is nice and helpful!

Simply delicious sandwiches. I wish I would have thought of the combinations Addy has come up with. The turkey, brie, cucumber, and creme fraiche on a baguette is so yummy. I'll be back to try more!

SUCH a big fan. I love everything about this place, from the vibe of the little restaurant, to the delicious variety of sandwiches, to the friendliness of the staff. I've been here a few times now and am always happy with my choice. The turkey and brie baguette is one of my favorites, as is the pate baguette. The chocolate and sea salt sandwich is delicious as well. I only tried it as a dessert and split it with others; it might be a little much if you had it on its own as a meal, but I haven't tried it that way yet. One small note: I noticed one day after eating in that my hair and clothes all smelled like food. Not a bad smell, but just be aware if you're going somewhere after where you'd rather not smell like your lunch!

I fell in love with Addy's when it first opened as a cart a few years ago. How can you not love a duck confit sandwich on that perfect Little T baguette? But I'm even more in love with their new-ish brick and mortar spot. It's got all the old favorites from the cart, but also salads, paninis, charcuterie (ooh la la!), soups, sweets, smoothies, and coffee! It's all one could have hoped for from the promise of that little cart on the corner selling awesome sandwiches, My new favorite thing is the Power salad -- one of their side salads, topped with a protein salad of your choice and then finished off with a hard boiled egg and avocado. So delicious, you barely realize how healthful it is. Long Live Addy's!

Wish I could give 6 stars. Seriously, this place has the best sandwiches I've ever had. The sandwiches are tasty and large, the ingredients are always fresh, the prices are very affordable for the amount and quality, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Crazy good. The tuna on baguette is especially amazing. It isn't a typical fish/mayo goup and thin, soggy bread deal. No, this tuna sandwich is super good. It has the perfect filling to bread ratio. The tuna has amazing texture with just enough moisture to bring out the flavor. The tuna salad is a little oiley, and it has some hard-boiled eggs in it. Yum. The bread is fresh and crisp. Oh, Iove it. Their non-meat sandwiches are pretty good too. The cucumber and brie sandwich is strangely addicting. Also they have huge, filling salads that don't feel like consolation prizes. I hope they expand their breakfast menu though. The one "special" breakfast sandwich is $6.50 (which is kind of pricey for an egg sandwich), and they are always meat based. Oh well, it is never too early for a tuna salad, is it?

    (5)
  • Brooks P.

Girlfriend and I just split a turkey melt, tuna melt, quiche and tomato coconut soup. So damn good - all of it. As other reviewers have said, it's not a crazy huge gut bomb sandwich place - they focus on high-quality ingredients and well-chosen flavor combinations. Filling but not too filling. Service was cheerful and quick too. Can't wait to get back to try more of everything. Definitely recommend!

  • Carlin S.

Service and complimentary WiFi were fast, the sandwich was good and the atmosphere good. I'll have to go back for another try because I can't imagine why so many people gave this place 5 stars.

Another 'chance' find for us. We were shopping in Portland by foot and we were hungry. A quick check on my Yelp app directed us here. We certainly were NOT disappointed. I didn't have a sandwich here because the salads sounded soooo good. I had a power protein type of salad and it was very good. Not too much seating, but you can get it to go and find a place outside somewhere I'm sure. Prices are very reasonable as well. I'd come here again, when visiting the city.

Great sandwich cart was lost but now is found again. Addy's Sandwiches found a pretty sweet home, replacing a falafel type joint. Not sure what prompted the move but glad they got the new storefront near the library. The sandwiches are still the same great baguette based, meat, cheese and veggie. Price point is average around 7.50 which is legit for lunch downtown. Just moved up the downtown sandwich list to #3.

I opted for the Turkey Melt this time ($6.50): slices of real turkey (none of the processed cold cut meat), brie, and sweetened dried cranberries in a Kaiser bun. The entire sandwich is put in a toaster oven for the cheese to melt. Yeah, it took some time to prepare. My stomach was being one impatient dude, waiting for his prim and proper date (mmm...quality sandwich...) to get all fancied up. This is what I shoulda gotten the last time. An amazing sandwich that gives me a bit of Thanksgiving with each bite. The sweetness and fruity qualities of the dried cranberry blend well with the turkey and the soft brie. The blanket of melted cheese is mild, so all ingredients can be fully appreciated. The toasted bun is a major win. So soft, yet a crunch soulfully pleasing to the ear. That should be a rule for sandwiches and burgers: "Thou shalt always toast the dang bun!" This is a sandwich I would eat once a day and twice on Sunday. Wait...Addy's is closed on Sundays? So much for that idea. Anyway, I can finally give Addy's the big thumbs up! Awesome!

I love that Addy updates the website/Twitter to include the special and soup of the day. I debated between the duck confit and the special (braised pork with cream cheese, green chiles and cucumbers on a baguette), and was recommended to try the braised pork. Damn. Normally I don't finish a full portion of food regardless of where it's from, and probably should've stopped half way through the sandwich, but it was so good I couldn't help myself! I got the Barley Corn Chowder with it, and it was the perfect combination. You get a tad more bread than fillings, but dip the bread in your soup and you've got a melt-in-your-mouth sandwich! I got my soup and sandwich in 5 minutes or less, service was quick and friendly. All for about $9--a smidge steep by my lunch standards, but the quality of food makes it worth it. Plus, every so often you can get a Groupon or Google Offer (or another deal site), so Addy lets you treat yourself to her tasty sandos even if the budget's a bit tight!

Great place! Really good bread and super thick cut mozzarella. Nice selection of sandwiches, salads and drinks. Notably clean too. Doesn't look like much from the outside.

I was walking back from the art museum and remarked to my wife how cute this restaurant looked from the outside. We decided to give it a try after visiting a different place that was closed and we loved it. Sandwiches were really good and familiar but still a little unexpected in their delivery. I ordered the chicken pesto and was a little surprised that is was a chicken salad and not slices of chicken w/ pesto but it was still wonderful. The baguette was fresh and perfect. The glass of white wine I had was delicious. I don't think I would drive out of my way to get here but I would definitely stop again after visiting the area.

The French are so misunderstood. But they have pleasure, philosophy and class down. And they do it seemingly effortlessly. My French friend catered some simple baguette sandwiches, cuke and brie, smoked duck confit and dried cranberries. I politely refrained, but then ate that sh*t up. No fancy dressings, even more minimal than the cart offerings. The duck rocks. Seriously, what is "the duck rocks" in French? Tasty, pleasurable, minimal, class. Great catering option, get it sliced into one inch yum units.

We hired Addy's to provide catered food for our company picnic (we ordered for approx. 80). We were very happy with Addy's. Really excellent food, reliable and responsive service, and a great price (compared to other catering quotes). What makes Addy's special is the combination of flavors in her sandwiches. Always fresh ingredients. Usually just a few things in each sandwich, but the flavors are unique and combine really well. I highly recommend!

On a visit to visit Portland's food scene, Addy's food cart was my second stop. There wasn't a line when I went because it was a particularly cold day, so Nong's chicken and rice around the corner was my initial fare of choice. But I made sure I kept room for an Addy creation. COME TO ME, DUCK CONFIT! That's right. My first Addy's experience was the duck confit sandwich. The combination of duck, fresh cabbage, sweet and tart berries and crunchy yet chewy baguette had me floored. Plenty of gourmet delis and sandwich bars in California (from LA to Napa) try to pull off a sandwich like this but Addy's yours is the best. Tummy was too full from my chicken and rice AND sandwich or I would've ordered another. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had.

  • Al L.

I had high expectations based on all the positive reviews, but I walked away disappointed. I ordered the duck confit sandwich, which was okay and would had been much better if they were a bit more generous with the meat. The sandwich came on a nice baguette with an nice crust accented by cabbage an cranberries, which was tasty. My big complaint was that there was just a really thin layer of duck confit meat. I expected a bit more for a $9 sandwich. Note that they must have raised there prices as they've moved from a food cart to a actual store location.

The place is cute. They have three vegetarian options that I saw, one being the tomato tapanade. That's what I ordered. It was very good and very fresh. I loved the pairing of the tapanade with the mozzarella and basil. The sandwich was good, but it didn't hit my list as AMAZING. I tend to think because I am just OK with tapanade. If I went back, I would probably try another veggie option. It was nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy the breeze.

The large line in front of Addy's caught my attention. I'll tell you what jumped out at me: the duck confit sandwich with lettuce and raspberries. This is a thing of beauty. The combination of salty and sweet is perfect and it's served on a great baguette. Gourmet sandwich at its best!

    (4)
  • Lisa S.

Hmm....I've tried almost every sandwich on the menu. And the ingredients are all fresh and tasty. So why only three stars? The amount of sandwich innards is TINY compared to the the size of the bread. There can't be any more than one or two ounces of ingredients. I expect a miserly portion with the duck confit, but not with something like cucumber and cheese. This off-balance proportion creates a very, very dry sandwich. And too much bread in each bite. The price is great ($5.50) but honestly, I'd rather pay $6.50 or $7.00 and get a good amount of meat and veggies and therefore a real hearty meal. The baguette they use is amazing, so I usually buy a sando, take it home and fill it with more ingredients and condiments. But I can also do this with a $2.50 bahn mi, so why pay $5.50 for a sando you have to trick out, in order to eat?

Meh - I'd return, but I wasn't blown away by the turkey melt I ordered. It was a bit bland. That said, this was only one visit... on the upside, the (small) space is cute and the staff was friendly.

Another gourmet sandwich option in Portland, this time from a cart! Addy's sandwich cart offers up a variety of, as Kody L so aptly put, "very French sandwich options" from it's little window on 10th and Alder. A short list of gourmet baguette-based sandwiches populates the menu of offerings, which is rounded out by a salad option, chips, and a daily soup. The sandwiches themselves run $5.50, and the chips and salads range from $1.5 to a few dollars more. A sandwich and cup of soup will run you $8. Each sandwich is made to order (so a little slower) on a Little T baguette, and the options range from ham+gruyere+butter to country paté+cornichons+mustard to duck confit+cranberry+cabbage and more. The baguettes themselves are the classic thin bread sticks with a nice thick crust and a great flavor. The country paté I tried today was served in a generous portion with some tasty dijon and some decent little cornichons. This is a serious paté sandwich... not for someone trying paté for the first time, but being a fan of the stuff myself, I was thankful that it was not dumbed down. It definitely took some work to chew through the baguette while not squishing the paté and cornichons out the side, but no self-respecting French sandwich would be easy to eat anyway, right? The duck broth soup with potatoes and turnips was tasty, if not a fairly small portion for $2.50. It was definitely served up hot enough for me to burn the hell out of the roof of my mouth when I took my first bite. My bad. One of the nice aspects of this cart is the little sandwich bar on the side of the cart with little wooden stools where you can sit (on a nice day) and enjoy gnawing through your little tasty French baguette sandwich. A nice little plus. Overall, definitely a unique sandwich option in town, something I don't see matched at many other places. Next time I am definitely trying the ham and gruyere - my favorite type of baguette sandwich. Only down side? A little pricey for an average cart lunch option. That said, based on what goes into it, I can't say that it's overpriced by any means. Good stuff.

I stopped by at lunch time and there were several people in line but the line moved quick and I didn't feel that I have to wait long. I have to give a plus point for the staffs here at the cart. I ordered a signature dishes here, i.e. duck confit + cranberry relish + shredded cabbage baguette sandwich. It totally lives up to the expectation and the rave. The baguette was perfectly right - crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The sandwich also had the right amount of duck confit and cranberry and cabbage - from the first bite to the last bite, you can feel the taste of all ingredients dancing in your mouth. It was so delicious!!! I also ordered a bowl of soup of the day (carrot and parsnip) which was also delicious. The soup was hearty with perfect consistency. It went along well with the baguette sandwich. Highly recommended!!!

  • Kody L.

Probably the first cart to offer very French sandwich options. I got the Country Pate for $5.50. It was simple and delicious, except for the cornichons -- those need to better quality. I was happy with it all, though. Check out the pick for more of their fun sandwich options. Their ingredients are generally of good quality and your meal will be to you quickly!

Maybe it was an off day. I ordered the tuna sandwich , it was so bland and dry it tasted like canned tuna, sprinkle with parsley and smeared on a great bakery roll. I t was so awful , I wouldn't even offer it to a homeless guy, skip this place and don't believe the hype.

The ham, gruyere, and butter baguette transports me back to Paris. Love it! Seriously, try it. This food cart ROCKS!

This place is baguette heaven! The baguettes are always fresh, delicious and filled with some awesome flavor combinations, which is definitely a step-up from your standard cold cut sandwich. For the price, the sandwiches are lacking in the substance department. You end up eating a lot of bread and not enough of the tasty fillings.

Knew I had to come here because the day before, the truck was sold out. Sold out of sandwiches. Who does that? A truck that makes delicious sandwiches, that's who. Had the duck confit sandwich. Shut up. Delicious--some of the best duck confit I've ever had. And the cabbage that came on it added a perfect texture contrast, and the dried cranberries on it cut the fattiness of the duck. Bread was fantastic, too. Tried the turkey, brie, creme fraiche and cucumber sandwich--it was definitely missing something. Bacon? Something sweet? Perhaps the cranberries would be delicious on this sandwich too. Potato salad was good and had a nice acidity to it. Friendly people and excellent service. And 6.50 for something with duck confit on it? I'm sold.

While I'm still bummed that the turkey sandwich was sold out when I visited Addy's, my onion-and-pesto-chicken-salad sandwich almost makes up for it. A quick stop at Addy's is definitely worth it for a delicious, quasi-healthy food card option. Server/chef/carter-extraordinaire was friendly and patient while we decided on our sandwiches and they came out fresh and ready quickly. My sandwich was very good. The right pesto-and-onion-to-chicken ratio for sure!

Great place but the superstar sandwiches are definitely the duck confit and the pate'. Neither meat has a strong texture but the flavor is good and and I'm a fan of the chopped cabbage to provide a nice refreshing crunch. The bread is great, certainly for $6.50 I wouldn't say the sandwiches are cheap but there's no question Addy's is worth a visit if you're in the downtown area.

I have to say this was a disappointment when the price went up a whole buck! The sandwiches are 6.50 and just don't seem worth it anymore. I love their sandwiches, but lower the price back to maybe 6 and I might come back.

Turkey, brie , and creme fresh! Best combination ever. Favorite sandwich in Portland hands down. Only complaint is that they aren't open later! Kaiser roll sandwiches are amazing too. Local, organic, and most importantly FRESH tasting meat, veggies, and bread. Fantastic food cart. Good prices. YUM

Cucumber + turkey + brie = delish! I'm not a big sandwich person, so I wasn't sure I would love Addy's, but I'm a believer. One of the best sandwiches I've had, and one of my favorite food carts.

This review is only for the Duck Confit sandwich. It is really great between the duck, cabbage, cranberries and the crunchy baguette - it just doesn't get much better than this. When I visit Portland, this is my first food cart to visit.

Wow the life pops out of this food. I held up a piece of lettuce from the salad before putting it in my mouth and it seemed to be bursting with life. I had the chicken salad made with a greens pesto, on top of green salad. Really special! My son had the turkey melt with cranberry and said it was heaven. We will be back!

I came to Addy's after seeing it in a Portland magazine. I ordered the Tuna sandwich. - Bread was fresh and tasty just how I like it. - Tuna was dry and flavorless. - Not enough fillings compared to the bread size. Overall, Just average. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing.

During my lunchtime walk to Addy's today I passed by melt, ken's artisan bakery, kenny and zukes, whole foods, a gazillion other carts offering sandwiches. never even thought to stop on the way. These are great, simple sandwiches with high quality ingredients. Start with Little T's foot-long baguette, add 3-4 crafted ingredients in tastable portions. Nothing too light, nothing too heavy. Balance. I've tried 3 of the sandwiches so far, the chicken salad, the country pate, and the turkey/brie. The genius is in not packing too much while keeping the minimalist pairings spot-on. If you want to blow your mind or your mouth with wads of processed meat, this is not the place. But if you want to enjoy each identical bite of actual herbs and bakery bread, Addy's rules. And at 5.50 per sandwich you can go every day.

Oh My Friggin' God. Addy served me the World's Best Sandwich today. I've now been ruined for all other sandwiches. Nothing could possibly live up to this thing... pork loin confit, chimichurri sauce, fresh mozzarella and pineapple on a baguette! Everything was in perfect balance. Every bite a transcendent experience. (This review sounds too over the top, doesn't it? Well suck it up. It's the truth.) Oh, and if you've never tried the chocolate sandwich, you owe it to yourself to do so. This cart has got you covered: savory AND sweet. I love you Addy. Good god, I love you.

Expensive for a sandwich cart (about $6, I believe), but worth every penny. The best sandwiches in PDX, bar none. Tuna with hard boiled egg and papers is my staple. She uses amazing french bread baguettes that are just the right texture (crispy, but not dry). Her ingredients are all very well-sourced.

The bread at Addy's really is exceptional. I don't think I can give it more than 3.5 stars unfortunately, mainly because despite the lovely flavors of the duck confit sandwich, it didn't jump out and really inspire me. It's a very solid sandwich, and the price is right. The flavors were very balanced and the proportions were good.

Fantastic "European-style" sandwiches made with local ingredients and even a bit of ethical meat in a few of them. The baguette's come from Little T American Baker, which is reason enough to get a sandwich there! Don't go here expecting an overfilled, American grotesquery of a sandwich. They fill them just enough. You'll be enjoying a well-composed, tasty sandwich that won't make you feel gross afterwards. Truly gourmet and definitely worth the $6-$8.

Oh my gosh you guys, Addy's is so good. Fresh, local ingredients, clever combinations that are actually mouthwatering, and salads that are just as good (if not better) than their ridiculously good sandos. I order lunch from them for my office at least once a week, and the one and only time something was left out of the order, they brought it to the office in like 5 minutes. They are super nice, too. Oh, and if your thing (like mine) is sandwiches that have a correct/appropriate/good filling to bread to condiment ratio, look no further. Five dang stars, I would give more if I could.

Duck confit with cranberry and rather bitter cabbage on tough bageuette: I wasn't the happiest camper and wouldn't return when there are millions of other awesome food carts within a couple hundred feet.

Came here with a friend off his recommendation - we bought the duck confit and chicken pesto sandwiches to split back at the office. I also bought a salad. The sandwiches were ready to go upon order so the transaction was quick + she takes debit/credit so it's very convenient. I'm super intrigued by the chocolate and sea salt + olive oil sandwich. The baguette was perfect - crispy and chewy and the flavors were very well balanced. Not a ton of food but considering the chewy baguette, it will suffice for a lighter lunch. You can't really expect to get too full on a sandwich anyway and upon finishing my lunch, felt completely satisfied and not heavy at all. Will definitely go back.

Addy's is my absolute favorite cart. I hit it up every chance I get - the duck confit sandwich is to-die-for with the ham and cheese coming up as a close second. They're always fast, they're always friendly, and they're always delicious!

My job is three-fold: meeting planner, travel agent and accountant. Since I plan up to 8 workshops a year all over the country and a tiny government budget, I need to good and quick customer service at a cheap price. Addy does just that. I needed 50 boxed lunches for hungry grad students who were heading on a field trip by noon. Addy herself delivered everything to our hotel in plenty of time, with a sweetheart smile. Let me tell you, I have never gotten so many complements on a box lunch before! And the best part of everything, the food was amazing and the prices were about the same as Quizno's or Subway.

Once a month I allow myself to buy a sandwich from addy's. I wish I could afford, both financially and calorically, to eat it every day. I've only had 2 sandwiches from there-the turkey and cucumber one-which is divine and very mellow with little bits of salt-and I've also had the fresh mozzerella one w/ fresh basil and tomato tapenade, which I absolutely loved. All this talking about how good Addy's is, is making me hungry! Guess where I'm going for lunch tomorrow....

They just started using these soft kaiser rolls. Fantastic. Now you have the choice between soft and hard bread sandwich. I had the roast beef with plenty of horseradish. YUM

OMG. This made us believers in cucumber and brie sandwiches. Nothing flashy. Fresh, crisp baguette + thinly sliced cucumber + creamy, delicious brie = Phenomenal sandwich. No sauce or condiments necessary. Highly recommend if you want a quick lunch in downtown Portland.

There are a lot of reasons that I go to Addy's at least 2 times a week. Firstly, she might be the only cart in the group on 9th/10th and Adler that always uses sustainable ingredients (all sources listed on her website). Secondly, the taste! I usually get the duck confit sandwich, but if she has her pancetta special (or most of her specials), definitely do not pass that up. Also, the portion size for the price is perfect. For $5.50, its one of the cheaper lunches out there, and I'm always the perfect amount of full when I'm through. AND! She lists her specials on her twitter and website, so I can check before I go. Lastly, she takes cards AND has a frequent buyer card (buy 10, get 1 free!). There's almost no reason to go anywhere else.

I loves me some food cart food and on a recent foray from NoPo into the downtown area came across this gourmet sandwich haven. My choice from their limited menu was the country pate sandwich on a great crunchy baguette. Awesome, with the little sweet cornichons (why can't they just say sweet pickles) and a great little spicy mustard. I personally would add some sweet onion slices to this homemade pork pate but it was definitely to my liking as presented and I am drooling while thinking about trying the other menu selections. Priced right around $6 for a sandwich and you can add a salad and or soup.

Addy's is nothing spectacular. I suppose that their sandwiches are gourmet and use fancy ingredients, but I didn't find them that impressive. The sandwiches are actually kinda on the small side, better as a snack than a meal. They have a handful of selections usually pairing a meat-ish substance with a cheese substance. I got a turkey and brie and it was alright, both the meat and cheese were in fact what they said they were. I was not all that impressed with the taste of the meat and cheese, both were fairly bland and didn't seem to have enough flavor between them to compete with the bread. On the flip side, the bread is in fact quite tasty with a great chewy texture, and in my opinion the only thing that actually saves the sandwich. Also, I am not convinced that they don't pre-make all their sandwiches as mine, completely wrapped to-go was handed to me along with my change about 3 seconds after ordering. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it is certainly not what I would expect from a self touted Gourmet Sandwich place. At 5.50 a pop these sandwiches aren't a bad deal, they just aren't worthy of great distinction or honor and certainly not worth making a separate outing for. I will most likely not make a point of going to Addy's again, but if I am in that food cart area and need a moderately tasting and priced snack then Addy's it will be.

I'm out in lake oswego, but try to support the food cart guys as much as possible...this usually means the neighborhood pods like belmont and d-noshery. so when I find myself in downtown during the weekday for lunch, I am pretty excited. 9th/10th St and Alder is an amazing congregation of food specialists...In need of a quick and easy lunch in my car, I was looking for something delicious but new and came by Addy's Sandwich Bar...a nice little outfit ran by two nice young ladies. Ordered the Duck Confit with cranberry relish and cabbage on a nice baguette...this sandwich was the bomb...I haven't had a chance to try sandwiches from all the heavy weights around town...but have to say the quality and taste could stand up to sandwiches from Lardo and Eurotrash. it was salty, sweet, crunch on a high quality bread. I'd definately try these folks out again!

Addy's sammies are more than worth their $5 cost, and yes - GET THE DUCK. It will demolish your tastgbuds in the best kind of way! Salty, earthy, the perfect hint of crispy fat... yes yes yes. And Addy is really friendly - you can call ahead to order, too! That is a better way than trying to email, because she doesn't yet have internet access in the cart.

I tried this food truck on a recent visit to Portland. I am a fan of a good sandwich, and Addy's delivered. I had a basic mozzarella, tomato, and basil, that was very tasty. The real gem, though, was the dark chocolate, olive oil, and sea salt sandwich. What a revelation - a chocolate sandwich! Definitely a dessert item (I could also see it for breakfast). Wow. The chocolate sandwich was probably the highlight of my Portland trip.

we are a sandwich loving people, us portlanders. addy's is a welcome addition to the sandwich kingdom we are working on here. my favorite is a roast turkey, cucumber, brie and creme fraiche sandwich on a little T american baker roll. addy also offers pate, chicken pesto salad, a chocolate with olive oil and sea salt sandwich!!, a duck confit one and some veggie options. today i realized she actually roasts the turkey herself and then [sanitarily] pulls the turkey meat off the bird to make your sandwich. every time i go- there's some new amazing salad and or soup. she obviously spends time fantasizing and tasting un-heard of combinations of tasty things. Addy's is my favorite cart in the 10th/alder bunch, but i am a sandwich fanatic.

This cart has only improved since I first started eating here. Perhaps I'm imagining things, but I'm pretty sure the flavors are more balanced now. The new soup is delicious as well. Really a top notch cart at this point. Bravo!
