After reading the reviews on Yelp we decided to try the Pioneer for dinner during our stay at Summer Lake Hot Springs. We are glad we did! We stopped by in the afternoon to check it out and to take a glance at the menu. We chatted with the owner, Sandy. She told us about the history of the pictures on the wall and the area. Sandy's husband Terrry has added outdoor seating out back. Very nice! We returned for dinner and sat out back with a Terry, Sandy and a couple of friends of theirs. My brother had Sandy's home made meatloaf which he inhaled. My husband had the pizza and my sister-in-law and I had the steak. I would not recommend the steak. Mine was dry. I think it was pre-frozen. The good company made up for that. Terry treated us to a special drink they make call the Pineapple Upside Down. It has pinealpple juice, whipped vodka (first time I had heard of it), cranberry juice and a splash of sprite. Yummy! If you are in Paisley go to the Pioneer.

We stopped here near the end of our two week motorcycle ride, returning to Oregon from Utah and Nevada. The "breakfast served all day" sign was what sold me! I ordered a veggie omelet, and with some green tabasco sauce, I swear it was the best omelet I have had in years. It was a lot of food for a reasonable price. Service was quick and friendly. And the place just drips with atmosphere - the decor and history is worth a stop alone. Will definitely stop here again.

This is a yearly stop during hunting season. Until this year it has always been terrific, however this year we left frustrated and angry. This time of the year is always busy so they should plan accordingly, one elderly mouthy waitress and one young cook. After waiting 80 minutes for our order which included to pizzas ( we we're told when ordering it would take 30 minutes for the pizzas), no pizza served, no mention of pizza, nothing, when we went to the counter(bar) to inquire there set two pizza crusts unprepared. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. When we asked for a refill of soda we were told she didn't have time. Several parties came after us and left before us even getting our food. So disappointed. The owner needs to better screen his employees and staff for the time of the year. I will go back next year but will leave if the service hasn't. changed. No tip was given based on no service delivered. We went back to our camp and BBQ hotdogs for two hungry hunters.

Rock on. This place is perfect. I'm at the Playa artist residency a few miles up the road and the wifi, TV and goofy community sustain me!

Stopped for lunch while going through town. Staff was very friendly and the pizza was also really good. Chicken vegetable soup tasted and looked home made.....also yummy. Don't expect a large menu but almost everyone will find something to their liking. Great experience. Don't let the rough exterior shy you away. The staff are friendly just like a small town eatery should be. The ambiance of the place was great and you can tell they have been there a long time. Next time through this part of the world we will definitely eat here again.

Don't let the outside appearance keep you from eating here. As per the previous review we also met the owner and had the tour. My wife had the pork special and I had a hamburger with fries and we both had a micro brew . $20.50 ! Good service and good food at a better than good price . Enjoy the experience , it is worth it.
