Are you fricking kidding me! Unbelievably terrible service. Wait you have to be acknowledged after 15 minutes of sitting at a table to even say we had service. We must have been invisible because all of the grumpy wait staff never even looked at us. Got up and left we were so annoyed. I never do that but today it was a necessity. I would think if Rogue wants to have a restaurant their management would spend a little timing observing the poor wait staff and notice the hundred dollar bill that just walked out the front door.

Most of the bad reviews of this place seem to revolve around the service. My wife and I arrived right at noon on a Thursday and bellied up to the bar; Dave the bartender was pouring us a complimentary taste of chocolate stout within seconds, and we were off to the races... There are 40 beers on tap here, all under the Rogue banner. Honestly, it's a little overwhelming at first. The beer flights are a great deal at $6.50 for four 3-oz (?) pours. There were plenty of IPA varieties to satisfy yours truly, along with several Hefeweizen/wheat beers to choose from to keep the wife happy. We had two flights a piece and shared a third, and we were solid. For food, the beer cheese soup is incredible, and my wife was stoked on the Oregon ceviche. I had the Shepherd chili dog for my main lunch course, which was comme ci, comme ca. In hindsight, I'm wishing I had ordered the Reuben soaked in brutal IPA. All throughout, both bartenders were attentive and enthusiastic about the beers they were peddling. I can't vouch for the dining room proper, but our experience at the bar was 5 stars, all the way. If we ever find ourselves in Newport again, we'll be back.

So many good choices of brews on tap! But even better was our fantastic food and our great servers. Both of the guys behind the bar were fantastic and fun. They took great care of us and kept the entertainment coming. My Kobe chili was phenomenal as was the cod and chips plate. We started with buffalo chips and they were fantastic too!

Great beers, mediocre food. Nice free sample as we sat down. Confusing three different beer menus, many of which were not available. Finally found the chalk board with the up to date list. Hazelnut brown ale was tasty. Halibut and chips at $16 was over priced for the small portion and nothing memorable about them. Ceviche looked good. Service was decent. Go for the beer, eat somewhere else. Issaquah, WA Rogue brewery had much better food, and just as good of beer.

Stopped in for dinner. Wait time to be seated was minimal even tho there were seven of us. The food and service was unsurpassed. There was a glitch in the kitchen and the dishwasher were not working? That did not hinder this fine establishment to provide quality service and food . They simply traded their regular dishes for paper plates There was a a little Lego table available to keep my three year old grandson amused and entertained. The whole experience of this place was outstanding. And , did I mention the brews? Fantastic selection! Next time we pass thru Newport, we will surely return!

Man this pains me. I really wanted to love this place. I am a big fan of their beer, their story and creative marketing so here comes the "But sandwich" the restaurant is like the Roger Clinton of the rogue family. It's ok to put it in pictures but don't talk about it. The service is really bad. I had mental kudos for the bartender as he would cover the floor when our server took her Houdini act somewhere else for 20-30min at a time then that took a 180 when two cute girls sat at the bar and he was hooked. Our beers were fantastic but come on it's rogue beer! I ordered a 15.00 "kobe" burger that was dry, rubbery and tasteless. My lady ordered the sauerkraut dog and it was fine but it was a $8.00 hot dog with a $1.00 up charge for fries....... With out putting a sign on my face that we weren't please the bartender and someone who appeared to be the manager looked our direction several times but with no action taken. We sat with empty beers for over 30min. I even went to stretching myself out on the bench. Still no service and all this time our server was just gone. When the bartender finally came buy to grab the dirty plates there was nothing. I asked him if our server was still working as we were ready to go and he walked away came back with our check with the "rogue family discount" on our beers for the bad service, this was .75 off each of our two beers. I almost wanted to adopt him with this sincere sign of remorse(insert sarcasm) As we left we got a farewell "till next time". Did I mention we ended up here because we waited for a table at the rogue street ale house for 7min without seeing one employee, 8people inside and 4of which at the bar. Very disappointed and I wanted to just be pleased. I don't expect 4-5stars from a brewery by any means but I ran multi unit bars very well for a living and whoever is running the show with this place or possibly these places needs to step it up significantly. The entire environment felt like the parents were gone and the kids just do what they want. If the restaurant could carry half the dedication as the brewery did I would come back and be supporter but this was probably my worst experience in a long time.

Food was overall very good. The Chili could have been a little better but the bread was good although it could have used more butter. My Ruben was tasty and the sea food platter was very good as well. Although the food was good the beer was better with my favorite being the Nitro oatmeal Stout. My only qualm with the place was that the bathrooms were incredibly far away from the restaurant.

This place is exactly what its trying to be: a place to make and try beer. We took the tour and headed upstairs for some tasters. I think they have about 40 beers on tap (see my pic). Everyone there was friendly and it was great to talk with people that know their beer. If the beer and tour werent enough, I had the tuna fish and chips. Best fish & chips I've ever had. The server told me the get fresh fish daily and pointed out the window to the omnipresent water that surrounded us. Head on over, make some new friends and try some new beer.

Ugh, I tried so hard not to go here. We tried to go to Local Ocean, and parked on the waterfront and walked over. Sadly the wait for Local Ocean was an hour, and with kids, no way. It seemed every place was closed on an August afternoon, or was a bar that did not allow minors. After trying in vain to find my second choice, I finally relented to the kids who were hungry and we stopped at Rouge. We have visited Rouge in Newport before and I swore it off, yet find myself back here, damn. First off, the restaurant is just dirty all around, the family bathroom was not clean and needed updating ten years ago, and the carpet in the family seating area needed replacing just as long ago. They also sat a table of old folks right in front of the lego play table, their overweight bodies blocking access to the play area. We sat down and were given a complementary sample of beer which was nice. So we went to get some games, and every game had 70% of the pieces missing. Just like everything at Rouge, the games are a sad half-assed effort, at best. So our server stopped by after taking the old folk's order and said she was going to put their order in then come back and (finally) take our order. We had been waiting a while without even drink orders being taken. There was no drink menu on our table either, so I had do go grab one. So the waitress comes back, and heads straight for a table that was literally just seated, bumping us back in the line. So annoying! After another wait the waitress finally came back and took our order. Eventually we even got the beers we ordered. Our sever was nice, and seemed professional, but was sub par in the performance department. The food came out, the kids meals are served on a Rouge frisbee you can take with you, kids had mac and cheese that comes with potato chips. It was fine for the kids. I ordered the albacore tuna sandwich which was suppose to be served medium rare with a barley crust according to the "specials" menu. These sandwiches are priced at $12 and come with lack luster potato chips unless you give them an extra dollar for fries, which it pretty lame. My wife had the fish and chips. My sandwich came out and it was a tiny piece of tuna, and was completely overcooked. It wasn't terrible, but I felt cheated by the false advertisement and the price, but with the kids, there is not time for sending stuff back, and what would be the point anyway? Rouge does not give a crap about the customer, that much is obvious. The fries were also not very good, sub par. Fish and chips sub par as well, yet still pushing $15. The food was edible, but is certainly is not a good value at all. The kitchen simply does not give a crap about living up to the menu preparation and pricing. Rouge has choose to invest nothing in this restaurant, and does not seem to have any interest in improvements. They must be raking in the money from the marks that eat here. In short, this restaurant sucks. It is clear that Rouge is riding their name to trap tourist into overpaying for sub par food. The beers are also overpriced at $5.75 for a non-imperial pint. Rouge has some good beer, but still, overpriced for what you get. It is clear that Rouge has absolutely no respect for their customers and just use this restaurant as a cash cow. I do not want to support these types of buisness practices, and I won't in the future. AVOID!

I have never been more disappointed with a restaurant experience in my life and it is purely due to poor management. If i could give zero stars, or a negative twelve stars i would. I've had numerous friends tell me I had to go to Rogue. So after a morning at the aquarium my family and I hit it up. When we got back to the restaurant area we couldn't even get through the door to get our names on the list. After finally slogging through all the people we were quoted a twenty minute wait. I would have loved to look around their store a bit, but it was so packed no one could even move. We finally got pushed to the back of the store by the windows, where there is a little hallway connecting the store to the tasting room. There were boxes, hats, shirts and merchandise strewn all over the floor so you couldn't even move and had to stand right on top of each other (in a room that was well into the upper 80s). After a while we notice that the hostess keeps calling the same parties, over and over again, and I mean she called one party for over thirty minutes without moving on. Some simple management tweaks could have gone a mile here Finally after 80 minutes she called our name, nothing like being an hour off on a quote. As we went upstairs I expected the place to be packed. Nope, in the area we sat in there were 9 open tables, and over the course of the meal they never dropped below seven open tables, and yet they still had an insane line downstairs. The waitress we had did not know anything about the menu, anything about their beers, was unaware they did tasting flights etc. But what i really loved was that the servers were so busy serving as bus boys that they couldn't pay attention to their own tables. Again the lack of management was appalling. Actually looking back I don't think I saw a manager over the course of the two hours I was there. When it came to the actual meal itself, the beer I had was a Moms Hefe and it was flat and tasted like it might be nearing the end of its life. Very un-Rogue. The food was simply mediocre, but honestly we were so put off by everything else by the time the food came that it could have been the best food ever and I would be hard pressed to give this place another star But the piece d'resistance to the whole meal was when I came downstairs to leave and a woman who looked like she had been waiting a good while exclaims "Good, a table opened, maybe they'll seat someone now". I then told her that, including the table we just left, there were ten open tables upstairs. The woman became quite agitated, asked the hostess if that was true, which she denied and said every table upstairs was completely full. I then mentioned that her twenty minute quote to us had been off by an hour, and the agitated woman said that was the same quote she was given. Her party then walked out behind me with what appeared to be several more behind them as well. The most poorly managed place I've ever seen. Given the physical location, the high standards of the Rogue brand, and its location as the Rigue flagship this place should be so much better.

Good Chow and Great Beer. Fun crowd and friendly/helpful staff. Well worth the visit. (Good rainy day spot) My favs - Big Ass Barrel Doppelbock and Double Dead Guy. Take the tour and hit the gift shop to take home some goodies. A top notch craft brewer that Oregon should be proud of. Rock on, Rogue!

I really want to like Rogue's brew pub. The location is great, I like Rogue beer & I'm in the Newport area surfing at least a few times a year. Unfortunately the food is disappointing, the service is uneven and there's just not enough good vibes to justify visiting just for drinks. On a recent visit our onion rings were undercooked (barely crispy on the outside, semi-raw batter on the inside) my clam chowder was lukewarm and my Irish coffee was...well it tasted like watery fast food coffee with a shot of whiskey. They offer an impressive variety of styles and quirky flavors of good beer but the the bar's awkward layout (packed with tables, very few windows) and the bathroom's distant location (downstairs, across a crowded gift shop and through the brewery) don't encourage me to stay.

I've been to Rogue many times. A few times we have gotten bad service (wait times, etc.) but I really love this restaurant. When I was younger, I used to love getting the little frisbees that came with a kid's meal, and I still have those. The experience itself is really cool. You walk through the brewing area, into the gift shop area, then up the stairs into the dining area. The wait area is tiny, but the dining area is huge. We always request to sit by the windows overlooking the boats and beautiful Newport if we can. All the time, my family used to order the steamed clams, which are very good, but they only have them part of the time because they use fresh clams. The food is good, too. I've been going here for years, so I have had many great experiences that you just don't get at huge country-wide restaurants. They are the experiences you get at an Oregon brewery.

First off some of the beers are exceptional, and all are at least well thought out and creative, but with most bottled beers of Rogue brewing being $5.50 per 22 oz bottle or higher at the supermarkets, while most of the other larger size Micro's manage to keep the average 22er at say $4.50 or even less, I rarely buy bottles of Rogue brews. In fact, many of the Rogue 22's are at $6, $7, $8 bucks a bottle at an Albertson's, Fred Meyers' or Safeway......you've gotten pretty big, very successful( and you've earned your success, don't get me wrong!) but with your growth you should have managed to lower costs compared to the breweries who are much smaller than you, yet still for the consumer we pay a lot more for your beers?

Really great atmosphere & the bleu balls are very tasty, if you're going here, you're going for the beer, food is just a welcome addition.

I'm generally a fan of the Rogue pubs. My favorite location is the one in Astoria. The staff is better in Portland, but the location and view is better in Astoria. Anyway, we're not talking about Astoria or Portland, are we? No. We certainly aren't. I wasn't a fan of the Newport location today. It started by being asked for our IDs. This is never a problem, of course, but it became a problem when she walked off with them and was gone for a minute or two. I'm sure she was checking them under a black light or with some machine, but if you're going to do this you do it when you walk in while I'm standing there. If you must take them away, you say that you're going to. I am not comfortable with someone walking away with my ID. The waitress was pretty much fine otherwise, but she was generally awkward. The food was fine, but it wasn't anything special. We were there with my parents and my mom got fries that she very specifically didn't order (they had to be added to what they ordered if you wanted them). We all ordered a side of ranch, as well. We were charged for the fries that weren't ordered and we were each charged for our ranch. I haven't been charged for ranch with fries in years. You shouldn't charge for it and if you're going to, you should say something. I was also specifically asked how I would like my hamburger cooked. I'm not sure why. I asked for medium and got well done. I don't care too much if I don't get asked how I want something cooked, but don't ask if you're going to ignore it. The restaurant itself seemed like it was thrown together from garage sales over the years. The pub here was a second thought to the brewery. Sure, that's how it works, but it's not supposed to seem like it. The three-star rating is a bit reluctant (versus a two), but I like Rogue as a whole. This location seems to need some serious work, but it won't stop me from going to the other locations.

Rogue is known as one of Oregon's leading breweries. On the forefront of the craft beer, what we as Oregonians are now being known, one would think they would actually try.....:( rogue you disappoint again. The nitro I ordered was pored so poorly, the burger we ordered med-rare was well done. The waiter/bartender had hair down past his shoulder not pulled up and was very rude, guess rogue does not let you taste the beer before buying....

Beer = good. I wish I could recount every beer me and the girl tried off of our individual tasters trays, but I can't. I know the Smoke Ale was very lovely, like drinking a barbecue is how I said it at the time, and everyone who heard that said, "You know, it sounds weird, but that is pretty much dead on." It's like how I say "Blue is a flavour" in regards to any juice drink. It makes sense when you try it. We didn't try the food here, but the selection of booze was awesome, the bartender was a pretty damn cool dude (though he stole an "I Love You" out of me, that was intended for my girlfriend, but as he claimed it, I suppose that makes it his. Bastard!" It was a good night at a fun place. We'll definitely head back.

Terrible, terrible customer service. Seven months ago I went to Issaquah Brew House (a Rogue establishment) with friends for dinner. It's been a favorite of mine for years, and we usually have a great experience. Back in December we had a very negative experience and I wrote the company about it. They never responded. I wrote again, without a response. I wrote a third time, and never received a reply. Then I started receiving newsletters from the company via email, which I never subscribed to, addressed to the email I had written them with. I contacted them via their Facebook page, asking them if they were ever going to acknowledge any of my emails. Today I received a response from Jack Joyce of Rogue: "You said - staff says. Deal. Neither is always right." The rest of the email is equally insulting, rude, and condescending. I've never encountered such customer service. I know I've recommended the Issaquah Brew House in the past, but never again! My original email, written on December 1st, 2012: I was at the issaquah Brewhouse today -- I am a regular and usually have a great experience. Today, unfortunately, that was not the case. My friend, her kids, my daughter and I went for lunch. Our server took our order promptly, but then we waited and waited for our food. For over 45 minutes. When my Kobe burger and onion rings arrived, the were both very cold. The cheese was rubbery and the bacon was limp and clearly NOT the Neuskes bacon on the menu. I spoke to the server and she offered to correct the problem. When she came back ten minutes later, she brought back the exact same burger that had obviously just been out in the microwave! And worse, the burger was still cold, the cheese even worse, and the bacon still inedible. I waited an hour for a cold, inedible meal. I was so disappointed today that what should have been a great lunch was the opposite. It's unbelievable to me that the kitchen staff would just microwave a $16 burger and send it back out to me. I've been a regular customer for years, but after today's experience I am seriously questioning whether I feel frequent or recommend your establishment in the future. Jen Jack Joyce's response, SEVEN months later? "I have responded to every consumer complaint for 25 years, at least where light would help. Got facts on 12.8.12: "It was a very busy day yes a wait for food about an half an hour. Lynn was the server she was working in the mason's room. She took the burger back to have them make her a new one. She told Nikki what was going on and asked her run it as soon as it was ready. Nikki watched them cook her a new new burger. Nikki would kill the kitchen boys if they would even try to do something like that." Your description and ours too far a gap to bridge - a response would not provide light. You said - staff says. Deal. Neither is always right." Shame on you Jack Joyce and Issaquah Brewhouse!

Finally I can afford to drink some Rogue beer! After walking through the labyrinth, that is their entrance, and up the stairs past a unmanned "wait to be seated" sign (very tricky Rogue nation headquarters). I arrived at a place where I could finally drink some Rogue beer! I had some family with me so we ordered 8 different tasters and there was 3 beers that were drinkable. The worst beer was the chipotle. It tasted liquid smoke in cheap beer. Even though I enjoyed 3 of their beers, Dead Guy is still their best product. The food was alright. Burgers and dawgs, you have to try real hard to botch that up. I am confused about the whole American Kobe beef thing. I'll chalk it to marketing. Overall the beer is drinkable and food is good.

Dare. Dream. Believe. Rogue has all the marketing of a well polished machine. During the tour the guide tells you all about how different Rogue is. Rogue, says your chaperon, is a small revolution conducted through the way their brewery conducts business. A revolution fifty states strong and twenty six countries wide. They shake things up, push the envelope, dare, dream, believe. I dare you to believe that regardless of whether or not you are twenty one years of age, you won't be served in this place. Can you blame the folks at the top for hiring an inept and surly townie? No. Was it that townie's fault that the local school system didn't equip her with the ability to determine 21 years from 12.23.1989? No. Can you still imagine the disappointment when you take a friend who recently turned twenty-one to a brewery you were once proud of and be turned away? "We don't take those here" stated the bartender. They don't accept official age verification documentation from the state of Minnesota? Not when it's provided with an accompanying state issued ID from the Department of Motor Vehicles? We don't want your kind here? All this on the eve of the day when we honor Martin Luther King's legacy? I dare not dream or believe in the Rogue revolution any longer. My vigor is gone. Skip Rogue for the revolution is not all that is advertised.

We accidentally found the brewery looking for the aquarium. Of course we stopped and we were glad we did. You wind through the brew tanks to get to the pub, and once you're there, you wait to be seated. We had a few pints and dinner: I had the halibut and chips; my companion had the shrimp melt. We also shared a bowl of beer cheese soup. Delicious! We also took home some brews and a few shirts from the gift shop. Great service, great food!

On a recent weekend some friends and I went crabbing on Yaquina Bay. We dropped our pots and needed some liquid love while dinner was finding its way into our traps. Fortunately, the Rogue has a dock. That's right... we docked the mother effin' boat at the brewery, disembarked in our ridiculous rain gear, and headed in for lunch and liquid bread. This place is quintessentially Oregon Coast. It's just the right mix of salty and scruffy, with just a hint of second home nearby. While the Portland brewpub tries in vain to capture the magic of this beer hole by the sea, it's just not able to conjure the sheer joy I get every time I wander through the brew house to get to the bar. The beer selection is great, and the product is consistently awesome. The food is even pretty good (for a brewery). The atmosphere isn't fancy, but it isn't the faux-shabby that so many coastal dives aspire to. It has the look, feel and smell of a working local brewery. That you can boat to. For a boy raised in cornfields, this is the kind of thing I could not have imagined doing twenty years ago. Thank god this place exists to remind me that I live in heaven.

We really love Rogue beer, but my goodness were the hostesses rude! We were waiting to get upstairs to get seated and they could not have been more unpleasant. i don't think anyone had trained these people on how to treat a customer. I got the feeling that everybody that worked there thought they were cooler than everyone they were serving. It was a bummer because we love drinking their beer down in LA and we had a totally different idea of what the company would be like. I wish everyone would have been as welcoming or friendly as we expected them to be or at the very least showed some understanding of customer service.

Stopped in at Rogue for a flight of beers. Good as usual. I always like paying homage to the home of my favorite beer. This place is fun to check out. The bar and restaurant sit above Yaquina Bay and the marina. It is super easy to get to off Hwy 101. Check it out next time you are in Newport. Fun atmosphere and great beer--staff is very welcoming and love to explain the beer. Check out the tour if you are there around 3 PM. Food is pretty good too...

Where do I start? I guess I should first start by saying that I am very lenient in my criticisms in restaurants. The server was very nice and it was her first day so I cut her some slack. She was however thrown to the wolves with what seemed like little training. Other then that the meal was a disaster! The wait went from 20 minutes that they quoted us at the door to over 45 minutes. Once seated we waited another hour for our mediocre food. Raw bacon on the BLT and underwhelming Ruben. (One meal was skipped and comped because it wasn't out for another half hour). When the check came an extra ruban was added to the check. The food is already over priced. The "manager" came out to comp the missing meal but was didn't want to listen to any complaints we had about the overall management of the restaurant. If you can, go for beer and that's it! They are lucky they make good beer or they would be bankrupt. They have too much seating and not enough chefs or competent staff and no structure to the management. The brew pub give the Rogue brewery beer a bad name.

My husband and I came here for my birthday weekend after a morning at the aquarium. First of all- the hostess in the gift shop area was less than stellar. She really looked like she hated her job and every customer who talked to her. We waited about 20 minutes for our table- and naturally, being at a brewery, we wanted a beer while we waited. The only option was to buy a bottled beer and drink it in the gift shop. We were seated against an "employees only" back staircase. Our waitress was fine, but lacking any interest in us. Again, she didn't seem thrilled to be there. The beer was super tasty. The food was very mediocre. Flavorless salmon sandwich and greasy crab melt. The ultimate problem: the bathrooms are outside. You have to go down the stairs, through the brewery and across a parking lot to reach them. And- they had an issue with the water while we were eating and they couldn't give us any water or wash any dishes, so they served us in plastic cups. No explanation of what happened and no discount or apologies. Such a let down.

Very good fish and chips that are second only to Capn Yobys in Kelso, Washington. The beer is of course great and they give you a free sample after showing them ID. The women at the next table were delighted to be asked to show ID as two of them were obviously over the age of 40. While we enjoyed our meal, we were sad we didn't get burgers as the burgers we saw around us looked incredible. If we had stayed longer, we would have gone twice in one Oregon Coast visit. I am looking forward to getting back here.

Rogue Brewing-------Oregon's Coor's on the Coast. A Tourist dream come true thanks to the great advertising but Locals know the truth! Their beer is made with the cheapest ingredients to ensure high profits & high quantity regardless of quality standards. Every drink off the tap results in a major headache the next day. The Rogue is ALL advertising & no quality....they want to make money off the brainwashed customers that buy the hype. On an environmental note, it has been noted that they dump in the Yaquina...not something I want from the company that makes my beer. Save your money & buy quality beer from a local pub that sells the best beers from oregon & beyond, such as Bier 101.

terrible! we called to make a reservation, which they do not take the day of which is whatever. so we went over an hour early to make sure we could get a table big enough for my birthday. the 2 girls at the front were so incredibly rude and unhelpful and after waiting over and hour, they gave our table away!! we tried going upstairs to have a beer while we waited longer, but were rudely stopped and told we could not go upstairs. so, we went to the other location located on the bay front. the waitress was also incredibly rude! and was extremely pushy on serving beer to my pregnant friend. she was awful and very abrasive. and when we asked if i could get a membership because it was my birthday and you get a free beer and tshirt. we were rudely denied. and when we went to split our bill up, the waitress was even more rude if thats even possible! i will never ever go back to either place or recommend it to anyone. terrible rude service.

We were bummed after we drove from LA to Rogue in Newport, OR, only to find that despite what was advertised on their website the distillery wasn't open Mon-Thur. We ate at the restaurant and both the hostess and our waitress were very unfriendly. We were very disappointed with our experience until we took the brewery tour with Nikki. She was a really great tour guide and completely turned our trip around. She was very knowledge about their brewery. We decided to give it all another chance since she was serving in the bar. We ended up having a great time and she recommended a couple local places to check out and all were great. Nikki completely changed my opinion of Rogue.

I was very excited to stop here on my most recent trip to Oregon. When I lived in the OR, I was not of drinking age so never got a chance to sample all of the amazing local breweries. This one was realllly fun. Lots to see since you get to walk right through the brewing area on your way into the shop and restaurant/bar upstairs. Ocean view! Well, it's an inlet but still you can't get that back in Colorado. You can get 4 taster glasses for $6 and I highly recommend that since they have a huge selection of beers which change often depending on the season, as well as guest beers. I loved the red American ale and hazelnut brown the best. So great to see pilsners and lagers on the menu too, something else you don't see in CO. I will admit though, I didn't love the majority of other brews offered up. In addition to having board games, the food here was top notch and service great. I had a small cheeseburger and my dad and husband had huge Kobe beef burgers that got raves. The beer mac and cheese was also delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you're on the Oregon coast even remotely nearby. And if you do stop by, become a Rogue citizen because you get free HUGE beers and free-shirts on your bday - and you can go to as many breweries as you want on that day. There are some within a stone's throw of this one (the headquarters). Too much fun.

I really like it here---it feels like a true brewpub with all of its quirks. For example, to reach the restaurant you have to walk through an meandering path through the production areat, which I think is fascinating to see (a mini-tour whether you like it or not). The selection and quality of beers is outstanding, and the staff are knowledgeable about the options. The food is definitely not gourmet, but in a way I'm glad they keep it simple but do it well rather than go down the overpriced but mediocre gastropub rabbithole. This location moreover has a gorgeous view across the marina, and it right next to the public pier so we were able to stop in during a crabbing expedition.

I like Rogue brews, but what I'm really reviewing here is the eatery Brewer's on the Bay, located within the brewery itself. Upon arriving I was taken to the table of my choice and handed a free "taster" of their seasonal ale. It's nice to get a taste before you invest in the whole pint. My table looked out over the marina on Yaquina Bay...very picturesque. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable, and the service was friendly and fast. I had a mushroom cheeseburger and a pint of Santa Reserve. Both were a little spendy but worth the money. Their burgers are exceptional...a half pound of Kobe beef, which I believe means that the cows come from Kobe Bryant's ranch. Seriously though, lots of nice touches: my mushrooms were white oyster mushrooms and the cheese was white cheddar from Rogue's own creamery. Also they didn't skimp on the tomatoes or red onions, and the wasabi mayo was on the side. Another plus: you get the option of waffle-cut sweet potato fries versus regular spuds. For burgers and brews I say this place would be tough to beat.

I'll echo what many have said here. The food is too way expensive for the quality and the proportions, and the wait can be long. If you're with adults, pop into the bar and try a sample pack of the many Rogue beers that are available, which I think are quite good. Skip the food. Don't spend too much time so you won't spend too much money.

By far one of the most unique breweries I've ever been to. Me and the wife took the tour which is offered at 3 pm daily and it was well worth it. These guys have a very blue collar attitude toward brewing, evidenced by the fact they brew in converted grain silos purchased from a debunked dairy farm ! The tour took us through the entire brewery while it was in full operation. We stepped over hoses and watched the workers fix the bottling line. After the tour we were drooped of at the pub located above the mash tuns. By far one of the most rustic pubs I've ever been to. The all wood interior and view of the bay made for an awesome beer drinking experience. The beer was excellent, however, it should be noted that these guys use pacman yeast in all the beer. This results in some unconventional takes on classic beer styles. Highly, highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I recently went on a camping trip up the entire west coast from San Diego and we HAD to stop at Rogue Brewing. We fortuitously made it there 5 minutes before their tour, so we got to see the whole facility, including the distillery!! It was such a cool tour and it was so interesting to hear about the history of their company:). Our tour guide was enthusiastic and really informative. After the tour, we went up to the pub and had some food- BF got the reuben and I got fried chicken- both were great, we were starving! We also did samplers and every beer was amazing. The bartender made us a concoction called "honey nut cheerio" with a honey beer plus the hazelnut brown and that is my favorite beer I've tasted. Everything we sampled was amazing. I will be recommending to anyone going up to that area that they must stop at Rogue, get a tour, and get a sampler:). It was so fun- thanks for the awesome time!!! :)

The beer selections were some of the best I've tasted. Between my wife and me, I tasted 11 different beers there, only for the soul reason that our first pizza was burnt which I deduced from our server who gladly won us back with more beer and we supped on good clam chowder before the pizza finally arrived. The pizza was mediocre, and we fully knew that this place was all about the beer. I do wish that we should have gotten a seafood pizza, since they stated in the menu that the beer goes best with seafood.

This review is for the brewery, not the restaurant. It seems like most people reviewing here have mixed up the two places. The brewery tour was charming, down-to-earth, and fun. Sure, there was no free beer at the end, but the brewery shop and the laid-back atmosphere makes up for it.

So much potential for this Rogue location! This brew pub is actually at their brewery on the south side of the Bridge in Newport, OR. I have to agree with others that the shop/waiting area thing does not work. On my first visit I was told nothing at bar or dining room available for one person ALL night. I thanked them as well as congratulated them on being busy on a weeknight in Sept. As I reached the exit a manager (?) yelled to me through the vats that they had found a seat. Wow! When I reached the bar I found they had not only one seat but six and five empty tables on the bar side alone! I will leave this issue for management to address. Now, on to the good stuff. Bar staff was quick with a taste of Rogue's daily selection. They asked the right questions and knew their taps and found me just the right beer. The menu is extensive and this location has a few nice fish items including a tuna fish 'n chips. After a few visits I can say the Shrimp and/or Crab Louis Salad is a good choice, yummm chicken wings, fries that accompany sandwiches are fresh and done just right, and one of the lower priced items is a tasty real beef hot dog that can be as plain or fancy as you like. Food is fresher and better than most pubs....but it is the beer that brings you here. They also have cocktails made with Rogue Spirits gin, single malt whiskey, rum and I think a vodka. I have not had one of their cocktails, but lots of potential. They seem to be some sort of secret. In other words, you learn about them when you see someone order one...and ask, "hey what's that?" As I said, lots and lots of potential if you can first get past the shop/waiting area tangled web and imaginary wait list. The bartenders were first rate.

Get away from the tourist traps and come here. Insane amount of great beers on tap (was it 25?). Great food (tuna tacos, cheesebread, salad, etc) and fast, friendly service. You get to walk through the brewery to get to the place. There's usually a wait and not the most comfortable digs to wait in, but worth it. Go for a walk around the corner to watch the crabbers, the loons on the bridge and just be outside. Tons of parking a welcome change for crappy tourist trap places that are overpriced.

I'm very surprised to give the home of Rogue Nation a good review but I liked the presentation and knowledge of the bartender. Beers were organized well on the chalkboard by the window from light to hoppy and then dark. This is the best presentation I've seen of the scattershot of beers Rogue produces (too many in my opinion, focus and create quality beers not blindly shoot pisswater at every category). Odd entry sequence to the place brings you by the bathrooms and full brewery/warehouse setup before going upstairs for beer and food. ***Please note location of bathroom on way in, its the only one and a bit of hike back. I did the popular taster tray because they had so many beers I hadn't tried. Surprisingly I found two I liked and 4 others I don't need to try again. A bit expensive for what you get but I actually enjoyed this outing.

You can taste chocolate notes in the chocolate stout, the chipotle ale was good (my sister's favoriate), juniper pale ale is alright (very light), but the double dead guy ale was my favoriate! They were all good.

Really, I give this 3 1/2, but not quite 4. The wait was long (and we had an impatient 2 year old with us), which is understandable, but you have to stand in the gift shop, they have no real waiting room. Once we got seated, it took FOREVER for our waiter to come over to us. He was friendly when he was helping us, and I guess they were busy, but service was pretty slow, even considering the busy-ness of the place. They did have some games and toys to entertain my 2 year old, so that's a plus, though. We had to ask the server a few times to remind him of things, like getting some juice for our toddler, and getting to-go boxes. As for the food, it was pretty good. We split an appetizer (the spicy Idaho potato things, whatever they were called), and each got the black bean chili in a bowl. Both were delicious. And the chili was VERY filling. We ended up taking half the appetizer as well as about a cup's worth of chili home for leftovers. My son ordered the grilled cheese, so nothing too much to say about that. A grilled cheese is a grilled cheese. My husband ordered a beer which he liked and I ordered their house-made root beer with sarsaparilla, which had a really nice, different flavor to it. We also got cheesecake to split for dessert that had some kind of rum topping. It was pretty tasty as well. It was a nice dinner as far as the food, and the staff were friendly, but the service, as I said before, was pretty slow, and our server was sometimes a bit forgetful. Overall, though, I'd say we'd go again if we were in Newport.

Get there early for lunch. We were seated quickly at 12 pm. There was a long line by 1 pm. The beer was great; the food was average. The location was a lot of fun.

My family and I were driving through from California and decided to do the brewery tour and then ate in the restaurant. The tour guide was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. We didn't experience any issues with the service, and we were given a beer taster when we sat down. My husband ordered a sampler of four beers for $6.50 which seemed reasonable. The food was good, and my daughter was happy about keeping the frisbee that her food was served on. I also ordered the root beer which was very good. Overall an enjoyable experience.

They have great beer with lots to choose from and if you can't make up your mind, get a sampler trey...or 3. I like the funky atmosphere and it's pretty cool the way you get to walk through the brewery to get to the bar. The food is pretty good. I did have a pizza at the NW PDX location that was a greasy mess (won't do that again), but the Rueben is one of the best I've ever had...my mouth is watering right now!

Beer: GOOOOOD, and I am not a big beer drinker. Food: Oyster shooter with five oysters....yum. Food was decent but I would focus on the beer. Tour: Short and sweet. Overall: Great time! I have never toured a brewery so it might not be best to use this review, but I had fun and Brian (our guide and later on server) was very nice.

Fantastic selection of beer! Great harbor views, and awesome food! Staff very friendly and fun! A Must-stop while in Newport! Went on a Friday night, very crowded, fifteen minute wait. Dissapointing that they wouldn't let us grab a beer while we waited to be seated, but not bad =) lots of rouge merchandise to look at! They really do have ALOT of different beers wish we could find some at stores in California other than the famous Dead Guy Ale. Try the "Double Dead Guy"! Fun environment & lots of free samples!

The jewel of Oregon brewing. These guys are the masters and innovators of the Oregon brewing scene. Not only do a high percentage of their beers taste great but they have decorative and snazzy bottles you can be proud to display on your table after you pour it into your glass. The service is mediocre here, but what do you expect when you are getting high quality beer. Be patient grasshopper. The food is okay, it is elevated by the beer. In my opinion coming here is a treat. Do the sampler for sure. But if you have to pick some winners, pick stuff you can't get in your home town. I use to live in San Diego so I would loud of on the double IPA and other obscure styles I had not heard of till I came up.

They bring you a nice little "beer taster of the day" right when you sit down, and their clam chowder really is the best in the area (only surpassed by the crab & garlic chowder at Local Ocean Seafoods, which is not clam chowder if, say, you or your visiting mom want CLAM chowder). Roomy - especially in winter - and cool views of cute boats on the bay. I go here almost every time I'm in Newport.

This was my first time eating at Rogue Restaurant and it was OK. We went during Seafood and Wine Festival Weekend, so we had the hardest time getting into the parking lot because parts of it was blocked off. The building had an industrial feel and it was a laid back atmosphere. There was a yeasty, fermented beer smell, but I guess that is expected because it is a brewery. I wasn't that impressed with the menu. I ended up getting the clam chowder, which was good, but not the best I've had. If I was more of a beer drinker I would definitely go back because they have a huge selection of beer.

Give me a cold glass of Hazelnut brown and one of their juicy hamburgers and I am in heaven! Not to worry all you "veggies".....there are a great selection of specialty salads etc! Enjoy the birth of craft, gourmet beers! Endless selection!

Good brews, good chili and chowder, but sandwiches were lame. Cmon guys, when you charge 12-14 bucks for a sandwich, put enough meat on it to cover the bun! I've never seen a sandwich with so little on it. Root beer for the kids was incredibly good, kids plates are frisbees - which they loves, view is cool, but I wouldn't come back for the food, just the beer.

We sat in the pub at the "cell phone free" window. After choosing our samplers we looked at the menu and found their perfect companions....hot dogs! My wife had the "dachshund"(sauerkraut) and I had the "heeler"(blue cheese). By far the best hot dogs we had ever had. Of course the beer was superb. At busy times be patient....overall well worth a visit.

We come here every visit to Lincoln City. Always happy with the beer--my favorite being the Snickers (a mixture of the Chocolate Stout and Hazelnut Brown Nectar). The food is always satisfying brewery food--for us it's typically a burger or the halibut fish n chips. Whether you sit in the bar or restaurant the service is friendly and timely. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

Restaurant portion is extremely dirty. The walls were black along the floor. The floor in the kitchen was disgustingly dirty. Our salt and pepper shakers had a thick grime on the bottles. It's in heavily need of a remodel. With all the extension cords running all and the dirty dining room it's was not a very good experience. The food is pretty good. The rueben was really good although lacking suerkraut. Onion rings were really good also.

My wife and I stayed across the street at the RV park. So we visited this place twice, but just for drinks. Both times we had a very poor experience from entrance to leaving. I don't think we would ever return. First, the hostess was extremely short with everyone, very uninformative about the situation, and generally not very good at her job. You need to be seated at the bar or the restaurant and under no circumstances can you go to the bar to have a beer while waiting. Only if you ask, are you informed that you can have them open a bottle of beer from the fridge in the waiting area, but again, you have to ask so we had no idea until the second visit when someone else asked. The hostess had a disagreement with another wait staff employee about two open bar stools in the bar area. The hostess refused to let us sit there but the waiter, determined that my wife and I were able to determine if it was okay to sit there if we wanted. It was fine, we had plenty of room, a view of the bay, and were able to have our drinks. The first time we were seated in the dining room. We told the hostess we were only having beers, she had no issue putting us in the dining room. The waitress took our order for drinks, and came back to ask us for our food order. When we told her we were just having drinks she replied in full volume to us "Oh man, really, huh". Like it was some how offensive to come to a brewery and only drink beer. The second time at the bar, the bartender came over, took our orders and left. He proceeded to hand beers out to the rest of the bar and then came over to us, empty handed, and asked again what we ordered from the bar. There are only two of us, we ordered one beer each. It doesn't take a genius to remember that, but he also didn't write anything down. The final issue is that, if you drive over the bridge into newport and go to a bar, you can get a number of the beers on tap at a bar of $4.25 or so. But at rogue brewers on the bay you pay a minimum of $6 for a beer. I have never been to a brewery where the beers are MORE expensive there, then at the bars they deliver the beer to. The food is pretty expensive, with most apps being around $10 (even for edamame) and most dinner items being $18 to $25 with burgers being $12 or more. We can't comment on the quality of the food as we did not order any.

The brewery tours might be okay, but don't waste your time eating here. The service was terrible. How many times do you eat at a brewery without the waitress asking to get you another beer. It took almost an hour before our food showed up. We were literally standing up to walk out when our waitress showed up with our food. Once our food arrived it was pretty poor. Small quantities for the price and some of the food wasn't even warm anymore. We were served cold poutine (an appetizer) at the same time as our meal. Extremely disappointed overall.

Super sad about this stop, we had high hopes as we love the rouge brand but service was extremely slow (even though there was only 2 other families in here eating) cocktails tasted watered down, crab cake sliders were luke warm and had a frozen patty taste to them and were dry, chicken burger was dry and my friends $10 coffee cocktail took forever and was made with old cold coffee. We definitely will not be back and wouldn't recommend it. Update: waited was very nice and comped the coffee cocktail

Established in 1988 and the taproom/restaurant shows it. I don't think there has been any remodeling or updating since that time. I was hoping for something cool like the new Chicago Lagunitas or New Belgium facilities but here it's a bit sad. Actually I can say without a doubt it's the most depressed looking taproom I've ever been to. In the tap room is just a dirty little window that you can't even see out when sitting by the bar. It's a shame considering the awesome location and potential views. Also the service was sloooooow. I'm not a huge fan of their beers despite their national popularity so we had a taster & left. I hope they consider a 40 year anniversary remodel.

I know you pay for location but wow. At least fix the place up a bit if you charging top dollar. I did like the little mini tour. Nice people with that yuppie Bohemia vibe. This would be at home in North Portland. You can buy in there store as well

Wow! Incredible selection of craft beers with a free sample presented with our menus. We chose a flight of 7 for $13 and got a few more free tastes. Very flavorful brews! My companion had their humus and I had chili and fried cheese curds with jalapeño jelly. Surprisingly kid friendly for a brewery.

We had a great time on our tour of Rogue Brewery. It is a surprisingly large and complicated operation, and is growing every year. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly.... the history is very interesting. This tour is an exceptional way to spend an afternoon. We went on a Sunday.... so they were not in full production. I would suggest going on a weekday so you can see the bottling line in full swing. Great beer! Great spirits! Great tour! "Listen generously. Speak straight. Be there for each other." Great words to live by! Thank you a wonderful afternoon!

Pros: Tasty Kobe burger with bacon/white cheddar was awesome (medium rare was perfect). Wasabi mayo was mild and smooth, a nice complement. Tater tots were good and tasty. Dressings are home made. Dinner salad greens very fresh. Clam chowder was good. Server was hustling. She handled full down stairs room and was up stairs and down quickly with requests. Prices very reasonable. Great marina and bridge views. Cons: Consistently dirty dining rooms every time we've been there. Both dining rooms need a good scrub from top to bottom. Menus sticky. Lots of flies today. Extremely crowded and noisy so go early. Cleanliness issue earns less stars.

They make good beer and they serve good food. From the 40 taps, we enjoyed the 8-hop and the chipotle. We appreciated the freebie samples that arrived less than a minute after we sat down. I would have given five stars if all the sample glasses didn't smell like beach or if the server cared when we informed him of the smell.

Very bizarre brewpub right in the actual Newport harbor under the massive bridge. Strange parking lot is intermixed with their actual operational brewery so get ready to dance with some semi-trucks. A few oddly pointing signs sent us driving around the area and into the Rogue Distillery house. Surely the kitchen and brewpub are not actually inside the brewery warehouse?? Well, surprise, they are. You walk through the giant red cylinder and follow some makeshift signs to a hidden kitchen and restaurant that has been jerry-rigged into the side of the brewery. Staff was nice, tap list was all Rogue beers with many things you can easily find in bottles. Only a few beers on tap were brewpub-only types. Food was subpar- very disappointing given how good the menu looked. Kobe beef burger was overcooked and unseasoned. I hope it wasn't real Kobe beef or I would cry in my sleep. Generic fries and pickles served with everything. Pretty lackluster overall. Food quality was similar to beer quality with a lot of letdowns. One or two of the golden IPAs were actually pretty solid. Overall, I'd scroll past from now on.

Best clam chowder I've ever had! My boyfriend and I both got clam chowder to start and agreed that it was amazing. The rest of the food was somewhat of a letdown, but he liked the beers. He asked for the Kobe burger to be prepared medium-rare and it came out well done. He was all excited about having Kobe beef for the first time, but it was overdone instead of juicy and tender. I got the kimchi crab sliders. The crab was dry, but I liked the sweet chili sauce and pickled flavor of the kimchi, which tasted similar to coleslaw. My boyfriend got all kinds of Rogue swag too! He got a few t-shirts, a hoodie and a hat from the gift shop. Worth a visit for the clam chowder, the beers and the Rogue merchandise!

Not a good restaurant at all but great beer. Just go to the bar. Great location but dirty windows overlooking marina. Understaffed and too busy for 3 pm lunch on a Wednesday resulted in very slow service but pleasant cheerful waitress. Not a great ambiance in the restaurant. Tables crowded together and pretty low budget almost like restaurant was a total afterthought. Kids Mac and cheese super nasty and flavorless. Kids chicken strips decent. Kobe beef burger actually split in half when took a bite. Not sure what that was about but otherwise tasted good. Adult grilled cheese (managie fromage) very tasty but cheese not completely melted. Chowder was very good. Beer selection top notch Flight options very. Cool which is why 2 stars instead of 1. Not a good restaurant but great beer.

Amazing food, beer and service!!! The macaroni and cheese was delicious! I Tried several different beers (we did a flight with 7) and loved them all! This review is for drinks only. Having dined in Yachats, we were not hungry, but stopped in for some tasty brew and spirits. They were very busy. Waited awhile for a table. Service was on the slowwwwww side, but we weren't in any hurry. I opted for a tasting board of four. I was brought a piece of paper to write down my choices. Tried the Shakespeare, Chocolate Stout, Double Chocolate and the Mocha Porter. All very good! Meanwhile others had a full Double Chocolate, a Mocha Porter and Husband tried one of the spirits. I will say that the food we saw around us looked quite good. The menu was pretty extensive, and had we not already eaten we would have had a go here. Gift shop is very cool. Full of funny signs. Didn't mind hanging out waiting for a table. Outside there was a gal with the difficult task of cutting up endless pumpkins. (Pumpkin ale time). Apparently they are doing 1,000 pounds a day...amazing!

The beer is always delicious at Rogue, I'm never disappointed. I dined for a late lunch today at the bar by myself. (They had 3 bartenders/servers working in the bar alone.) Ordered the Blue Balls and a cup of Clam Chowder. The order took almost 40 min to arrive. The balls were half the size I'm normally accustomed to when ordering and were lukewarm/cold. The soup was warm, but not as hot as I would have expected. The bread served with the soup was barely toasted and cold as well. Obviously my order had all been sitting in the window for quite sometime. Why didn't someone else grab it and bring it out? I never had a check back to get my beer re-filled or to let them know about my food. I waited over 15 min for my check, which never came, and instead walked to the bar register to pay. Highly disappointed in the level of service and food today.

Food was very good and the staff was friendly and competent but there weren't enough of them. Two thirds of the tables were empty but we still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. I marked them down for lack of cleanliness as well. We had halibut fish and chips, salmon salad, and Kobi hamburger. They were all good.

Stopped by while I was vacationing in the area, and my God what an incredible brewery. They sell all their world famous beers here in 22 ounces or in growlers to go. They also offer a tour of the brewery for those wanting to educate themselves in the art of brewing. I took a bottle of Rogue Imperial Pilsner Mori Moto Signature and cannot speak highly enough of this beer. If you have time to stop by and check out a first class brewery I highly recommend this, Woohoo ! As good as it gets !!

6/12/15 Lunch. Had a nice lunch with a great view of the harbor. Ordered the Fish & Chips upgraded to Halibut for $17.00. Not bad but the fish seemed slightly water logged. Their IPA was great. Very nice service people. Will go back (but won't upgrade)

The brewery tour here is a must! You get to sample a couple of their beers and spirits, and when we went, there were only 2 others on the tour with us, which was great-more laid back. Eric was our tour guide and he was awesome, funny, and knowledgeable. We even got to ride a little train from the main building to another, that was pretty fun. The restaurant menu was not bad, some things were a little pricey for what they were, but we ate here twice and I got a different salad each time, both were delicious! You can sample beers from a list, and I fell in love with a few different ones (and I'm not much of a beer drinker). All in all, a great experience and I would recommend it if you are visiting or near Newport!!

Our family came to brewery to enjoy a quick meal before heading off to the Newport aquarium. While the lines are packed for the brewery tours there were open tables everywhere and most people hadn't been seated and the rest were waiting for food. The place was understaffed to support the amount of people that wanted to eat. After waiting over an hour we were standing up to leave when our food arrived. I wish we would've walked out because the food was worse than the wait.

Awesomely fun family friendly restaurant! Great views of the bay, awesome beer cheese soup, cheese curds, beer battered halibut and of course awesome dead guy and chipotle beer! Sierra was amazing server! Super friendly and fast!

$13 for 7 tasters, great selection though not ALL of the brews they offer. Wanted to buy the tea porter but none for sale downstairs. Loved it, friendly staff. A lot of reviews mention the food isn't good, but the poutine was excellent and great paired with beer.

Wow, was the food terrible. And I didn't even have very high hopes to begin with. Yes, they have a lot of beer choices, but the bun on my sandwich was stale, the tots were tasteless, and the shrimp cocktail was drowned with entirely too much sauce. Not only that but the brew pub is located down a odd maze of walkways. Just all around not a good experience at all, which is unfortunate.

Food was meh..... It was good and basic pub grub. Prices where a tad high. Beer is amazing and the staff where friendly. Took thee beer tour and was wowed how big rogue was. You definitely feel the passion of this brewery and happy to see a independent standing strong. Definitely a must visit for the beer enthusiast.

Slow service, ok meal. I think if you are a beer drinker you may like it, however, if you like good food, it is not the place. Ambiance was dirty industrial (in purpose), so no much appealing from an overall experience.

I will give 5 stars on the Brewery tour! It was informative and fun and got to try different type of Rogue Beers and the train rides for the kiddos were children friendly. However the lunch before the tour was mediocre at its best. First, it looked like they were short handed so they had several huge parties and it seems like they cannot handle it. We waited for 45 minutes before getting a table of 7 and another 30 minutes to get our food. When the food came, my Fish Taco and my husband's fish dish was good. However, one person had ordered a burger Medium Well and it came out VERY Well to a point of dryness. Also we mentioned that we had a pregnant woman in our party so things needs to be cooked well, but her Salmon came to the table undercooked. The service was great, but we did notice a lot of empty tables upstairs while there was a huge line down stairs waiting for lunch. Maybe because this was a tourist attraction they should hire more staff and improve on the quality of cooking the food.

Since leaving my initial review, I was contacted by a (former?) Rogue employee via Yelp. She took the opportunity to attack me personally, and remind me that "they're are cameras". I'm unsure if this was a veiled threat, or if she was just alerting me to one of the breweries amenities (like running water and a working television). She reminded me that my opinion doesn't matter and that Rogue is a brewery (good to know). While our experience at Rogue was worthy of a single star, this follow up from their representative makes me wish I could leave them no stars at all. Bottom line: terrible service, mediocre beer, forgettable food. Review at your own risk!

Tourist Trap, waste of time. High price beer at $6.75 a bottle. You can buy much better beer at Walmart. Rude bartender at the "Spirits Bar" and he is bad for business along with the VERY high prices. Don't waste your time here.

It was okay, they had a miss communication with the hostess, we we ended up being in the middle of a bartender waitress arguing match.... not fun but I understand why they where frustrated. The food was okay be was okay nothing amazing but good.

What fun this place is! Yes, it's the brewery -- they have tours. This is a mainly a factory-brewery, so it's basically a big cold cavern -- wear a sweater! Yes, it's the factory store -- you can get any of their year-round beers, plus all the special editions. Yes, the new distillery is on the same property -- just a separate building, and not on the high-traffic route. Yes -- it's great for families as well as you and your drinking buddies. They even have a little choo-choo train for the smaller rogues in your family to climb on and hang off :\ The line to get a table for Sunday lunch was waaaay too long for us, but the shop was what we were after, anyway. We'll be back for the restaurant when its not Father's Day (duh.)

We spent an excellent afternoon at the pub here. Our server started us off with a complimentary taster of the Chipotle Ale. From there, the tap selection is impressively extensive, and they offer pick-your-own flights. The selections are listed on a whiteboard in red or purple, and you can choose either 4 red or 4 purple (the purple flight is a little more extensive). We did one of each, and tried: Beard Beer, 7 Hop IPA, Pumpkin Patch Ale, Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout, Raw Cider, Peach Saison, Lapsong-something, and... one more I can't remember. This covered a range of flavors, and we liked some more than others, but overall our beers were quite enjoyable. We also tried the steamers and the halibut fish and chips. The clams were steamed in Rogue's Irish Lager, and were fantastic. The broth was flavorful, light, and not too heavy with butter. The halibut was battered using Younger's Special Bitter. The fish was plump and fresh, and the batter crisp on the outside, but it could have used a touch more salt. Our server was attentive and friendly.

I was excited to get to the Rogue brewery. We took a break from our tour of coastal parks and lighthouses for lunch in the brewpub and a tour. Lunch first. Popular place. Many people crowded around the gift shop? made it difficult to move about and look at the stuff they had. T shirts and such and rows and rows of bottles and bombers, both warm and chilled, to go. They had just about every beer they brew available for purchase, which was great to see. Our table was ready quickly and we were taken upstairs to a nice window table overlooking the harbor. As we had wanted to catch the tour at the top of the hour, we got right to business scanning both the food and beer menus. Our server arrived with samplers of the black IPA for us. We both got a few taster flights, salad for Kris and salmon sandwich for me. The mom's hefe, Chocolate stout and the always reliable Captain Sig's Northwestern Ale were my favorite. Predictably, the Brutal IPA was my wife's beer of choice. I could have gone for a pint after, but we had a tour to catch. I've been on a bunch of tours and this one was somewhere in the middle. It was a production day so we got to see the bottling line in action. Would have loved to have a pint on the tour. Overall, things were just a bit chaotic everywhere. The keycodes for the bathrooms and the odd "hops" and "barley" signage seemed to baffle and confuse everybody. Of course I'm midleak when ladies walk through the door confirming I don't know my hops and barley. D'oh!

Great beer in a cool location. Long wait but worth it. Fun going through the brewery to reach the restaurant. Had a window seat by the marina, and watched people check their crab pots. My girls, loved their homemade sodas! We enjoyed the beers. The deep fried cheese curds were amazing! Great sauce! Good kids menu. Good chowder.

Frankly, I am not even sure there is much point in providing a review. Rogue is a monolith in the brew scene, not just in Oregon, but nationally. They could arguably make a case for being the best brewery in the country. Personally I don't think so, but on the right day you might convince me. Not every beer they brew is good. In fact, they've produced some beers which in terms of creativity probably seemed like good ideas, but really kinda sucked. If we are talking body of work, then they have created more masterpieces than duds. My winters aren't complete without one of their Double Chocolate Stouts. Their food? It would be easy for them to simply rest on the laurels of their brews, but....they don't. I am not one to harp on the merits of kobe beef versus others, and they add so many accompaniments to their beef that its hard to get a feel for the taste differences. However, their kobe beef dishes are outstanding and usually delicious. Most of the stuff on their menu is. Word of caution: If you order a Coors Light at the bar, you will be humiliated and in all honesty deserve it. What kind of person walks into a legendary brewery and orders a Coors or Bud? The kind that walks into a Chinese restaurant and orders a cheeseburger.

Excellent brewery and distillery tour. Very informed and well spoken tour guide. Plus samples from both brewery and distillery! Ok for children and they will enjoy the train ride, albeit through the parking lot...still fun.

Must-try: the Beard Beer. Would return?: eh...if I'm in town. Rogue is well-known the country over for having some top-notch beer, and this is a great place to enjoy some. However, the food is so-so compared to how much I like the beer. If their beer was not as good, then I wouldn't worry as much about the food.

First, my group of 6 waited 35 minutes for a table. They said it was going to be twenty. This didn't upset me too much due to the fact that I thought it was going to be a worthwhile experience. We were then sat. We asked for water and lemon with our water. Lemon didn't come till our meal did. We asked for straws three times. Finally she have them to us after we got our meal. I asked for a cup of clam chowder, that did not come till after I received my meal... Not happy. My aunt, she asked for a chicken salad. They put tuna on top of her salad. When she explained to the waitress that she ordered chicken and not tuna the waitress began to argue and said it was chicken and not tuna. My aunt said, well then this is extremely dry chicken... This is when the waitress took the salad. She brought back a plain salad with the "chicken" picked off the top. Really? We then got our meal. Three of our bacon cheeseburgers had no bacon.. When we said where is the bacon, she goes, oh were the bacon cheeseburgers? Really? Really? Really?! We were so frustrated. No apologizes.. No remorse. Maybe it was just the waitress or maybe that's the hipster warmth?

sorry to hear to many complaints about the restaurant service recently. but either way one of the best brews in the west coast and probably the whole country. They also have particularity energetic brew tours. I've always had prompt service of the tables...though I guess food is just standard BUT the point is top notch beer worth going out of your way for in a state pumped full of brew houses.

We didn't make it for the brewery tour, but it was still cool to see the place where the beer is brewed. We visited Newport exclusively to visit the brewery. It was worth the drive to the coast to visit the brewery, but the brewery and restaurant were not impressive. Judging by previous reviews, we didn't order food. Service for beers was ok. The dining area was meh. It was nice to try some new things you can't get outside of the brewery. The shop was nice. I picked up a bomber of the voodoo doughnut brew.

Ok first off, awesome location and entrance into the restaurant itself. So cool going through the brewery, smelling everything, awesome. Anyway, back to what I want to talk about. They make the best Ruben sandwiches, everything (Sauerkraut, meat) is cooked in one of their house made brews. They don't skimp on anything, they are very generous in portions. They also make a very yummy shrimp melt, and their burgers are good too. But the Rubens are so fantastic, that I have to get one every time (I live in Eugene, so my trips to the Brewery only happen when I am out there already). Still, this is my go to place for food when I am at the coast (there is nothing edible in Florence by way of nice restaurants at decent prices. They have nice cafes, but the restaurants are overpriced and few). I don't understand the complaining about the service, I've always found the staff to be very courteous, thoughtful, and aiming to please. Hell, when I was out there with my mother, one of them kept pouring on the charm so much we nearly chocked when he made assumptions that we were sisters (to your ladies going, the male waitstaff is very cute, just a note.) They're also fast in getting you your food. True, the line is long to get in to eat, but the restaurant itself is a bit small (brewery first). You just have to be patient They also do a complementary sample of one of their brews. Ok, their beers. I recommend their Shakespeare stout, chocolate stout, and my mother is fond of the hazelnut stout (or something hazelnut).

The beer selection here is just down right awesome. The clam chowder was alright and the beer cheese soup was really good. Beer...do I really need to comment? Okay, I will. Both brews I had were fantastic. Brutal IPA (large) and their sample of the day was good.

This is where you will find the sweet nectar of the Gods! Being a huge Rogue Ales fan from Hawaii, I had to make my way around the coast to heaven (aka Rogue Brewing)! It is a brewery, so don't expect anything fancy. If we got there a little earlier, we would've made their last tour. Oh well... Not knowing what to expect, we walked in following the signs to their shop and the stairway to the bar/dinning area. We spent some time looking at the gift shop. I had to remind myself that I would exceed weight limit on my baggage if I bought all the beer I wanted. We headed upstairs for an early dinner and drinks. I got the beer sampler since I couldn't decide what I wanted. And it was a good idea! Between my friends and I, the food ordered was mac-n-cheese, clams, fish n chips, and a chicken sandwich. The clams were really good! Let's face it, beer is excellent. Food, not so much. Service was friendly and helpful. I am very happy I got to visit one of my most favorite breweries.

Pro: awesome to walk through the brewery! Enjoyed the atmosphere and cozy environment. Free sample when we sat down. Con: We had to wait 20min to get a table and the staff seems very flustered and disorganized. We were seen to by 3 different waiters. I was interested in their beer not their food so I was very disappointed that it was a 'pick your own' sample of just 4 beers. I was hoping for more of a sampling. Once the waiters took out order for a sample they only came to our table 3 more times( to deliver food, clear food, and pick up our bill). Very impersonal service on the day we were there. We brought a growler to fill but none of the four we sampled stood out. Overall, we might come back to try our luck on our next trip but more than likely we will skip it in favor of better offerings along the coast.

I don't drink alcohol, so you may wonder why I would give a 5 star rating to a brewery known for its selection of alcoholic beverages. The answer is because the food is great and the prices are reasonable. When I want a good burger, this is the place to go in Newport. I lived in Newport for over 2-1/2 years and this was always the best dining experience in town. I enjoy a good burger and fries. I always got that here. They have a good selection of different types of burgers but they are always made to perfection. My wife enjoyed the variety of salads that she could customize. The great thing is the prices were very good for the amount of food you received. Rogue has two locations, one on the bay front which is more like a restaurant and this one by the port where the actual brewery is. Both serve the same great food, but kids should go to the bay front location (they have a pretty good kids menu as well). As for the beers, my wife loves them. You get a free sample of their daily special when you sit down. They have a huge selection of their own beers plus nationwide products. Prices seem a little high on the alcohol but I'm no expert of what exactly alcoholic beverages should be priced. My wife thought they were fine. And delicious. At the brewery location you can also get a tour of the facility and they do have a gift shop set up so you can take some of the specialty beverages home. They will even give you a free Rogue shirt if you come in on your birthday to celebrate. Overall this place is great. The food is excellent and the prices are good. The food and beverage selection is fantastic and anyone passing through should definitely stop by the Rogue Brewery for their next meal.

Love this place. The beer is always amazing and do many unique flavors! I've had the pleasure of trying a few(ask the girl at the bar to sample some before you order). Hazelnut Brown is still my all time favorite, can't beat it. And I will admit the maple bacon is pretty yummy too. This last trip I got the Mac n Cheese, wow! If you even just "like" Mac n Cheese then order this. It's done with two types of Tillamook cheese and topped with bread crumbs from their hazelnut brown bread! Wow, creamy heaven. It's not too heavy or thick at all and definitely not "cheese sauce" either. It's so good with a beer; might I suggest the Chipotle beer with it? :)

Great Beers! Horrible service! Come on Rouge! I actually compared our experience to being at a McMenamins last Thursday when we were there. Service absolutely sucked! The lady behind us was cursing because she couldn't get the server to come back after they were served there last round. We waited at least 15-20 mins before we had the same guy come by and grab our sheets for our flights of beer. Once those showed up and we figured out what we wanted, then another 20 mins of waiting. That was even making eye contact with him and pointing to empty glasses of beer. I saw no organization what so ever with the wait staff, they were everywhere!

What can I say, I this place. I have been here many times and have had an amazing experience each time, and as a former restaurant manager I am very picky. They use local ingredients and their prices are very affordable. You must try their spruce gin. I love the smell of the trees here in Oregon and they have managed to bottle it in their gin! I have way too any beer favs to name here. Just try them all, they're amazing. Love the Halibut fish n chips, oyster shooters, the clams. My guy is a fan of their burger and the cheesesteak. They're doing great things here! Come check them out!

Here is the lowdown after visiting a half dozen times..... The tour is cool to go on at least once, it is only 1x a day so call ahead for the time. The beer is good, try a sampler. The maple bacon beer is super tasty. Skip the food, it is average at best. I know from experience, don't ring the bell in the bar, it means you are buying the next round.

So I wavered between 3 and 4 stars and landed on 3 because even though everything was pretty good, my food wasn't. When you enter you walk through the brewery a little bit, then into their gift shop, and there the host takes you upstairs to be seated. There are great views of the marina and all the boats. The first thing the waitress brings is a 4oz taster of the day. I thought that was a nice touch. Then we ordered drinks, I decide to get the taster tray for $6.50. I can't remember now if it was 4 or 5 4 oz tasters, but either way a good deal. My boyfriend got a pint of their IPA. The food menu was huge. It took us a little while to decide what to get. I finally landed on the salmon melt. I love salmon, cheese, and bread, so I thought, how can I go wrong? Well, I did. Out of all the delicious sounding entrees on their menu, I choose the one thing that wasn't good. To me, salmon isn't a particularly fishy tasting fish and this was so fishy I couldn't eat most of it. I even asked for tarter sauce so I could try and cover the taste up, but it didn't help, because the tarter sauce tasted funky, too. And I got charged $.50 extra for it. Somehow I managed to get half the melt down. I guess it was because I was starving. My boyfriend loved his meal, the bleu cheese meatball sub. And, of course the beers were delicious. The service was great, too. They were busy, but we never felt ignore. I'd probably eat there again, just stay clear of the fish. Luckily, it didn't make me sick.

A quick review as this place already has enough reviews. Sue and I came here for lunch. We split the 3 piece version of the Halibut and Chips (market price) and we also each had a bowl of the Clam Chowder ($5.95). You know that the beer is good here, but why so expensive? Almost $6 for a beer here? Are we in NY?

Meh on beer. Interesting spruce gin. Highlight Kobe burger paleo style w salad. Rogue creamery blue cheese and beer cheese soup best I've ever had w sausage bits. Hate bathrooms stinky near entrance and walking through brew room kind of dirty. Not like sparkly Goodlife or everybody's. kind of worried about OSHA code.

I don't drink beer, their wine is fine. The reason for my 4 star rating is the Kobe beef burgers! OMG--heaven. We will go back again and again just for those burgers, medium rare. Service in the bar area is so-so, pleasant but fairly slow and we had to ask twice for our ranch dip and also had to ask to get the bill. But again. The Kobe beef burgers! :)Your review helps others learn about great local businesses.

Get a Rogue Citizenship card & immediately start saving money! I bought my son a T-Shirt (Relax he's 23!) and got a discount. Got a discount on our tasters and snacks too. Dead Guy Ale, American Ale, Morimoto, & OBF 23 Porter...our favorites of the tasters we tried! Luckily, these are all readily available at my local BevMo. Now I need to get my son the Voodoo Bacon Maple Ale because he actually wanted me to bring him home an actual Voodoo Doughnut but I told him that it wouldn't travel well. Beer's better anyways.

The brews are great. Our server was really friendly. Food was a little disappointing. The fish in the fish & chips were greasy. The fries were really good though. The crab melt could have been better for the price. Atmosphere was cool, but the temperature was too hot.

If you're coming to Newport, take the time to visit The Rogue for lunch AND a tour of their brewery. It sits right on Yaquina Bay affording you beautiful views of the waterfront. After eating (either in the bar or dining area) go walk out on the fishing pier and talk with the folks hauling in Dungeness and Red Rock crabs and Chinook salmon. I had the tuna fish and chips on another Yelper's recommendation and it was fabulous. Done to perfection. Had a small serving of cole slaw on the side. This is a redo dish for me. And wow! what a wonderful selection of beers. (They start you off by bring you a little glass of beer. Sweet.) Everyone is friendly and the service is good. Can't beat that.

Love their beer. Wanted to love the place. Wanted to take a tour, but couldn't get it done. They need a restaurant consultant. There is NO process and no focus on the customer. This could be a gold mine. They need serious process improvement.

My husband and I stopped in here along our road trip and had high expectations. We were in the end unimpressed. We tried many beers and most were not very good. They remind me of beers I drank in France, very sweet and not very bold. The food was ok but not great. The best part is the building itself.

  • Jackie K.

Go for great beer...but...I agree with others, skip the food although I took off a star for the food since there is a restaurant with a long wait while I was there so they clearly want you to eat there. We had the grilled cheese and it was weird--the choice of cheeses did not mix well. Fries were okay. Beers are great--my favorite is the hazelnut brown. The tasting flight is great--large pours and you write them down yourself so you know what you are drinking later. Service was great. We also went on a tour of the brewery and our tour guide was new so she struggled but was really nice. Nothing really new but they do all their brewing there so it was cool to see and it's a longer tour than most breweries, no limit to the numbers, and free (though no tasting) so worth it for the tour.

Came back a couple of days later for lunch after a freezing morning at the aquarium down the road. It wasn't busy, yet took way too long to be seated. Then once we were given a table and served our tasters (which were great), we realized that it was almost as cold in the dining area as it was outside. It had to be less than 60 degrees in there. We ended up leaving without ordering because we were so cold. As we walked out, we noticed that all the patrons were wearing jackets, parkas, and beanies. Go to the Rogue public house on Bay Blvd. It has the great food and service of the brewery, without the freezing dining area, and weird gross bathroom situation.

Incredible beer selection and incredibly tasty beers. That's where all the four stars are going. Oh, that and no children being allowed in the bar area. Was pretty happy about that. The food is meh and the building is a little confusing trying to get in. Definitely worth it for the beers.

Good food, awful service. Our waitress spent most of her time at a table with a bunch of guys while we and another table were ignored. We watched her take a refill order from one guy and deliver it to him before any of our drinks, which we had ordered 10 minutes earlier, still had not arrived. She was condescending, and downright rude. She didn't ask us if we wanted to order more beer, instead grabbing our cups and walking away, only to return with our checks. It was a very frustrating experience from a restaurant we'd been excited to go to. Not sure if the delicious burger would be worth going back for.

I am going to keep this short, with three points. 1.) Worst brewery tour in all the world. A waitress was sent down, she hastily ran around pointing things out, much of which were wrong according to their website. It lasted 5-6 minutes tops. 2.) The service people here are HOSTILE, at best, seriously. 3.) The food, which I guess was okay, is no longer okay, it's awful. Over cooked this, mushy that, just plain bad. Go somewhere, anywhere else. You'll thank me.

I took my friend visiting Newport here and we were pretty happy with our experience overall. Service : the service wasn't the best as it seemed either understaffed or possibly the servers just weren't terribly attentive. We never got water or were even offered any. Our tables weren't set either, and the decor left much to be desired as far as charm goes. That said, the server at least brought us what we ordered and was somewhat timely until it came time for us to get the bill. Food : Though I've heard the food wasn't anything special, I was actually pretty satisfied with my meal. I got a Kobe Blue Ball Sandwich and it was really yummy, and the meat was cooked well. Moist and tasty! My friend ordered the Reuben and while I am not usually into those, it was pretty good even to me. We also had a selection of beer samplers which was a fun part of the experience. I am not a huge beer drinker but I thoroughly enjoyed my Pink Spruce Gin gimlet. I was unaware of the spirits that Rogue offered, but will definitely be buying bottles of them regularly. The experience overall was good as far as food and drink go. Service needs work.

I would steer away from this place. I've been to Newport so many times and there was always a bad feeling about this place. I just felt like it wouldn't satisfy my seafood needs and I was right. My halibut fish and chips were horrible!! Also don't get the blue balls (meatballs with blue cheese) that was a waste. The Kobe hamburger was decent but pretty spendy. But not only did the food failed the service was horrible. They were understaffed that day and my waiter was running around with sweat dripping down. I felt really bad for him cause he was trying hard but it didn't really make the experience any better. Trust me... There's so many other places to go eat than this place. I recommend Local Ocean and Saffron Salmon. I know that's pretty expensive, but you won't be disappointed. Also Newport Cafe has the best clam chowder.

The only reason I gave three stars was because it is an awesome place and has good beer. But.....the pub had horrible service. Hey Bill-when glasses are empty and you bring another beer maybe take away the dirty empty glasses. Taking dirty dishes would be nice too. And, two forks, one knife and one napkin? Really? And it would be great if you checked in every so often. Why yes! I would love some water! Not good.

I've been to the Rogue Restaurant a handful of times. The food and service are great but what keeps me from really loving this place is the huge warehouse feel. It's always freezing in there and I hate to be cold when I'm trying to relax and enjoy a meal. It can also be loud and it just lacks the coziness that I look for in an eatery. That being said, it's a great place to bring kids. Get a table by the window if you can, they will be entertained until the end of time by the birds flying around the harbor. It's amazing. They also have crayons and activity sheets and all the usual kid paraphernalia. The flight of beers is really fun. Five small beers to taste, it's pretty perfect if you can't usually drink one or only drink one beer. Only caveat is that you have to work at it to get five beers that taste very different from each other. But it can be done! I've always liked the food but this last time I ordered from the specials menu - fish and chips made with Albacore Tuna. Holy mackerel! This might be the best fish and chips I've ever had. And, as a recent transplant to the area, I've been eating them EVERYWHERE. The pieces were small and the fish was dense and juicy. I really LIKE Albacore this way. The batter was so light and not greasy at all and filled with freshly cut herbs and must have been made with beer. But, oh yum. I haven't stopped thinking about it!

Stopped off after a day at the coast. Beer was tasty- esp fuss off, and the food was good, service was also good. Tip- the Kobe burger was really nice except ordered medium and it was med well. Next time will order medium rare.

We are currently cruising up the west coast on our honeymoon and visiting the Rogue Brewery was definitely a dream coming true for me. We've been huge fans of Rogue beers and I felt like this was the holy land. We were not disappointed! We got to the brewery around 12 and were seated by a window. The place wasn't busy yet and it seemed like every employee was going above and beyond to give us a pleasant experience. We had a free Chocolate Stout taster which happens to be one of our favorites so we were quite pleased. For lunch I had the french dip and my husband had the fish and chips. Both were delicious. Our beers, Roguenbier and Wet Hop were both great too. We came back at 3:00 for the brewery tour. (The website and facebook both say there are tours at 1:00, 3:00 and 5:00 but only one is posted. I knew to be aware of this thanks to yelp!) Our guide was knowledgable about the brewery. Sure, the tour could have been more in depth but it was free so I'm not complaining! You get to see the keg cooler, the bottling station, the keg filling area and the beer brewing machinery. We also had several sightings of the brewmaster, John Maier! We joined the Rogue Nation at the end of the tour and after we headed up to the bar for a few tasters. Overall, we had a great experience at Rogue. All of our expectations were met and if we're ever in Newport again we will certainly go back. Note: I read quite a few terrible reviews for the brewery but my thoughts are that you have to be a good customer to get good service.

Over hyped and you know it. This place has gone too far to come back. The beer was good. Service was a joke. Apparently a "rush" on the coast is so taxing that anyone who shows up after is completely ignored. I remember why the last time I was there I vowed not to come back. However, the Chowder was pretty dang good. Coming from Portland you could see the overall lazy attitudes from staff. We were waiting on more people, were offered a sample, but no other drink. I always have a #1 rule: Water. Bring some damn water. Want a good Newport experience, try anywhere but here. A lot of places get overlooked and the locals send tourists here by habit. Try Sada's, Szabos, Pannini's, Local Ocean,

This place is amazing!!!! Love the beer, the location and the ambience. Wish I was there to drink the pumpkin beer that was in process! Thanks Rogue for sponsoring the Peoples Coast Classic, and supporting the Arthritis Foundation! You rock!

A great brewery experience. SOO many beers on tap. On top of that, there is an amazing view of the water. If I lived on the Oregon Coast, I'd be here all the time.

Overpriced way below average food. Good beer. Would not recommend. The food was terrible and so overpriced. We go through Newport quite often and have always wanted to try eating here. We will not be back!

If you're a beer person, and traveling along the coast, you must stop at the Rogue Brewery! I love that entering the restaurant/sampling space requires you to meander through the actual, active brewing area. So many breweries just offer a manufactured experience of the beer-making process, but here they invite you to check it out. The line to be seated was huge, but we got our table fairly quickly. We ordered the local (more expensive) burger to accompany our beer flights, and I was so impressed. I'm a meat snob, so it's not every day that I actually finish an entire burger, but this was so good. Absolutely worth the extra few dollars to upgrade from the standard burger. My companions also ordered an oyster shooter, which came with an extra oyster (which were all huge and delicious). The beer sampling process is a blast - definitely go for a flight! Our waitress was really helpful in giving us recommendations, and we ended up trying over 15 beers. After all that sampling, my crew was definitely NOT in any condition to drive, so Rogue gets bonus points for being located right on the water - we spent the next few hours wandering around the coast to sober up. Perfect.

I tried, I really did. 3 strikes and you are out. Tried 2 previous times and thought the poor experience could be attributed to being there during prime time on a Saturday. This time we were there around 4 pm on a Saturday. Was told by an indifferent "hostess" that it would be about a 10 minute wait in both the restaurant and the bar. Another gentlemen came down and said he had a table for us in the bar. OK great, cram us in next to the counter. It was extremely hot in there , to the point of being uncomfortable. We did get our tasters right away so at least that was OK. Ordred chowder, it was luke warm. Beer was almost as warm as the soup. As for the service, once our order was finally taken, I got the impression that since we just ordered chowder and fries that our server could care less. We were pretty much ignored, but yet the table directly next too us was positively doted on. Way over priced on both the food and the beer. I'll stick to Deschutes, thanks.

This business could make so much more money if they would staff the place with enough people. I felt bad that there was only one waiter running around taking everyone's order he looked exhausted. Not to mention that when we got in line for the restaurant no one took out name we thought it was just a line and call up, till someone came in after us and put in there name. The hostess should say something to the customers making sure she took down everyone's name and spelled correctly she mixed up a few names. A Lora became a Beth and there was no Beth in line. The food was okay I had the Salmon sandwich and the bun was way too big for the small piece of fish I received. The fries were hot I'll give them that. On our way out we wanted to buy some beer, but there was no one downstairs to ring us up. That's a shame we would have bought more beer than anything but no one was there to provide a cashiering service. Come on Rogue you make enough money that would could hire a downstairs cashier along with another hostess so the one you have doesn't have to run up and down those stairs leaving customers clueless about how to get on the list for the restaurant. There were people so pissed about not having a cashier downstairs to ring up beer to go orders and apparel that some people just walked out either without purchasing anything or stealing, saw one guy just grab a hat and walk away, after being told there wasn't a cashier. Don't get me wrong the beer is great but come on hire some more staff to help push orders of merchandise.

Great beers. Nice pub grub, terrible, terrible, terrible service. We drove down here on a beautiful winter day. We hit up the beach nearby, for a bit, but really, we came all this way for Rogue. There weren't too many people hanging out, and they mostly seemed to be locals. We ordered beers and a bunch of food, but the service was so lackadaisical that we skipped ordering a final round of beers and deserts. Sorta disappointing, seeing how far we'd come for their beer.

Rouge Brewery is amazing! When you walk through the doors you are greeted with an awesome aroma of hops and barley. Then you pass by the tall fermentors and can even get a personal tour through the whole brewery. They have a great little shop with all their different kinds of bottled beers. Even some from Japan that they make especially for Iron Chef Morimoto! The dinning area is simple but has a beautiful view over the Newport bay. Food is good. I enjoyed the albacore fish and chips, which you can buy cans of in their store. Rogue does an excellent job in explaining and educating all their beers too. A must stop for all Rogue adventurers.

We didn't eat at the restaurant, but we did take the tour. $5 if you sample, and $1 if you don't... Well, let's see... $4 for half a plastic cup of a stout type of beer which neither of us really liked, and yes, there was only one sample. I'd say to do the tour, but skip the sample.

    (2)
  • Kristy M.

Skip the food. Go only for the beer (or whiskey). (Four 4-oz beer samples - only $6.50!) Sit at the bar. Admire the massive number of taps, along with their creative names. Pay your tab. Exit stage left. That was easy. (Except if you have to pee, bathrooms are nearly at the entrance of the brewery. Sometimes this might involve a tango or two with the folks waiting in the gift shop to be seated.)

Had fun sitting at the bar tasting the original Rogue brews with a few appetizers. Friendly bartenders who were enthusiastic in explaining the many options on tap. The warehouse was having a sale, coincidentally, so picked up a neon 'Rogue' sign for the home bar at a great price!

Nikki was our guide for the tour, and she was very informative, and entertaining. We went on our tour in the middle of December, and were a little worried it would not be as great as it would during the busy season. However, the tour was great, and we had a lot of fun. After the tour, my boyfriend and I settled down at the brewery pub, and Nikki was also our bartender. She really made an amazing experience even more excellent. We happily joined the Rogue Nation family, and everything about our afternoon at the Rogue brewery was exceptional; We will definitely be coming back.

Food = 2 (Fish tacos... it's hard to screw this up. But, I was not impressed.) Price = 3 Experience = 2 (Hefe was nice... odd path to the bar, through the brewery, but interesting to watch the process through the glass. ... was that a pun or a double entendre?)

Poor service at best! Waited without a line for 20min before they cared they had customers. Very incompetent when it comes to the waitresses (especially the curly blonde). Not at all accommodating for orders and a complete lack for any kind of courtesy, especially for a pub. Expensive for what you get, and the menu changes seasonally with limited options. The brewery itself is neat and you walk through to get to the pub upstairs. If it weren't for the repruatuar of the beer then I would never waste my time again! This being my second time here the first was much better and what you would expect. Sad to say they have been going down hill!

For craps sake, there is no such thing as "American Kobe Beef". These people make amazing beer, but are complete idiots when it comes to food. I would rate them much much higher in the food category cause it is actually pretty good if they didn't tout they have Kobe beef. It doesn't exist in America, nor can you get it in America. It is Wagyu over here. Close relative, but not Kobe. Fix that ignorant statement and I'll rate you higher.

Pros: Great beer (that you can buy in the store) and a large selection at that. The service was great and the very friendly to our kids. The view at this location is great (if your by the downstairs windows) and the food was good but not great. Standard pub food. Cons: The wait. And you will wait. Large parties will wait and expect smaller parties to get in much faster. The entrance/ gift shop gets crowded. Kids can EASILY break things. Tip: Go out to the distillery out back. You can get tasters of their fantastic whiskey. You will know you are almost there when you can smell the rotting fish heads in the dumpster you past. Buy their beer in the store and cook up your own burger.

Great Beer with a wonderful view! I would reccommend a flight first, then fill up from there and maybe snack on some fries. Not a great place to eat a meal. We never eat Kraft mac and cheese and I didn't realize that is what the kids mac and cheese was. The adult's mac and cheese sounded so fancy so I thought it was just a smaller portion but when the kraft came to the table, it was so bad my 3 year old wouldn't even eat it.

Strangest entrance ever. I never actually knew if I was going the right way to the restaurant or not. Once we found the hostess, she told us we have to wait for the other hostess to seat us as she can't leave her assigned spot. 20 minutes later, with a crowd of 25 people behind us, they started seating us all at once - The restaurant and bar were already open and half full - its not as if we got there at opening. Anyways, finally seated we had pretty good service, but the layout of the place is so disjointed that you never really appreciate the location on the waterfront. As with my other experience at Rogue, the beer is overrated and the food isn't the best. Short of the novelty of visiting a working brewery, this place is not worth stopping at.

It's so hard to decide what to do here. On one hand, Rogue beers are among the best. When it comes to brews, they know what to do. However, when it comes to food, they really need help. We made the pilgrimage here to the home of Rogue while on the coast, and it was interesting to see the facilities, and the pub upstairs was a fun touch. Once we got our beers, though, the stars began to melt off the review. I ordered fish and chips because we were on a pier. I mean, it is going to be awesome fish and chips, right? Um, not so much. The batter was awful, and the fish was mediocre. I didn't eat half of it, taking it with me with hopes of getting hungry on the car ride home. (That ended up in the garbage.) The other person, however, had the reuben, which he said was very good, so maybe not all is lost. Maybe I am harsh, but gross fish and chips when you're two feet from the fishing boats? I will stick to beer at Rogue. And lots of it.

  • Lelay P.

Really good fish and chips, all of my friends say that the beer was good, I had the rootbeer float and it was very good, the price is okay, the people are friendly and the food is good. If you're in Newport, this place is a must to visit. p.s. I almost forgot to mention Annie, she's the bartender at the bar that is separate from the restaurant. She's friendly, amiable, and she makes good drinks. Always a plus star for me.

Zero stars... Went there today with a group of four. As we were being seated, we asked for a window seat as a group was leaving the table. The hostess advised it would take the server 15 to 20 minutes to clean the table. We then waited over 15 minutes as multiple, grumpy looking servers walked by our table countless times, never acknowledging our presence. During this time, two window seats were cleaned by the servers. Are you kidding??? We left without ever being acknowledged and we would've spent a lot of money there. Never again.

Awesome! I dragged some friends down the coast to visit the Aquarium, and of course we had to stop by the Rogue Brewery. We grabbed lunch in the pub before the tour, and I had the say - it was all great. We shared the Bleu Balls - Kobe beef meatballs stuffed with bleu cheese - and they were quite tasty, although I would have added more bleu cheese for more flavor. I stuck with the popcorn shrimp for my main, and it was really delicious as far as deep-fried tiny shrimp go - they were really light and flavorful and not sit-in-your-belly artery-clogging like you'd expect. The boy had the salmon melt, and it was simply delicious. Warm and hearty, with great flavor, I could have eaten his entire meal as well as my own. I also tried a friend's Reuben and it was equally tasty. Most of us had samplers, which is a great way to try the lesser known Rogue ales, and we got a complementary sampler of the beer of the day to start with. Overall, it was a great meal and one I'd love to repeat someday. Afterward we headed down to the brewery for the (free!) tour. It was really interesting, and our guide (who was also our server, natch) was very knowledgeable about Rogue's history, its brewing process and where the beers go once they're out the door. I quite enjoy learning where my food and drink comes from and where it goes, and I found the tour to be just the right mix of informational and fun. Witnessing the brewery in action was pretty awesome as well. I didn't think it was possible to love Rogue any more...

Excellent beers. It was hard to pick one. They gave us a sample of the beer of the day and it was just great. We had calamari as an appetizer to share. It was excellent and the portion was good. The bruschetta was great, also. I highly recommend this pub.

As much as I hate to say it, Rogue (beer) is one of the biggest rip offs in Oregon. The beer is good, yes, but the prices are too damn high. You'd think that the brewery would offer the beers at a discount since, you know, your standing at the place its brewed. But no, just like the Tillamook Cheese Factory you'll find the prices to be as high (or higher) then grocery stores. My real motivation for this review is the food. Not having eaten here for several years I decided it was time to give them another shot. Too bad, so sad for me. First, why is water served in tiny paper cups? Not only is it environmentally UN-friendly, it's also stupid. When I order water I expect to have enough to drink througout a meal. Second, while the artichoke dip was delicious, it was served with very few pita slices. With half of the dip left in the dish, I had to ask for more "grilled" pita bread and we ended up getting the extra bread halfway through our entrees. The bread isn't grilled, by the way. Nuked in the microwave is how they're warmed. Third, the food is ridiculously overpriced. The halibut fish and chips were $13.50. Three tiny pieces of fish--the same size at the childs fish meal--were provided. The Kobe burger was mediocre, at best, and certainly not worth $12.50. Service was slow. Like I said, I hate that I have to say it, but I'm saying it again: The Rogue Brewery sucks.

So I like rogue beers but the brewery tour was pretty meh. The girl that lead it, Morgan, didn't understand what differentiates types of beers. Not worth the trip, enjoy the beer in an ambiance of your choosing.

The place has a cool brewery vibe with the sights and smells of what, yes it's a brewery! The window seats with views of the harbor are nice. The gift shop is really cool and the marketing folks at Rouge have got it down with the exception of their restuarant patrons. While the service is really good the bar and kitchen seem to need an attitude adjustment. We got some steamers and the farmer's plate to start. The steamers were OK but too bitter for the rest of my party. The farmer's plate was decent but there were only 5 water crakers on a $15 cheese plate! I got the special soba noodle salad and they forgot the onions. Granny and niece got kids meals and were happy with those. Shared a calamari with wife that was good, especially the cocktail sauce with gin that was flavored with coriander. Beers were excellent and the taste was a nice touch. Morimoto's soba was really good. I asked for an 8oz of the Shakespeare Stout, but she said they were "phasing out 8's" and going only to 16's and 12's. Why not offer all? Especially if it's a high alcohol content or I just want a taste.

Absolutely loved this brewery!!! They offer free tours every day at 3 PM I believe and it was very informative. The people that work there are super friendly and we learned so much in the tour. They also have a bar and restaurant there that is great!! The location is perfect and you are in the middle of the brewery and looking out over the bay while you eat and have a drink. I really can't say enough great things about Rogue brewing, we love just about everything about it.

Alright, let me first state: I love rogue beers. My husband and I ate here for the first time. Generally, we frequent the public house when in the area. The food was "eh.", the beer was good and the service was not good. Our server, "Andi" seemed to be high or something, she had this glazed look on her face and seemed really out of it, while taking our order, it looked like her apron was going to fall down. What really irritated me about this, was that I had gotten sick from food I ate at the public house a couple nights ago; when I explained it to Andi, she didn't even seem to care. We came to rogue to get clams, they were NOT GOOD. they were tasteless - and boring and I was really shocked because just that morning I had been clamming RIGHT outside of the brewery that morning and dug up MUCH better clams then the slop they served me. You would expect a restaurant in Newport to have much better seafood. Let me re-state: I do like the beer, but the overall experience was lacking - if you are looking for good food, booze and service in Newport, go to local ocean or the chowder bowl on nye beach - skip rogue for food, go to their bar and have a beer. I will continue to get beer from Rogue, but skip their nasty-ass food.

On vacation and traveling up the Pacific Northwest Coast, ended up stopping to stay the night in Newport. Was recommended by hotel to try the brewery and it was a great place to grab a bite and sample a large variety of brews. Wait staff was helpful and attentive. The food tasted great and was served warm. Great experience!!

I love what this company is all about, they give back to their community and never forget their roots. Its nice to see. This location is awesome, front entrance is neat and you get to take yourself on a mini tour on the way to the restaurant area. They have a great gift shop ( I bought the majority of my souvenirs from here). The staff was nice and helpful. Once on the top floor, the lighting is wonderful and the view of the bay and the Newport bridge is gorgeous. They were on their high season "slam" menu, I think she called it. I was a little disappointed as I wanted to try their pizza. But being a vegetarian, I tried their veggie burger. It was the best choice. I know it doesn't sound like anything fancy, but hands down this veggie burger was the best I've ever had I've had a lot of different kinds from restaurants. Grilled to perfection, it had the perfect crunch and flavor, and not greasy. The bread was soft, and the tomato and lettuce were perfect. Throw some Tillmook cheddar, and its the boss of all bosses. My sister had the chicken strips, she loved them. Not too greasy and full of flavor, with the breading being amazing. She was excited. They had us try a sample of the Good Chit Pilsner. To.Die.For. My brother and I shared a flight of their brews, which is cool you get to choose whichever you'd like. Our favorites ended up being the Mocha Stout and the Chipotle Ale. Only thing that was missing from the night, they ran out of stock on their chocolate stout white cheddar cheese. One day, one day. Rogue, I miss you. When I visit Newport again, I'm going to stop by and catch up.

Had an absolutely amazing time here!! We first stopped in the brewery for some beer and lunch. They have this giant book that goes into detail about all the beers, which was good because I'd be totally lost otherwise!! We all ended up choosing different ones and were all completely satisfied. I had the ceviche appetizer as much meal (it was a good portion) and I swear it was better than most I had in Mexico. Soooo good!! I usually can't eat an entire meal in one sitting but I refused to move until I had consumed every last glorious bite of it. Ended the visit by purchasing a few of their bottles to take home to a friend. Next we walked over to the distillery. The bartender Rob was rad and super knowledgable, and for $1 taster shots how can you go wrong!? Had a great time and would totally recommend it. Side note: If you're into geocaching, there's one conveniently located at the base of the bridge (a short walk from the parking lot).

First of all this place is a pain in the butt to find. Came here because the Rogue Public House in less industrial Newport looked kind of crowded. Wish we would have stayed at the Public House or gone elsewhere because this locale was decidedly underwhelming. The service was pretty good, want to note that right away. The atmosphre was...well what can you say about stainless steel tables that absorb all the cold around them and wobble really bad? Menu selection was kinda limited and I was surprised based on what other Yelpers said. Food was average and priced too high. Beer same. I just don't think I will be back.

What can you really say......Its Rogue! It's kinda hard to go wrong here. The brewery itself always has tons of beers on tap that we've never heard of due to the poor distribution in the upper Northwest area. So it's always like Christmas when we visit. Oh...they have great food too.

Stopped in for lunch and a beer with the wife and daughter. Rogue at South Beach, what has happened to you? You use to be the go place for me in Newport, had the BLT and my wife and daughter had the burger. The BLT was a BLT, was not special, very forgettable. The burger was dry no mayo. A pint of Brutal Bitter was 5.75, the Pilsner was 5.75 for a mug. I might be picky, but other craft brew pubs in Oregon have better and lower cost food and craft beers. Rogue, where did you go?

Beer was good. Food was horrible and expensive! Came here after a nice bike ride around the jetty. Once I got there, I realized this place had no place to lock up my bike. After locking it up against their flag pole, went in and ordered a crab sandwich with englist muffins used as bread. It was horrible. The sandwich was mostly cream cheese and had a quarter sized amount of crab. I was very upset and brought the fact to the manager. He was willing to deduct the prices of the drinks. Although I will still buy and drink Rogue brews, I will never return to this restaurant again.

It was a fun place to check out! and an easy place to get lost in when looking for the restaurant!! Lol you park and walk up to the front door which looks like a door to a warehouse, and it is! you find yourself walking around in a warehouse, with no signs of a restaurant even existing in this place! find a little tiny store in the back, at which point we were ready to give up and leave. but then you find the stairs that lead up to the bar and a restaurant. a bar at the top of a flight of stairs!!!! Hhhmmm Red flag!!! anyways the service was great, the selection of beer on tap was amazing, and the food was really really good!! it was a great experience and worth checking out!!!! and yes I did make it back down the stairs fine even after a few beers!!! :-)

I have always had to wait forever & a day (even when it wasn't busy) to sit in the restaurant. The bar, thank goodness, there are usually open seats if your over 21. In the bar I have gotten great service, the restaurant side it was okay. The food was really, really good. I love the fact you have to walk through the brewery to get anywhere. Beware though; it is stinky, but totally awesome!! This is a great place to stop to eat, drink, or feel like a total tourist!

Came here while waiting for our crab pots on the pier to fill up.... First thing I noticed was the smell from the parking lot! Yeast, mold, or? Definitely bottling brew up in here! We entered through the tall tower and stopped after that...um, where was the restraunt? All we saw were tall metal vats that stored the brew. We had to ask a bystander where it was. They definitely need to mark the signs better. After bobbing and weaving thru crowds of people, we finally found the podium where they are taking names. The wait was only 30 mins...not to bad. They have t-shirts, beer, memorabilia, and more beer all for sale while you wait. Hmmm the typical tourist joint! The bar, we finally got to sit at the bar upstairs. We bellied up and orderd the beer sampler. Cool way to taste their beers, for 6 bucks you get 4 tastes. The bar itself was very dingy and old. Can they not do a little remodelling with all the $$ they bring in? Come on guys...put a little love in the place for cryin out loud! The wooden bar was probably older than me! I'm all down for old and nostalgic, don't get me wrong, but this was just straight up falling apart! Duct tape on the sink...need I say more! Anyway- we ordered oysters and Irish nachos- no comparison to Kells nachos! It was just alright. 1 star for the bar 2 stars for the food 3 stars for the brew

I live in Denver, the micro brew capital of the US so when I travel I like to visit the regional micro brews to see what they have that I cant get in my liquor store. I have never cared mush for Rogue beers. And the brewery did not have anything else to offer. I tried several samples and could not find a beer that hit me right. For the record I love Red Hook. Even there Mocha Stout was just not quite right for me. The food was very good and the brewery it self seemed nice but they need to have some friendlier folks there i think. Perhaps it is all the clouds or bad beer making them grumpy.

This place is definitely better than the location on the bay front. Service is better, food is better, just better.. The restaurant area is okay and sometimes runs a bit warm, but they usually have the windows open to help. They did a fantastic job of taking care of my kid on his bday which was greatly appreciated! Look forward to going back!

I've been to the Rogue Brewing restaurant three times over the past three years. Prices go up, portions and quality go down. Today I had wild Copper River Salmon that was too dry and quite a small piece of fish for $13. Over-priced. I'll try other restaurants next time I'm in Newport.

If you love rogue beer then checking out the rogue brewery is a must the next trip you make to Newport. I do a lot of crabbing at the docks in Newport. The crabbing docks share the parking lot with the rogue brewery. What I like to do is lay out my traps and had inside warm-up and grab a beer. When you enter the brewery to get to the restaurant upstairs you have to walk straight through the brewery itself. Its like you own unguided tour. Downstairs they have a gift shop with all the rogue brewery beer you can want. They have a lot of mislabeled or overstock beers on the cheap. So you can stock up every time you show up. Up in a restaurant they have excellent food and a great view of the bay. I love walking in the brewery because you can smell the hops and the other key ingredients to making a great rogue beer.

Great time at the pub! Good pub food and great BEER! Our waitress was wonderful friendly and knowledgeable. If you don't like loud crowded places this isn't the place for you. We love loud crowded places so we will be back!

This place is great! Their food is all wonderful and the beers are even better. The wait can be a bit long to get seated. The view from the restaurant is of the bay and it is beautiful. I highly recommend the hummus plate while your are trying all the different beers. The brewery tour is a lot of fun also.

Interesting stop. Trippy way to enter a pub. Good food, had the crab melt. Tried a beer sampler, great way to check out different tastes of Rogue. Casual atmosphere, good service.

Let me start by saying I have been a patron of many Rogue Public Houses on many occasions and have drank plenty of their beer over the years. I have always had pleasant-enough experiences and some of their beers are downright sublime and worth driving several hours to sit at a bar and enjoy. However, I have never been treated in a ruder fashion than I was at their brewery. where we went to take their touted tour. While at the bar prior to the tour, the bar-tenders kept tag teaming us and pushing us to decide what we wanted NOW. They had no time to give details about their beer and they had no problem turning their backs to us mid-sentence. If they were slammed, one could understand it but the place was not busy. Then, for the 3 o'clock tour, Chris came down 15 minutes late and was flippant, arrogant, in a hurry and, with several comments, down-right offensive. The tour we had waited 20 minutes for lasted a whopping 10. Half the time, he was talking so fast that I couldn't catch what he was saying much less understand the process. Heaven-forbid, ask the guy a question. He then referred everyone to their House of Spirits for the 4 o'clock tour which we easily made. We went in and said to the bar-tender that we were there for the tour and she outwardly snickered at us and said "turn-around...there...that was your tour". The whole experience was really un-cool and made me want out of the Rogue Nation immediately.

This brewery is an awesome good time. They only have one tour a day so make sure you get there in time. After the tour check out the bar/restaurant. You can also become a member of the Rogue Nation. I tried the sampler. You get to choose small glasses of bear and they serve them on a paddle. We sat by the window and watched the boats on the river. The brewers are really into their jobs and the warehouse with stacks and stacks of beer is a must see.

Service was sub-standard. Orders (food and drinks) took a long time to come out, and when they did, were not all correct. We got served different beer from what we asked for (server even acknowledged it when he came out, but didn't replace it). We got served one fish and chips out of two without the sauce (we even specifically asked for it when ordering). Food wasn't the best when we finally did get it. Prices weren't clearly listed on the menu, so there was a bit of sticker-shock when we got the bill. We won't be back.

I went to the Rogue Brewery for lunch today it was the worst Rogue experience I have ever had. Our server David was a horrible example of Rogue service. He was very rude. He seemed to have some contempt for our questions about the beer and the selection. I asked about a beer that I get at the Rogue Bay Front he told me they don't carry that brand at the brewery and went on to say it was his opinion that if I couldn't find a beer that I liked at the brewery then maybe we should go someplace else. When I got my food my plate was dirty and my food was cold. The bar area was dirty and moldy. The place we had at the bar had a great view of the area where the dishes are prepped for washing we observed mold on the walls and there was food stuck all over the walls. We had also observed the paddles they put the tasters on as they were stacked up in front of us while we ate our meal. We had commented on one of those paddles to our server that maybe it should be washed or thrown out due to the fact that it was black and growing mold he told us that it wasn't mold set it back down to be used. We took the paddle to the office in the brewery but couldn't find anyone to talk to so we were forced to use a sticky note to point out the obvious. We are local to the area and have been supporting the Rogue for many years. We will not be going back EVER!

I was a bit hesitant about the restaurant due to past reviews, but we wanted to taste the beers, so we tried it and were pleasantly surprised. The hostess seated us immediately and the waitress quickly brought us a 4 oz. sampler. She was helpful with the menu and knowledgeable about the beers. Overall the experience was fun would recommend Rogue for the wonderful beers AND food!

I wish two stars didn't feel so rotten, but 'Meh. I've experienced better.' just sums it up too perfectly. I love the rustic warehouse feel of it all, but HATE the moldy fermented beer smell (think bottle return at your local supermarket). I am fairly certain that if I ever worked there I would grow to dislike beer a whole lot as a result. To add to the menagerie of my experience there were a number of strongly smelling and unkempt men who sat down next to us. While they seemed to be having a great time and were fun to listen to the stench was enough to require us to pay our bill and vacate the premises. To their credit, however, the staff was patiently attentive as we read through the extensive menu and had difficulty making decisions. Kudos.

The brewery was fun but very touristy. Food was a little pricey but they had a HUGE beer selection. All there but I'm sure it was every beer they make. Also the bathroom is password protected.... I'm guessing so people don't come off the street and use it but I still have never see that before.

Hands down one of - if not the best brewery experience I've had. Make sure you take the $5 tour. What a great experience + beer included. My girlfriend and I are currently on a 5 week road trip. We're now at 20+ breweries and Rogue has been excellent. Go up to the restaurant after your tour and get a window seat overlooking the bay!

A tour of the Rogue Brewery is a must do for any lover of beer while out on the Oregon Coast. It was great walking on the pier, enjoying the brisk sea breeze, and reveling in a rare (I assume) sunny Newport day before taking such an extensive, informative tour. Our group this time didn't get a tasting, but I'm pretty sure I remember having one several years ago. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic experience.

Seems many have confused the Rogue Ales Public House with the actual brewery. My experience at the "Brewers on the Bay" location (near the aquarium) was fantastic. Every item we ordered had beer in it, hurray! I admit being slightly confused about the entrance and finding my way to the restaurant, but that's what happens when a brewery is built with a bar/restaurant added later. The service was fine for me, the wait was short, and the beers were grand. I was only slightly surprised at the lack of beer on the beer tour. Also, it is sick torture to have beers on tap that are not distributed (see Yellow Snow IPA).

We didn't eat the food or head to the bar this trip. We did however take part in the brewery tour. The guide was knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy working at Rogue. Seeing the inner workings of the brewery was very fun. Make sure you get to take part in one! Oh and it's FREE!!

Rogue is kind of one those places in Newport that it's hard to not go to. However, once you do the proper amount of exploring in this town you find that there are better places to eat. Not to say the food isn't good, it is good. But recently I feel like Rogue has gotten overly touristy and they have majorly jacked up their food prices. For a basic pub food dinner, you're looking at at least $12. Going to the brewery is fun, though. If you've never been there, you should go. It's just an oh-so-oregonian experience to walk through the brewery and then drink a beer that came from the room you're sitting next to. But, once you've been a couple times it starts to feel a little cliche.

If u have food sensitivities don't come here. The wait staff is absolutely not trained on how to accommodate. They also could care less. The waitress knew we couldn't eat gluten or beer yet served us steamed clams whack after a few bites I asked her if there was beer in it. She said yes "just a little". And shrugged like it's ni big deal. Well it is. They have no idea how people are affected and some allergies are life threatening. The food also was terrible.

The whole building and entrance into this place is really neat. Unfortunately their food was just okay, having gone to many brewpubs with great food I was a little disappointed. I also had a hard time paying over $5 for a pint of beer brewed fresh right there. Good beer is expensive, I know this, but that was the most I've ever paid for a pint in a brewery from that brewery. The honey wheat orange was delicious, as was the hazelnut brown. I was shocked how busy this place gets, there must not be much to eat in Newport.

*The famous "taster" is only available in the bar section, not the restaurant section. This review is for "Brewers on the Bay" bar/reataurant which is at Rogue Brewery. Just wanted to point that out first because there's another Yelp entry under that name, also there's Rogue House of Spirits which is basically in the same area - less known/visible but incredible (see my other review). My girlfriend & I each tried the taster (you get to choose 4 kinds off the menu that has some 30+ offerings) - they were all pretty flavorful but our favorites were maybe Shapespear & Mocha. Chipotle was a little bit too funky & tasted like spicy medicine. We also tried the Kobe Blue Pasta; kobe beef meatballs stuffed with bleu cheese - heavenly! The marinara sauce was great too, but the pasta itself (angel hair) was pretty soggy - I personally like my pasta al dente, but that did not diminish my overall super positive experience here.

Having been to Coors Brewery in Golden, CO, this place was incredibly underwhelming. I like the humurous approach, but it was a bit dirty and stinky and unproffessional. I probably won't ever be back - but it was worth the visit.

  • Brent C.

The whole vibe of the place was great. You have to walk through the brewery to get to the brewpub and gift shop. The tasters are awesome. Food was pretty good. The cheese fondue with beer bread appetizer was awesome! The Kobe beef burgers were a good thing to say you've had but honestly couldn't tell any difference from a normal burger but the price tag. The brewery tour and distillery tour were both good and intimate. Good time had by all and a must for any brew fan.

Pretty cool mom & pop style micro brewery.. The tour guide was enthuastic & informative.. They have only been brewing since 1988 Try the five shot glass sampler tray, where you can pick from the twenty plus different brews(Moms Hefaweiser was epic) Didnt eat,but they have a small brew pub upstairs that had a pretty lively crowd & the food smelled good. I've ony found this brew when visiting Oregon & places like Bevrages & more. if your sign up for the rouge naton they offer you a you a discout, free stuff on your birthday when you visit the brewrey ...

What a find. Driving down the coast on a road trip, I was scanning through my Lonely Planet to find things to do in Newport at the mouth of the Rogue River. I squealed like a little girl when I noted the listing for the Rogue Brewery. I demanded that we stop there immediately. There are tours, I think daily, at 3pm. We weren't able to go on that. Instead, we headed straightaway to the bar, or as straight as was possible. You have to wind your way through the brewery and warehouse to the back where the bar is perched above the gift shop. Having only been familiar with Rogue Brewing's Dead Guy Ale, which is often available at Trader Joe's, I was pleasantly surprised to find a mind-numbingly wider selection, including brews not available elsewhere. I wasn't able to sample them all, but I think I hit most of them. For the curious beer enthusiast, I would highly recommend their four-beer taster tray (your choice). I had a couple of those along with some excellent oysters on the half shell and a giant pretzel. My memory is a bit fuzzy, but the Shakespeare Stout and Mocha Portercome to mind as being quite good and the Chipotle Ale will keep you on your toes, but you'd be pretty safe with anything. Or just ask the bartender for recommendations as he was quite friendly. You'll also probably want to balance the heavier brews out with some of their lighter selection.

No stars. If I could give negative stars I would. One of the worst dining experiences of my life. I was on a bike tour and went there hoping for a good meal. I actually got served a french dip with human blood on it. Seriously. The waitress said "she would try and get it comped." Oh really? Thanks. Among other things that absolutely sucked, I wrote a complaint letter and the CEO and founder responded personally. Awesome right? Wrong. He was an arrogant jerk and accused me of lying about the whole thing, when all I really wanted was an apology. Obviously incompetence starts from the top down there. Blood. On my sandwich. I will never drink their overpriced beer again, and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same.

Cool place. All about local and sustainability. Go there when you're in town. Ask the bartender to make you a Snickers. They'll know what you mean and you'll be happy er....hoppy. :-)

Here's the best secret you'll hear all day. On every major holiday, Rogue holds a warehouse sale where you can buy their beer HIGHLY discounted along with merchandise. We picked up two cases of beer (saving about $30 on each) along with pint glasses ($1 each) and a couple of t-shirts (one for $5). Followed by a nice lunch in the restaurant. I was disappointed to learn they are no longer crafting their own root beer, but I guess it just wasn't paying off for them. We had to try the Oregon Bleu Balls (kobe meatballs stuffed with Oregon Bleu cheese) and while they were good, the side of bleu cheese made it (until my stomach rebelled a short while later). I had the smoked salmon melet which was very good and Chris had a turkey sandwich that came on a hoagie even though the menu said croissant. I think they just need to update the menu. I mean, no one's serving croissant sandwiches anymore, are they? All in all, a great stop. Especially for the fabulous bargains!

Great Beer. Food is overpriced and mediocre. Smoked salmon was poor. $14.95 for fruit, vegtable & cheese platter with the only fruit 1/2 cup of diced canned pinapple. Many better local Restraunts Saffron Salmon, Sharks and Local Ocean Seafood are far superior with better service and are a 1 minute walk from here. Find somewhere else to eat but have a beer

I've had mixed results here before, but this time while visiting for lunch with the wife and kids we had a very nice experience. My only complaint would be that their beers were poured just barely above room temp. Perhaps the new kegs weren't stored in the cooler? Anyway, other than that small issue we had tasty bar food and better than average service.

  • Derek N.

The 4 starts given on this review if for Rogue as a brewery and not an eatery. My wife really dislikes the food when I force her to eat there. I like the choices for beers with "Dead Guy Ale" as a favorite, but the food is not noteworthy. You cannot go too wrong if you have their BLT or a burger. However, I don't recommend too much else on the menu. The view from this brewery located on the South side of the bridge was worth the visit for dinner. Having beer looking out over the ship yard and bay does not suck! My wife may disagree, but I still enjoyed the time spent here.

I have been to Newport many times, and told to check this place out. My friends and I were in town for the Seafood and Wine fest, we strolled in on a stormy Friday night and decided to check it out. Because of all the parking and traffic, the lot was a bit hard to find in the dark, and it was not very well lit. We arrived after a 5 hour drive from Medford and were able to get a bite to eat, and a few drinks. We arrived around 7:30-8:00pm and felt kind of rushed to order. I found it odd that a place like this closed at 9pm on a Friday night. When we asked for ice water we were told to help ourselves at the end of the bar. Service was just "ok", the food was good, and I had a couple glasses of Dead Guy (which is my favorite by Rogue Brewing). It is kind of confusing to find your way to the restaurant...you actually go through the brewing vats which is kind of cool. I may or may not come back here, and I will probably check out another place I haven't been before returning here, but it overall was a good experience.

3 Words: Dead Guy Ale. It's won multiple beer festival awards and taster's awards. It is the bomb. This brewery tour is absolutely insane. It's on the Oregon Coast. Oh how I miss the sweet ocean air in Oregon. You can get smashed with the brewery taster tray, and then go to the nearby aquarium and stare at jellyfish.

  • Jason K.

I love Rogue. Their beer is great, well-crafted, and much more imaginative than a lot of other brewers. But I'm reviewing this place as well as the beer. Uh-oh. First they need to learn how to pour a beer without spilling it everywhere. My hands were sticky and gross from holding a sopping pint. Ugh. And it's all over the bar so I have sticky forearms and elbows too! Awesome! I was a bit hungry and it was happy hour so I ordered two sliders off the happy hour menu. What arrived was appalling for $6.50. I fully expected them to be small, but damn. Two bites of burger for over six buck? Get real! At that rate they must charge a dollar just to smell a steak sandwich. How do the owners sleep at night charging this much and paying their employees minimum wage? So as much as I want to love the place for just being quaint and cool I can't. But I will stop by to see what's new and crazy on tap when I'm in town.

Tour was great, but can vary a lot depending on your guide. We had a barmaid who breezed us through the warehouse, the previous trip was an actual brewer who explained everything which was much better. Pub upstairs was very busy and small but they had, as you might imagine, a great selection and the tasting flight is great fun. Definitely glad I went, but I probably won't make a point of going back for a couple years unless I'm already in the area.

My husband and I have had a few wonderful trips through the Rouge brewery but this one was the best. Nikki our bartender was extremely friendly and gracious helping us choose beers that we would enjoy. Lindsay did a great job of giving us food tips and Cameron's sense of humor topped off the evening. They all went out of their way to make us feel at home and make this Newport stop the most memorable. Thanks to all of you!

I don't understand the reviews about Rogue Brewery complaining about their service...we had a fantastic experience. We had the taster tray and because it was a special occasion for a certain brew, we got free samples of that. We ordered a basket of fries to much on during the tasting and they were just okay, nothing exciting. The best part of our visit was the friendly bartender. Just as I was paying our bill, I lamented about not trying a certain brew I saw listed after we had ordered...he quickly turned around filled up a glass of the beer and pushed the glass at me. He said "Why not? It's good and everyone should get to try it. Don't worry, I think we can buy you this one." Seriously, awesome. I also liked how we received an impromptu quick tour of the distillery while walking to the tasting room for free!

Didn't have time for the tour, but did go to the restaurant upstairs. Sampled several types of beers with a yummy appetizer that had sausages, mini burgers, and fried wontons while we played UNO. Left satisfied and with a box of a variety of rogue beers.

I would be happy to re consider my rating if I ever get the chance to tour the brewery. I waited for twenty minutes for someone to acknowledge my presence so I could register for the tour. Meanwhile the cries of small children drug by their parents to a stink brewery with virtually nothing to do wore at me like nails on a chalkboard. But every employee who walked by was too busy to even answer my question and or stop to actually take care of me. That seems to be the theme with rogue their beer is so good it cancels out their shitty service and incompetence. But hey if I had a rogue hangover everyday I might not be so chipper either

  • Stephen B.

I've always had excellent beer from Rogue. That never changes. However, the service has been lacking at both Newport locations on the 3 occasions I've been (twice on the harbor, once near the aquarium). The food is decent...typical pub fare with a wannabe upscale twist. The prices are a little high for a brewery, but not so high as to make you scoff, especially when you can get a Kobe burger with oyster mushrooms. However, the detached wait staff is what takes away one "star" in my rating.

    (3)
  • Jacob G.

We were in the area, so we decided to get some Rogue beer. I had been to their Portland restaurant before and the original is not much different; which is to say good beer and OK food. A bit expensive for what you get, but I was really hungry and I scarfed down my french dip sandwich. Nice view of the marina outside though the rest of the area is "industrial." If I really really want to be part of the Rogue Nation, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here and would just go to the Portland restaurant. However, if you really like their beer, then go to this one, but eat beforehand.

mmmm.... Hazelnut Brown! Great bar with choice tastings and menu selection. Picturesque view from the windows overlooking the harbor, from the bar. If you're driving through Newport, you gotta stop here! Check out the fishing vessels in the harbor and mingle with the salty dog fishermen before wandering inside for a nice cold beer. Consider it a must, whether you're a beer snob or you just like to eat. This was our last stop on our '07 brew tour through Oregon with a bunch of friends. And it was a success!

This is a great time waiting to happen. You walk through the brewery to get upstairs to the bar, or resteraunt area. They've got a gift shop downstairs which is great. If you go on your bday you get a free beer and t-shirt-werd! The bartenders are a bit surly, but I guess it's a tourist spot and they get tired of answering questions. Who cares, keep the Hazelnut Brown flowing!

  • Danielle W.

Pretty awesome place. Brewery, giftshop, pub, and restaurant. Right under the bridge. The only reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars is the lack of girl's shirts, specifically sweatshirts that were not men's XL or XXL. Lots of cool Rogue products though including the awesome selection of beers. Yum!

  • Kurt T.

This place was awesome. I really enjoyed the brewery. It's literally right next to the ocean. It was a very cool brewing facility. The Dead Guy is their flagship. All their bottles are super cool and silk screened not that paper label bullshit. They are true to their craft and their beer and it shows. My absolute favorite is the Hazelnut Brown...it tastes like you're eating candy! It's so good. They have a bunch of great beers. If you're on the Oregon coast and like microbrew I suggest you stop in. They give tours too. Oh and if it's your birthday and you go you get a yard of ale for free.

  • Claire W.

The beer is delightful. The wait for a table is longer than necessary (four tables sat waiting to be cleared for twenty minutes with ten parties on the wait list). I've eaten here twice and not been impressed by the food for the price. The fish tacos said seasoned but lacked any flavor and were smallish in portion for the $12 price tag. I'll order Rogue beer at other venues instead of coming back.

Would you like to try some Yellow Snow? If you are talking about Rogue beer, you bet I would! I recently made a near mandatory stop at Rogue during my recent road trip from Los Angeles to Seattle. Several breweries were visited, and this one was at the top of my list during my travel prep. To be honest, it was a little disappointing. After visiting other breweries such as Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, and Red Hook, Rogue does not stack up as a premier craft brewery as far as its visitor facilites go. It truely is a working brewery. They give you safety glasses when you take the tour. Whoa! Watch out for that fork lift! And the bottling and packaging area looked almost unbelievably simplistic compared to the others. So note to Rogue- go to New Belgium in Fort Collins and check out what you could be doing to improve your tour. You brew a first class beer... let's see a first class brewery. Okay, so the building lacks some of the niceties and comforts of the others metioned. So what! What are we here for? Excellent beer! And in that category, Rogue is top dog. Their Dead Guy Ale the most popular, and it does not disappoint. At the end of the tour, you get one small beer. That was really weak. But hey, I'm not looking for hand outs. I loaded my car with some 22's full of beer. We did not try the food. Just the beer and the tour. I'm so happy I can get this beer at the local Bevmo!

My wife and I were visiting Corvallis and it dawned on us that Rogue was brewed right in the backyard. We made the quick trip to Newport and got there just in time for the 3pm tour. Our guide, Chris, was super funny and made the whole experience extra fun. We then hit the bar and sampled a good portion of their very extensive draft list (the Shakespeare stout was specifically remarkable). Chris hooked it up and the whole trip wouldn't have been the same without him. Needless to say, but the drive back to Corvallis was a joyful one.

Funny little location on the bay in Newport. It is also a warehouse for Rogue River beer, so you have to walk through the warehouse (stay between the lines!) on your way to the T-shirt shop. They have a lot of designs of Rogue River brew themed shirts, and usually there is no one from the brewery there, but don't even THINK about stuffing one in your pants, because you are on camera. This becomes more apparant when you walk up the stairs to the bar. I think the best part of the place is the bar, mainly because it is perched in the top corner of the warehouse with a view of the bay. Rustic is the word. The food that we ordered was homey, the beer was very good. This place is very near the Aquarium (like 1/4 mile), so combining the trips might be a good idea.

I loved the beer but the restaurant was so noisy that it is not much for eating. As to the food, it was not so great but did get better as you drink more.

We did the tour, then went on to the tasting room. We tried a few but one that stuck out in my mind was the Chipotle beer, it sure was spicy and I think it would be suited well for marinating things in it. The people there were super nice and I didn't want to leave! I love Oregon :)

Location was great, right on the bay. Had a great table and food was good. Waitress could have put on a smile once in awhile. Seemed like a burden for her to be working. The rest of the staff was very accommodating as we traveled from California. Anthony downstairs was great!

Love Rogue beer, don't love bartenders that think they're so cool because they work at Rogue they can treat you like **!!**.. Our visit started out great with the friendly waitress bringing us the sample of the day and explaining the list of beers available. She was very friendly and I wish she could have waited on us the entire time we were at Rogue. Unfortunately, our service was handed off to the bartender who was surly and rude. Sorry, I don't appreciate having the coasters flinged at me and I'm sure you get tired of tourists but perhaps management can explain to you that we help you earn a paycheck. We really wanted to stay awhile longer and try more of the beers and possibly food but changed our mind after the attitude.

My wife and kids were visiting the coast from the Portland area (ergo; breweries are not an unusual venue for us). We decided to go to the Rogue Brewery for lunch. Not all was bad... Our server was excellent. He came by frequently to check on us and was prompt and courteous. I saw the prices on the menu (minus the beer prices) and was not alarmed, however, when the food came, I was less than happy with the portion to price ratio. We (me, my wife, and our 2 small children) started with a $6.50 appetizer of "Bleu Balls" (meatballs stuffed with bleu cheese)... Out came 3 moderately cooked, golf ball sized meatballs. I guess I expected 6 or so on the plate; at least one for all at the table. They were not browned and lacked taste (though mixed (I wouldn't call it "stuffed") with bleu cheese). In retrospect, I suppose less is better than more when it comes to mediocre food... I had Rogue's take on chorizo tacos for about $12. From the description, I expected... tacos, not a do-it-yourself plate of ingredients. All of the ingredients listed on the menu (the sausage, lettuce, sour cream, and salsa) were on the plate with four 4" (put your hands together to make a circle) warmed tortillas. The portion was equivalent to a hot dog sized sausage cut into small slices and spoonfuls of the other ingredients. My wife had one of the battered fish and chip (french fry) variations for about $11 and shared with our daughter). The portion was as you would expect anywhere; honestly, just about right for slightly overpriced fish and chips (seafood at the coast should be cheaper in general, with exception of finer dining establishments where one pays more for the ambiance). My son had a $7 corndog from the children's menu... That included a corn dog, a handful of ruffled chips, and a child's sized drink (I thought it might include fries for $7... My fault for not asking I guess). Thank goodness it included the drink because they charge $2.50 for that (we paid for one in the form of a child's sized water mixed with enough lemonade to slightly flavor it). My wife and I each had a beer (prices were not shown on the tap list) at $5.75 each... C'mon, I pay less than that at a bar!!! I'm not saying I should pay grocery store prices, but at least the beer should be cheaper at the brewery. Right?. It's made twenty feet from where I was seated! Do the math and we paid over $50 for lunch not including tip. That was nuts... The atmosphere was fine, nothing great... We were downstairs, so we had a view of the bay which was nice, but the room itself was... bland. There's a ton of stuff that line the entry (shirts, glasses, various beers, etc.), but the eating area is a pretty empty area that with a concrete floor and some tables. It might as well be a school cafeteria. I'm not saying it should be like the inside of a gaudy chain restaurant, but maybe a window into the brewery area or at least some of the merchandise they want to sell could be displayed so there's something to look at while you're eating. The service was fine, but the portion to value for the food and drink was criminal. Below, I gave the value a 1 because I can't I can't give lower... Do yourself a favor. Go buy a six pack at the store and cook your favorite meal at home or pick up a decent burger/fish and chips someplace else. Rogue... your beer is great; your restaurant needs some serious work.

Take a tour of the brewery and then head upstairs for the best beer ever made ... excepting of course what is made in my own garage. Sit at the row of stools that overlooks the waterfront and bay, order a sampler and life will just not get any better. Eclectic crowd, sometimes international, sometimes just local beersters.

Ordered two Tasters Trays. Each comes with four 4 oz. for $6. I don't like triples, but it tasted as good as any other. The Chatoe Oregonasmic was smooth and like a lightly hopped IPA..very good...I love and IPA! The Rogue Creamery was like a like a lite cream stout...a little watery. The Old Crusty Barley wine was as bold and strong as my own Scottish Wedding ale, but this was drinkable. The Dry Hopped Red was traditional. The Youngers Special Bitter was nothing like and ESB, and had banana notes. Dad's Black IPA was less an IPA and more a chocolate Brown. For a fan of IPA's, not my favorite. The Nitro Shakespeare Stout was true to Guiness type nitros, almost ordered it. as a float. The food was better than good, and the view of the bay was spectacular. All in all, a great experience with my better half and woukd make a tradition of it...especially since I am walkung to my RV!

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to tour the brewery, but still had a great time in their brewpub. I've been loving Rogue's brews for years now, and was really excited about the prospect of checking this place out. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the layout was born simply out of convenience, I thought walking through the brewery to get to the pub was a nice touch. I was especially pleased with the option of samplers; there were just too many beers there to try as many as I wanted and still be able to walk out under my own power. Anyone who is a fan of Rogue, or just a fan of beer in general is going to be glad they came here. The food was mediocre, but honestly, who comes here for the food. I honestly wasn't even expecting them to have a food menu.

Looks like zero or negative stars is not an option... Much of what I read on Yelp is opinion, including the obligatory 'yum'. Instead, here are some pure facts: I visited Rogue at the South Beach Marina looking for a simple lunch. I ordered what was listed on the menu as a "Snake River Farms Kobe Beef Hot dog" (this was to include chips and Rogue mustard.). Without any comment from the server, what was served was 2 grey-pink plain weiners on a bun with no mustard. I suspected these weiners were not the fancy SRF Kobe dogs, but I couldn't be sure. I asked about the mustard and they said they were "out". The only thing they offered instead was French's yellow. I declined the whole mess and went back and wrote to Snake River about the presentation. They assured me that their dogs were not the ones I described. So, I was defrauded - offered on the menu a high end dog and intentionally served something of very low quality, and poorly served at that. Avoid this place.

The service was terrible! Their lunch "rush" consisted of about 50% of the restaurant capacity, yet we still had to wait 30 min to even get our order taken. As I look around the restaurant, I see the other patrons getting themselves water, soda and iced tea, so I did the same. If I had known this was going to be cafeteria style, I would have brought my own tray and headed to the kitchen myself! I had to remind my server three times that I had ordered a beer, and then he brought the wrong one. The pasta was poorly made, the salmon was dry, and they couldn't even get a garden burger right. I love rogue beer, but I say NAY to the restaurant. Also, don't order a sampler of beer while you wait for a table at the bar, you aren't allowed to bring it over to your table when they call you....WHAT?! LAME!!!! Get around this by having the bartender give you four pint glasses to pour your samples into, more dishes for them to clean i guess......

the best brewpub (if you want to call it that, its actually a full industrial strength brewery) ive ever been to. hit about 5 on the way up from s.d. and this was the icing on the cake. awesome food, reasonably priced, great service, and cant beat the location (one room overlooked the marina, the other overlooked the brewery). beers in the store seemed a bit pricey though, $6.50 for a 22, cmon, i can get it at bevmo for $3.50. very cool place.
