We tried this place for the first time last weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. The reviews were good so we went their specifically to try it out. It turned out they had Prime Rib as their special and my son and I jumped for that. Other son had the chowder and Wife had the hot turkey plate. Food was fantastic. Prime Rib was some of the best I've had, fresh made mashed potatoes and everything was delicious. Service was friendly, attentive and fast. Definitely going back to try some of their other preparations.

The food was very good, but the service was excellent. We waited a bit longer for our meal than expected and the dinner was comped for us! That kind of customer service is hard to find these days. They treat you well, and serve a tasty dinner! We highly recommend it.

Much better than expected just looking at the restaurant. Really happy we read the reviews and gave it a try. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good! Not a fancy steak & seafood restaurant but very cozy, which is kinda what you want on a little family beach trip! We'll go back next time we are in Newport!

Great dinners. A little overpriced but good, waitress was way cool! The prime rib was done to perfection. My wife's crab fettucini was really good too. One of my guests ordered the fish and chip basket. It was good as well. He was asked if he would like the dinner instead. Sure. The difference was a cup of chowder and a cup of mixed vegetables. I didn't really see how it was justified to pay $8.00 more for those 2 items. Should of ordered them separate. Over all a enjoyable dinner and if go back.

Both my husband and I ordered the Captain's plate, mine was sautéed and hubby's was deep fried. They both were delicious and the sides were too. We will go back.

First, I want to say that the filet and flat iron steak here are both very good. I'd give 4 stars based solely on the flavor of those two steaks. I'd recommend against the other steaks however, and the service was abysmal. I was there with my girlfriend and daughter. Between us we ordered 3 steaks. My porterhouse, ordered medium-rare, arrived well-done. The waitress informed me that it was hard to cook medium-rare because it's such a thing steak (it was thinner than I prefer, but not super thin). Based on her excuse - because I can only call it an excuse - I changed my order to the filet because my girlfriend's arrived perfectly (as did my daughter's flat iron). I then proceeded to wait through the entire time they ate for my replacement steak. Well after they were done, my filet arrived...somehow overcooked again. As she delivered the steak, the waitress told me that it took so long because it's such a thick steak. I asked for it in a to-go container because I didn't want to make them sit there longer. But on a hunch, I started eating after I gave the waitress my card to pay. Sure enough, I'd finished the steak before she managed to run my card. Throughout the entire visit we got no refills on any of our drinks and they offered me no apologies or compensation for the ruined meal. Overall, a terrible experience.

Very good food and portions. Very welcoming stuff. The steak is one of the best I have ever had. Surely we will visit again.

Nice restaurant with a friendly staff. I had the jack Daniels steak. It was good and a good value. Tables were clean and in good order.

For a little restaurant and bar, this was very nice. The food (we had steamer clams and clam strips) was very good. The vegetables with the meal were extraordinary as well. The microbrew beer (a honey-oatmeal stout) was very good. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. A very good dinner option in Newport.

Great food at a great price! It's a local hole in the wall restaurant/diner at a budget price. Very glad we found it! Portions were good too.

This is a good little breakfast joint located on the east side of Highway 101 in Newport. It fills mostly with locals but has a welcoming feel for out of towners. It has your standard breakfast fare of meat and eggs, omelets, pancakes, and biscuit and gravy. Entries are priced between 5 and 10 dollars but are a good value based on portion size. Everything was homemade from the home fries to the biscuits. The downside to this restaurant was the parking lot is kind of tight, but I highly recommend this place for a nice breakfast in Newport.

Food is very good and the place is clean. Pricing is right for the portions. Staff was friendly and the service was very good.

Great service in a small diner style restaraunt. Jennie kept my coffee full and was happy to make reccomendations. The prime rib hash was a little dry, but the service made up for it. My eggs were perfect and the bloody Mary was great.

When Elizabeth Street lost their power, we had to skip Georgies and look for somewhere else to get a steak. I would have to say the best thing about this meal was the baked potatoe. The steak was dried out. My husband BBQ ribs were boiled with BBQ slathered on. We were dissapointed.

When going in and looking at just the prices I was slightly put off and it was more then what I thought it was going to be. However, we did have a massive appetizer, three kids meals that were on the cheaper side, and two specials. All of that came out to being just over fifty dollars. We all came out of this full and had some of the specials left for my midnight snack. The portions on the specials were HUGE and with out question vary good. It is a small mom and pop diner and the portions show it. You should go and enjoy the great food.

What a surprise. Not much for looks but WOW, what a great dinner. The rib special was out of this world. Ribs were accompanied with a very good salad with a nice variety of lettuce and marinated veggies that set a high standard. All this came with a loaf of freshly baked bread and a baked potato smothered with sour cream and butter. The waitress served us as if we were the only customers. What a wonderful experience.

Visited newport over Columbus Day weekend, didn't realize how busy it would be where we planned on eating, so we looked @ reviews & decided to give this place a try based on them. I would classify the food as roadside diner quality, nothing particularly impressive or really worth writing about, actually we were disappointed given the reviews. Had the oyster dinner, definitely more breading than the description "lightly breaded" lead us to believe. The shrimp in my FIL seafood fettuccinie still had the tails attached. The waitresses were very sweet and provided great service, but we will not be making a return visit.

I would have had a much better impression of this restaurant if there were a small change. I ordered the Crab Fettuccini and a salad for dinner. As a single diner, it always seems like forever before the meal arrives. In this case, it was about 15 minutes. If I had been served the salad first, it would have given me something to munch on as I waited. However, the plated salad and the entrée were served together, so I had to rush through the salad in order to ensure the entrée would be warm. The crab fettuccini was delicious, and very generous in the crab portion. More than I could eat. Other than the snafu of serving the salad and the entrée together but late, my server was very attentive. I would eat here again, and ask for the salad up front. Fussy me!

Good breakfast and large portions. A little expensive for what it is. Waitress knew the names of all the locals.

It is okay, not the best food, not the cleanest, just run of the mill ma-pa place you might have raved about 30 years ago when you drove old t-bird. the old booths and the waitress who looks like she played in an old roadside cafe movie in the 50's Price is okay in the 10-20 range

Food was good was I got it. Service was iffy and a little kid kept running around in the restraunt. If i eat here again it will be to go.

WOW! My fiance had the prime rib...delicious! Cooked to perfection and a generous portion too (we had leftovers). I ordered the special, coconut prawns...I love prawns but I'm not a big coconut prawns person. These were phenomenal and also a generous portion, there must've been 12-15 ($9.95). Both dinners came with choice of potato, corn and a salad. It also came with a loaf of bread. Everything here was amazingly delicious, right down to the horseradish and dipping sauce for the prawns. We enjoyed our dinner here so much that we had breakfast here the next morning. Again we were NOT disappointed! I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!

I will admit right off the bat, this place gets 4 stars solely for their Bloody Marys. Sure, the food is good, too. At least breakfast, which is all we've ever had here. Because, hello: those Bloody Marys. Thankfully, they're cheap, because the food is a bit on the pricey side, as other reviewers have pointed out. The name makes this place sound high-end, but really, it's a bar and grill that's a bit dated inside and out. Those Bloody Marys, though. The Bacon & Cheese omelette has a nice ratio of hickory smoked bacon to cheese, and is the perfect size - not too big, not too small. The accompanying hash browns are decent. I liked the Spanish omelette better; it's a nice combination of peppers, onions, green chilies and cheese topped with a homemade salsa that is pretty good. My wife liked her Denver omelette - it's nothing special, but delivers exactly what you'd expect. And that's a good thing. Service is good, but the bar side of this restaurant can fill up quickly and you might have to wait a little while to order. I suppose we could sit on the restaurant side, but... Well, you know. Those Bloody Marys.

The outside of the resturant seems 'iffy' at best, but we decided to give it a chance after reading the yelp reviews. It wasn't bad, the food was decent and the server Andre was awesome! The reason I can't give more stars is this place is incredibly over priced for what it is. I mean, we are talking $25 a plate type expensive.... Which I would gladly pay if the atmosphere warranted it... But it doesn't. It had a diner feel. Nothing wrong with that, but it is what it is... I'd recommend coming here if you've never tried it but the food was just ok, and too expensive to come back so we probably won't stop in again.

For the first time, Yelp has failed us. We went here based on the high ratings of others. Very disappointed. Had to wait for someone to take our drink order. Someone else took the food order. The food was overpriced for what it was - I got the grilled halibut and my husband got the New York strip. His was ordered medium and came out medium well. That was the last time we saw the server. The place got busy and there was not enough help. We got no refills on the drinks. Had to ask for the check from another server. Very disappointing because we thought it would be better based on the glowing reviews on Yelp.

Just as many of the other reviews already stated, this place has great food in a relaxed atmosphere. We are from the Waldport area and have not found a descent steakhouse in the last 8 months of living here. That has changed! Fantastic daily specials. We had the Jack Daniels Rib-Eye and all the fixin's. Such a tender cut of meat you could cut it without a knife. Along with the salad, fresh bread, and potato or fettuccini you can't believe it only cost $10.95. Since it was my wife's birthday, they gave her a slice of berry cheesecake that was out of this world! Definitely going back to try the other specials.

Service was awesome. I liked the old Rock they played while we ate. I had the oyster stew and cod fish and chips. Cod was lightly breaded and very fresh, best I have EVER had! Relaxed atmosphere, off the beaten track. Overall great dining experience!

This place had great food. The decor and building could use some updating but don't let that fool you. I had the crab fettuccini and my husband had chicken marsala. The fettuccini literally had so much crab, it was in every bite. I would visit again and maybe try breakfast next time.

This joint is a good place to eat breakfast. I can't really say I'm a fan, because I live in the area and almost never go here. Plus, they failed my number one criterion test. But a friend suggested we go, and here's what happened. I had the oysters and eggs (I think it was $9.95). If I were to split hairs, I would say that the oysters could have been coated in a breading that encapsulated these delicious critters in a more golden hued cocoon. Their light breading might have been enough had the cook put more heat to them in the initial sear. Not sure, but like I said, this would be splitting hairs because the oysters were DELICIOUS. Eggs scrambled -- standard. Hash browns - standard. Toast of sourdough - also standard. This is basic diner fare, people. What would have pushed me over to the 4th star turns out to be my NUMBER ONE CRITERION: Hot food. There is no excuse for serving up lukewarm food. The hash browns were lukewarm. The eggs were lukewarm. But the oysters hit the plate hot (though not seared), saving the day. Our server -- Marci - is unbelievably good at what she does. I love servers like her. She must have topped off my coffee a dozen times, never letting my cup go below half. She gets CINCO ESTRELLAS, hands-down. Eat here. I recommend it. But be sure to tell your server that you insist the food comes hot, even if it means they plate your friend's first and yours second.

Skip this one and shoot for some of your favorite ramen noodles in it's stead. Both the waitress and bartender were outstanding, but the food, ughh...I chose this restaurant based on previous yelp ratings but was shocked that neither the quality of food nor price was anywhere near reasonable. My steak was supposedly a $18.50 top sirloin which I asked for med rare. It came tough, med well and was not a sirloin. The scallops - I swore they were frozen seafood fresh out of the plastic. My wife's jumbo prawns were medium size even after being caked with tasteless batter. We would've done better on the seafood by hitting up fast food (Long John Silver's). The best part of our meal was the bread served as a starter - we did ask for a 'go-box' for that!

Great breakfast. A good diner. No wait. Classics. My egg skillet was good, eggs had flavor and the cheese was good. The gravy has herbs and such, garlic which i liked but my hubs did not. Pancakes were ok, nothing special. Nice staff and local.

Great Breakfast, and big portions! I've been there twice for breakfast while visiting my family on the coast. My brother (a local) suggested it for breakfast, and it was great. The owner and staff were nice. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs, which includes a helping of hash browns, and choice of toast. Total for both of us, coffee and breakfast was under $20, and I was full til' long after lunch time. (which is saying alot as I have a large appetite.).
