If I lived in Newport this would be my everyday beer spot. They have a great selection of excellent local beers, affordable prices, good specials, and nice bartenders. The space is really two big rooms. One with the bar and the store where they sell brewing items and bottles, the other with a pool table and more seating. Definitely a great spot to swing by for a pint or hang out with the local crowd.

Great Place! It was such a treat to have so many excellent craft beer selections. The bartender was also great. We didn't try any of the food simply because we had already eaten and were stuffed. Next time we will.

Great beer selection, pool tables, fooseball, darts, and college football on the flat screens. What more is needed while at the coast to enjoy the afternoon. Bartender helpful for selecting micros (Rainier for the macro crowd) and they also have brewing supplies.

Great place, love coming after a good (or bad) surf. I have to admit many of the bars around Newport aren't very inviting, but this one is awesome. Good prices, the staff feel like friends (though sometimes they're so busy being friends with the patrons you wait a few minutes to be served. Reasonable priced bar food, my only complaint is it's clear it's not cooked but microwaved.

Stopped in for a drink and found Beir 1 to be pleasantly inviting. A good variety of beers on tap. We were there on a Monday night and were able to play shuffleboard, pool, and darts all for free while enjoying our beverages. The bartender was very friendly and made us feel welcomed.

while they have a surprisingly limited tap selection for a place specifically devoted to craft beer, all the selection are good, the staff is knowledgeable, and the vibe is mellow. they have darts, billiards, and shuffle board. they also have a great bottle selection

We took an overnight trip to Newport recently and our stop at Bier One was one of the best parts of the trip. It was not part of the original plans but after being disappointed that the Rogue locations offered the same beers that we get in Portland we needed a Plan B. Great tap beer selection (including a brewery we had not heard of or had beer from before), a small but well thought out bottle selection, pool tables, darts, foosball, sidewalk patio and friendly staff made it a great place to hang out at...which we did for many hours. Next time I'm in Newport or talk to someone who will be there, Bier One will be at the top of my recommendations for places to have great beer.
