This was a hidden treasure! I certainly didn't expect this nice a restaurant in Molalla!! Took our daughter and grandkids out for lunch yesterday and was so pleasantly surprised! Not only was the inside of the restaurant beautiful but also the outside as well! The staff was super friendly and attentive !! We ate outside and all our lunches were absolutely yummy and lovely! The cheese fondue was delicious as well as my daughter and grandchildren's lunches ! I had the hot spiced cider with caramel and it was the best I have ever had even though I chose to have it on a hot day outside it was still yummy! I would go all the way down to Molalla again just for that LOL! My daughter and grandkids had "Cremosa's " which are like Italian sodas with a lot of cream and thought they were excellent! We bought ice cream for the kids and I loved the flavors they had on hand - Huckleberry, peppermint candy, bubblegum to name a few - how many places carry those good old time flavors? We will definitely be going back here again! Thank you to the staff for being so sweet friendly and attentive to us all!!

I won't bore you with our drink order experience, or the complimentary crackers. However it was Friday night and the C'est La Viv special was Prime Rib with choice of potato and salad. I ordered a rib eye steak and French fries and my husband ordered the prime rib and baked potato, $20 each, with salad. The salad was delivered and we didn't have a chance to grab our forks and here came our entrees. I hate not being able to enjoy my salad before the entree arrives. My steak was pretty thin, ok, really thin but cooked perfectly. The french fries were a bit soggy. About what you would expect from a "higher" end restaurant in Molalla. The real surprise was the prime rib! It wasn't prime rib at all it was sirloin!! We asked the waitress to send the manager or the chef to discuss the "prime sirloin" NO ONE WOULD COME TO OUR TABLE! The waitress said she was told to comp the Prime Rib. Although we appreciate the comp we wanted to speak to a member of management. The poor waitress was left on her own to deal with situation and was visibly shaken. I hope she gets the tip we left her, It is a real shame that this restaurant would go to this length to try and save a buck. What is worse is management/owners/chef that is too cowardly to own up to it to their customer. We won't be going back.

Best latte's in town. I go there about three days a week and the staff are wonderful and actually know who you are. I would also recommend their dinner and lunch food which is the best I've had outside of Portland. The outdoor are is really nice on a hot day and they have live music.

Excellent coffee and great pastries from a local baker. The owner is so friendly and the staff is very inviting! I haven't been for dinner but am excited to go enjoy some live music soon, no need to head to the city, Molalla has it!

Great place with awesome atmosphere! Not to mention courteous staff and fantastic burgers! Wish this place was closer to Portland so I can eat here every day!

1st Visit: Our family was seated outside and patiently waited for 30 minutes before water and menus were given to us. We waited, and waited, and waited to order. We gave up and headed to the Farmstead. 2nd Visit: My husband and I had dinner at the bar. Poor service, food was just ok. 3rd Visit: Our family had breakfast. The food was delicious and the service was great! 4th Visit: The a/c was broke. We decided to stay anyways and hoped the fans would be enough. We were promptly served drinks. That was the end of the good service. The waitress kept forgetting about our table. Our dinner arrived 15 minutes before our appetizer. The food (steak and veggies) was extremely bland and arrived without steak knives. We finished our drinks and were never asked if we wanted more. The bill arrived. Our credit card was immediately taken. But, it wasn't returned until 20 minutes later after we flagged down our waitress. Summary: Do not go there for dinner. Overpriced. Mediocre food. Poor service.

My family and I finally returned to C'est La Vie for dinner service tonight, and I'm happy to report that we had a lovely evening dining out on the patio. The warmth from our fire pit table was a nice touch on this beautiful, crisp fall evening. The food and the service were great -- we were greeted with a friendly smile and promptly tended to. We went with sweet potato fries for an appetizer, and they were excellent. They had a perfectly crisp outer crust, yet the insides were still soft. The sprinkling of brown sugar on top was a nice touch. I ordered a NY steak for my entree, and it was enormous -- and it also happened to be perfectly prepared, tender, and flavorful. It wasn't the best steak I've ever head, but still worthy of four stars. It was served with toasted bread, broccoli, and a baked potato. There was enough food that I just decided to eat half of everything from the start, and I was still pleasantly full (and now I have dinner for tomorrow night). My son gave high marks for his bacon cheeseburger, rating it just under his standby for Molalla, Cindy's Cafe. The burger at C'est La Vie was obviously a hand-formed patty, thick and juicy, and was piled high with fresh toppings -- it really looked delicious. It was large enough that my 12-y.o. bottomless pit of a son could only eat a few of the fries (but he admitted he was saving room for dessert). For dessert, my son and I split their five-layer chocolate cake. We thought the cake itself was very good, but the frosting had a little too much sugary flavor, and not enough deep chocolate flavor. It was still very good overall, though. My daughter went with lemon cream pie ice cream for dessert, which she and I both loved -- it was tart and creamy, with little bits of pie crust floating in the mix. Well done, C'est La Vie. We will be back again, I'm sure.

So I have been here 3 times so far. Once with a group of 20, once as a couple and once solo. All 3 times have been spectacular! The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. I couldn't think of a martini I wanted so they look up a new one for me, a Bikini Martini. Amazing!!! Also their happy hour items are very filling, their dinners are very well put together. My favorite is the Hawaiian Sandwich. It's wonderful to finally have a place to sit and have a drink and dinner in Molalla other than the bars. The outside seating is a definite plus!

This place is by far the worst place I have ever worked for the management has drinks and goes behind the bar and makes her own drinks and will work if asked to do so even if they had a drink they allow minors behind the bar they have a menu that has things on it we no longer serve and haven't served since I started working they text you to tell you they don't have hours for you because apparently calling is very hard to do these days! Having to tell customers I cannot make them (many) certain drinks because I'm sorry "we don't have that" is embarrassing when u have to go back and tell them no sorry on 3 different drink orders(has happened multiple times)!!! Management allows drinking after hours without paying for drinks or food! However the only good thing about this place is Al the owners wife he is very respectful and kind hearted! Which is the only reason I stayed as long as I did! I could not respect this place any longer as they don't respect employees!

Came here with a friend that lives in town. She said she had been there before and had bad service but I'm always willing to give a business a second chance. The place is very charming with its tile and fireplace. Also a hodgepodge of eclectic tables and chairs to make it trendy and comfortable. We visited Saturday night. The place is fairly small but very busy. They had two waitresses but could have benefited from a dedicated bartender and a busboy. The waitresses were doing everything and we got lost in the shuffle a bit. The food was the most disappointing aspect. We ordered the antipasto plate and the fondue. For appetizers both were overpriced based on what they brought to the table. The antipasto had Ritz crackers, canned black and green olives, genoa salami cut in half, and Brie. The cheese was the only thing of value on the plate. I could have bought everything at Safeway next door and had a cheap meal at home with better service! The fondue was only slightly better. The fondue was a very tasty but included cold summer sausage cut into quarters. Also something I could have easily picked up from Safeway. The bread also included was good and definitely the saving grace on that plate. All in all, WAY overpriced and horrible quality. The place is beautiful but the service was not stellar in any way. I won't go back.

The house coffee is probably the best coffee in Molalla. However stay away from the espresso. It tastes like burnt popcorn.

Molalla has needed a good restaurant for ages. This one has potential but not quite up to par yet. We have had dinner here 2 Friday nights now. Nicely decorated, comfortable seating indoors. Outdoor seating in wrought iron chairs, ok for a drink but not comfy for dinner. Nice fire pits outdoors but have never seen them in use. The menu is ok with nightly specials when we were there. Salads were fresh and big. Cheese fondue came out cool not hot. The waitresses seemed new and didn't know the menu. The steaks were ordered med. rare and came out well done. They happily cooked a new steak for one of us. The salmon was a bit over cooked and too salty as were the green beans and potato side dishes. We will be back though to give this business a chance to improve. At least it's a clean, modern restaurant, much nicer than any place in Molalla. And for daytime coffee, pastries and hard ice cream it's a very nice place to go.
