Barneys has the best burgers in Medford. Hands down. Everything on their menu is awesome. And their fry sauce!? Don't get me started. The staff are great everytime we are in there. Five stars isn't enough.

High 3 star... Its a good burger and decent fries... Where they kickass, is in the shake department! The burger falls short of 'Jaspers' and 'Burger Spot' but for me they rank above 'Way Back' and 'Riverside Burger' (Riverside actually has a better burger, but their terrible afterthought onion rings and fries kill it for me)... The pricing is ok, maybe a little high because they don't offer a meal-deal, what's up with that??? Bottom line is, Barney's is a good place to get an old fashioned style burger stand experience... And just like they always have, the shakes steal the show! ***Eat Local***

Tasty burger. Average fries. A bit spendy.. The older lady was throwing a fit and appeared frustrated with co workers. I definitely felt the tension. Was not a pleasurable experience. Love the old theme vibe from the building though

This used to be Eddy's Old Fashioned Burgers on Riverside and the burgers were big, juicy and very tasty. The new owners have not let us down with the same menu and great food. I get the avocado-jack burger every time. Fresh, not frozen burgers. A little mom-and-pop place with wonderfully nice staff and prompt service. My fave in Medford.

Ate here Saturday. Food is pricey and quality and quantity does not justify the cost. Onion rings were okay but fry sauce had a weird taste. My co-workers fries were cooked in dirty oil, so darken color and limp. Burgers were just okay. Burgers are so greasy the buns become soggy and gross. If only Medford would get an In n Out burger.

Tiny little place. Very, very casual. Excellent prices, especially on their mini burgers which, with fries, is a good sized meal. I come in every other week or so when I'm on this end of Medford and need a quick bite. Quality is fine, nothing extraordinary. Consistent, quick service and food. Staff is mostly friendly. I like that they use a local meat supplier. It's impressive that they can do this at the prices they charge. Store hours are kind of weird. Why would a food business close at 6pm, just as the dinner rush is starting!? This makes no sense and is super annoying! One other I found annoying recently is their punch card policy. They have a "buy 10, get one free" stamp card. After filling one up last week, I tried to redeem it for a free burger and was told that I had been purchasing the wrong type of burger and the card was not valid for me. Apparently, the punches only count if you are buying the more expensive burgers? And then you get one of the minis for free? This is not denoted on the punch card. And it was never mentioned to me in my previous ten trips to the store over the course of about a year. This was annoying to find out at an inopportune time, and I've definitely been visiting the store less since. A good place for a quick, cheap meal.

Yum! Discovered this on a lunch break one day! Very reasonably priced, fresh cooked and the price is great! The bacon they use on their burgers is thick quality stuff. I know it's a short review, but the basics are... I will go again! ...oh and get bacon!

I got the bbq bacon burger, my husband got the jalapeno burger, and we split a small chocolate malt. When you walk in, it has the look of an old fashioned burger spot. The lady at the counter was very friendly, and so was the cook. As we were ordering, he turned around to greet us as well. The malt was good, but the burgers were great! He toasts the buns on the grill, and the burger patty's were seasoned well. The bacon was good quality, and bbq sauce was great. The burger had a nice crust on it from the grill, and the patty to bun ratio was spot on.

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! Most of the food places around downtown Medford seem to be a bit pricey. Maybe it's just me. But this one was very reasonable and I felt like a great value for what you got! I ordered the bacon and cheddar burger- Yummm!! It wasn't just your average pre-cooked bacon and american cheese burger. The bacon was thick cut and scrumptious, and the cheese was thick and gooey! We ordered some fries as well, and they were a bit on the undercooked side, but the fry sauce was delicious :) The buns for the burgers were kind of thin- not the thick kind you might get at Red Robin or even Carl's Jr. But then again, I'm not big on a lot of bread anyways. I just thought it was peculiar. Overall, awesome prices, great food, and quick service too :)

I had the opportunity to eat here not only once but twice during my week stay in Medford. I would not have known about this Mom & Pop burger joint had it not been conveniently located across the street within walking distance to our motel The Knights Inn. On my first visit I ordered the bacon cheddar burger w/ a large fry, all burgers are served with Mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle unless otherwise requested. All menu items are served ala carte, bacon cheddar burger was $5.85 and a large fry $1.75. This was a great juicy and flavorful burger, generous with the cheese and thick cut crispy smoked bacon. Mmmm yummy, this was truly a treat! The fries were ok, I told myself next time I will order the onion rings to accompany my choice of burger. They offer complimentary ranch and or their secret fry sauce with all orders, mmmm yum yum yum. Next visit I ordered the Avocado Jack burger, onion rings and old fashioned homemade fresh banana shake. Wowzers, once again they were generous with the burger toppings, plenty of avocado and jack cheese! The onion rings are the best I have had in a very long time! Then there is the Amazing fresh banana shake I had, wow fresh bits of banana, I literally had an orgasm in my mouth with every sip and suck. This was truly a treat, it can add up with the ala carte menu style however well worth it for fresh and delicious! Avocado Jack burger, $5.85, onion rings $3.55, 16 oz fresh homemade banana shake $3.00. Fresh hand pressed burgers in which the meat is 100% all beef from Cherry street meats. They have burgers, chicken burgers, corn dogs, homemade chili, hot dogs, and a couple of sandwich options. I highly suggest everyone try one of their homemade shakes, cherry, razzleberry, blackberry, peanut butter, butterscotch, coffee, peach, fresh banana, peppermint, root beer, caramel, pineapple. I truly enjoyed the fresh banana oh my word! Service is great, small family owned joint with a few tables to eat inside or take out. To clarify any confusion I guess they used to be called Eddy's burgers, they are now Barney's Better Burgers. Check out my photos of the yummy goodness I truly enjoyed! :) I will stop by and grub when I get back to Medford for sure!

If you want good old fashioned diner style burgers, fries, and malts then Barney's is the place to go. It's a no-frills locally owned place with friendly employees and damn good food. They even have a few benches just outside for al fresco dining. Pretty small parking lot but I managed to find a space. Barney's is tucked in the heart of downtown, and I can tell this place is popular with the locals by how busy it is here at lunchtime. Even as busy as it is today, the employees still have a friendly demeanor and food is getting out in a timely manner. I had the Hawaiian Burger with fries and a peach malt while my boyfriend had the Avocado Jack with fries and a Pepsi. The food was fresh and hot with a great flavor. They also have fry sauce here, which gets bonus points with me. I will definitely keep Barney's in mind for lunch again!

I love their food, and I'm so glad they re-opened after the fire, but they are so expensive. And the snark we received when ordering was enough to keep me from ever coming back.

Eddy's is a much better place to eat ever since they renovated the place. It was fine before, but much better now. Seating is still in short supply, but the place at least makes more sense space-wise than it did previously. I haven't been during the lunch hour recently, but I recall it'd always be crowded during midday. Prices for sandwiches/burgers are about where you'd expect them to be, but now they also include fries and a drink for no extra cost. Quality of food is what you'd expect for a place of this sort -- pretty generic, but pretty tasty in its own right. If only this, like so many other local burger joints, would actually grill their burgers and not griddle-fry them, then it'd be so much different.

I am glad they opened this back up after the fire. Good burgers and reasonably priced. I like that there its more seating now. Give em a shot.

Went out to find a great Burger joint and ran across this place and so glad we did! Staff was super friendly, and the best part was how clean and fresh the place and food is. Great value and did I mention Super clean well to me that is everything! So I will mention it twice ;]

For fairness and because I wanted it to be good, I have gone back to Barney's three times in the last month and a half on my lunch break. While the food is always cooked to order and quick enough to drive there, eat, and get back to work in 30 minutes, it left much to be desired. The place is a bit run down and the owner/employees are on the rough side. Last time I went the owner/cashier/cook woman was out front with a customer smoking. It bothered me even though she washed her hands before preparing my meal, I have known smokers and know it seeps into the skin. She didn't wear gloves. I've gotten several things off the menu, and while I didn't get a burger the first time, she insisted that I try one next time. When I did, I was extremely disappointed. $10 for a lunch (including a tip) and it was just messy and greasy and not at all what you'd expect. I gave them 2 stars because of their efficiency but definitely not for quality or care.

Formerly Eddy's, Barney's Better Burgers kept the same quality product and was one of the few old-school, ma&pa style burger shops remaining in our area. Unfortunately, the restaurant was destroyed in an arson fire June 18, 2013--a total loss.

I liked the burgers before the fire but they are even better since the place reopened. They are made from fresh beef, not frozen, which makes them really juicy. The fries are even better than McDonalds and that is saying a lot. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff has been friendly. Welcome back! I've missed you.

Not as good as it used to be, very plain burger. And very expensive for a lunch.

Sorry folks but you people in Oregon just do not have the faintest idea of what good food is, it's just a plain ass hamburger that is absolutely plain Jane, I don't get it, you go through all the work and money to open a burger place to serve bland food. Oh how I need an In & Out 4 by 4 right now, and In & Out isn't even the best burger in Cali, there are so many great burger shops in L.A., Oregon none.........

I'm sure this review would be 5 stars if I had just tried a regular hamburger. I decided to go with the buffalo chicken sandwich (I love buffalo wings!) and was horrible disappointed. The grilled chicken breast was lightly coated in a strange tasting buffalo sauce and then the whole sandwich was drenched in a chunky, slimy, oily blue cheese sauce. It was one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had... They also have an eating challenge! Just like on Man v. Food!! 3 triple burgers, a shake, and an order of fries... oh boy I gotta try this :) I'm still kickin' myself for not trying a classic burger first :P Will update the review to 5 stars once I've had one.

Friendly staff operate a clean and bright burger joint and serve yummy burgers and fries. You can get a bag of fries for $3! I will return to try the jalapeno fries which are like onion rings but are battered jalapenos. Also they have punch cards after 10 burgers the 11th is free. Tasty food, better than fast food joints.
