I couldn't write a great breakfast review of Morning Glory in Ashland, Oregon without writing one for Wildwood Cafe. Both are MUSTS for breakfast if you live in Oregon or are just visiting, as I was. The french toast rolled in granola was truly special. Everything on their menu is great. It was a very long wait outside the door of this small and charming place, but SO worth it!!

Ok..... I'm actually giving the food 5 stars and the service 0 stars..... When you go there you want to have the blonde holly wait on you not the brunette Holly.... While the food was wonderful brunette Holly really needs to find a different profession..... When we sat down and have her clean our table she didn't even acknowledge us say good morning nothing, never came back to see how our food was, never check to see if there was anything else that we need it after she gave us our food...... Blonde holly came back twice and filled our coffee up and asked how everything was. All the while, brunette Holly never even acknowledged us or made eye contact. She took our food away didn't ask if we were done and we had to wait 15 minutes to tell her that we would like our bill, only to wait another 15 minutes for the bill only to sit there as she walked by us three times did not pick up your check and finally I had to go up to the register to pay. The final straw was as we were walking out we went face to face to her she didn't even smile say goodbye have a good day nothing she just walked right past us..... Go for the food, and ask for blonde holly!!!!

While visiting a friend in the area, we wanted to grab a meal together at a local eatery. I LOVE finding the non-chain, non-corporate restaurants that have their own personality and delicious food. I am a very picky eater, so I was sent in first to see if the menu was not too off the wall, and it seemed like it had a good selection of a range of dishes. I decided on the grilled turkey sandwich, add fried egg and mayo. If egg and mayo are not already on something, chances are, I'll add it. Jet already posted up reviews of the other meals, so I'll just touch on mine. The bread was grilled perfectly. Too many cooks either overgrill and burn the bread, or over saturate it with a butter like substance before flashing it on the grill, leaving you with a soggy, greasy piece of cold bread. Between crispy, golden pieces of sourdough were a couple slices of a white cheese, my memory fails on if it was provolone or swiss. Atop that was some tomato and what seemed to be fresh cooked and cut grilled turkey. Capping it was the fried egg and mayo. The flavors blended together quite well, not too greasy, and the turkey stayed in the bread (for the most part). A delicious, and satisfying meal. Wildwood Cafe's decor is very entertaining too. Hanging from the ceiling is a large collection of antique mixing apparati (hand crank beaters from many era). On the walls are antique (and replica) signs from a large mix of companies: M&Ms, Oil companies, bakeries, etc. Our server was pleasant, and on top of drink refills, to go containers when needed and just making sure we didn't need anything else. This is the type of place I could see going to all the time if it was not a 17 hour drive each way to get there!

The French toast is pretty tasty, even without syrup ... which is a good thing, because they don't serve real maple syrup ... and pouring what is, in effect, high fructose corn syrup over the thick homemade bread slices rolled in granola would only spoil them. I'd rate the French toast 4 stars. The club sandwich was good, I'd rate it 3 stars. The potatoes / hashbrowns with mushrooms, scallions and cheddar cheese were also good (3 stars). The portions are very big, as others have noted, and prices are pretty inexpensive (especially given the size of the portions). The radio playing is a local rock station, and the music and commercials can become rather intrusive at times.

Great food, decent prices with eclectic decor throughout! I've been here twice now, once in 2010 and again in 2013, the food has been consistently good and the service is friendly. The food I should mention is not the typical greasy hash browns and over cheesed omelets, it actually possible to to see and taste exactly what you're eating. My husband and I love this place and will continue to make a point of visiting it any time we're in the area.

A solid old-timey place to have breakfast or lunch. Definitely the second best place to get breakfast in Yamhill County! Their scrambles are great but the signature item IMO is their Wild Wood French toast which is thick and coated in granola. So amazing! I've eaten here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. The prices are good, the menu has good choices, and it's great for all ages. The unique decor and great service make this a fantastic place to enjoy a meal and relax.

When ever we are in McMinnville during the morning hours, Wild Wood is our #1 choice for breakfast. The place in nothing fancy. Old signs and metal ads on the walls. They serve coffee in different cups just like you would at home. Sometimes you have to wait longer then you think you should for your order. Waiting outside in the cold could be a possibility because they get quite busy. They are known for their version of French Toast. It is very good and a big portion of food. Last time we were there they did not offer gluten free dishes. If they had a version of their French Toast I would be in heaven. Heavy sigh. Maybe it is a good thing they don't. Having had a small restaurant I feel they do a wonderful job overall. . Most people do not realize that breakfast is more work then a fancy dinner. Not defending anyone but things can go wrong and I have been a customer when that has happened. My husband and I think this is a great local business with big portions of good food that will have you waddling out the door.

Excellent food and good service. We had to wait about 30 minutes to set in on a Sunday. It was worth the wait. Huge pancakes. And the toast is awesome!!

Four of us from Salem arrived for breakfast. I ordered the Motherload which is a big pile of sliced spuds in the middle, 2 half pieces of bacon on one side of the spuds and 2 nice sized sausages on the side of the spuds with 2 over easy eggs at one end and biscuits and gravy at the other end. The good: the spuds are fabulous; the sausage was very good with a hint of spicey heat (they should put this in the gravy); the bacon was good and the toast is good with some squirts of jelly on it. The jelly is in a ketchup type container and it looked like blackberry jelly. The bad: forget the biscuits and gravy as the gravy is very bland and the biscuit was flat and dry, my eggs were runny and basically only one piece of bacon. I would not order this item again. On my next visit I will try one of the omelets. I got turned off by the description of most of them as they had green peppers and they don't agree with me. I think you could get the dish without them or a substitute. Also the "Basics" selection is another good choice. The pancake looks like it is at least 12" in diameter. Good thing they only serve up one but it did not look fluffy at all. The other 3 with me ordered omelets and was not unhappy with their selections.

My fiancé and I consider ourselves breakfast connoisseurs of sorts. It is our weekend passion and we are always in search of a good breakfast locale. That being said, we were greatly disappointed by the Wildwood Cafe. You do get a lot of food for your money but that is about the only positive thing I can take away from this experience. I had one of the dishes with the giant pancake and it wasn't even cooked through, making only about 1/3 of it edible. My fiancé got biscuits and gravy which he said was 'meh'. The coffee was TERRIBLE. Seriously, the worst diner coffee I've ever had. It felt like was drinking water filtered through a charred piece of wood. Will definitely be trying a different breakfast place next time we are in McMinnville.

Things not to miss about the WildWood Cafe (I think Wild Wood is actually 2 words on their signage...) 1. The art supply store next door is to die for.... Bring your checkbook if you're an artist or know/love one. 2. The toast. Yes, the rest of the meal is excellent and 5-star worthy -- but the toast is sublime. Trust me -- it is the highlight of the meal. Add a little dab of their marionberry jam, and it is DESSERT. Unbelievable. Really. I'm not kidding. The toast REALLY IS that good. And I mean, who on earth specializes in toast, of all things? Well -- this place comes to mind.... 3. Great, lush, clam chowder. Big smile. 4. The burgers are soooo made-to-order that even finicky husband was glowing with how right they got his lunch. 5. Breakfast "spuds" -- perfectly done. 6. Scrambled eggs were fluffy and perfect -- my selection was scrambled with green onions and jack cheese, then topped with fresh tomato salsa, avocado slices, and chopped purple onion. Perfect balance of fresh and tart veg, savory cheese, creamy and perfectly ripe avocado, and yummy eggs. 7. The decor. This place looks like a 1925 diner -- complete with mismatched chairs and tables, tin sign-wall art, and ads for products that haven't been made since God was in Little League -- and it's just wonderfully entertaining to read the walls. 8 Staff is friendly and attentive -- excellent experience. We will be back every time I need paint. :D

My husband and I love this place! We never try other breakfast places because when we want good breakfast food, we always go here! Pancakes are phenomenal - so are the breakfast potatoes and omelettes. Big portions for the price, you'll definitely leave full. Waitresses are hit and miss - sometimes they are very polite and sometimes they are very rude. We don't go there for the service, it's definitely for the food.

Epic dining with an accidental find in downtown. Love the egg beater decor. It's been a while, and still looking to get back someday...

Finally stopped in one afternoon for lunch, great food, and pricing is reasonable. Love the nostalgic decor, formica tables, old road signs, and old hand held beaters hanging rom the ceiling, oh and The Beatles playing in the background! Service was quick and friendly.... will be back to try breakfast~

This place smells amazing and it's very charming. I've been here many times as I grew up in the area, but I always seem to expect more than I get. It's not bad--not at all--it's just pretty average. It could be that I'm just ordering the wrong thing, though--I almost always get the Hobo Scramble. One of these days I'll try something else and update this review. You should expect a wait of about thirty minutes most days, but especially on Sundays after the church crowd gets out. Portions are indeed generous.

While most of the food is your average diner breakfast, granola coated fried bread with jam is outstanding. Regular fresh baked bread is quite fantastic as well.

I guess the last one hundred times or so I've driven by here, I was never looking for breakfast because I never knew Wildwood Cafe even existed. But I am sure glad our first choice fell through. What kept us from making it the first choice is a lack on an online menu though. Between the two of us we have dietary issues that we need to plan for. Usually it's of the "hold the cheese," or "I'll have the salad," type so it's easy to get around. But we are less likely to try a new restaurant without a menu - even a sample menu. Nothing sucks worse then sitting down, getting water, and finding out that there is nothing on the menu that we can eat. As others have mentioned, the service is somewhat inconsistent. There were three waitresses working the floor. And there is a yellow pad wait list outside the door. Since we saw a couple of empty tables inside, we didn't wait but went inside and stood around for a couple of minutes. One waitress may or may not have said "sit down" and vaguely gestured towards a 1950's "space age" Kitchen Table with 8 chairs at it. I definitely didn't catch if she did, and my wife is not sure. But seeing as another eight person table was shared by two couples we went ahead and grabbed the table. We finally got service a couple of minutes later from another waitress, the first one having disappeared completely. We are notorious for the amount of time it takes to decide what we want off the menu. OK, *I* am notorious for this. Usually a waitress has to come by twice to ask "do you need more time to decide?" The service here was slow enough that I was able to change my mind four times and was actually ready with an answer when the waitress finally came by. Once we ordered the food it came out pretty quickly though. But little things like a refill on water were neglected. I had the Downtowner and my wife had one of their veggie omelets who's name I can not remember and since I can't look at a menu, I don't know what it was called. Food quality was decent to good all around and about typical for a small cafe. The scrambled eggs on my dish left a bit to be desired taste wise, but a side of gravy helped out. The rolled in granola french toast made of in house baked bread was definitely the star though. Even my wife had a few bites, and she is not a french toast fiend by any means. Will I go back? I'm honestly not sure. The service issues are obviously due to poor processes and being ill-equipped to serve the amount of people they have coming in the door. Just as obviously, based on the number of regulars there, and the number of good reviews, my business wouldn't be missed if I didn't come back. Either way, Wildwood Cafe is a solid meal, the price is right, and that granola rolled french toast will cause cravings in time. At which point I probably will set my Sunday morning alarm for "dang early," and make the drive to McMinnville.

Local hang out with LOTS OF GOOD FOOD. Only FAT people eat here and they all seamed happy including me! I could not have asked for a better egg, potato, bacon meal anyplace. If for some reason you had a problem then speak up and it would have been fixed.

Gigantic portions but kinda grease covered would eat here again but maybe not get biscuits and gravy again. Coffee was mediocre

Every other breakfast place we tried was closed at 7am, except this place. Lucky us - the atmosphere was perfect - funky and eclectic. The breakfasts we ordered were so good, and the perfect sizes. The wildwood toast was the best thing I'd basically ever eaten.

Antique and old school vibe inside. It's a hotspot for the Linfield College goers, and it's not hard to see why! It's our home away from home when it comes to classic breakfasts. The Wildwood Toast is to die for :)

My sis was in town and we decided to do some wine tasting. She's really into wine and she thinks she's an expert. We tried a bunch of places in the Willamette Valley and ended up in McMinnville tired and hungry. The food here was awesome. Fantastic brunch - lunch stuff that hit the spot and didn't cost much. Service was a little slow but was fine overall.

We visited for breakfast on a Saturday morning about 11 am, the place was only half full, we had to stand in the middle of the restaurant for 10 mins while 2 waitresses ignored us. Then mumbled under their breath.... Something about how it was going to fill up soon?! The table was wiped down and without even looking at us the waitress told is to sit. Another couple walked in and were say right away and asked hat they wanted to drink etc. while they have amazing food.....their service lacks.

Tried again this morning - and caved and tried the biscuits and gravy again, because for the life of me, I can't resist ordering them. Good news, the biscuits were MUCH better this time. I think they changed their recipe because the shape was different as well, they were scone-shaped and nice and moist and fluffy. The gravy still isn't anything to write home about, but with plenty of salt and pepper it was okay. Really, it needs actual sausage. Preferably spicy sausage. My youngest loved the French Toast, (it was her visit) but didn't eat more than a bite of her scrambled eggs, stating they were rubbery. She's an egg girl, so she would know. Everyone else still gave it 2 thumbs up.

One of the best breakfast paces in Oregon. The coffee is great every time. No airs about the place. Very modest setting with eclectic decor and service items. The menu has a full fare of everything you could want from a comfort food haven. If you are a lover of home fried style breakfast potatoes, this is your place. You will definitely be stuffed and charmed by the great service. Your coffee cup is never empty at the Wildwood Cafe.

A McMinnville staple. Although they have good lunch options, you really come here for breakfast. I had the Baker Street Special. The eggs were great, the bacon was crispy like I enjoy it and the pancake was HUGE! You get the diner feeling with some cool things on the wall. Don't miss the beaters hanging from the ceiling. If you are in town visiting your kid at Linfield or coming through on a wine adventure, this should be your first stop in the morning to power you through the rest of the day.

The best. Our favorite. Good for family. Good for breakfast and good for lunch. Plus one time I ordered a BLT for breakfast and they totally made it for me. And they have good pancakes. They have good iced tea. The kids menus are made from childrens books.

When I was living in Ukraine for the past year, I dreamed about eating food at the Wildwood Cafe. Order an omelette, have a cup of coffee, and get ready for the best breakfast of your life. Save the toast and jam for dessert. The jam alone is to die for. Wildwood has a old country feel to it. If you're wanting a classy breakfast, you might want to find another place, but if you want the most delicious breakfast in a hopping local joint, stop in.

After reading the reviews on here, my boyfriend and I decided to try this out for breakfast. I liked the decor, old diner style and we had fun reading the signs on the walls while we waited for a table. There was no line when we arrived and were seated about 3-5 minutes after arriving. We noticed when we arrived a pad of paper outside the door which gave the impression they can become rather busy. The waitress was very nice. I ordered "The 'Motherload'" with potatoes, biscuits & gravy, eggs and toast (hey, I was hungry), while he ordered a piece of their Wild Wood Toast and eggs. The biscuits were a bit dry but the potatoes were very good, a bit crunchy on the outside but soft and warm on the inside. The Wild Wood Toast is homemade bread rolled in granola and it was very good! However, nothing really stood out about the place. Sure, the food, service and decor were good, but it felt more like an good-old-stand-by then a best-place-to-eat-breakfast-in-McMinnville. All in all, not great, but not bad. I would go back.

This is my favorite breakfast place in McMinnville. Food and coffee are always good here. I love the egg beaters on the ceiling! They give it an eclectic feel. I haven't been here for a couple years now after graduating from Linfield, but I would definitely come back for a visit.

Great food, huge servings (everyone at our table took home leftovers for a full second meal), and a friendly atmosphere. The food was served quickly, and breakfast is served all day. I loved my Katie's Calamity (scrambled eggs with avocado, sliced potatoes, and toast). Prices were normal ($7-8 plate), and I felt quite reasonable considering the amount of food we got.

Wonderful, local, unique place to have a fantastic breakfast. During the week you dont have to wait for a seat but on the weekends its well worth the wait. When we have family come up to visit, we always try to take them here for the wonderful Wildwood toast and omelets.

  • Whitney S.

The atmosphere is very whimsical- all kinds of fun old fashioned signs covering the walls, miss-matched chairs. Very up my alley as far as that goes. The absolute highlight was the Wildwood toast (I'm pretty sure that's the name). It's house-made bread that is baked with granola on the outside, sliced thick and made into french toast. Two slices of that and I was set. While that was the only memorable part of the meal, I'd go back again and again for that alone. Definitely a must-try if you're in the area.

Do you know the saying " She's the type of person who would give you the coat off of their back." ?? Well, the owner of this restaurant is just that kind of person so I can just imagine how wonderful this place must be. I was dining at another restaurant last night. Noticed a woman, who looked very friendly, wearing a Kyle Busch M&M's jacket so of course I had to meet her right? I had on my KB gear and pointed it out. Turns out she is an M&M fan. We laughed. She left. A minute later she came back in, asked me how big a KB fan I was then gave me her awesome jacket and left!!?? I was stunned! These NASCAR things aren't cheap and it really is so cool! I asked our server Sue if she knew who it was and she told me she just happened to be the owner of Wildwood cafe in Mac. We cant wait to go and try it and I will be proudly wearing my new gear. What a nice woman.

By far the best place in town. From the decor down to the homemade bread and marionberry jam . This place you can't beat. My dad came to visit me from North Carolina and he insisted we go to wildwood every morning while he was here. I always get the Murphy's omelet . If your craving something sweet and savory , the French toast is the way to go. With thick homemade bread and rolled and oats .. It's simply perfect

I've always gone to this Cafe because of their great food and services. But I visited them this past weekend and I can't say I'll return. Ever since the economy slid off this place has been cutting corners, this last visit was it for me. The Chicken fried steak was paper thin and it tasted like the grease it was cooked in. More money, less quality food :( not good.

Pretty good food. Waitresses are always nice. The blonde in her 20s or early 30s is a peach. Older lady was border line rude. And we had to get the blonde who wasn't our waitress to get us more coffee after we were waiting forever. The only other thing is the biscuits and gravy was cold. 3.5 out of 5.

Best potatoes and their think slice home made bread is awesome. Best traditional breakfast I ever had. Nothing urban fancy. I like that too but really want the best traditional home made breakfast this morning, and really struck it big on this find.

We were visiting a friend who recommended this place. My husband, our friend and I arrived and were seated right away. The server was pleasant and efficient. We received drinks shortly after ordering them and our order was taken accurately and quickly. I ordered their french dip and artichoke soup, Chris had a grilled turkey sandwich with added mayo and fried egg with fries and our friend an omelet. both our friend and my husband liked their meals, so really, this is more just about my food. The meat was dry and the dipping sauce was bland. There was mostly just a garlic flavor that was pretty strong (could see the garlic bits in the sauce - and the cause was VERY light and clear). The artichoke soup was thick and warm (both very good points), but there was a very strong, weird... "tangy" taste to it. I couldn't eat it. The fries Chris got were REALLY greasy and soggy. I couldn't even muster tasting them for fear of what that would do to my insides (I have a slightly sensitive stomach). I might try visiting there again if we're ever back in town to try something else on the menu, but i wouldn't order that meal ever again.

I have yet to be disappointed by the McMinnville food scene, and Wild Wood Cafe might be the biggest hit for me. Hands down, the City Spuds are the best breakfast item on the menu, and my wife loves their french toast rolled in house made granola. It's a smaller place, so prepare for it to be busy and crowded during high traffic meal times. If you have to wait a while to get in, it is well worth the wait. I have only had breakfast there, but the also serve lunch. If you're passing through McMinnville, you can't pass up Wild Wood.

Let me say excellent food. Could be cleaner inside. Since people eat inside. Service could improved in the mornings when its busy. Like adding another sever to take orders, seat people, collect checks, whip down tables, help other servers with orders, prep. But very good food.

I came here for breakfast at the recommendation of the GM of my motel. Easy-to-find location. Loved the vintage kitsch decor featuring formica tables, beaters/mashers hanging from the ceiling, and old signs, all pure fun! Basic diner food on the menu got me excited. What could go wrong? Apparently at 10:30 on a Saturday morning, the three waitstaff were slammed by a full restaurant. From the time I sat down, it took ten minutes to get a cup of coffee, and it was about 2/3 full when it arrived. I drank that pretty quickly, and it took another 15 minutes to request a refill, and 15 more minutes to get the actual refill, just when I was getting ready to leave! And the coffee is pretty bad. Now the food. Ordered the Motherload. Biscuits and gravy, potatoes, bacon, sausage and two eggs. WAY too much food, but 1) I thought it would give me a good overview of their quality, and 2) I could take the leftovers home and repurpose them. Anyway, the food arrived fairly quickly, and I dug into the biscuits and gravy, my fave. And they were .... COLD! Actually, just lukewarm, but I see at least one other review that mentioned cold biscuits and gravy. In fact, everything on the plate was lukewarm. Potatoes, meats, and the eggs, all lukewarm. The plate itself was COLD! And I have to wonder how long the plate sat in the pass. That's all a shame, because even though the biscuits were kind of dense and klunky, the gravy was actually good, which is always a pleasant surprise. The bacon was undercooked and limp. The sausages were fine. The eggs (sunnyside up) were overcooked. The potatoes would have been fun if they hadn't been lukewarm with congealed grease. So, we obviously had kitchen issues as well. As I was getting close to paying up and leaving, my server offered me more gravy for the biscuits. Even with that addition, when I reheated the biscuits and gravy this morning, those solid, dense biscuits had just soaked up ALL of the gravy. After a few bites, it went into the trash, and I truly hate to waste even bad food. And why would I need to wait almost ten minutes for my very obvious $20 bill to be picked up to pay the check? Frustrating, and a really crappy way to start the day.

This is my go to breakfast place in McMinnville if I want a casual spot or if the line at the swankier, tastier, and smaller Crescent Cafe is too long. It has a nice old school ambience with antique egg beaters stuck in the ceiling, old banquette booths, antique signs on the walls, and friendly pleasant service. I usually get the Downtowner, which has a couple eggs, crispy bacon and their specialty French toast made of homemade bread rolled in granola. It's delicious. Just wish they would up the quality of the ingredients a step, and provide real maple syrup.

I have the choice of two different omelets covered in gravy... need I say more? Its a nice breakfast place and the servings are big enough for me to have leftovers for lunch. If you're looking for breakfast in McMinnville- go ahead and stop in.

Love this place! We eat here every time we're in McMinnville. A couple of friends and I plan on having breakfast or lunch here when we do our annual yarn and fiber pilgrimage :-) and when my husband and I are in the area we eat here too. The food is great, and the decor (old eggbeaters all over the ceiling and old signs on the walls) add to the ambience. It's a very popular place so we try to time our visits after the main lunch crowd. Service is excellent, the menu choices are awesome, and portions are great. I've had their omelettes, sandwiches, and all manner of breakfast items. Every single one of them was excellent. Not to mention there's a yarn store next door and a fabulous fabric store across the street! What's to lose? Wildwood Cafe is small and neighborly and serves great food. Perfection!

I've eaten here on almost every trip to McMinnville - why? Because it's the best breakfast place in town. The service is pretty average, but the food and atmosphere are great. The coffee... um, not so great. Have I teeter-tottered enough for now? I think so... I've had breakfast, lunch, and they are both great. Perfect place to get your grease-on from your wine/beer hangover and to get on the road back home. It's got the whole diner-look going on, and the signs all over the walls are enough to make you dizzy (I hate to repeat myself, but with a hangover I don't much love these walls). Overall, a place not to be missed when waking in McMinnville starving for some greazzzy-diner- goodness, but beware because even the locals hit this place... therefore it's usually pretty busy if you go during the regular eating hours.

I was in Mac and my favorite restaurant, Crescent Cafe was closed so I scrambled with a last minute decision. I'd had a decent breakfast here a couple of times before so I went in. There were a lot of people eating and I got a table near the window. Keep in mind it was 20 degrees outside and it wasn't that warm inside of the restaurant either. Every time the door opened cold air came in. Many patrons left their coats on. I was thankful to get back to the car and crank up the heat. I had the Hobo Scramble which was pretty good except there was too much cheese on it. I liked the garlic on it. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. The service was quick despite being crowded. I do not like having my ticket brought to me right as I start my meal, but apart from that the service was efficient. I would say TURN UP HEAT!!!!

Went here with a large group - everyone was really accommodating in getting us seated. The french toast that has been raved about is THAT good. I describe it more savory as the mixture they "roll" it in isn't incredibly sweet. Although I didn't really try the other items that my table ordered everything seemed to be huge portions and everyone was happy. Service - great , food - great. Will come back.

I was driving through town, visiting from Washington looking for a place to eat. I turned into the chamber of commerce and asked if there was a place in town that had a good breakfast. Both of the nice ladies recommended this place. They said the eggs are fresh from the owner's farm; the home style potatoes are really good; and the home-made bread is the best! I ate there and was very, very satisfied. I went back there two days later and ate there again since I liked it so much.

I've been here a couple times and have enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Today's trip was a little discouraging. They were busy with only one waitress. We waited almost 40 minutes for our food. One table finally asked for their food to go because of their wait. For us with two hungry kids, that's a mighty long time! The food was delicious and devoured once it arrived. Just very frustrating.

Blink. And you'll miss it. If you have any idea about the treasures that await you at the Wildwood Cafe - you'll be sure to NEVER BLINK AGAIN. Or you'll end up like me - angry, irritated and sad. Sad that such sumptous food has been hiding right underneath your nose, and you had no freaking idea. Angry, because everyone else has been enjoying the culinary delights of the cafe for many a hungover morning, while you were stuck with cereal, or if you were lucky, Starbucks. And irritated, because what the HELL kind of friends do you have, not telling you about this place?? BUT! Now I know, and I am forever indebted to my dear, dear, wonderful, loving Clayton .... Sigh. Thank you for taking me to breakfast. My mouth owes you. Now. I have just a one thing left to say. HAHAHAHA! HAH! HA! Sucks for you guys that don't have Wildwood Cafe. (Often imitated, never duplicated.) I pity you and that sad thing you try to call "breakfast." Now, I think I'll have me some thick, scrumptious slices of homemade bread, rolled in granola and grilled to a crisp, golden brown ... slathered in homemade jam and whipped butter ... I told you not to blink.

This is my favorite breakfast place in town. By far is has the best service and the food is good. For breakfast, I usually think toast is a waste of time, but it's the best here. The jam is locally made and very tasty. My only complaint is the temperature controls need servicing. Too cold in the winter. My brother won't go back here with me because there was ice forming on the inside of the windows on his first visit, and he was chilled the whole second visit. I just wear a jacket the whole time but it would be a huge improvent to get that changed. The nicest people though, well done Wildwood!

One of the *many* things I missed while away from the area was the dearth of incredible breakfast cafes. The Wildwood was at the top of my list to go back to, and I'm happy to say that the patina of fondness was well deserved. Portions are extremely generous and the quality is excellent. There is a happy spot in my heart (likely a physical one too) for the City Center omelet. Piled high with sausage, ham, bacon, mushrooms, cheddar then tucked under a heavy blanket of eggs and sausage gravy, it is not for those concerned about their cholesterol intake. It is for your ravenous inner-carnivore and it will be satisfied. If there is room left in your stomach, the hearty homefries that accompany the omelet will happily take up the extra space. The service is good. Unless you guzzle coffee, don't expect to see the bottom of your mug. The only drawback is the size of the space they occupy. Seating is limited and somewhat cramped when they are busy - which is often. Be prepared for a wait outside the front door on weekends.

This is my favorite Breakfast spot in Mcminnville. Very large portions and the food is pretty good. Although the hash browns were really dry. If this place was in Portland I wouldn't return because there are so many better options. But in McMinnville this is the best breakfast spot I've found.

I don't know why this place is popular - it's grungy and the one time I ate there, the food was pretty bad. I had a Reuben for lunch, which was small, cold and dry.

Just had a blast eating a yummy breakfast. Went with our 3 boys and found a table right away. The kids menus are tucked inside children's books and the boys were entertained for the whole wait time. The portions were huge and delicious. Super family friendly will definitely go again!

I can't understand how this place is in business! This is a filthy restaurant! It needs to close for cleaning, to redecorate and rethink the menu. If your looking for large portions of marginal, oily diner food this is the place. The owner has obviously lost interest.

A cozy diner with good, hearty food. The kid's menu is unique, each one comes pasted inside a children's book. I was happy that they had green tea chai, it's my fav. I had the turkey minestrone soup, it was delicious. I'm a person that just really doesn't care to eat at diners much (I was just brought up that way where you wait to eat when you get home from town instead of wasting money), but if you're a person that actually does enjoy to do so, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed, the atmosphere, the staff and the menu are all great.

I ate here quite recently on a trip through Oregon. They serve an excellent breakfast. I had the wildwood toast and eggs. They use a really thick, hearty piece of bread for their toast and it's very tasty. They are about average price wise and can be very busy especially during the morning rush so expect a slight wait if you head here with friends. All in all a wonderful place to eat.
