I can't find one, even very small fault with Gourmet Productions catering service, from start to finish! I ordered a catered lunch for 100 people. The choices were all designed to go together in taste and presentation. The day of, as each was unveiled, we delighted in the beautiful presentation of everything. The fruit salad was fruit only in season, and was just-cut fresh, and really flavorful. The cheese platter was varied and really lovely. All afternoon I overheard my guests commenting on how wonderful everything was. I was excited to return their serving pieces the next day so that I could corner the staff and sing their praises. I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys. You can make the decisions and relax!
What a find!! Can't believe I've lived in LO for years and haven't found this place until now. Only open weekdays until 6:30pm. Half off of cookies and sandwiches after a certain time. ? 3:30p?. We really liked all the salads. My wife really liked the golden slaw. I liked the beet salad with capers and the quinoa salad. Flank steak salad was also delicious. The salmon cakes are fantastic, especially with the lime aioli. The quinoa cakes with 7-spice aioli was also pretty good. The 7 spice had some Indian flavors to it. Sweet potato jojos are pretty good too. I can see why they are popular... but I still prefer my jojo's hot. Not room temperature. Cookies are all pretty good. Tuna melt sandwich was decent. Overall I think my favorites were the salmon cake and the quinoa salad. Will definitely be back to try the other sandwiches. Service was also excellent. Just a warning, they do run out of some items towards the end of the day.
If you are in the mood for a yummy homemade salad ranging from quinoa to steak...great place for a light lunch!

I was looking for something fun to do with my mom when I was visiting her in Lake Oswego. The Thai cooking class at fuAsian turned out to be a great choice. I signed up for the three course Thai cooking class through their website ( fuasiancatering.com ). There was plenty of parking behind the building and there were six of us in the class on a Monday evening. I can't believe I learned to make three of my favorite thai dishes in one class. It is the perfect menu and I feel really confident that I can replicate the recipes at home. I learned so much about thai ingredients, which ones to buy, which ones to make from scratch, and some of those unique herbs, spices and vegetables that intrigue me in the grocery store. I am going to recommend this class to my family that lives in Portland and to my family that visit. Thank you to Thu Ha and best wishes on your new cafe hours. I think the Lake Oswego community will love your delicious food!
AMAZING Valentine's dinner at FuAsian... Upon arrival, we met ~5 other couples, also dining at FuAsian that night. The restaurant owner, Thu Ha, along with two chefs, prepared an unbelievable meal. Each dish was unique and beautifully presented. The open kitchen allowed us to see parts of the meal being prepared, and Thu Ha explained each dish as it came. Our seven course, prix fixe meal included the following: Squid and cucumber salad (perfectly fresh!) Assorted sushi and sashimi (several varieties - beautifully presented! And the fish was fresh and delicious!) Crab Cakes (gluten free and full of CRAB, not fillers!... plus a mayo-free dipping sauce) Orange duck soup (perfectly flavored with small mushrooms etc) Chicken satay with peanut sauce and side salad Pork & herb mini sandwiches (these reminded me of banh mi, but the "bread" was this amazing, soft sponge-like cake shaped like a taco...) Fresh fruit for dessert With each dish, we wished our stomachs were bigger! Everything was unique and freshly prepared. Both red and white wine were served as part of the meal. Altogether, this was one of the most special Valentine's meals we've had... From start to finish, we probably spent 4 or 5 hours on this incredible dining experience. Incredible food and attentive service, without any pretension! Highly recommend calling this place to schedule a dinner!!! (This is a belated post, as we were slow to download the photos!)
Took a sushi class and learned a lot. From making healthy, tasty Miso soup, different types of sushi, and the nutrition info on the ingredients. Thu Ha, knows her food, and teaches healthy and affordable options..Fun class, and you learn how to make Sushi!

Basic Starbucks with extra friendly staff, works for me.
I tend to gravitate toward locally-owned neighborhood coffee shops and don't often visit Starbucks, but occasionally I stop at this location because it's near my office. I have noticed that the employees who work there tend to stay on for years--a good sign. Service is always prompt and friendly and the baristas remember my name even if months go by between visits. My colleague who sometimes grabs a 5:45 AM latte on her way to the office has commented that the folks there are chipper without fail, even at that hour. The store is neat and clean. There's plenty of seating, including a couple of comfy, high backed chairs that are perfect for lingering with friends and a large table with electrical outlets where you can spread out your work if you are there for business purposes (free WiFi is available). There are a lot of smaller cafe tables, all near windows, and a few outside seats too. They have the standard selection of pastries, hot breakfast sandwiches and carryout lunch items. I don't go there often enough to keep up with the changing drink menu, but the baristas are happy to make recommendations or even prepare something that's no longer on the menu (such as the holiday beverages that change seasonally) if they still have the ingredients on hand. Recently I met a friend there for coffee and we got carried away chatting, not realizing that the store had closed. We apologized when we saw the guy starting to sweep up and began to gather our belongings to leave. Surprisingly, he told us we were welcome to stay and finish our drinks, since he would be there for a while yet. Really nice! This Starbucks is located in a business district so they close at 6PM weekdays and are not open on weekends.
Best Starbucks staff I've ever experienced...and I've been to a bazillion different Starbucks.

Normally wouldn't review a Starbucks. But I stopped here on a trip from Seattle to Monterey to get a hot cup of chai to help me on my way and while it was the same as any Starbucks Tazo chai, the customer service was amazing. Very friendly and.. I donno, I just felt so welcome. And the facilities were super clean too. So thanks for making me smile. :)
I'm giving a 3 because every other customer that I saw come through, was happy. Me, not so much. This location is near my son's school so I have stopped here just a few times, before or after volunteering. Every time I've come in, service has been slow. By this I mean taken a minute at least to even take my order, even though I could SEE three employees and the store wasn't busy. All other Starbucks ask if I want whip when I order a nonfat drink, this one didn't. Also, there was a lot of personal conversation going on every time I was in there. Once I stayed to read for awhile and the chatter was so loud between two employees that I couldn't read. I will say that the barista seemed to know the names of many people, and their preferred drinks and her friendliness was embraced by those she served. It was really the two other ladies on staff that made my ordering & payment transaction, and overall experience, just 3 star worthy.
Like any other Starbucks. Nice people, decent coffee. Nothing bad to say about it, but nothing extraordinary either.

My wife and I went to Sabrozon on a whim wanting to try something new and we were very pleasantly surprised. Upon entering we were greeted by a very peppy hostess who seated us immediately. The interior is authentically Mexican and everyone wears a smile. The chips were warm fresh and delicious. There were two salsas provided for the chips; one red (mild) and a green salsa (hot). As I couldn't decide on my meal, the server brought their four sauces out in little containers to assist in my decision. There were three enchilada sauces and a very tasty mole sauce. I ended up ordering the three enchiladas (two shrimp, one chicken) and my wife ordered the chile relleno burrito.
I loved this place. Food was great. Huge portions great price.and really nice staff. Will come back soon.
Absolutely love this place! Excellent food and cozy family atmosphere. Came here with my wife and three young kids. Everyone finished their meal. This does not happen very often. We will return on a regular basis. Really glad we found this great little place.

This place is nice and clean. However, it's very expensive. So, if you don't mind paying around $6 for frozen yogurt go do it. I usually get my froyo at Cosco, it's only $2 there!
This location is clean and well stocked. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. Nuts, candies, fresh and dried fruits, cereals, syrups and sprinkles abound. They had a decent selection of flavors. Sadly, the service is what we've come to expect when high school aged kids are alone and in charge. There is no reason places like this could/should not be run by automated robots. Robo-Yo!
I've been here multiple times now and each time, I'll have to say, I have been fairly disappointed. Let me start off with the good. The interior of the place is nice, its a bit dimly lit and has a very nice vibe to it. They have a good variety of toppings for your yogurt, and the workers have been very nice and helpful. The issue I had with the place is that it is a yogurt shop, yet their yogurt is the most lacking. I would say that 60% of the machines ran very "soft" and it ended up me scooping up a smoothie than it did eating yogurt. I gave them a pass the first time, but my next few visits all ended the same way. I think I may be giving up on this place... maybe ONE more try.

Good atmosphere, great coffee, and delicious gluten-free food options! I am coffee snob and I love this place. Julia is always friendly and welcoming!
Decent veggie sandwich with fresh veggies & salad on the side. Good customer service & free wifi. No complaints, did not try the coffee though. A bit too quiet/empty of a coffee shop to spend significant amount of time without feeling like you're the only customer there...
Blue Moon is the most neighborhood friendly/community driven coffee company I've ever been to. They take the time to ask you about your day, actually care how you're doing and the owner Julia is amazing. You could tell she trains her staff with the highest regard to customer service and community. The coffee is always the best and the atmosphere is very relaxing, yet welcoming. Please support this amazing local business that uses locally sourced ingredients and beverages/food!

Casa del Pollo

Reviews:
Like most people who have been to Costa Rica, I fell in love. The people, the Caribbean, the cloud forest, the pura vida! And every day, pura vida started off right with gallo pinto, tortillas and some cheese. Gallo pinto isn't complex, but somehow it tastes like heaven. Probably because you're surrounded by sloths and tiny gem like frogs and the nicest people. Casa del Pollo brings you right back there. The family who runs this place is straight Tico. It was like eating at my friend's house at Playa Bandera. Just talking about life, the world, being warm and feeling like you were in good company with a nice, big helping of the national dish, gallo pinto. This is a place to get a slice of Tico life right in Portland. Who knew? What a lucky find! The sauces are delicious and the rice and beans as warm and hearty as the company. They smoke their chicken in their smoker outside and it smells divine when you walk up. As cozy and welcoming as Costa Rica itself! Pura vida!
You will perhaps think spring break has made me easy, giving five stars on the first date at Casa del Pollo, but I don't think I'll change my mind as I plan to frequent this place now that I know how good the food is. This is the restaurant I wanted to try when my family ended up at the dreadful California Pizza Kitchen. Now I regret that fateful night even more because I just ate the best smoked chicken tacos that I've ever eaten. Granted, it's been a day of painting, gardening, and bark dusting, so I certainly worked up an appetite. But take a moment to drool over those photos of smoked chicken to see why this place could be an easy five stars. Go ahead. I'll wait. See? The taste trumps the photos--this chicken is moist and boasts a natural smoked taste, not too salty, not over done. There's no beer or wine, and the space is tiny with maybe six tables inside. When a small group came in after me, someone asked, "Is this a good time? Are you closing?" The owner answered with a smile, "It's a great time; when it's crowded, it's not so great." That might be true, but I happen to know it'd be worth the wait--just the salsas are worth the wait. Thanks, Yelp! I've driven passed this place so many times, not even noticing it. I would have never tried it without your support and those photos.
Really delicious food, friendly service. My 8 year old had a steak quesadilla and said said it was the best he ever had. Really cheesy and had big chunks of tasty steak. I had the ceviche (Fri and Sat only). Fresh tasting and a great lighter option. We will definitely be back!

This place use to be called Kolbeh, They have had a lunch brunch that I have ate at probably 30-50 times. The food is fresh, tasty, and filling. The only thing: I use to LOVE eating the kebab, and now they only give you one piece. That being said, its a big piece and its fresh and hot off the grill and not a part of the buffet. It isn't out there so if you read my review, don't forget to mention it while you're getting lunch. It'll be the capstone to your experience. - A
Surprisingly good. The dinner menu is limited in selection a lot of beef which I don't eat. We had the chicken kabob platter. It came with diced eggplant dish (not babaganoush), hummus, tomatoes, domate, cucumber & what we though we're Greek olives. NOPE black olives - strange. All good except the olives. The grill chicken kabob was amazing!!!! Our yogurt cucumber salad was yummy. The sabzi salad - we thought was diced up & mixed together. NOPE, it was whole radishes, half an onion, cubes of feta & probably the equivalent of a whole basil plant on the stems. It was good just surprising how it was served. We would defiantly come back.

I will say the builing itself does not impress me and looks a bit like a place I would not want cooking anything which is the only reason this is 4 stars....but it is Beaverton Bakery and they have most of the same stock as the one right in downtown Beaverton which is one of my favorite bakeries. I suggest you try anything but my current love is the almond roca cupcakes - they are incredible!
Although my initial experience with a certain Beaverton Bakery employee was irritating, I have to say my experience picking up my cake the next day was completely opposite. The employee I dealt with this time was very sweet and enjoyable and my cake was unreal. It was one of the best cakes I've eaten. Beaverton Bakery has always produced quality yummies and that's why I continue to go there but I will be on the lookout for "you know who" if I return. Good customer service is so vital people. Like Nike always says, "Just do it"!
The Almond Rocha cupcakes are our favorite! We must get them for our out of town guests every time. Delicious!
