Super fast delivery. Like wow. We ordered and had food at our door in about 25 minutes! Order the crab puffs, and you can thank me, and the chef later. The Szechuan beef is out if this world! I am super into szechuan sauce, and this place has it down! Egg flower soup - perfection. BBQ beef - Melted in my mouth, delicious. And wow, the cashew chicken, was so great!! Prices that won't break your budget, too. I'll have to dine in next time, this place had amazing food!!

Consistently Good Chinese food, we have ordered delivery numerous times, nice & speedy. Not the greatest location or ambience but worth the trip. Have Visited the dining room lots but chose the bar last night, definitely the local hole in wall bar but cheap, good drinks (Jenny pours a mean drink & is a sweetheart) & TV's to watch sports. This family puts their heart & soul into their business.

I don't write reviews very often. Normally it's only if I feel strongly one way or the other. Unfortunately this is a negative review. Ordered for my coworkers and I and we all got something different. We were all very disappointed. Firstly, we were hung up on in mid sentence with a phone order. We called back to cancel delivery because someone offered to pickup the order and they had already charged the card. This wouldn't have seemed like a huge deal but the disappointment to come made it that much worse. About ten dollars a combo plate, it was barely subpar. The subgum chow mein should have been called subpar subgum because it was salty and not at all what I was expecting based on other places with "subgum" chow mein. The noodles were crunchy but soggy and oversized. The bbqed beef tasted bland and had a weird texture. It was like thick paper. The sauce to the shrimp tasted like a mixture of ketchup and sugar. The bittersweet part was that the servings were half the size of the normal amount. Good and bad since it was terrible food! But at the price I paid, I was expecting more. I am not too picky with Chinese food but man, awful. Just awful. If you want very greasy, salty, expensive unauthentic Chinese food, eat here. If not, steer clear of this place and do yourself the favor of saving your money.

Simply delicious! Best wonton soup and sweet and sour chicken! The portions are huge! The best part is they deliver!

what a dump really the worst food I've ever had. Their so called Shrimp in Lobster sauce is just a Shrimp Alfredo! Save you're money

First time I tried this place. The delivery was very fast!! The Szechuan beef was really good. Kung po chicken was mainly cashews and celery. The main I took 2 stars was because the combo options are weird. Mainly pork dishes. I'm not sure what that is about.

Tried a local Chinese restaurant off baseline tonight 12-12-14 We ordered the Mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork and Wongs shrimp rolls. I had the Mongolian beef was really sweet and not spicy. The color of the beef was really light for beef, and it didn't taste or have the mouth feel of beef maybe sweat breads (real fatty) . My wife said the sweet and sour pork was ok, nothing to write home about. The shrimp rolls were big shrimp and onion in a wonton wrapper fried, but the onion took over the dish. Sorry it wasn't for me.

Never been disappointed with the food, the staff, or the people in the restaurant or bar. I come in a few times a month or more and highly recommend this establishment. Just a the fried rice, sweet dour pork and the egg flower soup. Still as good as the first time I visited them.

I was really surprised at how this place had gone down hill. It was nice before, now it is OMG bad. The sweet and sour was bitter, and burnt tasting. The pineapple tasted old, and perfumy. I had been coming here off and on since they opened, and was really let down with the place. It has become a bar, where you can order Chinese.

Such disappointment! I am fighting a cold. All I wanted was good won ton soup to soothe my throat and fill me with warm carb goodness. This won ton noodle soup was quite subpar. I come from San Francisco, so I do know good Chinese food. This ain't it! The broth tastes store bought. They didn't pack the noodles separately, so by the time they delivered the food, the noodles and wontons had soaked up most of the broth, so they were soggy. We ordered more food. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the beef chow mein was good and they do devein the shrimp. Potstickers were ok. While the soup was seriously disappointing, the rest of the food was ok but bland and mediocre. The order was expensive. At this price, we won't bother ordering again. So continues the search for go-to delivery food...

2/14 Update: Their Sweet and Sour Chicken is like crack, I cannot get enough of it 1/14 Update: I am giving them another star based on my experience yesterday. I ordered from them again and the soups were wonderful, (I ordered one hot and sour and one egg drop) both very good. I also ordered Barbecued Pork and it was delicious, tender and had the perfect taste. I ordered something more traditionally Chinese this time for my Entree, and it was perfect. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken with no Green Peppers. It was great, the chicken was crisp and white meat and the sauce was tasty. I will definitely get this again. I would like to try them in person next time and see how much better it would be fresh out of the hopper!

Sifting through dead trees from Our Post Office to see what I could throw out, I found a coupon for these guys. They deliver! I am absolutely not in the mood for people today; bad American-Chinese food delivered? I'm on it! $30 minimum. OK, I'll go fetch. Almost every Chinese restaurant in Hillsboro is deadly, some more than others; which Chinese joint is this? All the names roll around in my head. I used GPS to travel 7/10ths of a mile, for crying out loud. About as sketch an area as you find here in the Land of the Bland. On Baseline that is perpetually under construction. The area has all of the charm of a third world country. It across the street from the county lock up. Convenient for some, perhaps? The entrance opens to a dark bar with daily drink specials, which speaks to the crowd that hangs there, I suspect. That said, the drinks are cheap and there appears to be lots of busy things to do while you quaff. There is a backyard smoking room that looks like it could fit a MAX bus worth of smokers. So, what else is down this entrance? The bathrooms; a nice touch. No searching around looking for the can in this place. The dining room at the end of this tour, really does have all the charm of a beat up boarding house. Two hundred words in, Bob, are you going to get into the food? I like bad Chinese. I like to know that I will be drinking glasses of water all night to feed the MSG. The pot stickers were OK, that dipping sauce served with it is really good. They forgot the red stuff to put on my shrimps or chicken, not that I care much for that anyway. The shrimp hiding behind all the dough was really quite good, the chicken, dry. The egg foo young? About as good as I have ever had! Brown sauce was not obnoxious as it is in most places, tender patties with very good taste. Will I be back? Probably. It's not that there are not more authentic Asian food, for a lack of a better word, here in the Hillsboro area. But Bad Chinese is Good Chinese sometimes.

Meh. Bar side sounds awesome, but the restaurant/food... avoid. Not worth the 45 minute wait for the food. Just.... yeah no.

Typically I would give this place 3 stars on quality of food.. but since they actually deliver to our location, it makes us love them. More chinese places need to deliver!! We typically get orange chicken, crab puffs (they give a bunch which is great) and shrimp friend rice (which is also very good). Overall, pretty average food and a bonus star for delivery!

  • Michael N.

Best hot and sour soup around!! The owners are very friendly! I always get the chow mein for dinner and the sweet and sour chicken for lunch. The chow mein is made the old way with vegetables and crunchy noodles!

Slow but the food is good clean good service. Portions are a little small. Ask him to kick it up a notch on the curry chicken and it did and it's really good

Food was great as always. . And the "1" long island ice tea kicked my woman's butt! Poured her in the truck and then she passed out on the bedroom floor.

Was looking for a local place that delivered over the weekend and found Wong's. Had S&S Chicken, General Tso's, Szechuan Beef, and Chicken Fried rice. Overall the food was pretty good, the S&S sauce was good, above average compared to some others, the chicken was good a few overcooked dry pieces but mostly cooked well. The General Tso's was good, the sauce was sweet and spicy not too hot and not too sweet. The Szechuan beef which I didn't eat but my wife did was said to be okay, could use a bit more spice :) . The chicken fried rice was great, some good pieces of chicken in it, most places you only get flakes of chicken in the fried rice. Delivery was quick, and the driver was friendly. Will definitely order again and give some other dishes a try.

we order delivery from here all the time, it can be a bit slow during dinner rush (which is why the 4 in stead of 5 stars) but it has always been worth the wait. their sesame chicken is ridiculously good, and they can even do Singapore noodles (which isn't on the menu). they are very accommodating and even when the delivery is slow it is still piping hot when it gets to my house. Best Chinese delivery in Hillsboro!

I am a fan of American-Chinese food. (It may not be anything like actual Chinese food, but it is good for what it is.) I have a lot of experience trying out establishments as I move house and/of travel. This is simply put, the worst excuse for "food" in this genre. It is so bad, that you wish you had eating mall Chinese, like Panda Express. That is an amazingly hard feat for an independently owned restaurant to achieve, but Wong's has done it. The sauces were nasty, the meat undercooked, and vegetables shoddy. The soup tasted canned, and the elements that were fried, for Kung pao chicken, gelatinous. We essentially threw our entire takeout order away, and we have pretty low bar to cross for what we will eat.

Disclaimer - I've only used Wong's for delivery. For delivery, they're great. I think there is a $30 minimum, but they are always pretty fast, and the food is always good. I'm surprised by all of the low reviews - it's Chinese takeout quality. I don't think there should be any surprise in what you are getting.

This morning before work a coworker texted me, where is there Chinese takeout by my house? She just moved to my side of town. Hmm. China Bay, I told her. Not too far from her. Prior to lunch however, this got me thinking about Sweet and Sour Chicken. Seriously, could I fixate on anything less healthy?? REALLY? My tummy's brain said, nope, that's what I want. It was eating brown rice, kale, and broiled fish all week that did it to me, Sigh. What I wanted was Legin's sweet and sour chicken.Say what you will about Legin, the sweet and sour was always perfect. So I called in to Wong's in HIllsboro for takeout. The good: Lunch specials are reasonable ( $6.50). Entrees not bad. Sweet and sour chicken was $8.50. It was ready in the ten minutes they told me, it came in a bag with a container of sweet and sour ( that was hot, and tastier than most pink sauce,a nd I love that it was packaged separately to keep the chicken crispy), a small container of steamed rice, and a larger container of fried chicken pieces. Chicken was tender inside, crispy outside, not too greasy, and hot. Not too salty. There was a fortune cookie and soy sauce in the bag. The nice man asked me if I needed a fork and I asked for chopsticks and he gave them to me. Sweet. The bad:( I'm nitpicking here, ok) There was ONE carrot sliver, ONE piece of green pepper, two pieces of pineapple, and ONE onion sliver floating int he sauce. They were all perfectly cooked (ie crispy not soggy and floppy)... but if there had been more than one person eating ( like say, my child) there would have been a problem. She loves the carrots. I think there should have been more of them. P.S. The fortune cookie tasted good and was not in a plastic package. It says I'm going to have profit from an investment opportunity. GO me. Wongs on the inside and outside is kinda divey, definitely plain, not special. But it's a reasonable place for a work lunch or takeout. I'lll do it again. The entree size was good sized and I have leftovers to take home... no veggies of course.

YUM!!!! and I'm so picky! I can't believe there are any negative reviews on here-delivery!!!! Oh , we are hooked! All of the appetizers are yummy! Pork fried rice-perfect! And they arrived quickly! Stoked!

I had the General Tso's chicken, the Crab Puffs (Rangoon), Seaweed and Egg Flower soup, and the Shrimp Rolls. I don't know what was going on with some of the other posters here but I enjoyed the food thoroughly. Price was right, the delivery was on point, and it arrived so hot I damn near burned my mouth on the dipping sauce! Couldn't eat it all, hopefully it will be good tomorrow! I will DEFINITELY order from Wong's again. Good stuff!

Eh, it's okay. We eat there a couple times a month and love the shrimp fried rice, but it is nothing special. Ordered wonton soup for takeout one time and it must have been the cabbage soup or something because it was inedible. If you're jonesing for Chinese food in Hillsboro, this will give you your fix.

Mixed feelings about this place. There was absolutely nothing bad about this place but after a friend talked Wong's up, I think I set my expectations way too high. I kind of anticipated that there would be something unique and special about the food, but there isn't. It is good, all Americanized Chinese with no real specialty dishes to get hooked on. Bartender was supremely nice, made a good drink and kept 'em coming. They seem to do a great take out business as well and they deliver, which is a plus. The hubs and I would come back and chill in the bar but would probably not go out of our way to sup here.

If your into rotten chicken go far it, otherwise don't waist your time. I have been in the meat industries for 20 years and there is a difference between chicken that is borderline edible and chicken that's not worthy of crab bait and that's what we got in our dish! Some pieces were ok and some pieces were rancid which means that bad rotten stuff has been mixed with good stuff in a effort to minimizes loss in the kitchen. If it smelled that bad Cooked in peppers sugar msg and sauce you well enough knew it was bad before you cooked it! Nasty nasty nasty I will be contacting the health inspector in the morning!

I'm pretty sure this is a money laundering establishment disguised as a Chinese food restaurant. The service is good, but the food is by far the worst of any place I've ever tried. Americanized beyond recognition and looks like it was prepared by a three year old with mental deficiencies. My only ever one star review of anything.

My family and I have been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant in Hillsboro for a few months. Say what you will, but Haggen's had some pretty darned good Chinese-American food for the price, and, since they closed, we've been jones-ing for sweet-and-sour anything. This evening we shook ourselves out of our doldrums and tried Wong's. Now, I really wanted to like this place. I truly did. Yeah, I should have known... This same location has been at times and in other incarnations a Chinese restaurant, two Mexican restaurants (that folded in quick succession of one another), an indian restaurant and another Chinese restaurant before it became Wong's (and that has just been in the short time I've been living in Hillsboro). But I was rooting for the underdog; hoping that Wong's would be able to shake off the terrible food karma associated with that corner lot and make a go of it. After eating there today, I'm certain the Ghost of Bad Eats Past still inhabits the building. While the owner/manager and the waiter were friendly, the food was abysmal. The bowl of hot and sour soup we had for starters had a nasty, "I've been on the serving line too long" flavor. The appetizer plate was greasy, mostly deep-fried and flavorless (except for the rancid shrimp hidden in a wonton wrapper; that had some flavor...). Then came the main courses. My wife has an axiom for Chinese restaurants... "If you can't do Sweet and Sour Pork right, you shouldn't open." Her entree wasn't done right. I've never tasted sweet and sour sauce that was neither sweet nor sour. It was flavorless! My meal, Mu Shu Pork, should have been named Mu Shu Salad because it was mainly cabbage. Even the fortune cookies were mushy and stale. The hoisin sauce, which probably came from a bottle, was the high point of the meal... My wife and I have been to literally hundreds of Chinese restaurants all over the world and we both agree; this is the worst we've ever visited. Period. I would give Wong's a "no-star" rating, but one is as low as Yelp will go and still let you write a review...

Had lunch here today, ordered General Tsao's chicken. They let me be creative with my order and add some broccoli to the order, for no extra cost, awesome! The sauce was really tasty without being overly hot, the chicken was dark meat and okay/good enough, perfectly cooked. The fried rice and hot and sour soup were okay, as one of the other reviews said, decent Chinese takeout quality. The owner was there and came to my table to ask how the food was, which I really appreciated. I'll be back.

After several restaurants have come and gone in this location, I hope this one stays. Wong's has really good soups and BBQ pork fried rice. I don't venture much on the menu and almost always get the sweet n sour chicken. Very good sauce, and more importantly - good cuts of chicken, hot inside and crispy outside. I like the hot n sour soup most, but my friends like the egg flower soup a lot too. This has become a weekly stop for me and am never disappointed. Friendly, prompt service is consistent. I've always eaten in the dining room, but notice that they make a lot of deliveries so it must be a popular choice for the local neighborhood.

It's decent. Wong's doesn't do anything out of the ordinary from what we could tell and after ordering twice, can confirm with some certainty the food is just your average Chinese take out: no more and no less.

It is what you expect... How to cook Chinese: lots of oil, celery and cornstarch. It is cheep and you get what you pay for. If you want to fill up for little money and don't really care about quality, then this is your place. Clean though.

My Husband and I love Chinese food. I even attempted to once make it myself and I think I did better then this place did by researching ingredients on the web and throwing it together. I was very disappointed. I have been going to a specific Chinese restaurant in the area since I was a kid, but I was hoping this place would be great. I was sad to find out that they only make spring roles instead of egg roles they posted on the menu. That is my main food I go for. Yes the price was ok but as any Chinese restaurants prices in the area when we seen the menu but it was half the amount of food as we get at others. I went in and scoped everything out and it is well clean and friendly on the outside, but inside the kitchen is were the true problems are. The chow mane was not good but ok, but as for the pork fried rice it was like they used minute rice and added veggies to it. When my husband goes all he likes to get is the house rice and this was disappointing when he got this small portion as that we could have made at the house. Chinese rice is suppose to be brown I in all my years have never seen it white before. My rice was the same way but also the pork looked and tasted extremely old and bad and dried out. Pork is suppose to be moist not so dry that it crunched in my mouth. The tea wasn't what I love to drink either. The only reason I was able to give the waitress a tip was because she was very nice and helpful. I asked her before I tipped her if she was the owner if she had been she wouldn't have seen a dime. Although we asked for no ice and through dinner we had to listen to her personal phone calls. She also was complaining to one person she was talking to about how busy it was in the restaurant. There only was me and my husband and another couple with their 2 small children. I will never go back to this place again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
