I'm a simple gal. It takes a lot more than ripped upholstery to keep me away from the best pizza I've ever eaten and I've eaten pizza all over the U.S. The gal who took our order, Alena (what is on my receipt) was amazing! She smiled, laughed and was willing to bus our food/drinks upstairs because she said it had been so slow. I was ready to invite her to eat with us, she was that personable! The food was pretty much on point. My boyfriend was a little butthurt he didn't get a pickle with his sandwich but whatev. Then I guess there was a shift change and the new gals were bad... cold. It was about 5:30 when I went out to smoke and one of the girls walked upstairs and locked all the doors. My bf couldn't open them without a key. I walked all the way around to the front and was met with dagger eyes. Why have a smoking balcony if you can't use it? Maybe patio tables lined with ashtrays are the new 'show towels'. Then we asked for a side of hot sauce to take with our leftover pizza. They could provide us with some but since the new girl behind the counter would have to squirt it into a little plastic container it was going to cost us. Mind you, the place was empty. In hindsight I guess we could have just asked for the sauce and sprayed our pizza with it but you know what they say about hindsight. So we pay extra for some hot sauce and bounced never to return again. Note to management; hire some more Alena's and I'll eat there enough to put your kids through grad school.

Pizza has that cracker crust which I love. Hands down it beats the other pizza in town. Decor wins no prizes though.

First time ever of calling in an order, giving them 40-45 minutes, and still had to wait about 13 minutes. And they have my name as Marge (which I detest) instead of Margaret.

Do Not Eat Here! Notice the microwaved sauce cups. What a nice touch and surprise to find fresh mushrooms on the salad bar then to have our main pizza come with caned yes canned mushrooms. My soda pop tasted sour. Many things wrong. McDonald's would have been better.

All things being fair , this is quite possibly the worst pizza establishment I have had the unforgettable opportunity to visit . please tell me what is involved in the process of making pizza? and why does it take 1 !/2 hours to build a one ???????? let me put this in better prospective. I would fire the whole crew and start over beginning with the manager/ owner unfortunately I did have the opportunity to to chat with and he was a totally rude idiot. PLEASE. do yourself a favor and order dominoes, Pizza Hut, Round Table Ect ... as at least they don't forget you are a customer. does the word ignorance come into this picture?

Ye Old Pizza Shoppe is a gem of a restaurant. They have been in the Hermiston community as long as I have been in the area (about 15 years now) and have thrived because they know how to do it right. I have had pizza in Baltimore and Philly and these guys are comparable with any joint back there in my opinion. These pizzas are everything I like about pizza. Located off 395 across from Les Schwab, Ye Olde Pizza Shoppes latest home is located next to the motel there. The building isn't new, but it's excellent for a pizza shop. The downstairs portion is complete with booths from one end to the other. Seating is comfortable. There is a fresh salad bar is located down there. The atmosphere is more private. They also upstairs seating more akin to a sports bar complete with a bar service, tvs, and video games (which of course the kids spend all there time and my money at). They offer enough seating up here for small functions such as birthdays. It is a little more loud and lively. The waitstaff is above average and will go out of their way to make your experience enjoyable. Whenever I have had any issues they go out of their way to make it right. Even remaking a pizza that had onions (my kroptonyte) by accident, with no questions asked. This pizza is perfection. The crust would be considered a more regular or traditianal as opposed to thin or pan. It has been perfected to a great blend of crunch on the outside while moist and chewy in the middle. The sauce compliments the taste splendidly. They know how to put on the right amount of toppings to make everything work. The meat they get is from a meat shop in Pendleton and the sausage has outstanding flavor, but really all the meats are very tasty. They always put fresh ingredients (even fresh mushrooms if you ask). We have eaten there for years. In fact, we prefer to eat there everytime we are in town, because its a happy compromise for the families. The only thing I would change is to switch up the salad to something other than an iceburg lettuce, but really thats not that big of a deal. The price for portions are comparable to any of the non chain pizza places. The food is amazing. This has to be my favorite pizza in all of the Columbia Basin, so if you find yourself in Hermiston and craving a bite stop in and try this place.

Great pizza. Best in the area. Salad bar is below average. Try the taco with jalapeños , and extra hot sauce!

Salad bar was great...pizza not so much. They used canned mushrooms.

This place is really good. The pepperoni is my favorite. No other pizza joint rivals it. I have been eating here my whole life.

In the past I have had good pizza here. Last Friday was possibly the worst pizza I have ever eaten. I was starving for pizza and what I got was double crusted cardboard crust. Since this is the only homegrown pizza in Hermiston I may have to rethink my pizza night. I don't want Pizza Hut, etc on my pizza night.

I had two chances to change my mind, and I'm sorry that I didn't. Spending an afternoon in Hermiston, we wanted to start with lunch. He wanted to eat at El Tapatio, but I said I wanted to try a different type of cuisine. I looked on Yelp for nearby restaurants, and seeing this one, I decided that pizza sounded good. True, some reviews were good, some were bad, but I wanted to give Ye Olde a chance. And I was sure that we would be happy with the family owned eatery. Driving into the parking lot at 2pm on a Thursday, my beau said, "This place looks closed down. Sure you want to eat here?" I encouraged him to drive closer to the door so we could see the hours. Sure enough, they had been open since 11am. We decided to park, making sure to not hit the woman who was sweeping the parking lot. I found myself thinking that it was really nice that the restaurant owners hired someone to sweep their parking lot, who may otherwise not have a job. As we got out of our truck, the woman was walking in our direction so I looked up, smiled, and said hello. She said hello back. For a couple of different reasons, Beau said in a low tone of voice, "You still sure you want to eat here?" I said yes and we walked in. It was completely empty inside, with low lighting and a peculiar set up. We found our way past the salad bar to a table, and the woman in the kitchen very briefly looked up at us. As I smiled, she did not return the pleasantry or provide a greeting, and looked down back to whatever she was doing. I could only find one menu, of which I grabbed so we could both look at it while seated at the table. I then took a closer look at the salad bar to see if I would like to order a trip to the salad bar with my lunch. Unfortunately, the ice berg lettuce was of such poor quality, as evidenced by the only colors in the bowl being white and brown, that I wouldn't have even eaten a salad had it come with my lunch. Once deciding on what we wanted, I went up to the counter by the kitchen to order. The lady said,"Did you finally decide?" After ordering and paying, I decided to write in a 20% tip. I thought that maybe this young woman was having a very bad day, so that might brighten it a bit. No 'thank you' for the tip when she looked at the receipt, which I found slightly off. I sat down and she brought our soft drink to the table, while we began to peruse our newspapers. Ten minutes later our appetizer came out: jalapeño poppers. All was fine and good except... They were brought out to us by the woman who was sweeping the parking lot. I had figured she wasn't a food service employee, judging by a number of characteristics of her appearance, and I at once began thinking to myself that I really hoped she washed her hands prior to touching our plate. She asked if we wanted ranch or marinara (it would have been a nice touch if they brought out a little cup of each), and when we said we would like ranch, she returned with a mostly empty, food service-sized, no-label bottle of ranch. The jalapeño poppers tasted good, no complaints, but then my pizza came out; it was a small cheese pizza. The first thing I noticed was the low quality of cheese used. Picture a slice of cheese pizza: ooey, gooey mozzarella, hugging the sauce and bread, dripping off the sides. This was not that cheese pizza. This pizza not only had about 50% cheddar cheese on it, but the two cheeses were not melty or ooey gooey. The cheese had a solid, smooth look to it. That type of low quality cheese that when it's melted, it's not really melted. When biting into eat, I could only taste crappy cheese and bread. The amount of marinara sauce was barely perceptible. When my pizza was brought out, I figured his burger was right behind it, as the parking lot lady didn't say, "The burger will be here in just a couple of minutes" or anything of the sort. We waited one minute, two minutes; he told me to go ahead and eat, as his burger should be here soon. One slice, two slices, five minutes, ten minutes, now half the pizza is gone. I stop eating. Fifteen minutes rolls by; no one has said anything about the burger to us. I go up to the counter, and after about 30 seconds the parking lot lady walks by. I ask for a box for the rest of my pizza, along with money back for the burger. She says, "I'm sorry" and gives me $9 and some change back (we had paid for bacon on the burger), we boxed up the pizza, and then we left. Driving away, I realized I didn't ask for the money that I tipped back. Dang it! This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in a long while.

You can save time, and money by going to the store and buying some saltine crackers, cheese, and ketchup. then head back to the bed bug ashtray smelling shithole motel connected to this establishment. And melt them in your microwave. Then you will have, Ye olde pizza shop style pizza. I can honestly say that I have never had anything that tastes worse than this pizza! For $19 I had a mushroom pepperoni and sausage cracker, that tasted like everything came out of a can or a garbage can. Pizza Hut, Little Caesars, dominos, anything tastes better than this! If you enjoy eating pizza made at this place then you don't know what pizza tastes like. This is total garbage. And it is time to expand your horizons, and try different pizza. For that matter, it's even better to try making your own pizza from scratch with absolutely no knowledge of how to make a pizza, rather than eating here. it's expensive. And the pizza sucks! if it were possible to give a lower rating than one, then I would definitely give a lower rating.

Our last night on the road for a treat. Well we should of fought the cowboys in Pendleton. The crust tasted bland. Sure it had cornmeal on bottom that was kinds burnt. But our garlic chicken was cold and runny. Had to have it cooked longer before eating. They did a lot of carry out for the locals. The carpet needed cleaning.

if you like torn booth seats, and pizza that may have just been from the frozen aisle in Safeway. Then this is your place. I know they can do better, and hope the owners see this review and make a change. I'll definitely go back and try then again if they do!

I've been wanting a place that used canned mushrooms. Can't get fresh mushrooms on pizza in NY because they burn to paper in the oven. Canned is the only way to have mushrooms on pizza.

Pizza was very good. The place is definitely interesting. 3 tables here, 2 over there, a few upstairs...but oh well. It is all about the food. The place was extremely busy on a Saturday night. Lots of take out orders and you know that it is good if the locals are getting their pizza here. I thought the pizza was better than I imagined and way better than the chain options in town. The order taker was very cheery and happy even though they were crazy busy. I'd definitely go here if you're looking for pizza in Hermiston.

Flew into the Hermiston airport and asked the operator where to get a good pizza. We were sent to Ye Olde Pizza. Decent atmosphere and a wide variety of pizzas to choose from. We ordered a large pie and went upstairs to play pinball and watch TV while we waited. The pizza itself is ok. Nothing to get excited about, but fresh toppings and they weren't too heavy. The cheese didn't taste like true mozzarella. Maybe a preshredded blend or the diced stuff? It hit the spot.

The pizza could definitely be better, and the cheese tastes a little off. Overall I rather get this than pizza hut next door

I love how people write reviews..Especially people who complain about "canned mushrooms". Ye Old Pizza Shop is a gem in Hermston. Every time I go home to see my mother I have to eat lunch and have my "Hermiston Delight" fix Sausage, Mushrooms (canned just to make a point I have tried this combo with fresh mushrooms and its not the same), and black olives. Been my favorite when it was under the original owners when the place was in Hermiston Plaza and its true today. Their crust is crispy on the bottom and layered pillo type on top.. the Sauce complimetns the pie without over powering the taste.. I have eaten pizza all over the world and I have only found one place in Portland and One place in Texas that has anythink like this type of pizza. The owner is a great guy and proud to show you how he makes the food in the place.. He wants people to tell him their concerns on the spot.!!!!!

Great pizza, good crust, meats were amazing, the lucky 13 pizza has a nice spicy kick, my only complaint, the iced tea was aweful.

Really good pizza with homemade dough. They also bake all of their sandwich bread. Salad bar is not so great, but we go there for the pizza anyway. Service is good

Classic pizza joint that will take you back to the 90's. Probably the best pizza in town, salad bar that serves 3 different jello salads, and a jukebox that plays Barenaked Ladies and Backstreet Boys. A must for a trip down memory lane.
