I am definitely not a fast food person and I don't think this is a whole lot better. Agreed the quality is better and it doesn't have a drive through but it's not much different. To me it's okay food and decent fries but still greasy fast food. If you're looking for a step above the local drive through you'll be happy but it's just a step above and nothing amazing.

So yummy. Everything. You can't go wrong here. I only give 4 stars because this is like twice a year food for me. It's so greasy and you can feel adding to the heart attack you will one day have from eating like this but DAMN! Is it good! They serve what I would call home style burger and fries better then your mom ever did. Sorry mom! They have always been fast and friendly and I have never had to worry about checking my order before I leave. Just rating this place makes me want to head there now.

Love this place. Whenever we take a trip into the valley we stop here for some good eats. Great tasting food, friendly service, and a nice casual atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable and they always give you loads of fries. Love that you can choose from so many toppings. Definately worth the stop.

Sometimes you just want a good burger. This is a good start. Totally customizeable with a lot of options. Fries are delish, try them cajin and you won't be disappointed.

My husband calls me Wimpy...so I should know a good burger. We both downsized to the "small" burger and share a small fry and drink.....we still have fries left over. You can have so many topping for free I forego adding cheese or bacon. Their fresh cut fries are really crispy, normally not a fan, but these are really good and they have malt vinegar to top with.. Only reason did not get 5 stars is the tables always seem to be dirty.

Five Guys is a national chain fast food burger joint serving up a burger that's vastly superior to most fast food burgers. The restaurant is more akin to an In-n-Out style than, say, a McD's or BK, since the menu is short and to the point - burgers and fries. Do one thing and do it well, and that works here. However the burgers here shouldn't really be compared to In-n-Out, they represent something a little different. If you've been to one Five Guys, you've been to 'em all when it comes to the selection. However at this location I noticed two distinct extras - one, the place was fairly empty at noon on a Friday. No waiting to order. That's nice. Two - my burger was the most carefully constructed of any Five Guys burger I've ever had. Usually my FG burgers are a smashed ball of bun, meat, cheese, sauce and toppings. This one actually looked and ate like a burger. Which is a nice surprise. Staff was friendly enough, location is convenient to 26 on the way to/from Hood, and parking in the strip mall is plentiful. So there's that too. I do always have to laugh at all of the magazine articles and newspaper clippings on the wall with restaurant reviews of Five Guys (usually in DC, where they started, or in the south). I mean really. These are good solid fast burgers but they're not going to win any culinary awards. But whatever. It won't change that I've become a Five Guys fan in absence of any In-n-Out closer to me than Redding.

Extremely good burger for that price! Patty was nice an moist, perfectly grilled. Got the Hamburger All The Way no Pickles or Mustard. Veggies were fresh and perfectly grilled as well. Got the "Little Fries" definitely more than enough! Could use a little more salt to my taste. Staff was nice and friendly, got the order in under 7min. Nice and Clean, definitely will be back for another Tasty Burger!

If you want a fresh burger and fries with as many toppings as your little heart desires this is the place. I've been to other Five Guys' locations and this one has been the most consistent in prep/presentation as well as minimal wait times (compared particularly to the Beaverton location). Be prepared for the "gut bomb" that ensues and do know the more toppings you add the less structured your burger will be (think mushy). The fries are awesome and a Regular can be shared with a 2nd (or 3rd person). The staff are efficient and pleasant here, and don't forget you can order online!

Awesome home made style burgers. Tasty and genuine. Same price with all the extras. I'm not even a "hamburger " lover. I really enjoyed it. Massive amount of fries too!

Need a burger to stuff your face and hit the spot??? This is the place- I get the black line (minus mushrooms, add peppers) on my bacon cheeseburger! Fries are a definite plus!

The food is great, price is a little up there though. Very friendly staff. Eye contact and a smile really goes a long ways. Thanks! A large order of fries will for sure feed a family of three. Little crazy on the lettuce for the lettuce wrap option.

My review is for the online ordering experience. Kept getting a glitch in the process, and was instructed to contact " support@olo.com " for assistance. Did not hear back while I was trying to do this, so I had to keep futzing around with it, and I finally got it to work. Not an experience I'd want to repeat. I sent the request for help at 1:05pm, and they finally wrote back, at 2:48. Completely too late to be of use. And that would be IF they offered any help. The response I got said "Thanks for contacting Olo Customer Support. Sorry for the delayed response. Please let us know if you have any questions." Well, I had already stated my question in my initial email, so it was a complete non sequitur. The food I finally got there was good, and the employees at the store were nice, but I won't be ordering online from them again, "Olo" kind of made sure of that.

Friendly! We phoned in an order for bacon cheeseburger and cajun fries. We got a great burger, maybe someone elses? No bacon, not even close to what we ordered. but the fries were very tasty, and the burger was good. Though, we DID want what we ordered. Would be nice if they double checked the order? The person on the phone repeated back to me the order, so Im sure it was written down right. IF we go back, I'll order in, and then just take it ; once iM sure the order is correct.

This place is trying for a interesting atmosphere. Bright white with red, tile walls, people hopping all over the place, and blaring music. The service was par, nothing special. You walk in the door and there is a pallet of peanuts, roasted peanuts in the shell. You are welcome to take a handful and snack on those while you wait for your order. The shells end up on the ground, which can be a distraction to some people, (My wife thought it was dirty), or you just think hmmm, trying for the old saloon look. The burger itself was decent, not to fatty and cooked well. The condiments were a nice selection that allows you to customize a bit, sort of like a Subway of burgers in that sense. Though the burger was somewhat cooled down by arrival. I like the fries, they were chunks of potatoes with the skin on them and not hollow grease sticks. I wish I would have tried the Cajun seasoning they had, but alas, I did not. In the end, it was just a burger joint that was a bit high priced for what you get.

Pretty good burgers. Very simple design, and very simple burgers. I like how you can see them make the burger. It is reassuring that it is real ingredients being used.

very good hamburgers, last time i went, the person taking my order didnt get it quite correct and added grilled mushrooms when i didnt ask for them...i told the person who gave me my order and they immediatly made me a new fresh one and told me to keep the other one if i wished....price is a little high, you can get the same quality burger at a good beer pub for a few bucks less...but this is no fast food burger, its the real deal

These burgers are essentially the same as what you would get at a family bbq. I think that's why folks either really like them or not. I like the topping choices and I like that the burger is made when I order it. I can't eat more than a couple of fries because of the crazy amount of salt, although I do like them. This restaurant is pretty crappy on the inside, but I don't know what else they could do with the space?

Hey-o! Best burger in town ("burger" being a cheeseburger and town being Gresham). It is a big, juicy, get-the-drippings-all-over-your-hands mess that you will not be disappointed by. The meat is tender and flavorful, the veggie fix-ins are crisp and fresh and melded together, they make a great team. My few complaints are that, I have yet to eat something from this place without it giving me a stomachache afterwards. I know that sounds pretty damning, but it doesn't stop me from going back, so... yeah. Good to go!

Went on a Thursday just before 7 for the 2nd time here. First time I told the girl it was my first time going and it was AMAZING!!! Delicious!! MmM Good! This past time vomit central. the fries were the same shade of brown as my wood dresser and the burger patty looked like someone who was afraid to eat formed it. . . it was so tiny!! The grease put a hole in the brown bag, but since I threw away the fries because they were so gross it didn't matter. The burger tasted average and not in a good way. what happened from my first trip to the 2nd? Maybe I should just tell them it's my first time there every time and wear dark glasses and a hat? Looks like Burgerville will get my business if this is how they roll

Great burger place! A bit pricy, but more than worth it. Simple menu and fixed exactly how I wanted. Huge amount of fries with even the small order. The systems in all the five guys I've been to are consistent and always leave me happy with my food and the experience.

Probably the best burger I've had in a long time and great fries too! (Better than Red Robin burgers)

  • Eden N.

Five guys is chain that is loved by many and hatted by some. I'm not really a fan, but this place really has no pretense. It's not clamming to be a gourmet. It's a place for BIG 'merican burgers with lots of melted American cheese, and decent fries. It's not the worst burger I have ever eaten. I think the best part of Five Guys is the `Classic` brown paper bag with with grease stains.

  • Erin L.

Five Guys has easily become one of my favorite places to get a burger. My favorite things about this place are how you get to pick what you want on your burger, which they have many ingredients to choose from and they make everything fresh right in front of you. Their fries are pretty spectacular too and are definitely better than McDonald's. They are a little pricey but for getting to choose your own toppings and the amount of food you are getting, they aren't really something to complain about.

  • Andrea B.

Five Guys is a great new chain. Their burgers are huge! Getting a little one is definitely enough. Besides deciding between a bacon burger, hamburger, and cheeseburger, all the other condiments are free. They dump extra fries in your bag, and you get free peanuts which you can get all over the floor!! So glad they finally have a Five Guys in Gresham! :)

Great, quick & fresh burgers & fries. Gluten-free lettuce wrap option.

  • Marc K.

For a place that specializes in burgers, I guess I expect more. Burgers come "regular" or "small", which means 2 patties or 1. I'd prefer one thicker, juicier patty. I like that you can add virtually any topping for no extra charge. The fries are outstanding, and they give you a ridiculous amount of them. It's decent, but there are plenty of better burgers around. For me, it's a small step up from fast food.

God awful. I have to preface this review by saying that I was never on the huge "OMG FIVE GUYS THEY'RE THE BEST EVAR!" bandwagon that popped up several years ago. The first time I got one about four years ago was inarguably the best, even despite all the semi-let-down hype, it was still pretty good. Every time since however has been a letdown, even with modified expectations. It's almost like the more I lowered said expectations, remembering to expect nothing more than a slightly-above-par fast food burger, the results lowered with them. This particular chain in Gresham only warrants a review because of how godawful it is. I've eaten here twice now, and dumped $30 on a grand total of four burger and two orders of fries. The first time was eaten in the restaurant, the second time we drove it the whopping five minute drive home before eating. Both times, unfortunately, yielded the exact same results: soggy, clay-like bun, cold burger, unmelted cheese, and just very gross in general. I honestly have no clue how this particular branch can have a 3.5 star review. Have most people never eaten a decent burger? Is the prevalence of McBurgers to blame for such incredibly poor overall taste? Ugh, what IS it??! HOW?? When you wait 15 minutes for a fresh to order burger to be completed, and the burger STILL never reaches a great enough temp to melt the cheese directly on top of it (regardless of whether you have it right away, or give it a few minutes with its own heat in the bag), something is wrong. When the bun turns into the texture and consistency of raw dough, regardless of eating it immediately or letting it sit a few minutes, something is wrong. For those who say the fries save the experience...no. They taste bitter even fresh and steaming hot from the fryer. The mounds of salt don't even begin to hide the rank flavor. The fries themselves take no time whatsoever to become gummy, soggy, and mealy. Not even going to comment on the grease factor, or the fact that a large is nearly 1500 calories (presumably due to said grease). Absolutely disgusting. When I spend $5 on a burger, I expect it to be better than a $2 burger from jack in the box. Hasn't happened here. Gave it a second try just in case I was missing something, but I'm not. This location's food is horrid. $30 on two absolutely disgusting meals for nothing. YUCK. Never again, even if I was desperate. Let me reiterate: There is NO excuse for a cold, gummy burger. Especially when it takes 15 minutes to put the thing together. Jesus H, this is the worst food I've eaten in a while, and this is coming from someone who has gone to a Shari's recently. I have a feeling that the 5guys obsession is more front than substance. Does anyone actually like this garbage? Or do you just feel like you should because it's hyped as a "better burger"? Seriously. If you want a TRULY better burger and are craving that subway-style order what you want toppings, hit up wow burger at cascade station. Infinitely better burgers and fries, and costs pretty much the same.

Delicious food, friendly staff, cute atmosphere, and a million drink options... what's not to like? They give you a TON of fries though, so don't get a large unless you are sharing. Also, it should be noted that there are peanuts and peanut shells everywhere (people eat them while they wait for their order to be done), so if you have even a mild peanut allergy, I would not even step foot inside. The burgers are probably the closest to IN-N-OUT that you can get in Oregon. Yum!

    (5)
  • Mel L.

Fries, oh them fries. The burger yes, but try a veggie sandwich, they are wonderful. And the fries. I have eaten at several five guys in the Portland area, but for some reason the fries done here have been the very best yet. I can make a meal out of just them dang fries.

Great burger! I will eat here again, but get the food to go. Not into the plastic chairs and tables. But will be back for sure!

  • Margie N.

Best fries I have had in ages! Burgers were great...and what a choice of toppings at no extra charge. People complaining about price should know..this isn't McDonalds..you get what you pay for. The small fries were too much for two of us! Loved munching on the free peanuts while we waited. Classic rock playing...great! People are complaining it is too crowded???? That is a sign of a GOOD restaurant.

    (5)
  • Ron M.

Surprised at all the negative reviews! The Burgers are great, the price is reasonable (much less than red robin, mcmenamins) and the fries!!! Local grown potatoes fried in peanut oil, uh yeah, they are great! Complain about the crowded store all you want, they are very successful because they give great service serving great food! The food tastes homemade, like my grandmother made, before fast food was crappy beef (Pink Slime???) and frozen french fries. I will take 5 guys fresh food over any other place!

    (5)
  • Ken M.

Burgers good but not worth the price. Atmosphere incredibly loud and just seems like the latest fad. $11 for a bacon cheeseburger fries and a drink with deafening noise doesn't make sense.

Being a fan of a burger chain that has no locations in Oregon, i think i finally found what i was looking for in five guys. It sad when you talk about good burgers and all people say is " go to burgerville" these people are crazy! I'm not a big meat eater. I enjoy the semi annual beef burger:) there is nothing to say bad about this place. Good burgers, good variety and fries. There are some food Oregon lacks(IN MY OPINION), great Chinese food and Mexican food. but no longer the hamburger thanks to 5 guys.

I've heard people talking about Five Guys for a while, so when one finally opened in Gresham I was looking forward to trying it. To be fair, I'm not normally that much of a burger-and-fries person, but that's all the more reason to want to know the best place to go when the mood does strike. This is not going to be that place. It had only been open for a week when we went, but I figured 5:45 on a Friday night might not be too bad--the grownups should be at nice restaurants, and the teens shouldn't be out 'til later. Wow, wrong. Or if I was right, I would hate to see what it's like when it's "full." The line to order wasn't so bad, but from there every square foot of free space was packed elbow to elbow with the backlog of people waiting for their food. Once you got it I don't know what you were supposed to do with it, because there was no hope of getting a table. And good luck even trying to get out, as the doors were barricaded with bodies. Then every five minutes or so the crowds had to pack even tighter, as an employee pressed through pushing a dirty garbage can. If that doesn't sound unpleasant enough, imagine the noise all those people make. Then on top of that add the store sound system playing, as my husband called it, "the greatest hits of 1981 played through an AM transistor radio with the treble cranked full up." Which is probably why the cashier got our order wrong. "Mushrooms" turned out to be "mustard" by the time we finally got it. I could deal with all that (or at least plan to order online and pickup in the future) if the food was worth it, but it just wasn't. The famous burgers really are nothing special, just two flattened patties. Actually not even patties--mine was broken up into a bunch of half-dollar sized chunks that all just fell out of the bun. The cheese was not melted. And, a big pet peeve, the toppings were not evenly distributed at all. As in, you could have a bite with meat, or a bite with pickles, or a bit with tomatoes, but forget having all at once (that is, until they all fell out on the table/your shirt and you had to scoop them back up with your hands). The fries were starchy and flavorless except for the mounds of salt. My mouth was burning with salt for hours afterwards. To add insult to injury, you get to stare at the calorie counts on the menu board. And they are UNBELIEVABLE! Again, I obviously knew what I was getting into with a place like this, and it would have been worth it as an occasional treat if the food was really that good, but nope. Not worth it. The whole experience just left me feeling disgusting and a little sick.

I was so excited to hear that we now have a Five Guys in Gresham! Went with a girlfriend (on the recommendation of her son) tonight, Thurs. at 5:30. Well, I wish I could tell you we were thrilled because we were not. As other reviewers have written, it is extremely crowded, incredibly loud and I can't figure out why our Fire Marshall allows all those tables, chairs and stacked up boxes of peanuts to impede egress in case of an emergency. The food is nothing special and is overpriced. I understand that Five Guys, apparently, has a large group of fans, but I will not be one of them - I guess I just don't get it - Sorry!

Great tasting burger and fries. Orders take slightly longer than fast food bc your order is cooked fresh. You also get a ton of food so come hungry.

Today was my second trip here and they did a better job the second time around. The first time I ate here it was busy and my order was incorrect. This time the burger was as ordered and I got the Cajun Style fries instead of the Five Guy's Style. Everything on the burger was fresh and tasty. I love how your burger is only made as you order it. The juices are still melding with everything else when you open the foil and take the first bite. The Cajun Style fries are awesome. They were fried to the perfect crispness and the seasoning has just enough spice. I just can't get over my bun falling to pieces. This could be a, nearly, perfect burger if it wasn't for the bun. I don't know if it's because they aren't substantial enough to begin with, or if it's because of the foil wrapping. I removed my burger from the foil wrapper, almost immediately, after receiving it and the bun still crumbled under the weight of the burger. Don't get me wrong, I believe in a good burger being messy. The inadequate bun just turns me off. I don't like having to pick up parts of my burger instead of the whole. Good service, tasty burger and fries and broken bun only get three stars. I hope they fix they bun. I'll be back to find out.

Yum!
