I showed up 2 mornings in a row around 8 am and no service. The first day I sat in the drive through and despite seeing people inside no one came on the speaker or to the window to take my order. The 2nd day I decided I'd have better luck going inside to order. The store hours on the door clearly said it opens at 7 am yet the door was locked. Myself and another gentleman just left. I don't know what is going on with this place but someone in charge needs to step up thier game because that is not acceptable!!

You have to wonder sometimes how this business stays open. Prices are really really cheap. but taste suffers on many items. I really love the fish tacos and french frys. I dont like the tacos shells and flavor of beef. the bean burritos with green sauce is very good.

When your coming back from golfing and haven't eaten anything in like 4 or 5 hours, pretty much anything will sound bomb, but this place really was bomb and for 7 bucks I ate like a fucking king and we were back on the road in like 25 minutes. I fucking love you Del Taco, please come to Portland and put shitty old Taco Bell out of business for good, yaaaaay!!!

Their chicken is good and the food doesn't seem as filthy as Taco Bell. I'll definitely go back because the food is good and the staff is nice.

Ahh Del Taco. So much better than Taco Bell. The food has less of a fast food feel to it. Better tasting and it seems to fill you up better too. As others said, once glue done up on the mountain and your headed home. Stop in for a quick bite. It's very satisfying.

mmmm... del taco! there really isn't much to say about this place because their menu is just like every other location. i will say that I absolutely think this location is in a terrific spot though because there's nothing like some yummy del taco after a day of boarding up on mt. hood!

I went through the drive thru today, not only did it take forever, but the girls working the drive thru were rude. There was only one car. And the majority of the wait was after I paid or I would have just left. Never going there again. Even though the food is good.

After eating Del Taco it made me never want Taco Bell again! Not only is everything cheaper, but the quality and taste is better, plus none of that pesky "taco hell" you'll experience other places. Every time I go I get either the fish tacos or the Del Cheeseburger. The fish tacos come in corn tortillas wrapped in tin foil and a lime. Topped with salsa sour cream and cabbage 2 for 4 dollars is a bargain! And if your wondering if a cheeseburger is good at a Mexican fast food restaurant, it is!!

I agree with most of the yelpers on this one. I thought "oh yeah just another fast food Taco Bell clone". Not so! Trust me, It depends on what you order here though. Stay away from the obvious . It's predictable Mexican (American) fast food. But where this place excels is in their beer battered fish, (Alaskan not Tilapia), carne asada (steak), and carnitas (pork) tacos. They consist of two soft corn tortillas, pico de guillo (chopped tomato, onion and cilantro), creama, cabbage, lime wedge and meat served wrapped in foil. It's exactly like I got in Ensenada. The carne asada even has guacamole on it. Now if they just had real salsa instead of those awful packets. Only 2 bucks and change each, and $1.29 for the beer battered fish on Fridays. I got adventurous one day and tried the cheeseburger. It was ok. Typical FF burger comparable to Carl's Jr. Also try a strawberry lemonade (with real strawberries that get stuck in your straw) for $1.00

I've been sort of fixated on trying different tacos lately, so this is my second review in the past few days of a fast food taco place. Today, I went to the Del Taco location in Gresham. I had a couple of grilled chicken soft tacos and a fish taco. The chicken tacos were tasty. They say that their grilled chicken is marinated first. Well, whatever it's marinated in adds something good to the flavor. The fish taco was made with fried fish and it was OK, just like most other fish tacos. I prefer grilled fish and I ALWAYS wish that taco places would also have grilled fish in addition to fried fish, but it seems like most of them don't. Overall, I like Del Taco. Their food is pretty good and it's cheap, so it's a very good value. I just wish they had locations in Portland because Gresham is quite a distance for me to go. If they were closer, I'd go there a lot.

I love Del Taco. I love Del Taco SO much that I've driven half an hour to get to their Gresham location. While this location doesn't really differentiate from any other DT I've ever been to, the fact that it exists is enough to make me happy. Would have 5 starred, but my last visit the 1/2lb Bean & Cheese burritos were tiny. Not sure if they downsized, or the people working didn't know what they were doing. Either way, lost a star. I want the full half pound of beans and cheese, dammit!

I am amazed by the ratings thus far and am amazed by Del Taco. I knew of Del Taco and thought "meh, another Taco Bell," and that it was even cornier given that they are contained within a peach colored stucco restaurant with the bright colored stripes on a retail drive-through pad in a strip mall. As for Mexican fast food, I only really had a good opinion of El Pollo Loco. My introduction to Del Taco has changed that. This Del Taco is, more or less, en route to service appointments with the car dealership. I saw the specials and "recession food" they had, so I stopped in. Their food is better than what Taco Bell has to offer! Their economy menus actually have decent choices, too. Also, on certain days of the week, they'll have a featured special, like 3 Chicken Soft Tacos for ~$2 on Thursdays after 3 p.m., I believe. Then, the food arrives quickly and the people who work there are courteous. When I go to get my car serviced, I either drop in here for their breakfast fare, such as a small burrito and hash browns, or, if the appointment is later in the day, their lunch fare, such as soft tacos and tostadas, For fast food, it gets 4 stars because of the taste, value, and service.

I included a picture for this updated review, that shows a taco shell that looks like it was in a fight and came out losing. I realize these are 49 cent tacos, but I really enjoy then entire shell. I know they had to know it was broke, since the decent sized missing part was not even in the wrapper. The other sad thing is, I should have been taking pictures of was the lack of meat in some of the tacos the past few trips, literally, a spot in the middle and not to the edges. That happened a couple of times, and finally the broken shell was last the straw. If you have a drive thru window it does not mean, screw them with those crappy broken shells we keep just for people too lazy to get out of the car and come in.

It's a Taco Bell wanna be, only slightly better perhaps? Don't honestly really care since it's cheap like TB.

I waited through an entire song over the system before being acknowledged to take my order. Over 3 minutes without even a nod to the dining room? Pathetic. I should have walked out. Chipotle is now across the street. They need to step up.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque.
