Save yourself some grief, do not go to this 'restaurant'. The owner stands outside lurking for tourists and louring them in with promises of 'wow' food or your money back. That should be a red flag right there. Awful, generic, overpriced, overcooked, food. The best thing about this place is the view. Go to trip advisor and yahoo to see 24+ bad reviews. The owner's a con man and my husband and I left very disappointed and we made a promise to the owner-to never come back. I would have given this place zero stars. The one star is for the view. My husband and I had the crab sandwich-yuck, it was obviously pre-frozen, which there is no excuse for, and served with pickles and onions!!! No imagination at all. Conveyor belt food and to be avoided at all costs.

Nice location on the docks hanging out over the river. Pleasant folks. Casual dining but not casual dining prices. We had shrimp scampi with caesar salad (the shrimp were over cooked but the salad was good) and halibut Florence (halibut stuffed with crab and a sauce on it). The halibut Florence was quite good and the veggies that came with it were done perfectly although with a bit too much garlic. Took a while to get any bread or salad, then it all came at once. Quite a large and varied menu although everything seemed a bit over priced.

Decided to try something different. Restaurant was clean. Service was good. Food lacked any taste. We had halibut fish and chips. Fish breeding wasn't crisp or even brown. It looked like it had seasoning but was tasteless. French fries were nothing special. For $16 - I expected a lot more. I would go to Burgerville for halibut fish and chips before I go here Skip this place if possible until they revamp their menu and chef

Don't be tricked by the beautiful location and high prices on their menu! This is a place people don't take cooking seriously and have no respect to food. We ordered the Fisherman's Net and the Catch of The Day. Boy! What a waste! Would never come back to this place again. Never. BTW, don't listen to the lady of the Seafood Store nearby, Novelli Crab and Seafood. She would not recommend a good restaurant to you either!

The food that we were able to eat was very good quality. Unfortunately, we had two instances of food with hair in it and our server Jose blamed our dog for the second hair and did nothing to remedy the issue on our bill. Additionally, the service was lacking for the prices we paid. Again the food was very good, but the service and lack of ownership of issues is unacceptable. I would definitely not recommend this establishment and will not come here again. Very disappointing

Here is my story - There was a Halibut Fish and Chips Special displayed on the sandwich sign for $16 at the front door. The regular price for the item is $21. I was pleased with the dish. Overall it was decent because I was hungry. Then I was charged for the "regular" item on the menu. The waitress stated that I should have specified because the regular is a larger portion. When we disputed about this confusion and unethical marketing, the waitress was very unapologetic about their policy. I am unapologetic with this review.

Ate lunch here today. Most people were eating on the deck. It was a beautiful day. Our waitress was very friendly. She kept checking on us. Two of us had the chowder and salad. The salad was fresh and the ranch dressing was very good. One had the chicken club. Very good and the other two split the fish and chip special and said it was very good as well. Would eat here again.

Being someone who has never visited the town, going to this restaurant I had all options open and was expecting some good seafood, boy I was wrong. Eating for ten is apparently outside of the comprehension of teenage hosts. Before sitting down members of our party had to scope out the place to see what we could work out for seating. Seeing as how there are 10 of us one would think someone from the waitstaff would realize the money we where about to spend, and help accommodate. nope. I personally would have walked out at that point but the party was hungry. Placing an order might as well of been at a cafeteria counter, and pulling options out of the waitress was a task in itself. Crab was seemingly fresh, chowder as average, Claim jumper chowder it resembled, however Multiple orders of fish and chips where ordered. Every persons order and must have been the worst anyone had at the table. This is supposed to be your speciality?! Side note: it was Memorial Day weekend and maybe this is unexpected good note, great cocktails. Train your staff and help then realize that the better the patrons are taken cared the more money AND TIP you make!

This place had some nasty food. It was expensive. The pizza seemed like a frozen pizza that they served to us lukewarm. The service was random and terrible. We had about 5 different waiters and it took us forever to get our drinks refilled. It was not even that busy so I'm not sure what the problem was. The only positive was that hey forgot to charge us for our drinks so we saved 6 bucks.

Not nearly as good in past. This has always been a must stop when in Florence, but definitely gone down hill.

Disgusting! Worst clam chowder I have ever had. On top of that the place was filthy. Thumbs down!

I'll start with the good. The restaurant has a nice, large outdoor seating area on the water. But oh my, the food was a bad. I ordered fish and chips and the coating on the fish was soft and mushy. The french fries were also soft, greasy and mushy and I couldn't eat them. The entree cost $19 I think. Too much for a plate of mush! My friend ordered clam chowder and it had the consistency of paste. He ate about half of it, but later regretted it because he had trouble digesting it and the chowder sat in his belly like a lead weight. Perhaps the chowder has too much flour or other thickener. I visit the coast often and it's a struggle to get a good meal. I think it must be hard for talented restauranteurs to survive in small coastal towns given the short season. I think most of the restaurants that do survive must cut corners on kitchen talent and food quality So, if you want to dine at a restaurant on the Oregon coast, check reviews before committing to one. That is especially important for water view restaurants who often charge high prices. It's a terrible feeling to pay a premium price for food served waterside that tastes like Applebees--or worse.

Recommended by our hotelier. Service was excellent! Food was fabulous and fresh! We were absolutely delighted. Our waiter treated our service as if a five star restaurant. My halibut was fresh and flaky. My hubby had cioppino. Fresh and delicious. Whole clams in the chowder. Yummy. We will go there again. Glad we did not read some of the whining reviews before we went...

Went back again yesterday and I had the Ocean Wave Salad and my friend had the Beer Battered Halibut. This was the BEST salad I have ever had and I could not eat all of it. It was piled high with shrimp, crab and cod. Everyone around me was asking what is the name of that salad? I told them and they ordered it too! My friend said the halibut was delicious and the portions were more than generous. This is the very best place to eat on the Oregon coast!

Without a doubt the most terrible service I have ever experienced in my life. Frozen food, disrespectful server, and an imaginary manager that would not assist us. Please, do not eat here.

    (1)
  • Dulce C.

Paula the server was excellent. The Cioppino was very good as was the razor clam appetizer. The ciabatta bread with the vinaigrette was also very good. The pasta with red sauce was quite tasty. My only complaint is that they served mussels in my plate that had not opened while cooking. The goose bump velvety red wine was excellent. All in all a pleasant experience.

This place is awesome!! All the servers are friendly and the Ahi Tuna is soooo good!

Do not eat here! We were vacationing from California and we stopped here thinking that the food quality would match the beautiful location. WRONG! First off, the entees were delivered before the appetizers. Secondly, they totally forgot to bring out the clam chowder we ordered. After the waitress was reminded, it took another 10 minutes to get to us. She apologized by saying the manager called an emergency meeting. WTF??? Third, the fish we ordered had some weird cream sauce and the chowder had pork in it. When we questioned the cream sauce and the pork, the smart-ass waitress asked, "Did you read the menu?" It took everything in me to stay calm, and only because my four-year-old was present. The menu didn't say a thing about cream sauce, and I'm from California...SF, Fisherman's Warf...I'm sorry but pork isn't an everyday ingredient in clam chowder. So after going back and forth she finally said, "So what do you want me to do with the fish!?" For fear of having spit (or something worse) in my replacement meal, I left it alone. Service...horrible Food...Average Save your pennies and go somewhere else.

Everything was really good, but could have had bigger portions for the price. A great change from Mo's, and less chaos in the eating areas.

We were drawn in by the beautiful deck with the "welcome guests and dogs" sign at the entrance. We like to take our dogs with us. Checked the yelp score and saw a disappointing 2.5 star, but decided to go for it. We were just having a light lunch and wanted to enjoy the deck with the dogs. My orange juice was fermented it was so old, seriously, I'm not exaggerating. The chowder was ok. Fish and chips was ok. Service was mediocre. It took quite awhile. Prices were ridiculous for this place!! Wow! Really wanted a simple small crab something, but the cheapest/smallest crab thing was like half a crab for 17$ . Just no. Just don't.

  • Kati D.

This place was not worth the cost. $20+ entrees and expensive appetizers. I got the beer battered fish & chips. The fries were limp and some were soggy. Some parts of my fish were burnt. It was edible and I definitely wouldn't say the worst meal I've had, but should have been better prepared for a $14 plate. I did not enjoy the service. One older lady kept walking around like she was mad at everyone. We only had our drinks ask to be refilled once and that was at the end of dinner. We also had to flag someone down for our check while the employees just stood at the counter talking.

    (2)
  • John D.

The building is great, the atmosphere is wonderful and the location is prime! But, the service is crap and the food is over priced... for being a seafood place on the coast. It took us over 15 minutes just to get our menus, then we had to wait for the drink orders. Waited again. Four drinks took over 15 more minutes. The food is ok, but for a $20 salad, we expected more of a "Wow" factor. We'll be sticking with Beachcombers down the street from now on! They're clam chowder is the best in town!

    (2)
  • Farrel D.

Food was weak. Service was terrible! Waitress went on break and left half our group without food delivered. Cooks threw it out, I guess, since it sat undelivered so long. Manager unapologetic.

Our party of three had a slight sampler from the menu including the Cod and Chips, clam chowder, a salad and our 5 year old had the Mac N Cheese. Overall, the outdoor seating, decent food and attentive staff made the visit great. While I do think the pricing was a bit high for the amount of food that was delivered, the quality of the ingredients was very much deserving of a 5 star rating. Do keep in mind that this is a tourist trap town and everything costs a bit more, so I'm only knocking one star for the overall value. The fish and chips were the best we had on our road trip through the Oregon Coast. The chowder was also very good and they didn't destroy the clam taste by adding bacon like some other coastal locales do. The kids menu was very user friendly and the view of the harbor kept our 5 year old's attention until the food arrived. Service was a bit slow, but on a gorgeous sunny day, that was loaded with tourists, they did a good job of getting food out in a decent amount of time. The volume of food that was being pushed out was incredible and the table turn was great as well. About the only negative was the wind that made coloring hard for the kiddo. I would give ICM a huge thank you for being the seafood highlight of our vacation and we will definitely be back when we come down that way again!

When I came to Florence I swayed everyone in my party away from Moe's even know they wanted to go. Sadly this place is nearly the same. I should have realized this tourist trap before I walked in because its next door to Moe's and even a spot closer to the old town parking lot. Ordered the fish n' chips. It consisted of 2 almost fish stick pieces and some generic frozen French fries. What a let down. It is a step up from Van de Kamp's frozen fish sticks out of the box, but not by a lot. The calamari flavor was not bad, but the breading was fried a little too long. Almost seemed like the oil temperature got to hot and was nearing a burnt flavor. Clam chowder was just about as good as the Progresso I get out of a can. The texture of the base was good, but there was very little clams inside and could use more seasoning. I can't say this place straight up sucks, but I can say that is a generic tourist seafood shop built for the older palate. So if that is what you are looking for -- try it out. I refuse to eat on the water of Florence anymore, it was my mistake though finding this tourist trap. It was fun having a young little girl serve me my menu's, she was probably about 7-8 years old, maybe the owner's daughter? The waiter service was not bad here but the table next to us seemed like they had a hard time grabbing a waiter. If you are trying to get a place with a nice outdoor view, this is the place though in Florence to go to. Large deck with good tables outside, to bad it was too cold to enjoy when I visited. I got to address the "all you can eat crab" promotion also. It is $65 dollars! LOL, I'd rather fly my family to Vegas for that price =)

We had high hopes for this place. They allow dogs and the view is really good right on the water. We ordered sweet potato fries to start and my wife had clam chowder. Both of these were alright. We ordered fish and chips for dinner. The Cod was extremely dry and it seemed over fried or something. The fries were run of the mill frozen fries. The service was below average.

I really wanted to write a good review of this restaurant. They did so many things right. The decor is great. They have free Wi-Fi. The service was excellent. The view is great. The food *looked* good, and was presented well. But I know seafood, having eaten it all over the world, and this was just not good seafood. I ordered the clam chowder, which was very average (but passable). Then I ordered the Captain's plate. First of all the portion was a bit small, but that's OK. The fries were good, and the garlic vegetables were good too. But the main point, the seafood, just wasn't good. I mean, it wasn't just average - it was actually kind of terrible. I don't know why. I hope it's because they were just having a bad day. But for a place that's charging $25 for their seafood platter, it's not OK to have bad days.

We have been here two times now, and the food is what keeps us coming back. After being seated quickly (by the owners 6 year old daughter, awkward), we waited for over 10 minutes for a server to appear, the owners are the only wait staff so they are friendly but disorganized when they get a rush. We ordered the Sautéed Calamari, Cesar Salad, Clam Chowder, and Chicken strips with Fries for the kids. Everything was delicious. Best clam chowder in Florence. Total was $35 and we all left happy and full. I really just wish they would hire an appropriate hostess.

  • Levi K.

The clam chowder we had tasted alright, but it was so empty. There wasn't many clams or potatoes at all. It was like eating flour soup.

Stopped here for a quick lunch for 4. Loved that it has dog friendly outdoor dining. Our waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Chowder is miles better than Moe's next door. Cod and chips was the freshest and best we've had outside of London. Sat at the waterfront picnic tables and loved the relaxing setting. Watched seals swimming lazily by. We are already planning our next visit to ICM. Delicious!

  • L K.

Wow! Great food at reasonable prices! The fish and chips was outstanding, as were the fish tacos, and clam chowder. Service was fine. Eating outside was lovely, right on the water. Inside wasn't such a great ambience, which is why I didn't give it a 5, but the food was surely a 5. We would eat there again for certain!

    (4)
  • Jim C.

Location on the pier is prime, but food was rather mediocre. Crab cakes were mushy on the outside and a bit gummy on the inside. Clam Chowder was decent, but relatively light on clams, potatoes and bacon. Would opt for elsewhere unless a great day and outdoor seating was available.

    (3)
  • Stephen B.

Meh....the prices are a tad high for the portion you get. The food was good, but not exceptional. The ample outdoor seating is the true appeal here. Very pet friendly outdoors and its always fun to watch the seals, otters, and other critters in the harbor.

  • john P.

Walked past a couple of times and their employees were hawking samples - okay good marketing i guess but when we finally decided to eat and wanted to be on the water this seemed like the place to go....Big dissapointment - as others have said - way over priced - come on guys $12 was your cheapest burger on the lunch menu? Shrimp cocktail was pathetic - warm, tiny shrimp and wilted lettuce with sprinkles of parsley - very amateur effort. Drinks were empty and had to ask for refills. Not worth your time or money and such a shame given their location.

  • Ken C.

We didn't have dinner hear. The steamer clams and crab louie salad was good (could have had a little more crab). Crab cakes were OK.

  • Harvey F.

One star for the view alone. We sat outside dockside for lunch. Blue skies, warm sun, shouldn't get any better than that. The service alone could get two stars. They were friendly, mostly attentive but so very disorganized. I lost track of how many times they brought the wrong drink or food order to our table (picnic table). They hustled, but wouldn't have to if they were organized and taking the orders to the right table. I can't say a single good thing about the food. I ordered the Sauteed scallops and prawns. What I got was scallops so over cooked they were falling apart and tasted like they had been steamed in a bag in the microwave. The prawns were no better. They were chewy. They were soaked in a dish that was supposed to be a butter sauce, but tasted only of oil/grease. The veggies included were also cooked to death and mushy. The broccoli was covered with brown spots. Definitely not something I'd let go out the door. I gave up what was probably the only edible thing, the mashed potatoes. I gave them to my wife so she would have something to fill up on as her dish was somehow worse than mine. She ordered the crab stuffed sole. She was served a limp piece of fish that had tarter sauce (the waitress argued otherwise) cheese and shrimp on top. It looked like it had spent way too long under the salamander. We also ordered an appetizer of crab cakes to start with. What we got were bread crumb cakes and a side of tears. We received 4 crab cakes on a plate of wilted lettuce that were served with a half bowl of the again mystery tartar sauce as well as straight out of the bottle sweet chili sauce. You're looking at 20+ dollars a plate for an entree, appetizers are only slightly cheaper. The quality does not condone such pricing at all. I was also surprised at their outdated beer menu. With so many great local choices it's a shame to see what they had. I've had fresher tasting seafood from our local red lobster. We were not alone in our thinking of how bad everything was. The family next to us also had issues with the quality and freshness, all while being assured by what I assume was the general manager that fresh crab meat isn't white.... If you're looking for fresh seafood, do yourself a favor and choose any of the other places near by.

We went here today as Mo's is not really that good so we thought this place might be better. Boy were we wrong. Dad likes clam chowder so he ordered that. He said very little clams or potatoes and it was more like a milky broth. Mom and I ordered the beer battered halibut and were very disappointed. First of all it was not halibut at all but most likely cod which was not good at all. Second of all it was not beer battered at all but just floured and fried:-( When we were unable to eat our $20 meals we complained and asked them to verify the fish. They lied and insisted it was halibut. Waitress ignored our complaints about it and we had to get a manager who thought he was fixing our problem by offering us $8 off our $40 worth of inedible food. We will never return and will warn everyone we know about this place. At least at Mo's we would not have expected that high of quality and Mo's puts this place to shame.

  • Michael M.

I figured I'd try this place since Mo's isn't as good as it used to be...now I think I'll go back to Mo's next time. This definitely is not what one would expect from a seafood restaurant on a coastal town. The atmosphere and view are good and the staff is friendly, but that's about it. They had two menu's, their regular one (which was either 5 or 7 pages) an then a "specials" menu (that was another 2 pages). Most places with menus that large have multiple hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and an assortment of deep fried items that fill up the pages; his place had a true assortment of items, and while that may be good for some, it makes me wonder how many different types of items a small restaurant, or any restaurant for that matter, can be good at making. I had a bowl of chowder and fried razor clams. The chowder's flavor wasn't bad, but not as good as it should have been. There was only one potato chunk in the entire bowl and I'd get more clams out of a can of generic grocery store chowder. The razor clams were breaded and deep fried, and then smothered in a sauce making the breading a flour glob on the clams. The clams were large, but were either overcooked or freezer burnt...not sure I want to know which one...but they weren't that good until you got to the middle. Good thing I had tarter sauce to smother them in, which did happen to be good.

This place never disappoints! The all you can eat crab is what I always get. I like the atmosphere and the location.

Hot Chowder, a little cheap on the focaccia bread, not enough to sop up the garlic clam broth. Fish n Chips were tasty.

Food was tasty. Service was horrible. Disorganized patio seating. Too many servers and no one accountable. We ordered chowder, fish and chips and crab cakes. Really liked the crab cakes.

This place advertises all you can eat dungeness crab all over the outside and on the internet, but the price tag is conspicuously missing. Upon sitting down and opening my menu, I found out why, $65!! and it didn't even come with a buffet or veggies or anything else as far as I could tell. From all the false advertising and its dockside location I was expecting some sort of heavenly crab-hall where boats pulled in and unloaded crabbies straight into the pot, and masses of people gathered at long tables with cups of melted garlic butter and pitchers of microbrew. Instead, this place looked and felt like some sort of bad California chain restaurant that broke loose and floated north to crash land in Florence. Everything we ordered was overpriced and underwhelmingly flavored. Perhaps the most aggravating thing of all was the pizza section of the menu had a little blib explaining that pizzas may take extra time because of the 'hand made crust'. In another startling example of false advertising, we discovered that this was complete malarkey, the crust was a rock-hard biscuit that had a fresh-from-the-freezer taste and distinctive imprints left by whatever machine had pressed it into form. To be fair, the service was pretty good, the steamed mussels were decent, and the bar looked very well equipped, however the prices were ridiculous and completely not worth it. Go to Mo's instead. Or better yet, just buy seafood and cook it yourself!

Now I know this isn't a 5-star seafood restaurant, per se. But my experience here was really nice. Maybe it was the fact that on that particular day the weather was a clear 78 degrees with a refreshing breeze. Maybe it was the fact that this place allowed dogs and I had my puppy with me (so they definitely earned points there). But whatever it was, I had a great time at ICM. I ordered the half crab, which yes, was expensive ($21), but you know what- it was delicious. Juicy, fresh, and just plain good. Now I'm no crab connoisseur, so I can't compare this crab meal to others, really. But I can say I enjoyed every bite of it. So if the sun is out, you have a dog with you, and you want some crab- come here!

The bitchiest waitress ever! We had a party of eight, right off the bat she said there will be no separate checks and she will add the gratuity- house rule. Not very welcoming to say the least. Two people ordered Halibut Fish & Chips, since we saw it it was on the special for $16. When the check arrived, they were charged $21 . We asked to straighten out the mistake, we were told " you didn't order the special ". I told her that is confusing and misleading. Her reply was - I don't make the rules! No " sorry about the misunderstanding " or anything. Of course, once the gratuity I'd added to the check, no need to be polite to the customers. This is a very sorry way to do business! We won't be back.

This place has so much potential, but falls way short. The service is lacking. The food is okay at best, my food was cold, my husband's was soggy. I found a hair in my food. We ordered an appetizer that came way after our meals came, but the waiter would not remove from our bill. As for the cleanliness, the table was sticky. The utensils are left on the table in a bucket for each customer to touch throughout the day, as are the appetizer plates. The women's bathroom was disgusting, there was an employee outside of the restroom with her shoes off, sleeping on the bench. A couple of employees seem to be doing all of the work, the rest were wondering around with little purpose. Not the atmosphere one would expect after looking at the prices on the menu. Avoid this place, your GI tract will thank you, as will your wallet.

It's Labor Day weekend and it's nice so staff your restaurant accordingly manager person. We waited over 30 min for our drinks beer, water, and a Pepsi and one member of our 5 person party didn't even get their drink until we asked for it 3x!! Also, the food didn't arrive until well after an hour into our visit and AGAIN one member's food didn't arrive at all!!! We had to ask a near non existent staff member for the missing dish and by the time it got there the rest of us were done eating. Wish I could at least say the food was worth the wait but AGAIN the food on the Oregon coast SUCKS. 3 of us had the seafood chowder. It was bland and tasted like there was flour saturating it. 2 other people had the fish and chips. They looked and tasted like frozen fish sticks and the french fries were cold in the middle. The prices were cray!!!! So expensive. Save yourself the money and gut ache and bring a camp stove and cook your own meal. I've live here for 5 years and have yet to have a decent normal priced meal at the Oregon coast.

This place was [barely] alright; nothing special, though. The restaurant is easy to find, and has a nice-looking mural on the outside. The table was a little tricky, though. I was in a party of 22, and the long, central table worked out well for 18. It didn't count the last four of us. I had to ask twice for a table to be added, and when it was, it was a circular table, with a diameter of about six feet. It wasn't big enough for four adults, imo. Anyway, I could look past that. I like being close to my family. I couldn't look past the small water glasses, or my drink order not being taken, though. The water glasses were the size one would get scotch in, and I had to order my drink the same time as my meal. (It's my understanding a drink order's taken, the drinks are brought out, and you're asked if you're ready to order food.) Anyway, the fish and chips was weird. The fish had no breading, however, I did like the chips. It wasn't worth the $12, though. The menu as a whole was just overpriced, and contained a couple mechanics (spelling and grammar) errors. I wouldn't go here again.

Great service, great food. Generous portions. My only complaint is that their wine list is a little lacking. We had a bottle of sauvignon blanc and it was fit for cooking only. I would eat here again.

I was welcomed inside very cordially by a young lady on the sidewalk and after reading all the seafood menus in town I decided to give ICM a try. I ordered the crab stuffed halibut with sweet chilies and it was fine. It was served with freshly and properly sautéed broccoli. The gentleman waiter filled my diet soda glass several times and that was appreciated. Overall, the service was a little slow and I sat for quite a time waiting for them to take my order. Luckily, there was diet soda. For $29.00 this was the most expensive seafood dish I saw on menus in Florence. While it wasn't outstanding, it wasn't bad either so I feel OK about it. Fresh crab does cost money and outstanding fish cookery isn't common and my fish tastes may be more demanding than most. (I think crab cakes from Dungeness crab are an abomination) The setting was beautiful, with beautiful weather, I was seated on the deck overlooking the water. So, even if the food wouldn't win Master Chef, it made a lovely evening memory for me. Thumbs up!
