Breakfast was good, Standard breakfast of Eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. Diner vibe.

We eat here all the time. My husband loves their Tea and the burgers. We've had about half the items on the menu. All of which were good. The service is spotty. Sometimes they are right on it, sometimes not so much. But they are always nice, friendly, and professional.

Waitress took my order about 5min after I sat down, she had a good attitude with a smile on her face and my coffee stayed full. I found the price to be very fair and well in range for the quality of food. Why not 5: Too many pork options not enough alternatives. Also, I don't see a website with a menu and I like to know what I want before I get there. And although the price is fair the quality doesn't warrant a 5. All in all I will definitely be back.

The nostalgia screams here! The old-time, southern feel... Weathered Pepsi signs, and other memorabilia from back in the day are plastered along the walls. I like that. What I like even better is biscuits and gravy! And the portions here were large, and just what you'd expect from a diner like this. Good comfort food. Service was sub-par, but for cheap "soul" food in Eugene... I'd do it again on my next visit!

Food is ok, the decor makes it cool to pass the time because it's old nostalgic stuff. We don't go here often but when we have the service has been fine. There was a strange smell before we left today I'm not sure if it was vinegar to clean a coffee pot, because I did smell bleach pryer to this or if it was a patron that stunk of cat urine or possibly someone who has their drugs on them. Because it did not smell like this the whole time we were there and it didn't smell like the food being cooked and their really wasn't very many people there.

This place is awesome. I love the interior. My wife and I enjoy the bar. Quiet, empty, tv, food and drink. What more coukd you ask for?

Been here for an hour and still haven't got our food. Waiter took another tables order when we had been here for at least 20 minutes more than them. Ready to get our food to go.

Haven't been in here for months. Pleasantly surprised today. The walls have been cleaned and painted. It looks like the torn and ripped booths have been recovered too. Much nicer on the inside than it used to be. But more importantly, the food has improved. The coffeecake was back, tho a little smaller but the wife says it tastes great. My Sweet Lorraine omelet was full of good crisp bacon and spinach as advertised. We will return again more often.

I go here when I am visiting relatives in Eugene, Oregon. It is within walking distance from their home, and they are very late sleepers, so for breakfast, I just get up and walk to Terry's. I love the stoplights on River Road which actually talk to you-- "It is now safe to cross River Road. The cross sign is on to cross River Road." or "Wait. Wait. Wait." We don't have them in Phoenix yet. I can't wait until we get them. No one mentioned all the crazy crap all over the ceiling and walls. There are chairs and desks literally nailed to the ceiling. It's fun just looking at the ceiling while you are waiting for your food to arrive. The eggs benedict that I had was good. The hollandaise sauce was fine and the muffin wasn't hard or over-cooked. And my egg was poached. I like this place.

I tend to eat healthier than this, but when I want a burger and don't want to cook or go to Cornucopia, Terry's does the trick. I believe they get hormone free meat, their bacon is thick, and the fries just fine (nothing extremely special). We occasionally go for breakfast. The hashbrowns are pretty good. Mostly go because we are lazy and they are close to our house. Coffee-thumbs down. It's watery and they don't have sugar in the raw anymore. Best part is the blonde breakfast server-she is amazing and always very nice.

This establishment was definitely one of the better in town, not so anymore. I haven't been in since early '09 and the quality and quantity of food is disappointing to say the least. I ordered the 8 dollar breakfast "special", what I got could be had at McDonalds for 1/3 the price. My friend ordered coffee cake that was one of the main reasons we used to go there, it was a tiny slice, a bastard of the former pieces. Needless to say, GJ's will always have it place on the thrown.

Fun diner in the Santa Clara neighborhood. They serve a great breakfast! Their stuffed hashbrowns are ridiculously delicious! The menus has a wide selection of omelettes - so far all of them have tasted great. And if you order a biscuit on the side, just wait - it's huge! Decent lunch menu offers some tasty burgers and club sandwiches. Service is decent if it's in the afternoon or evening, but pretty slow during the breakfast rush. All of the waitresses are super friendly. The decor is 1950's-60's, but could be presented better. I am always surprised to hear modern pop/rock music here... I'm in my late 20's and would love to hear some oldies to match the setting! This is our go-to breakfast or lunch stop for the River Road area. I'd pick Terry's Diner over the Shari's up the road any time!

It's a low budget diner so the food was mediocre as expected. Waited a good 15 minutes for our food. Very small dining area was open, the other section was closed so it was crowded. There was some very questionable people going in and out of the video poker section in the back. Overall it was ok. Fits in the area it's located. But won't be going back

Cooks don't make fresh Hollandaise sauce One of the easiest things to make and delivers the best results. Undercooked hash browns, over cheesed... Next time I'll go to Sharie's...

Waitress forgot a part of my order and the service was slow at a time when it was not that busy. It's not the worst meal I've ever had but wasn't memorable either. I'll seek out other options before coming here again.

I ate there a few years ago and hated it. A waitress had just quit so the assistant managerhad to wait tables. To start out she filled my coffee cup all the eay to the brim not allowing cream & sugar and even spilled it on the table. The food was nasty, poorly prepared and the attitude of the asst manager bad. She actually yelled at me because I was upset with her service. Bad place to eat.

I frequent Terry's and usually have good service, today that is not the case! I went in for breakfast raving about the great level of service I received just last night for dinner. This morning I was treated like I was less important than the older (50s) patrons and it was impossible to get a smile out of any of the 6 servers working. 3 people told us they would bring more water and it took almost standing and waving to get some. When they did bring us more water you would think we were cutting off an arm at the inconvenience we were. I am have been in the service industry for years and am appalled at the service I received this morning at Terry's. I will go back being that I have had way better experiences but if it is ever the same as today I will be sure to tell others.

I like this Diner. Usually have breakfast or lunch with a friend, sometimes alone. Servers are friendly, food is served within 15 minutes. Can't imagine waiting an hour as some have said. I judge a diner by the soup of the day, the chowder on Friday is the best, tasty and creamy, the vegetable soup is good too. Usually have a French dip sandwich, or a salad, no complaints. Comfy place to go.

I've only eaten breakfast here, but it's always good. They have a good menu with lots of options. I enjoy the chicken fried steak. Plenty on seating throughout with lots of comfy booths.

Our last trip to Terry's Diner was motivated by a Buy one get one half off coupon and the fact that it is in my neighborhood so we didn't have to travel far. I also prefer to eat at independently owned businesses rather than the big chains that just reheat stuff from their freezer instead of cooking food fresh. I had only been there for breakfast before and it is usually OK for that. The food is exactly what you'd expect of an "American comfort food" greasy spoon diner kind of place, plain and of mediocre quality with nothing to make it stand out. For dinner my companion ordered the rib-eye steak with mashed potatoes and salad. He specified no gravy, but his mashed potatoes came smothered in a weak, clear gravy that looked like it was poured out of a can. The corn was definitely canned. He ended up sending the whole thing back mostly because the steak had no flavor of it's own, it tasted like it had been cooked on a filthy grill, that was all the flavor it had. I had the "Terry's Smothered Chicken" with a salad and baked potato. The corn was not terrible, but it was obviously sweetened with sugar in processing. The salad was a OK, basic plain lettuce, three slices of cucumber and some hard tomato slices. nothing special, but at least was not just a big pile of chopped Iceberg lettuce. I think it may have been romaine. The baked potato was just kind of sad, cooked too long and all dried out with a burnt spot on the skin. I am not likely to go back there again because there are just too many places that actually try to be remarkable in some way to eat at someplace that is no better than a Denny's or Shari's.

So sad to see Terry's fall to such a low. We have been dining here for years and always have ordered the same thing. For my husband, cottage cheese and french dip. For myself, chicken fried steak with eggs over medium. Well from the beginning...waitress was terrible, no silverware, didn't ask what we wanted to drink, disappeared forever, never brought us our tab. The food was not good...the french dip had cheese on it, cottage cheese was dry, my eggs were over easy, the chicken fried steak was rubbery. The only good thing was the water.

Very poor experience. I wouldn't say "bad". But def not good by any means. What does it say about a place that messes up their signature dish. I mean u would think that, because it has the name of the business in it, you might have all of the ingredients in it! Wait staff was ok when you can find them. But I can honestly say that this is the only chance I have to give this place to decide to never go back.
